When they tell you to turn around, put your hands behind your back, it's implied that you're under arrest. No. >> Okay. >> You You Whoever grabbed me by on the shoulder and can I explain to you why I'm here? Or at least finish trying to explain to you why I'm here. >> I I mean, you can't try. >> Okay. I'm trying to, but you can't. >> I'm trying to listen. Can I scoot up and talk to you like a person? >> Sure you can. >> Then why did you sit in the door in my >> Well, because you've been kicking and spitting at people and inside this cruiser, so I didn't want to get kicked or spit on. >> I don't want to get touched and handcuffed for nothing. >> Okay. Well, you did you shoplift today? >> No, >> you didn't. No, I thought it was a courtesy. >> You thought it was a courtesy because I think restaurant or businesses just give out free stuff as a >> courtesy. The woman on the first register said okay. >> Okay. That no >> to me. >> You initially told the officer that she nodded at you instead of >> So hold on one second. >> All right. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to read you your Miranda warning before I start talking to you in the first place cuz we're having conversations that are started to be admissions and and retractions of guilt. So you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can will be used against you in a court of law. talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you. >> She denies stealing most items but admits to taking chips without paying, claiming hunger and confusion >> before any questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time uh to exercise these rights. >> Who am I? What am I getting charged with? I >> cannot afford to hire a lawyer. I won't be appointed to represent you before any question. >> A lawyer for who? Now for you at this point. >> Do you understand what I just read to you? >> No, cuz you just said it out loud looking around. >> Okay. Do you know what your Miranda rights are? >> What would you like me to say? do them again cuz I will >> at this point. Find me guilty for something I didn't do. You will. >> Okay. Do you understand what your Miranda rights are? >> I understand that you're talking and you didn't read anything off. You're looking around looking at me. >> You're right cuz I'm I'm quoting them from memory. >> That's good. >> Okay. Would you like me to say them again so that you understand them or you have a question about what they mean? >> I had I definitely heard you the first time and you weren't looking at me when you said it. >> Do you understand what they mean? >> And I said it again. They will. >> Who will? Do you understand what you're doing? Write to me. >> I'm on the way to my mother's house, >> okay? >> And I have to go take care of my grandmother who lives on her brick. >> And I'm I am hungry. It wasn't a those chips. >> Alexander, >> I haven't ate them in a while. I was chilling. I swear to God, I haven't had these in a while. Fritos. If I wasn't chilling, they would be a different kind or something stupid. And I'm sorry that Well, I'm not sorry for something like I was on the way to my house. myself. >> So, did you take those items from the store? >> No, except the chips. >> Where'd you get the Where'd you get the chips from? >> I don't know why I'm stressing about it. That's what I found. >> Okay, Anna, where did you get the chips from? >> The ginger. Yeah, >> where did you get those items from? >> Um, I don't Dollar Tree, Dollar General. >> Okay. The one right down the street on exchange. >> I'm not sure. There's like three of them. >> Okay. >> But you got them from a store? >> Yes. >> Did you pay for them at the store? >> Um, I mean, no. Not with money. >> Okay. All >> right. Did you Did you assume that you paid for them some other way? How did you assume in what manner did you assume that you paid for those first registered? No. Stop. I don't know. I know. I didn't want anything. I don't know. I don't know. >> The officer reiterates that taking items without paying is illegal. The suspect argues about circumstances. >> Okay. So you you you said that you you paid for them in a in a fashion other than money >> like store credit. >> Store credit. Do you have credit in an open line of credit with the store? >> Action is where I be >> I'm going to I'm going to say that we did not pay for these things. >> Pay for me. >> No, I I could not. >> Well, that's my [ __ ] >> I understand >> the the drink and the Fritos that I like chips. >> I get that. But you didn't pay for them. You just took so the store >> So the store called >> and said that you guys shoplifted those items from the store >> except >> and then the officer found you down here around the corner. >> Wait, where? >> Right here where we're standing or where where you're sitting. Actually, you guys were standing right there. >> Can I have Can I tell my >> Hold on one second. Let me finish Let me finish my conversation with you first. Okay. >> He wanted to take a shower. >> So the officer came around here, found you guys standing here, >> okay? And and asked you guys to stop, >> which you guys did. You did initially, >> right? >> Okay. Then he had a conversation with you. >> Almost done. >> Not under 72 hours ago. >> Okay. >> This trying to get it finished. >> So he asked you guys to stop what you did. About a thousand to one that don't struggle that do struggle. >> Okay. Well, I struggled bec because why? You didn't say put your hands behind my back. Okay. I don't know what I don't know what you're proving or trying to. I just want to I want to get my tattoo finished. >> Okay. >> And I and I was on my way. >> And at any point in time, do you recall kicking or pinching or >> anything the officer? >> No, not purposely. >> Not purposely. >> No, but it was a fight. >> You did any of that? >> It was a fight or Yes. Yes. >> Is it possible that you did any >> It's a fight orflight risk. >> Do you understand by doing that or attempting to do that could be con uh construed as resisting arrest? >> I could see how that looks, but I'm not in danger. not a police officer. >> I understand, but I don't you know, I don't have a I have >> it wasn't out of I don't have any malicious intent or you know, I'm okay. I'm not tripping. I'm not high. I'm not coming down. I was on the way to my my family's house to shower. >> Well, I I would consider some of your behavior a little bit odd. >> Why? >> Because you're just not acting normal. How am I I don't How am I supposed to act? >> Well, because your your thoughts are are discombobulated. >> I mean, is it caught me off guard >> a little bit? You're down a little bit. You're up a little bit. You're down a little bit. >> Please leave me alone. I want to go home and and he was he was he was walking me to the house on that's >> okay. So, can I ask you one more time? You said the officer used unreasonable force. Could you define or put it into words what kind of unreasonable force the officer used? >> He He grabbed me and put me under constraint. >> Yeah. and didn't let me and didn't tell me to like he didn't >> Okay, so your complaint is that he put you into handcuffs without telling you you were under arrest. >> Yeah, >> that's what you're saying. >> I don't know. I shouldn't I don't be I I didn't say anything at all to be honest with you. >> Okay. Well, do you have any other complaints or concerns other than the fact that you're in handcuffs and under arrest? >> Do you like my tattoo? Yes or no? >> Um it's hard to tell what it is from in there, but yeah, it looks great. >> Thank you. >> If you like it, I like it. >> Well, I just got it and I'm trying to go get it finished. >> Okay. >> Okay. Is there anything else? >> No, that's it. Do you have anything else for me? >> Well, the address I'm trying to walk over to with no issue or you know, I don't have a car. Do you want Do you want the address? Cuz there's no That's my >> That's not necessary right now. We'll be back over and talk to you here shortly. Okay. >> Can you roll the window up? >> Further arguments about