Throw your feet up. >> Why are you listening to me? >> Close. You never know. You just got to try that. >> All right. Go ahead and put your hands behind your back for me. >> You're not reaching for your pants. >> Yes, I am. >> Aggressive, but I saw here. Just stand over here for just a second. >> Yeah, sure. You can do that. I just cut my carriers. >> I got you. >> That's just a sneak peek of what's coming up. No one likes a shoplifter. They slip items into their bags thinking they can outsmart the system and walk away [music] with what others worked hard to pay for. But when these thieves push their luck and get caught in the act, there's nothing more satisfying than watching them get exposed as some of the dumbest shoplifters ever. >> So I just said um cuz I just kept walking over here. >> He said he said he stopped you after you left the store when you were in the park. >> No, he stopped me before I left the store. >> On October 6th, 2024, a store employee reports a man tried to leave a supermarket with a cart full of unpaid groceries. >> Guy walking like with his legs like open. Oh gosh. African-American. He had a probably like three minutes after he before you guys pulled. >> Did he take he took a whole cart? >> I stopped the car. I grabbed the cart from him, bro. >> Oh, so he didn't get the groceries. >> No, he passed point of sale. He was already outside. >> Okay. So, pass point of sale, >> but he didn't get the cart. >> No, I got He probably took it in. That's what I was trying to go back so I could get a receipt on it. >> Okay. So, let the boys know. >> Say uh 3:15. Just be advised. He doesn't have the shopping cart. They were able to get that back. I don't know. I I knew I I saw him walking around with all that stuff and I'm like I was on the phone with a customer and I saw him maybe wait for the door. Things started beeping. I just kind of ran. I stopped him right right Yeah. pretty much in the street. I grabbed a cart. I found him around and I should have called it right away but I was going to see if he was going to get in the car so I can take a picture of the place. >> He probably knew. So he kept walking. >> He went crossed. >> Yeah. So he started he started jogging that the water. He went behind Shockwave. Kind of heavy set guy. So his legs were kind of like this. >> Yeah. Bowed out. >> Yeah. I think he had a black short, pink shirt with a real construction thing. So, he's either hiding or somewhere. >> You guys want >> witnesses describe the suspect as an African-Amean male wearing a pink shirt and reflective vest seen pushing the cart past the checkout area. >> You guys want to sign complaints? >> I I like to trespass him. Yeah. You know, that way if he comes in again cuz I know we can't really >> Go ahead, officer. >> Get him. You know, we could get his ID and all that. >> I can go in there. >> Say he wants to trespass him. So, we need to confirm if he wants to sign complaints for the retail theft because he viewed them going past the last point of sale or if he wants them just trespass because I know they don't really do much for theft no more. You know what I mean? >> If you guys get them whatever you think. >> So, cuz I'm new to the store, but I don't >> How much money do you think it was? >> I was going to go in there and start pulling putting all that stuff. >> Do you think it's over 300? >> I'm not sure. I know he had some big bags of dog food. I don't know what else was in the car. Officers confirm the theft exceeded $300, qualifying it for a retail theft charge. The store manager agrees to sign a complaint and trespass the suspect to prevent future incidents. >> Okay. >> Why don't you get this gentleman's information so we have it? >> Yep. >> Did you get your license on you? >> Yeah. >> Oh, no. It's in my car, actually. >> All right. Just grab his name and his phone number. >> Mind if I go catch my breath? Cuz I'm only mad at you here while I >> Yeah. Let them grab your information real quick. Just so when we find them, we got to know what to do. >> Let's go try getting a dollar amount and deciding what we're going to do for charges. If we do find them, >> let's just go park up by the front doors and let's see what kind of dollar amounts we have. He said he was past the last point of sale, so he knows the deal, but he's saying I want him trespass. We need to determine if he wants to charge him with the retail theft. just park right there or if he just wants an animal complaint. >> Yeah, I heard that. I didn't >> We got enough to detain him for now, but we're not going to be taking him in if he's not going to sign complaints for retail. >> It's not over. >> We can still charge him. >> We could >> I could ask them. >> What do you think it is? Why don't we ring it up real quick? >> That stuff's expensive. >> I know. I'm not sure. That's why I'm not sure if >> Yeah, let's go. Let's go do a quick. >> No, >> I know. I