Cuz I'm a videoraph, right? I'm a videoraph, right? >> You're going to kick me. >> I'm a videograph. >> I'm a video, right? Yep. >> Am I out of I'm a minor around you? That won't happen. >> Hey everyone, it's Trent, prior deputy sheriff, patrol sergeant, and K9 handler. Driving under the influence is obviously a very serious offense. And thousands of people lose their lives every single year as a result of DUI. But if you're under the age of 21, you cannot operate a motor vehicle with any measurable amount of alcohol in your system. Not to mention, this suspect was driving 64 m an hour in a 30 mph zone, putting everyone else on the roadways lives in jeopardy. Not to mention his own and the other two occupants of the vehicle. So, he definitely needed to go. And what this officer was trying to explain about the license light, there is a little tiny light right above your license plate that illuminates and makes the license plate more visible during nighttime hours. And it is a very common and easy way to get pulled over. The third girl, the 18-year-old, definitely walked herself into those handcuffs. These officers gave her multiple opportunities to chill out and she just wasn't going to listen. And more than likely, there was some alcohol on board her system as well, but she was definitely the cause of her own arrest. The second girl, the 21-year-old, the one that this officer was lecturing on hanging out with people substantially younger than her, which is kind of weird. He made it sound like she was 35 years old or something. She's with somebody that's 19 and 18. That is definitely not a huge age difference. However, she is still technically the only one that that is legally able to consume and possess alcohol. And there's really no way to prove if she provided the alcohol to the suspect or not, unless somebody wants to admit to that fact. But either way, she did technically still commit a crime of contributing to the delinquency of a minor by being in that vehicle while the suspect was driving under the influence and driving in the manner that he was because that did put him at the misdemeanor threshold for reckless driving. Now, she probably can't control his actions, but it was probably in her best interest if we are to go the lecture route for her just to not be in the vehicle whatsoever. That being said, because she was being cool and cooperative, unlike that third girl, they could have easily cited and released her on scene, left her with the vehicle in her possession, assuming that she was not too impaired to drive, and assuming the registered owner okayed that, instead of having to tow the vehicle, and also take her to jail. But they obviously decided to go ahead and take everybody to jail anyway. And that's going to be it for this one. See you guys in the next one. >> The underage driver was charged with driving under the influence, DUI, speeding over the limit, running a red light, illegally transporting alcohol, and having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. The woman was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The underage girl was charged with obstructing, resisting arrest, two counts of aggravated battery on a police officer, and aggravated assault for kicking and hitting officers at the detention center. She also faced a charge for unlawful use of a weapon after officers found a kubaton and pepper spray in her purse. [Music] [Music]