whether force was excessive, whether she was told she was under arrest, and her justifications. At the end, she's charged with theft and probation violation. The male suspect is charged with theft only. Stealing out of desperation still carries consequences. Poverty doesn't justify breaking the law. Respecting authority and cooperating calmly can prevent minor mistakes from becoming serious crimes. What an unyielding shoplifter. The next shoplifter will react much more violently. So keep an eye out. >> No, bro. You're harassing me. You're harassing me. Stop. On April 11th, 2022, police responded to a shoplifting call at Ulta Beauty, where employees reported two teenage girls stealing several bottles of perfume worth about $200, $300 before leaving without paying. >> Called about the shoplift. Yeah. >> Was anything actually taken? >> Yes. >> Okay. Perfumes. >> Perfumes. >> Yeah, there's a manager. >> Hello. >> Hi. just call her that like >> Yeah, I have the other officers kind of look in the area right now while I um kind of figure out what what happened here. >> Oh yeah, they they just she just came in and she was looking around customer service for a while and then she walked out with a bunch of crackers in her hand. Um she hit me up with a friend as she was walking out. They went to TJ Maxx. I don't know if they're still there. Did they go inside or Yeah, I did see them go inside and I did call TJ Maxx. Let them know as well. I was like, "Hey, the people that just stole from me store um Oh, maybe like 5 minutes. Not that long. >> Less than 15 minutes. >> Yeah, less than 15. Manager here said that our suspects walked into TJ Maxx about 5 minutes ago. >> Yeah. Um, one is wearing I wrote it down. >> The alter manager describes the suspects. One wearing a gray sweater, dark blue sweats, and a bucket hat with a face tattoo. and the other with blonde hair and a blue backpack. >> Gray sweater, blue dark blue sweats, and then a dark blue bucket hat. The other one's blonde hair. >> So, wait, the first one is >> uh gray gray sweater, dark blue sweats, and then a dark blue bucket hat and she has like a tattoo underneath her eye above her hand. >> So, they're two different. >> Um Well, the the second person, this is the one that left a mess. The second one is the one that she met up with. So, like as soon as she walked out, she met up with another person. >> Okay. Yeah. Hello. Welcome in. >> And the person she met up with is the blonde hair. >> Yes. >> Just for information, the suspect met up with another female who has blonde hair, blue dressing backpack, and then a blue backpack and leggings. >> Okay. And about how many how much in fragrances? Um, I know she stole like I'm not sure dollar amount, but I know she stole about like six. >> Six. Okay. Like is there >> uh usually it's around like 30 >> around like the ones that she sold in like 30. >> So like close to 200 300 >> 200 300. >> Yeah. We were able to like get a few away from her while she were. When confronted, the teen becomes defensive, repeatedly shouting that she's being harassed and refusing to comply with police orders. >> Hey, you. Hi, police. How are you? >> Good. >> Good. Okay. You're being detained right now. >> I'm not doing >> for theft. Nope. You're being detained for theft from Ulta. >> I'm not doing nothing. >> Relax. Relax. >> I'm not doing nothing. >> Put your hands on your back. >> No, I'm not doing nothing. No, you're This is Bro, you're Nah, this is Nah, you're this is illegal, dog. I'm not doing anything. No, you're >> you're harassing me. I'm not doing nothing. >> Put your hands in your back. >> Um, no. You can ask the guards. Am I doing anything wrong? >> No, bro. You're harassing me. You're harassing me. Stop. >> No. You're harassing me. Stop. Stop. Stop. You're harassing me. No. You're harassing me. You're harassing me. Please. Help me. You're harassing me. I'm not doing nothing. You're harassing me. Help me. I wasn't doing nothing. You're harassing me. Hey, Mom. Help me. >> Hey, don't grab my hand. >> I'm not doing nothing. You're harassing me. >> Her shirt up. >> Help me. >> Let me switch. >> Help me. >> I'm not doing it. >> I'm going to pull the top. I'm going to pull it up. Okay. >> A physical struggle ensues as officers try to detain her. The teen screams for help, claims her wrist is broken, and continues resisting arrest while officers handcuff her and escort her outside. >> Sorry. >> Okay, let's walk outside. >> Sorry. >> You guys are me. >> Hold on. Hold your side. Right. Knee straight. Knee straight. >> All right. All right, send up. >> So, I don't know where the other >> she's >> she already. >> Yeah, but she's the main one. >> The other one probably has the fragrances because >> No. >> Stop. No, you're a rabbit. >> No, I got nothing. No, you guys are babies. >> Relax. >> No, no. >> You have handcuffs are broken. >> Help me. My wrist is broken already, bro. I didn't take nothing, bro. >> Okay, let's stand up. >> Go to your side. >> That's mine. your side. We're going to sit up on your knees. >> You got her. Okay. >> Do you have her? Okay. >> Get a good grip on her. I want to get some gloves on. No, you're hurting me. >> Still yelling that she's being harassed and knows her rights. The teen accuses officers of hurting her wrist and violating her rights. Have a seat, please. >> Both feet in do nothing wrong. >> Put feet in the car. >> You arrested me. >> You're under arrest. Put both feet in the car. >> Take those cups off. Please. >> We're trying to take the other cuffs off. Take a chance. I lost it up there. >> My bre there. Lean back. Lean back. You guys are harassing me. I know my rights. You guys are harassing me. >> Police bring an alter employee to identify the suspect, who positively confirms she is the one who stole the perfumes. Officers note the girl's distinctive tattoo under her eye. >> Subject detained. Doesn't involve new. Is there someone that can ID her? >> Yeah. Um, >> okay. I can go with >> you go with me. Okay. >> So, she's detained in in handcuffs. Um just because she's in handcuffs doesn't mean that she's a person that did it. It's just as important to eliminate people uh that are innocent as it is to um ID people for us. So, I'm just have a seat back here in my car. We'll drive over there. If you don't care about getting out and looking at her, you can. Or you can just pull up next to her in the police. >> During questioning, the teen denies stealing, claims she has no merchandise, and accuses officers of physically and verbally harassing her. >> Anything you say Canon will be using a court of law. Do you understand each of these rights I've explained to you? >> Okay. Having those rights in mind, do you want to talk to me about anything that happened today? A manager said that you walked out of Ulta holding merchandise, perfume, about $300 worth. >> I didn't. Do I have any merchandise? >> Huh? >> Do I have any merch? >> She positively identified you as that person. >> Do I have any merchandise? I don't. >> She identified you as the person that walked. >> Any merchandise? >> Well, I understand that you met with someone. >> I don't have nothing. >> Well, then who's the chick who was with you? >> I don't. I was not with nobody. >> Yeah, you were. >> No, I wasn't. >> What? You think that we just walked into TJ Maxx just because we were told that you went in there? That's why we even went in there. They saw you. >> Yeah. >> That's why of all these I don't have anything. >> Out of all these stores we could have come into, you guys are physically harassing me. >> Okay. All right. Do you want to talk to me about anything that happened today? >> No, you guys are physically verbally harassing me. Someone's >> got a chip tooth, she said. Can I take a look? Which one? Oh, did that happen today? >> Yes, it did. >> Right now? >> Yes. >> When did that happen? >> When you me on the floor outside. >> Outside. >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. Um, let me get a photo of that. Just reminding you are being recorded. Okay. Can you take a look at me? Open your mouth. There you go. >> Do you need any medical attention for that? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. And you're sure that happened today? >> Yes, it did. >> Okay. Cuz I when you kind of went down, you landed on top of the officer, so I wanted to >> Because she's a juvenile, the teen is released to a youth transit center instead of being jailed. Police note her grandmother refused to pick her up, citing behavioral problems. >> Okay. All right. I'll take a look at the video and verify that. Any other injuries from today? No. Okay. So, here's what's going to happen. Uh because you're a juvenile, juvenile detention won't take you. Otherwise, you would be going to jail. You're an adult. In a few months, you'll be going to jail for something like this. Um so, we're going to release you at the trans center. I don't want to see you around Fedway the rest of the day. It's time to hop on a bus and go home. Okay. If we get any more calls about you, then we're going to have to take some further action that doesn't >> She is charged with theft, obstruction, and resisting arrest. Actions have consequences. Even small thefts can spiral into serious legal trouble. Taking responsibility is always better than reacting with anger and denial. But this is still not the worst case. Just wait until you see this next one. >> That you said you had eight kids. >> Yes, I have eight. >> Okay. So, there's a kid in the cart and then there's this kid. That's and that's my >> police investigate a cashier accused of repeatedly stealing from her grocery store. She was caught manipulating the register by skipping scans or voiding transactions. Often with the help of another employee kids a lot of times it's just shopping. they would shop. But um and then once they bring it up to the register, she would not scan all the items for her kids or she would void out the entire transaction and allow her kids or herself to walk out with all of the product not paid for. It was 31 instances of that between 6123 through 832. 31 times she did that for totally 14867 of stolen merchants. As long as there's items that she did pay for, that's not included in that total. That's just what was not paid for. What he did, there were four instances where he >> store management reported she had done this more than 40 times, even teaching her kids how to skip scan groceries. Footage showed her deliberately avoiding scans or voiding full transactions for herself and others. >> Can we see the video? >> Sure. When officers arrived, the manager reported that she had stolen over 40 times in just a few weeks and even brought her kids to teach them how to steal. >> Make sure that they're in the car and >> um you want to see either one or >> Yes. So, I have it per day. That's on June 1st through August 3rd. Um, so let's go to we'll go to the first one. So, I'm going to pull up the other camera because this one she has the merchandise off to the side. This is the overhead camera. These are the items. >> Who came up with the items? >> She wrote the items up. >> Okay. >> Um, but it was sitting there for a while. I only say like a small clip because the the longer the radio, the larger the clip, the larger the memory it holds. And so what she does is she only rings up she doesn't ring up I believe it was three items. It was just this these three items. >> Mhm. >> We um was what was identified that was not run up that was total 447. I mean, the first time it was like small, but as she continually got more comfortable what she was doing, um, we started having larger transactions. Like this one was on 621, $106. I can go to $629. So, this was for other people that she uh she knew. I don't know if it's It's not her daughters, but I know that there are other ones with her daughters, but this one is with other people that she knew. I don't know. So, all of these items were not paid for. >> Oh, I know the little girl. >> And her mom works here. >> And so, what she did was she allowed them to ring it up and at the end of it, she voided the entire transaction. Can I see the overhead um computer? I mean camera for this transaction. So that's when they come on. The exit doors are over here. I just have this register. Another cashier identified as her accomplice confessed during questioning. He admitted helping her out of youthful carelessness, saying he didn't fully realize the seriousness of his actions and regretted the mistake. >> Um, depending on the dollar at all. And on this one, I don't think he needed to avoid it because he just didn't scan the items. After gathering all the evidence, officers were ready to question the employee who worked in conjunction with the other. Do you think he'll come clean? Let's find out. >> Hey, how you doing? >> How you doing? >> I'm going have a seat. Okay. >> Yeah. How you doing? What? What's going on, Amarian? Just so you know, you're not a nurse. I just want to know what's going on. Tell me what happened. >> I made a mistake. >> Relax. >> I made a mistake. >> What happened? >> It's not funny. It's just, you know, being young and having an opportunity and just being dumb. And now don't put stuff in jeopardy. Put myself in a position that I don't like to be in. This is embarrassing. But I will I ain't going to cry though. I ain't going to cry. We good. You guys are pretty calm, chill, so I'm not really too much nervous no more after talking. But at the end of the day, just a mistake and and and I'm assuming a proper proceeding is going to happen. So that's I there's not really much to it. The man told me to write that and then just I've been sitting back here since then. So >> Oh, I don't know what he writes. I just want to know what's the mistake. Tell me about it. Uh they said last month they got me for not scanning like what couple items. But then they wanted me to pinpoint how much of this. I'm like I don't know. Like it wasn't like oh for the whole year I've been here or for 6 months or for 5 months as far as like just a month ago. >> So it's not a common thing. It's not a normal thing. He told me everybody he talked to about me they all said the same thing like he's not that type of kid. This that and third and um that's basically where I was at with that situation. um me and him, we just talked about it and he told me to write that and he'll I guess he'll be back and talk to me some more or something like that and I just been waiting since then. That's pretty much the situation at hand. So, I'm just sitting waiting to see what what's going to happen. >> What about the items that you didn't scan? What happened to them? >> Um they're up in the air out the store or either put back into go bags. There's a lot of different things we do with items. But then that's another thing he wanted me to like like the things he wanted me to answer are things like a month or two months ago and I'm like hey I can barely remember things from last week but I can try my hardest to reach jump all the way back then and tell you the best I can and I don't know if that's really much help but >> No, but you said he told me there's some items that wasn't scammed. >> Yeah, he wasn't specific. He wasn't specific on any other stuff like that. Well, he just basically said, "Hey, you've been flagged in the system for this and this is as much this what we got. This is what's going on." But he don't he didn't tell me what items wasn't scanned or nothing like that. He didn't tell me how much or nothing like that. It was just more of a the system is reporting to you. So, we got to do an investigation into what's going on. And that's where I'm at currently with it. >> Do you remember any item not being scanned? Do you remember any item was voided or anything like that? >> Yeah, when it comes to voiding, that's common between the cashiers. Like if a customer doesn't want it or if something happens or if a customer already purchased item and they're just exchanging for another or they damaged their item, it's common for them to just here, hey, I I bought this. And me being the casher has already