know. >> So, you see total amount. >> Yeah. So, it's over felony. >> Oh, that's all. >> Oh, cuz in the city I thought it was different over there. I think you got like 1500 or something. >> No. >> 300. >> Oh, okay. >> So, you're pretty said you'll sign a complaint from retail traffic. We go find. Police track the suspect's movements, discovering he ran behind a nearby building called Shockwave. They check his girlfriend's residence, but she claims he isn't home. >> And we got his phone number. >> Where'd you stop at? >> Right here, right in a little before that car. >> Oh, so all the way in the parking lot is where >> the street in the middle of the street. >> And that's where you took possession of the car? >> Yeah, I just ran up straight to the car. I didn't tried grabbing him. I just ran up to the car, grabbed him like, "Where you going?" He started walking away. uh >> started walking this way. >> Okay. So, the cart was all the way in the lot. Obviously, >> it was right here in the middle. >> He had no intentions of >> I was already paying attention cuz I saw him going and he went around. I picked up the phone right where I was right there. I was already keeping my eye on a customer >> and Yeah. I saw him go around and he straight out speeding. >> Okay. >> I just ran off. I'm like, man, hold on. >> Okay. >> When he was walking, he was see where that little silver truck is right there. >> Yeah. >> All right. Well, sounds like you got this kind of narrowed down a little bit. So, I think you were spot on. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, I walked the back of the residence. She checked his room. Doors were closed. Uh, he's supposedly not in there. Um, but she doesn't know what he was wearing when he left. >> Can we talk to her and ask her if she she doesn't know what he was wearing when he left? She didn't see him. What time did he leave? >> All right, let's go talk to her. Figure this out. >> Hey, crew. While we do this, would you watch cuz he's probably laying down out here somewhere. After searching the area, an officer spots the man hiding in bushes behind Shockwave. The suspect complies when called out and is taken into custody without resistance. >> I'll go back. >> Yeah, he walks boldlegged. They said like >> um this is getting my arm stuck. Is it the gentleman in the middle here? >> Yes. >> At the Bears game. They're doing good today. You watching a game or no? >> Oh, no. >> You don't watch football? >> No. Really? >> You don't know about Caleb? Caleb's gonna kill it for us. >> Thank you, dear. All right, we'll leave you alone now. 10 minutes. You're out of here. >> We want to see the supervisor. >> Yeah, I got >> Yeah, creep up the light. >> After speaking to the girlfriend of the alleged shoplifter, officers start searching the yard in case he's hiding in the bushes somewhere. Heat. Heat. 315 31 I got him laying down in some bushes behind shock wave slightly to the west that backyard you saw me go into. Hey sir. Sir, can you just walk out to me? I don't want to do the whole rumble and thank you. Not the biggest deal. Okay. >> Don't get hurt on the way out. That's all I ask. Why you laying down back here in the middle of the woods? >> Huh? >> Why you in the woods? >> Does this got to do with Marianos? >> Is it? During questioning, the man denies stealing, claiming he was being followed and didn't actually leave the store with groceries. >> Come on out. Let's talk. You okay? Yeah. >> Let's get some of those stickers off you. All right. So, just tell me what's going on that you were hiding back there in the >> Well, I came out of the store and he was following me saying, "I'm going to report you and stuff." So, I just said, "Um, I just kept walking. I came over here." >> He say he said he stopped you after you left the store when you were in the park. >> No, he stopped me before I left the store. And I came outside and he said, "I'm going to follow you the next time you come here. I've seen you here several times." I've only been to store one time. >> You live here, right? >> No, I don't live here. >> Oh, you live in this this house here. >> Oh, no. I was just sitting back here. >> I didn't want I Where do you live at? Let me ask that. >> I live in Juliet. >> You live in Juliet? You got ID? >> I got my ID. I >> You got ID? >> Yeah. >> Do you got a car? >> No, not with me now. >> Okay. So, I'll just tell you what we got. We got a guy described as looking like you wearing a pink shirt with a reflective vest. You guys see any? >> I have seven times. >> You still drive? >> I do here and there. >> Okay. Just keep your hands out of your pockets. You got anything else on you? >> No. >> Okay. So, the way this works in the state of Illinois, >> it's pretty easy, right? We get some honesty. We get to the bottom of it. If I get >> the suspect admits he abandoned the cart after being confronted. He says he only wanted food for himself