seen their face. Once they come up, put it in the bag. Here go your bag. going about your day because you already purchased the item prior to this interaction. I've seen your receipt. I've seen the whole prior to that, >> right? >> And I mean, but as far as the store concerned, that's not the correct way to handle things when it comes to that aspect of it. >> Um, that's pretty much it when it comes to register. I don't really keep track of what goes on. But like I said, just being young, being in a position where you want to be beneficial, you want to be helpful, and it's just not the >> What do you mean by being >> No, just in general, like if somebody ask for you, like if you're in a position to to help others, [ __ ] I'm not I'm not This is Okay, so being in a position to help others, >> me, the person at least the person that I I'm not going to speak for everybody. I'll speak for myself. >> Being in a position to help others, the person that I am, I would take that opportunity. But in this instance, me not considering consequences or what is the actual actions that I'm doing, what it could lead, like that aspect of it wasn't being processed. And me being so young and being so quick and at my 18th birthday, I just went to prom. I just went grab bash. I just graduated. Um, I just came from Orlando as a graduation trip. Like all these things are going on. I'm moving so fast. I'm making a little money from Wind Dixie. And you know, everything's going smooth. Nobody's really in my ear telling me nothing. No rights or wrongs. It's just the introduction to her adult life and having all that at once. It just didn't end up making the right decision. And it's unfortunate. >> So what's not the right decision? That's why I'm lost. >> The the not right decision is allowing whether it's willingly well I can't say unknowingly cuz if that's the case then it's not your fault. But just being true to your morals and not allowing items to walk out the store or being honest and scanning everything and doing things of that nature because that's what it is to be an employee. That's somebody is sticking to their morals and that's what I mean by doing the right thing and that's the mistake that was made. >> You already know what it is. Okay, I'm going to send all everything I have to the state attorney and they're the one who's going to make the decision on on making um either making arrest or not making arrest. Okay, but this is serious. >> Police then questioned the mother. She initially downplayed her role, claiming everyone at work did the same thing and offered to just pay it back. >> Yeah, >> different. >> I'm just fat as hell. No. No. Smile. >> You said 101 191. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's me. That's my driver license picture. >> Mhm. You look different though. >> I'm just fat. Stop. >> That's it. >> All right. Anything with him? >> Um he said he he said if you wanted to go down the list again, >> he would try. That's where we at. Just chatting. Let me Can Can you have him step outside real quick? Can you help real quick? Hold on. >> Can I use the bathroom first? >> Use the bathroom. I promise I'm not going to be nasty with you. Okay. >> All right. >> So, if any way I can talk to you, go ahead. Go ahead. There's ways to do that. >> Okay. All right. I I do have to read this this part before I ask you. You have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions. Do you understand? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily giving. >> You have the right to the repres to the presence and representation of a lawyer >> of your choice before you make any statements and doing any questions. So promises to induce you to make any statement. This must be on your own free will. Do you understand? H >> any statement can and will be used against you in the court of law. Do you understand? >> Yes, ma'am. >> So basically, I was helping out corros by they were scanning it. I was in jail. But just like I told him downstairs, everybody does it. When I say everybody does it, I mean everybody does it. >> So like I >> But right now we're here for you. I see the I saw the videos. I saw you walk out with with the cards. We have different occasions, different instance. So I just want >> to hear from you about your >> Some of the stuff I pay for, >> right? Well, if we got I got I got everything. I got the receipts and I have several transactions. >> Okay. several transactions over $1,000, >> okay, >> worth of transactions. So, there are some that was paid for and >> he already went through that, >> right? >> Remove the one that was paid and the the one that was that was either not scanned or voided have been taken out and the receipts, everything is printed. >> Okay. >> I know people go through hard time. >> So, can I just pay them back? >> Unfortunately, it don't work like that. >> They don't work like that. >> Okay. So, I'm going to type up the paperwork. I'm going to take you with me >> to the bathroom. >> The woman was arrested for grand theft, released on bond, and later rearrested for violating bond conditions. Detectives resumed questioning her after gathering more video evidence. >> As I told you earlier, I'm Detective Bones. This way, here's Detective um Moreny. She's lead. This is her investigation. I'm just here to assist her. Okay? Whatever. So, she just has some stuff she just want to talk to you about or whatever. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Before we talk to you, we have to read you your rights. We have to make sure you understand them and then we have to make sure with your rights in mind, you agree to speak to us. Okay. Right. >> So, that's where we're going to start. Okay. You have the right to remain silent and not to answer any questions. Do you understand? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily given. Do you understand? Yes, I do. >> You have the right to the presence and representation of >> When confronted again, she admitted bringing her eight children ages 10 months to 16 years to the store and confirmed that some were in surveillance footage >> were just voided out completely. >> Mhm. >> But my question is there was a bunch of kids. They look like kids to me, >> right? >> That were picking up your groceries for you. >> Picking them out, doing helping. Uh-huh. >> So, um, and I noticed in the videos that you said you had eight kids. >> Yes, I have eight. >> How old are they? >> My oldest is 16 and my youngest is 10 months. >> 10 months. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, I assume these are your children because you look like you're familiar with them. They look like they're comfortable and familiar with you, >> right? >> And I have to just confirm that they're children and not involved in any crime because, >> okay, >> this is I'm not looking at your kids. I'm just looking to identify him. >> Sure. >> Okay. So, the first picture I just That's you, correct? >> You can Yeah. Hello. >> Yes, ma'am. >> And this I think is one of your children. >> Uhhuh. >> What's What's her name? >> Her name is >> Mhm. >> This your oldest? >> No. >> Who is that? >> That's a regular customer. >> Okay. I don't know. >> Okay. So, on July 30th, that customer came in and I forget whether you deleted things off of her receipt or what. So, that's not a c that's >> No, that's not one of my children. >> She looks young though. You don't know her? >> I know her, but she's not one of my children. >> Do you know her name? >> I think her name is These these two >> I don't know who this is. >> The little boy. >> I don't know who that is. >> Okay. So, >> but that's my child. >> That Yeah, he was with your child. Who is that? >> I don't know who that is. That's not my child. >> See, that's why I'm asking. >> I don't know who that is. >> That's fine. But your other child, what's her name? Her name is >> I printed this out, but this is just to show you. See, we're watching you scan the Hershey's bar. You scan it one once, but you're holding two. So, that's basically what we were looking at. It's not the crime of the century. It's not a super big deal, but see. Okay. So, there's a kid in the cart and then there's this kid >> that and that's my son's right. >> Okay. And this lady got on the ground to play with your kid. Do you know who she is? >> I'm just curious. >> That is a That's a child. >> She's a child. >> Yeah. She's a big child. >> Yes. She's She's big as hell. That's a child. >> But not your not yours or not related. >> She's pregnant. their cousin. >> That's their cousin. >> Yeah. >> What's her name? >> I think her name is >> I don't know her last name. >> But she wasn't with your kids. She just happened to be there. >> She was. Yeah. She was playing lemon. >> And this is your time to explain maybe why why it was happening or >> Well, when I first started there, that wasn't my intention. Um, I only got the job because like it was hard for me. Like my car note is 466. I mean 488. My car insurance is 466. My rent is like $900. My light bill run me like $ 250. My water almost that amount. So it's like it was a lot. So I got a job at Wind Dixie and I started I think it was like my third month. I don't want to say because I've been working there for like five months. So I won't I don't I won't want to say three months, but three months in I got close with the the girls that used to work there. So they hooked me on to like what to do when you in you know when you working in selfch checkckout. So, I got the swing of working in selfch checkout. And then, you know, they were just letting me know like you don't have to, you know, you can just do this and not scan this, you know, and just void out on the keypad. Like, I didn't know how to do that. I didn't pull it. >> The suspect confessed she learned how to void items from co-workers who were also stealing. >> I didn't pull it from nowhere. So, obviously, it had to be taught to me because I just started working there. So basically, >> so those girls that uh taught you that, they don't work there anymore. >> They're still there. >> They're still there. >> Yes. And I told Cliff, I told Corporate because they asked me their names. I gave Clave Corporate and Cliff their names. But when I went in when I recently just went in there and talked to Cliff, I think it was like a week ago. >> Uhhuh. >> I asked him. I was like, I don't think I don't Nope. Nope. Let me back up. when the officer came in the store when I did my investigation or whatever, the officer came in the store and you know, he was like, "Oh, my boss told me to contact the sheriff's department." So, I was like, "Okay." My AC had went out. So, I was like, "You know, I'll be back. So, let me go run my kids somewhere, so they won't be hot in the house because it like 80° in my house." So, um when I got back, the police was there. They was talking to they was in the back talking to the boy Omari upstairs. So when I went to the back, you know, she asked my name. She put me in handcuffs. And the the man from corporate, he was like at the bottom of the steps. So I asked him, I was like, "Can I talk to you for a second?" And he was like, "Um, sure." First he didn't want to talk, but also like, you know, she want to talk to you for a second. So he was like, "Sure." So I was like, "I know you here to do a job, don't get me wrong, but if you say you doing a full investigation, you should have nobody up front working." That's I'm just And he was like, "What did you mean?" I was like, "They taught this to me. They the one taught me how to do it. So, how come you trying to prosecute me, but not everybody else that's doing it?" And he was like, "Oh, I'm doing investigation. I'm doing investigation." I was like, "Don't don't get me wrong. I know you have a job to do, but you should have did your investigation that same day, and you would have had nobody working." >> So, who taught you how to do it? >> Oriana. Oriana taught me how to do it. So I would just, you know, explain to him like, um, Molen does it, but it's not as often as >> she was charged with grand theft, a felony offense, despite blaming others. She ultimately accepted responsibility. She was sentenced to 3 years of probation, which she is still serving. Teaching children to steal not only breaks the law, but also destroys their moral foundation. Hardship never justifies dishonesty. It only multiplies the pain for an entire family. Look out for the next shoplifter who will react even more aggressively. >> We're going to do this again. >> Police respond to a shoplifting call at Target on January 15th, 2025. Woman detained for investigation. >> Hey. Hello. Hello. >> How's it going? >> Hi. Just know my camera's on. Right now, you're not free to leave. Okay. For investigation, can you stand up for me your second weapons? >> Stand up for me. >> Thank you. >> The woman is visibly distressed, hyperventilating, and struggles to communicate. Officers discover her primary language is Gujarati from India. Do >> you have any weapons on you? >> Do me a favor. Just take a deep breath cuz we're going to chat. She's been like that the whole 40 minutes. >> Has it been since you stopped her? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Have a seat. >> Do me a favor. Take a big breath. As deep in as you can. >> You got to take a deep breath. One breath. Not hyperventilate. because I got to be able to talk to you and if I can't talk to you or read them like that, I can't talk to you. Okay. >> Try to get information out of her, but she won't uh respond. >> Do you speak English? >> Not not very good. >> Not very good. What's your primary language? >> Gujarati. >> What is it? >> Gujarati. Where is that from? in >> officers explain she won't be jailed if properly identified but will receive a court summons. Woman claims limited English and inconsistent answers about ID license. >> So we're here. They called us saying you were shoplifting. Do you have any ID on you? A driver's license or anything like that? >> No. Do you have any medical issues? Do you need me to call the fire department for you right now? >> No. >> No. Okay. Is this normal for you when you get nervous? >> Okay. Have you ever had a license or anything like that? >> Is I I have I have I have >> What's that? >> I I have like >> Okay. Is it out of Washington or out of a different state? >> Okay. So, the name that I don't know if you gave them the name or where your name came from. It came back clear. No record. So, I'm going to be totally honest with you. Okay. If you shoplifted and I can identify you, I'm not taking you to jail tonight. Okay. You'll get a charge. >> Loss Prevention confirms she is a regular shoplifter, though this is the first time she's been caught. She admits she intended to resell some items. You want to talk to him? >> Okay, that's okay. You don't have to talk to him. I'm not going to talk to him. It was Pamar. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Pamar, are you okay? Tell me what's going on. >> Are you saying you aren't going to do this again? >> Have you ever done this before? Yeah, she's a regular. >> Have you been able to apprehend her before? >> No, this is the first time that anyone's approached her. >> Okay, so no trespass warnings or anything like that yet. >> Okay. >> Is there a reason why you you took all this stuff? >> Okay. Are you able to talk to us about why we're here tonight? >> What? Are you able to tell us why we're here tonight? What happened? >> Were you going to take these things and then resell them for money? >> Some of it. >> Some of it. >> Officers verify her ID, try to calm her and ask why she's so scared. She appears fearful, possibly of her husband, as suggested by her reaction to his phone call. >> Just we're checking your ID right now to make sure you are who you say you are. Okay. >> Hey, I'll keep you posted. lazy. >> Okay, I already told you if if that is your name, I'm not taking you to jail tonight. >> Okay, so I need you to try and relax a little bit >> cuz I can't get your side of the story if if you were not able to speak with me. >> So, what all were you going to try and sell out