and his dogs. >> Mr. Okay. You like Mr. or you like >> Thanks. Whatever. You got a second ID cuz that one's not for identification for some reason. >> Well, I have the copy of my >> He's running one right now. >> LCC Frank. I got another copy. You ready? >> All right. So, the The gentleman over here, >> does he have any reason to lie to me about what occurred? So, is that what occurred today? >> Actually came to the parking lot when he got the cart from you and then you decided the door. I just I just came out. I heard him running behind me. I just left the car and just walked off and followed me. So, I came. >> So, the video is going to reflect that you were outside the store with the groceries. >> Do you need the groceries? Is that what it is? Are you on hard times, man? >> Well, I just have some food and my dogs and stuff. So, I It's >> You got dogs? Okay. So that's your cart with all the dog food. Okay. All right. >> Do you have a car here that's got dogs in it or anything you got to be worried about? >> No kids. No dogs. Is there a car over there that belongs to you? >> No. >> How'd you get out here? >> I just got I caught a ride up here. >> Okay. Is there anybody waiting on you that we need to notify? I just want to make it easy on you if you got a wife or anybody waiting. >> No. Okay. So, here's how it's going to work. We're going to look at your CQ, which is your criminal history. Most likely we don't detain for retail theft. You'll receive your charge and you'll be out of here. >> Okay. >> We'll release you with a court date for it. Not a big deal, right? >> Big deal. Shouldn't be doing it. >> Okay. I agree. I agree. I agree. >> You got any more questions for us right here? >> I don't have any more questions. >> Have you have the right to remain silent? Anything you say will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer before answering any questions. And you have >> by policy. We got to have them. You put it in front of me. >> A dog bed of a truck. The color didn't need to be. >> Can you get your foot on? >> All right. Go ahead. Which one's bothering you? This one more than >> After cooperating and admitting his involvement, the man is arrested and charged with theft, but later released the same day with a court summons. Honesty catches up faster than you can run, even when hiding in the bushes. Small crimes may seem minor, but they still lead to lasting consequences. But this is still not the worst case. Just wait until you see this next one. >> Open closed. You never know. You just got to try it All right, go ahead and put your hands behind your back for me. >> What's wrong with your arm? Is it broken or >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> Police respond to a call on March 25th, 2024 about a woman stealing from a Walmart. Would you come over here with me? >> Where? >> Over in this way. >> For what? >> So, we're doing an investigation right now. Apparently, somebody walked out with a >> car and put it in a random car. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that was me. >> Okay. Would you come over by the car with us? >> Whose car is it? >> What do you mean? >> Whose car is it? >> I don't know. >> Me neither. >> Okay. All right. She insists the game is fun while the officer reminds her that theft leads to jail. >> You have no idea what kind of car? >> No, because y'all were coming and I just ran up to the car and put It's a game replay. It's called 21. It's basically you go and steal all the [ __ ] that you can steal and you get out without getting caught. Well, I did it one other time than this time, but I got caught this time. I lied to you. >> Her boyfriend rented the car. >> Yeah, he rented the car. >> Hold on one second. >> Real quick before we go any further. Okay. >> She's just going to read the right to remain silent. >> Okay. blah blah blah blah blah. >> Well, we we still have to read it before we can talk. >> It's like music to my ears. >> Anything you say can and will be used against you in court law, you have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you while you are being questioned. Not right now. >> Well, cuz I need to tell him I got in trouble. >> Well, we'll worry about that in a second. But right now, I need to figure out how much >> What's that? >> She wants to call her boyfriend. I said no. Officers read her Miranda rights before continuing the interview. She again insists it's her boyfriend's rental that he's innocent. >> Can I ask why? >> Because right now we're conducting an active investigation. >> What is the investigation? I just told you. >> I told to confirm it. Right. >> Fox 221. >> Okay. >> So, where where was the car right now? Yeah. >> Okay. Well, we know what we know. >> Yeah. Can you turn AC on? >> I I will. I rolled the window down for you. >> All right. >> Just like all this plastic is hard sometimes to get air back. >> My back seat on. >> After detaining the suspect, officers searched her vehicle. Inside they found stolen merchandise, several types of drugs, a firearm, and various illegal items hidden inside the car. The suspect was taken into custody, and Amber is arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including drug trafficking, grand theft, and firearm possession. The suspect becomes confused and defensive, insisting she did nothing wrong. >> Can we get an investigation? But they told me you were walking out of the store. >> Why? Why wouldn't I walk out? I didn't do anything. Let's come over to my car. Okay. >> What picture? It's the same. >> Uh, >> what is going on? >> So, at this time, we're detaining you because we uh got a call phone call from Ulta about a bottle shop in progress. Okay. And then they advised me in a purple cardigan. Okay. Took off. And as you can tell, we we made eye contact like we were passing by. >> You were cutting like I was walking across the you almost hit me. They search her bag and detain her in the patrol car, reminding her of her rights. >> Right now, you're detained. So, I'm going to read your rights. You're not technically under arrest yet cuz I don't know everything that's going on, but because I have handcuffs on you, I got to read your rights. Okay. Do you have any weapons on you? All right. Just stand here with your feet spread for me and uh just chill for a sec. Okay. This is yours. >> All right. >> Actually, let's step back here for a second. Let me grab my phone. Yes, sir. >> We'll go around the other side. Hold on. Have a see here. Nothing in your pockets or anything. Don't see how there's nothing in here. I've already searched it. Just make sure you don't take anything out and put it in here. Okay. Yep. >> There you go. Three Charles. Go ahead. >> She had the case number from the other day. >> That's okay. That's attached. The officer explains she's required to identify herself because of reasonable suspicion of shoplifting. She hesitates but eventually provides her ID. >> So nothing, >> no wallet, no ID, nothing. >> My wallet? I don't Oh, I'm actually I might have my I have uh a key on me in my pocket right here. And I think I have my whatchamacallit in this zipper. your whatchamacallit. What's that mean? Your ID, >> I think. Yeah, I do have a ID in my watch. Yeah. >> You mind me getting it out? >> Yes, sir. But if you have her on video and it matches their suspect from this case already uploaded all that to the evidence portal. >> Can I see it now? >> Absolutely. >> Okay. Actually, you know what? I might be able to pull it up on my You know, Yeah. I'll be able to pull it up on my computer. Hold on. Here. Baby. Okay. >> Where did you find this? >> They stashed it in the store when they were dumping everything when they saw it. >> Where did they dump it? >> Uh over towards that center. >> They just turned it upside down, dumped a whole bunch. >> They just Yeah, they did. >> During questioning, one suspect eventually admits being homeless and trying to sell stolen goods for money to get a haircut. The officer suggests they might be reselling on Offer Up or similar platforms. >> Now I'm feeling really guilty and anxious just because she was wearing a mask. >> No worries. >> Yeah. I have to blame you back there. >> No, no. >> Absolutely certain. Okay. >> Okay. Thank you. >> So, there's there like I said, there's another >> be absolutely sure of me. I don't know her. >> Well, I understand that she doesn't have to know you, but she saw she thought you were that individual over there >> cuz we're together. >> That's why we're here. We didn't we didn't just choose you and the other male who we were out with. >> Okay. >> We didn't just choose you guys, >> okay? >> You know what I mean? like I didn't that has nothing to do with whatever your race is. No, we got called here specifically. >> Okay. And then when you walked away and they were like, "Oh, well that's her over there." >> Okay, let's Can we uh >> we'll move forward the process? Okay. >> You want to talk to me and tell me why you're taking this stuff or you guys >> No, I can't talk to you. I was Just trying to get her out of the store. I wasn't >> I'm talking about I'm talking about the photo I just showed you. Are you want to talk to me about the theft? >> No. Yeah. I don't I don't know anything. >> You don't know how I got that photo? >> I don't. >> Of you stealing at the store. >> With the same jacket? >> I've never been here before. >> That's not true. >> I've never >> It's a picture perfect picture of you with your same jacket. Same hairdo, same everything. >> Yeah, when they made my jacket, they didn't stop. >> Everything's the same. The only thing different is your pants. >> Yeah. >> Are you want to talk to me about why you stole the other day? >> I mean, what do you want me to talk to you about? I'm >> What's the purpose? Are you guys selling on Offer Up? Are you