of the things that you took? What were you going to try and sell? Are you scared from me or whoever this is about what's going to happen? >> I'm not going to answer it. >> Is that person outside right now? >> No, he's not outside. >> He's waiting for you. >> What would you suggest is the third option? You are obviously very scared right now and I don't know why, but you're the one who chose to come in here and try and steal things. >> So for me, >> the store wants to prosecute. Officers decide to send charges by mail and issue a citation for theft. >> Okay. Do you have an alternative mailing address somewhere else that we can send it to you? No. Okay, then I don't have another option. >> So, is there something going on at home that you need to talk to us about? >> Okay. Well, they're wanting to assist in prosecution, so I am going to send up charges. you're going to get a >> She's also served a trespass warning, signs paperwork, and is told she can't return to Target. Officers stress she can disclose any unrelated personal issues like problems at home. >> Up here has some trespass stuff to go over with you. >> All she has to do is just sign this. But when I brought it up to her, that's when he started calling. So then I took it away just cuz I didn't want her here. >> All you have to do is just sign this. Okay. Can you just sign it for me, please? >> You broke the law, which is why we're here. And my partner is saying if there's something else you want to tell us unrelated to what happened tonight, you can >> like if something's going on at home that you need to tell us about, you can do that. >> Okay, Pamar, let's do this one step at a time. Do you want to sign this? Yes or no? You don't have to, but they would like you to. >> Yes. Okay. Can you sign that for me? >> She is released, instructed to leave the property, and told to expect her court date notice in the mail. Officers note her emotional reaction intensified after her husband called for >> today and then you're going to get something in the mail. That's where we're at. >> Whenever the court sends it out. That's not in my area. >> I don't know when they go to court. >> I don't that's that's up to you. You can use public transit, you can call an Uber, whatever you need. But for right now, we need to go. >> Yes. Officers speculate her fear may be due to her husband's influence. Either he pressured her to steal or she fears his reaction if he finds out. >> She's already crying, but the moment I went to get it signed, she was like crying even more. I'm like, "What?" I'm like, "Hey, you're good. Just breathe." And I look down and I see the wedding ring emoji and I'm like, "Oh, it's her husband." And I was like, "Her husband's either telling her to do this or she's doing this and he doesn't know." >> Yeah. And so I mean both ways she probably thinks that he's gonna respond in a way. >> Woman formally charged with theft, banned from Target, and scheduled for a court appearance. Lingering question remains whether her fear was genuine or an act. Stealing may seem like an easy way out, but it always brings lasting consequences. No matter the excuse, the truth will eventually come to light. What an unyielding shoplifter. The next shoplifter will react much more violently, so keep an eye out. >> Look, these are my eyes. She just said, >> "Yeah, but you can't do that, though." >> I can't look. >> You can't. >> Police respond to a Target store after three shoplifterss flee with nearly $2,000 in stolen merchandise. Officers chase and apprehend suspects. >> Open. One over. Which room? >> Overfield talk on the radio. What do you have? >> Hang on. I got Overfield with one here. >> I said let me get >> Stop resisting. Put your hands behind your back. >> Hey, there's a car here. Is there anybody in that car? >> I don't know. >> Two suspects are quickly detained. One resists but is subdued. Officers secure them, search for the third suspect, and manage compliance issues. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. I'm giving you an order. Get on the ground. Belly down. >> Where's your friend? >> Go to him. I got it. Go to him. >> And that's your friend. There was another in between clock cars near center line. >> I ain't going down that side. >> All right, you can just walk over there. >> Overfield. >> Walk over. >> Okay, >> there was like a short Bravo mic or Bravo Fra perhaps. Remind me that Hyundai, that burgundy Hyundai. They're coming out pretty fast. Get my shoes, please. >> Where they at? >> They over there. >> Yep. >> They don't know. >> Can you get her shoes? >> No, that's fine. >> What? >> Later. You want to run from the police? I'm not going to give you no shoes. >> Hey, keep her there. Keep her there. Keep her there. >> Nope. Stay right here. >> Okay. >> Do you have anything sharp on you? How tall are you? 18. >> 18. Okay. Is that your phone? All right. >> Look, sir. >> Can I explain? >> You can sit her down. >> You can go ahead and sit down. >> Oh, I don't want to sit down. >> No, you are going to sit. >> Okay. Yes, sir. >> Like this? >> Yep. >> The suspects, both young women, 18 and 23, are searched and questioned. One complains about her hair being pulled during a search and officers help tie it back while keeping her restrained. >> Your feet all the way down. Put your feet in. >> As far as I know, we have two out of the three secured in cuffs within eyesight of me. >> Get out of the car. How hard is that? >> Hey, stop. >> Stop. >> Hey, relax. >> I'm not doing [ __ ] I'm just asking y'all. What was that though? >> All right, going to head you back up. The one with the pink uh pink chair. >> Okay. >> Scan everything. Get your own. >> Hang on. Go back to the LP office. >> What do you So LP is actually on the floor. So these two are positively identified. >> Lean forward against the car. Spread the feet. Lean forward against the car. >> Do it now or you're resisting and you'll get a resist. >> [ __ ] why are you >> Because she's searching you. >> My head though. Like she trying to pull the whole thing off. >> That's right. >> Yes. >> People put all the time. >> [ __ ] I get it though. Like you She literally snatched the [ __ ] off. >> Like you crazy. Can you see under it? >> There we go. >> Thank you. >> No, >> nothing. >> Just a bobby pin. >> Just a bobby pin. >> Oh, you sense? >> Yep. >> Let me just um just pull it down. So, >> what? >> My hair. >> Your hair? >> Yeah. >> Just leave it like that. It's >> hot. Hair. >> Hair. I'm sorry. You did ask me to move your hair out of your face. >> Tie it right now. >> Tie it. Take >> a little your hair. I don't I don't think I know how to do that. >> No, like tie it like you're tying something. >> Can I like twist it? >> Oh, you can just pull it out. >> Officers explain to the suspects that running won't help as multiple police units are already on scene. Suspects are told they will likely be taken to jail. >> You want to get Listen, I get it. You want to get away, but it it's a little late when like you got 10 cop cars showing up. I know it's hot. >> Swear to God. >> Keep your feet crossed. >> Oh, he's forgetting. My bad. >> It's broke. >> Okay. >> Trying to turn it off. >> Yep. >> No, don't turn it off. >> Save some battery. >> No, I'm not. >> You can't communicate on it. >> I'm not. Just put it down. >> You should have stayed on home. We'll do the paperwork downstairs. >> Well, no. So, >> y'all taking us to jail? >> Uh, most likely. >> You have any idea how much you stole? >> We stealing nothing. >> You go get my shoes now. He gone. >> I got to stay with you. But we'll get your shoes. Don't worry. Before Before we go anywhere, you're getting your shoes. Okay. >> Okay. >> Merchandise is gathered for documentation. Officers prepare paperwork and clarify that suspects will have a chance to call family from jail. >> Inspect my car. >> I'm going to do what's called a visual inspection. That's open to the public. I'm not searching your vehicle. >> I'm just trying to make sure. >> I'm going to go get the truck and bring the truck up. >> That way we can at