guys need money? Are you guys, you know, living on the street? What's going on? >> Yeah, I'm living on the street. >> Okay. Both suspects continue denying prior involvement despite being shown clear video evidence. The male suspect tries to downplay his role, saying he didn't know what was going on. >> You know, this is like an ongoing thing. If you guys come back here and then come back here again a second time. >> Oh, right. Right. Right. >> Why are you guys keep doing it? You might >> Yeah, that's what I was saying. I didn't I've never been here to >> You're saying you never been here? >> Yeah. I I don't mean to, you know, give you a hard time or anything, but I don't think I've been here before. >> Well, you're just not telling the truth, that's all. You're not giving me a hard time. >> Oh, yeah. No, >> for some reason, you don't want to tell the truth. >> Yeah. I don't I don't know. >> You're getting Who is her? How is she related to you? >> Yeah. Is >> she your girlfriend? >> No. >> Huh? Wife? >> No, sir. Just a friend. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And whose idea was it to come in here and do the game? >> Yeah. And that's what I was saying. I don't know that it was anyone's idea. Um, more or less. I was >> Well, it has to be an idea if you get caught doing it before. We got video and it got a case number from you doing it before. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. >> And now you're back in the same store with both of you doing the same thing. >> Yeah. Exactly. I didn't know. >> So, I'm just trying to figure out who's whose idea who's the mastermind of this. >> Right. I didn't know that I had did it before. Um um and yeah, again, I was >> Were you under the influence of something? Is that why? >> Yeah, I was just trying to get um get her get her out of there. Yeah. I didn't know that's what had been going on. I was kind of taking all it back. Um >> the other day when you were in here? >> No, no, no. I'm not I'm talking about today. I don't know anything about the other day is what I'm trying to still denying being in here and stealing. >> Yeah, the other day. No, no, no. Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Like I don't know about that. But um yeah, I would whatever I can do like I'm under arrest, right? I have to go through >> right now. Yeah, I you're not clearing it up. She showed me the photo. I got a case number. It matches you perfectly. So, you're under arrest for the theft yesterday. >> You guys left this yet the other day. I got to look it up. I wasn't the officer that took the report, so I have no idea exactly what day it was. I just know it. >> The male suspect gives conflicting stories about transportation. First, saying he took the bus later, admitting he came in a rental car with his wife. going forward. >> I can't because it was it was several thousand dollars worth of stuff. So, it's a felony. >> Yeah. Okay. >> We don't mail stuff for felonies. >> Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. >> But you don't want to talk about it. You don't want to tell me the truth. So, >> yeah. I didn't Yeah. Exactly. I wasn't aware that that's what had taken place or what was going on. >> Okay. >> Yeah. How did you guys get here? >> I took the bus. I mean, I don't really >> So, is her story going to match yours? >> I I doubt it cuz that's what I'm saying. We probably met each other in the store. We probably didn't even plan to see each other here. >> You probably met each other in the store. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay. >> No, like you could be accomplishes that bumped into each other in this. >> Yeah, but it's not true. >> They got it yesterday. >> Was it yesterday or day before yesterday? >> Yes. I don't know. >> Didn't you take that case? >> No. Uh they were there. >> So, just bear with me. Okay. >> The store. >> So, I got to look up his reports. Make sure he's got PC for both. >> Yeah. If one's just standing in there, you know, nothing, then like, you know what I'm saying? >> So, is it a >> They dumped it before they saw me pull up. >> Okay. >> And so, they dumped it and then she's like, "There he is right there." >> Yeah. >> And I didn't know where the other one was, so I went right to him. >> And then as I puffed him up, she's like, "The other one's in a purple cardigan." >> Yeah, you're fine. The other one's in a party again and we're walking and I'm transmitting but you guys >> Yeah, we >> All right, Calvin. I need to make sure you don't have anything on you now. You're technically under arrest when I'm out here. Step over here for me. Real wide. got a shirt underneath this. >> Yeah. >> Have you been arrested for uh shoplifting? Staff didn't notice during the theft because the pair acted calmly, but video review later revealed them taking 19 bottles from locked glass cases. >> We downloaded I saw that we're looking for a list. The officer who wrote the report said you were going to submit a list and she's she's not here today. >> It wouldn't let me do the PDF, but I have the list right here. >> Okay. Could you print that out for me? >> I sure can. Yeah, that >> and you put that list together by review and video to see which ones they were taken. >> So the way that I do the lists is I review video and on the video I can very clearly see this shelf like this unit this shelf right side how many bottles were taken and then I go in and I count those specific bottles and compare it. Like if I see three bottles removed from that shelf, I go and I count versus our inventory which three bottles are missing. And our inventory is accurate because it's behind class cases. >> Got was in here yesterday. There were two days ago. >> Were you watching them on video then call this or did you call after they left and then watched the video? How did that work? >> I called them after they left because actually Samantha here at guest service that they're quiet and polite. So we didn't even realize what was happening until they beeped on the way out. And then I came back here, watched the video, >> saw that they had I can show you how they get into the cases >> and because they just lift up the shelf. >> I saw the video you submitted >> and uh and that's when I saw and that's when I called PD and it was 19 bottles in total. But the way that I get to the number is I physically see on video 19 bottles go missing and I see where they go into the bag and then I just I can see like pink bottle from this shelf from this side and I just count all those. >> Okay. And >> against their inventory. against your inventory. Okay. >> That's in the car. I don't know if that's specific to Ulta or >> Do they come in and then leave then come back? >> Um, this isn't sold here. >> Okay. >> This might be Bevel is sold here. >> Bevel is. >> Yeah, cuz he asked me where the beard stuff was at. So, yeah, we sell all of that. >> Yes, he did. >> Yeah. >> So, that might have been from what from us. That probably was from today cuz I took him over there. >> I'll have to look. >> Did you see him select anything two days ago and put it in the bag? >> No, he was with her the entire time um pointing at cases and looking keeping a watch out for her and talking to her to keep her distracted. >> Okay. Um it looked like one of the videos I saw almost looked like he did pull something out and then kind of walked over to her. You didn't see that? That was two days ago. >> Yeah, two days ago. Um >> he might have. There's so many videos that I pulled. It's at at some point he did hold something and hand it to her. I remember that, >> but I can I can we can also zoom in on >> You have any questions about what's going on now? >> Yeah, >> we'll be going to Thirsten County Jail for the theft from two days ago. You guys ditched the property today, but I'll include the videos and stuff of you guys doing what you were doing today as well as from 2 days ago. And then you'll be charged with a felony theft. And if you have any recent thefts, do you have any recent shopliftings? Because if you do, >> you know, if you have three within was it 180 days, it's an automatic felony. Even if you stole a piece of bubble gum. >> Yeah. Yeah. I never done this. Okay. But >> yeah, the only question is just again like me being late for my son and the haircut, getting my wife back or >> Yeah, you'll have to >> what you call it cuz uh >> you'll have to give them a call from jail. >> Yeah, that's what I was wondering. Yeah. How long till the >> Well, your ride just got here. So, we'll put you in their car. >> Where am I at right now? >> What city are you in? >> Yeah. Lacy. >> We're in Lacy. >> You drove here and you don't know what city? >> You said I'm going where? And you said I'm getting ready to go. >> I'm saying you drove here and you don't know what city you're in. >> Radio. >> That's what I >> Are you under the influence of something that where you don't know where you are? >> No, not at all. >> Usually people that get off the freeway know what city they're in. usually. >> All right. So, yeah. Thank you for >> So, this is your wife's car? >> Yeah, it's just >> So, you didn't So, you lied when you said you took the bus. >> Yeah. No. Yeah. So, my wife Yeah. >> So, let me run an errand. I told her >> why lie about how you got here. >> Oh, rental. >> It's not your wife's car. It's a rental. >> Yeah, that's my wife's rental. Okay. >> Hi. I need to take a quick photo of you. Okay. I need to take this off for a sec. And I can put it right back on. >> Um, cuz you're under rep. Can you look forward, please? >> I'd rather not. >> I can't hear you. >> I'd rather not. >> I'm going to take a photo of you whether you like it or not. >> Take your hand off me. >> So, you understand why you're being arrested? Yes or no? Yes or no? >> Thank you. >> Do you understand why you're