least have them sitting in a car. So finally, I'm going to go and tell you what you telling me. >> That's what it's going to look like. >> It's 95 in there, so we'll wait for the show up. >> What's that? >> What does it show up? >> I don't know. What does it show up? >> What' you say? We put you on. >> I don't know. Why do we talk in codes? >> What? >> Huh? >> What' you say? >> What did you say? >> Please call my grandma. >> How old are you? >> 23. >> You're 23. You'll be able to call. If it goes towards the arrest route, you'll be able to call when you get to a jail. Okay. >> She's 23. >> How old is she? >> Are you related to her, friend? That's my cousin right here. >> Other girl. That's her friend. >> Okay, we're going to stand you up. Okay. >> I know it's hot here, so we're going to sit in the truck. Do you have any pockets? >> No, I don't got no pockets. >> Okay. >> One suspect complains about being dragged while officers insist they are just escorting her. Resistance continues during searches with suspects pulling away. >> I'm sorry. I'm so security. See, you're walking. Come on, man. >> Come on. Come on. Chill out. You acting too much. You're doing too much. Yeah, no problem. Do >> you have an ID? Anybody a chance? >> Do you have an ID? >> What' you say? >> Oh, we're going to play that game. >> Yeah. >> You can take a seat. Ba 45 alpha. Hey quarters, if you could time stamp this, we're starting the show up. Who has the third person? Where you at? >> We're behind flippers. >> Five turn four five to us. We're behind flippers. >> Behind flippers. Put those right there. Stop. >> What? >> Bro, did you not see what she doing? >> I'm seeing you do it. >> Me. >> Targets loss prevention confirms they want to press charges. Officers coordinate to get mug shots for store records. >> Yeah. Yeah. Eventually. I just can't hear you. >> The merchandise is the shopping cart that you guys left and ran away from. >> Yep. He wants to press charges and uh he's going to scan and I'll send you the uh amount in a little bit. Look, >> I do have to take a picture of their faces. >> Say it again. >> I take a picture of their faces at least the ones in the garage. That's possible. They're already in the jail. It's fine. But >> we can print you a mug shot of them. Is that Is that okay? >> Yeah. Just saying that if he could get a copy of the mug shot of all three. Lean back cuz I got There you go. Come on. So, >> oh no, it's not that. I just always forget because it's it doesn't flip to the front. So, >> final tally, 929 worth of stolen merchandise, not including tax 114in. All three suspects were charged with felony, retail theft, shoplifting because they ran and resisted officers during arrest. Resisting arrest is also a likely charge. Running from the cops only adds more charges to your record. Stealing nearly $2,000 from a store guarantees felony trouble, not a quick escape. No, listen. In the next body cam clip, officers were called to a Walmart after a disruptive customer allegedly sparked a heated verbal dispute inside the store. >> They're trying to hear. I need you to stop. What's up? >> Step over here. >> Like, stop playing with me. Like, for real. I came from laundry detergent. >> What's going on? >> She literally I said excuse me to her husband. He moving out the way and everything. And she's talking about, "Oh, blah blah blah." He said, "This is my husband, blah, blah, blah." I said, "No." I said, "Excuse me." He moved out of the way and everything. >> She the one I went by. >> I'm not going anywhere. It's a quick >> I don't have to. That's fine. That's fine. Like I said, I asked her husband to move out the way. I said, "Excuse me. He move out the way." She talking about, "Oh, she's talking about Oh, well, you didn't have to say that blah blah blah to my I turned around. She talking about she just started like feeling like the most." >> Okay. >> I came here to find laundry. That's it. >> So, did they get physical or what's >> No, it's nothing physical. It's just words. >> Just words. >> Yes, just words. It's nothing physical at all. >> Nobody put their hands on each other or nothing like that. So, can I leave, please? Can you get your hand on my car? >> You got ID on you? >> No, it's in the car. >> No. What's your last name? >> My last name? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Now, can we get this going so I can um get my my shot? >> No, ma'am. We don't dictate this situation. >> Okay, that's fine. But um can we get this going? >> Talking to the radio. >> You don't dictate situation. So, you're going to keep on talking. >> I can do something about that and we can go back to small. >> Yeah, it didn't have to happen. >> She didn't have to say at all. >> Simple as that. My name my last name is like I said, >> what's your first name? >> Raven. RN. Anything else? >> Date of birth. >> What's your address? >> You on the phone. It's you on the phone with me. You scanning it. Literally, he just seen all this just happened. But things quickly took a turn when the woman grew argumentative, insisting the officer was treating her unfairly, accusing him of assuming she was at fault without bothering to hear her full side of the story. >> What's your address? >> You approached me, but I approach her. >> Cuz you're being the girl. >> She's No, I'm not. She started with me. >> Well, you're being separated and you >> Okay. Like I said, you're not going to approach her, but you approach me, right? >> Okay. Let's go to the front of the store. >> I'm going No, no, no, no. I'm going to go ahead and get your number and everything. I'm going go ahead and get your I'm going to need your number and everything. >> Let's go to the front of the store. This going to have to be written down. >> This going to have to be written down >> because at this point you got you you approached me but not her and she's the one who started it. You don't know what started all of this but she approached me but not her. It's fine. >> Okay. >> No, it's fine. >> Like I said, what is your um >> Longberg 597? >> Longird. Can you do this in front of your son or we can do this? >> This is not my son. This is my nephew. >> Okay. You're you're you're just assuming things when you don't know what's going on. Like I said, >> well, you're more >> in tune to getting my >> cuz she's not you in a shopping place. When I come over here to look for laundry detergent, you're not going to do that to me. So, like I said, Longberg, what is your bathroom? >> 597. Thank you. Anything else you need from me? >> Yes, ma'am. >> What is it? >> Most likely you're going to be trespassed from the store. >> Okay, listen. Listen. Yeah, that's that's fine with me. >> Okay, that's fine with me. Like I said, um I will be having your badge number. And also, >> you already have my badge number. >> Also, no, no, no. Also, um >> I will be um >> Pineellis. >> Does it look like I'm Pel? >> No, no, no. Pellis, are you Largo? Are you Pellis? Are you Clewater? Are you Largo? Which one are you? >> No, you can. >> Cuz at this point, you approached me. No, no, no. You approached me >> and say approach the other lady. How was that? Because >> cuz you were being aggressive. Why why just start fighting me, right? And then she gone. She literally started me. So I said I told her I'm trying to get out the way before they can move. >> No, they're fine. >> Okay. Well, that's >> the suspect explained that the dispute started because another woman refused to step aside, blocking her from getting through the aisle. However, according to reports, it was actually the suspect identified as Raven who had been the aggressor. >> Bro, like, so she just so she just Listen, no, listen. She just approached me. I'm mind you, I'm with Satan. I'm over here by the toilet paper, by the laundry sergeant, all that. I came over here for laundry detergent. This she literally this Mexican I don't know who she was. This Mexican lady, she listen. So this what happened. I'm passing by with Zen. It's so many people, mind you. It's so many people in a way. I told No, I told