being arrested? I'm the arresting officer, so I'm just asking you a simple question. Do you understand? Do you have any questions? >> Police confirm both suspects will face felony theft charges and will be trespassed from all Ulta stores. She on my porch and I got my gun. >> I don't know her. >> Female black lady. >> This right here is the front porch where the incident allegedly went down. Now, it's not every day that officers get dispatched to handle a report of someone pooping on another person's doorstep. That doesn't look like they deficated on their knee. Unless they use the toilet, maybe. >> What are you talking about? >> What are you talking about? >> So, this this lady did, >> man. I work with her. I kicked her off the bus. I'm in my car. She was in your car. >> No, she was walking down the street and seeing out here yelling. At this point, the officers didn't seem entirely sure whether they were dealing with a burglary attempt or just an unfortunate case of someone who couldn't hold it any longer. But judging from the woman's shouting and the choice of words she used, >> you can see her right there with her pants down pissing on my porch. >> Put that down. Put it down. >> What? This is my house. She's open. I >> My husband is not at home. >> Okay. Well, we have to figure out what's going on. He's making some pretty serious accusations. >> Okay. >> Honestly, when I first heard those racial slurs, I expected to see someone who looked like a toothless, strung out homeless addict. To my surprise, she looked completely ordinary at first glance. >> Will you lock my door because I have my husband's assets in there? >> I need to lock my door. >> I've been robbed. You know what? I'm suing you. >> Everybody's body cams are on. I don't care. You didn't know every killed over here over the corner claim over sovereign immunity. Have good luck. Good luck. What do you mean? >> As officers escorted her to the police car, she didn't stop shouting profanity after profanity the whole way. By now, it's pretty clear the vile language, the aggression, and even the act of defecating on a neighbor's porch all point to one thing. >> Hey, it's documented in court. Okay. You know what else happens when you lie about stuff like that? >> Shut up. I have a right to an attorney. >> Why are you so angry? >> Seriously, [ __ ] >> Do you have anything on you going to poke me? Stick me. >> No, [ __ ] I don't do drugs. >> I have a law degree. >> Get this done over with, [ __ ] Get it done. >> You really have to give credit to the officers for keeping their composure. It was obvious to them that mental health issues were at play. And despite the suspect's constant swearing, threats of violence, and even death threats, they stayed calm, collected, and professional throughout the entire situation. >> I'm talking about this right here. Hatfield 315. >> Yes. >> Knock it off. >> You are not doing that. >> Spread your feet out. >> Are you really trying? >> Spread your feet out. >> Get away from >> spread your feet out. >> Man, you could have did this in my house. >> I search you in your house. Remember when she claimed she had a law degree? Just imagine if lawyers behaved like this in a courtroom. I'd watch that every single day. It would be the wildest show on earth. >> I just Okay, >> that's cool. That's what they pay me for. I don't mind. >> Those handcuffs hurt on you. >> If you would relax and calm down, we put >> I'm not even mad. This is an attempt to collect a dick. Okay. >> Okay. We're the court of clays. Flat L. Get the OUT OF HERE. GO TO OHIO STATE. >> It's on the 14th floor of the Supreme Court. >> Once again, the sheer chaos of the suspect's behavior is completely contrasted by the calmness of the officers. Not one of them loses their composure. Not a single voice is raised. They handle the entire situation with steady professionalism. >> Cracker. CRACKER. PACKER. WHAT? WHAT THE? STOP ACTING LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE COURT OF CLAIMS IS. >> But the princess >> go away. >> I didn't mean to put my hand in your face. >> At some point during all this chaos, the supervisor showed up on scene and officer Headfield began giving him a rundown of the situation. I won't rehash the parts you already know, but here's where it gets interesting. The details you haven't heard yet. So the obstruction resisting at what point did she obstruct? At what point did she resist? >> So they told her to stop. She came towards the address and was yelling at him saying the racial slurs threatening him. >> Ma'am, you're now trespassing from my property and if you come back. >> In the end, the suspect was trespassed and charged. But the real question was how to handle someone clearly struggling with serious mental issues. Fortunately for her, the Franklin County Court of Common Please has a system designed for cases like this. The mental health diversion program.