I said I said, "Excuse me." So her husband, he moved out the way. He didn't say at all. He moved out the way. So why he So why is he here? That's what I'm saying. >> We got to go for a disturbance. We had like four people call. >> Like I said, you approached me, but you did not approach her. >> I've already explained that to you. >> Like I said, what's the problem? >> I've already explained that to you. >> No, you're not going to You're not going to do that. >> Okay, you can take most likely there's going to be a >> for why you're having an altercation in front of a child. >> He was not He was not right there. >> I was at the front. So how >> she was with your child? >> He was not right there. He was literally a whole freaking He wasn't even by me at this point. This lady is argue with me and he want to talk about a DCF case. I'm walking with a toddler. Okay. >> I'm walking with a toddler and this lady literally say something out her mouth like just crazy. I turned around and I said like what what is your problem? Like what's what's going on? So she going to talk about oh you want to say this is my husband this and that blah blah blah. So I told her I said I asked your husband to move out the way and he moved. He moved out the way with no problem. That's what I'm That's what I'm getting at right now. >> He moved all the way with no problem and he literally he didn't say nothing at all. She the one who was was standing on the side talking out her mouth and I turned around. I said like what is the problem? Like what is what like what do you really have going on? So then that's when just all that stuff. I came up here looking for laundry detergent. Like that's just just that period. I didn't stop there. I didn't stop her. I didn't do to her. It was no hand. There was nothing going on. >> Raven's sister stepped in, attempting to calm her down and keep the situation from escalating. But convinced the officer was treating her unfairly, Raven kept arguing, letting her frustration override her sister's efforts. >> That's not fair to me because she started with me saying something. Excuse I don't care. She's a grown ass lady. I do not care. You do not say stuff like that. If it's a whole bunch of traffic, if it's a whole bunch of traffic coming through Walmart, I'm saying excuse me, like, can you please get out the way? I'm on the phone for one saying like it's a lot of people here like they got away. It's nothing more, nothing less. So please like, please just I just need I just need to get my No, no, I need to get my stuff and I need to leave. Simple as that. >> My mouth getting dry. I'm getting foam out by the mouth. I'm so dead. This lady started approach. Didn't approach her at all. >> Keep your >> listen. Okay. So I have a question. >> Yes. >> Well, what's going on? Why you approached her? because she was the aggressor from what I did with I didn't hit nobody. No, >> but it doesn't matter. >> Okay. So what? So what? So what? So what's going on? Because if she didn't hit no, then she didn't do anything. >> It's not the other lady crimes that you no crime. It's not crime. >> No, it's not threat. It's not no crime. But what's going on to figure out what's going on because I can't leave this. >> I can't leave. So I'm trying to >> No, you cannot. Raven. Raven, calm down. Just calm down. We don't got to get out of this place. I don't So right now she's going to dictate this and she goes to jail over if I'm not Raven. Raven just stop if I'm trusting that's fine. I'm still trying to trust no more. Stop. If I start if I'm trusting >> Listen but okay. So she Okay. So where's the other people? Because you ain't talking. >> Talk to them. She's got the issue right now. She has the issue because we Raven Raven She has the issue because you're approaching her about something that she didn't do. >> Okay. >> She she can she we have I already called mama. Sheaven Raven. >> The argument escalates as Raven refuses to cooperate entirely. >> You can have freedom of speech. Freedom of speech going public environment. >> Okay. So you want to say to me and [ __ ] like >> we can play this hypothetical all day. Like I said, you're not going to talk to approach me first. >> Like I said, meet me at the front and I can talk to you later. >> For no reason. >> Raven, can you calm down? >> No. I'm not talking about yelling. I'm trying to tell I'm trying to tell them what the going on. Like >> I understand you're trying to calm her down. Go to the front of the store. >> It's like okay at this point it's like >> they literally approached me first, right? And then it's like they didn't approach this lady that literally started with me. It's like saying crazy me like who are you talking to? Like you talking about husband stuff. It's like that like who was you talking to? I wasn't even talking to your husband no type of way. Like I was >> who who that person was here? What? >> What? That person was here. >> It was It was a a [ __ ] white lady coming out the back. >> Yes. No. No. No. No. No. It doesn't matter. You're not going to go find her. >> Mexican lady. >> You're not going to go find her. Go to the front of the store. I will make you go to the front of the store at this point. >> Can you just tell me what you want to do with her? >> I'm still trying to figure that out. So, if you can go to the front of the store, I can proceed on my way with my investigation. >> Get out of your way. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Okay. What's going on? I'm going to jail now because she started with me. You're not going to go find her. You're the only one. >> You're not causing an issue to where I can't causing an issue. I'm not causing an issue. I'm just trying to I'm trying to get my stuff. Obviously, I'm trying to get my stuff and just leave like I came here to do. >> Okay. >> I said excuse me to her husband. >> Keep it on shelf for 2 minutes. Let me run your name and figure it out for me. >> Sir, sir. Sir, I gave you my lane. I gave you my first and last name. Sir, if you can keep my first Now, Raven's combative attitude is making it impossible for the officer to even run her name through the system. And instead of calming down, her complaints only grow louder and more intense. >> I gave you my first and last name. >> I understand that. Now I'm talking. >> I gave you my date of birth. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, what am I still waiting here for? >> Cuz I haven't even >> Because you're the only one in here. Y'all not going to go find her. >> Okay. I've already answered this like three times. >> So, clearly you're not listening. I know it's a hard skill to have. >> So, who's going to go find her? We go see what's going on. >> Okay. >> Who's going to find her to go see what's going on? Like you answering everything else but this. Like who going to go find her? >> Like nobody told her to come by her mouth and like just say like who the you talk to like that. Like it's no reason for that. >> I didn't say nothing to this lady. >> His badge number and everything. I got his last name, badge number, everything. I'm going to need your sergeant. I'm going to need your sergeant. >> Okay. I'm going to need your sergeant. I didn't do this lady. This ain't started with me. >> I'm going to need you. Let's go. >> Just keep it cool. Approach me, but not hurt. >> That's fine. That's cool. >> Do not walk up on me. >> Who you talking to? >> Yeah. He was like, I don't know who the dancing with, but I don't know who >> you approach a black female but don't approach some Mexican female freedom of speech here. >> Yeah. I don't have to come here. >> I have to come. >> I don't care. I can explain to you what happened. You don't know where anybody look at >> Go here. >> You don't know where you >> Once inside the security room and noticing other Walmart staff present. Raven grew even more defensive. By this point, however, the officer had clearly run out of patience with her attitude. >> Have a seat. >> Can I help y'all? Can I help y'all? Have a seat. >> Can I help y'all? >> Have a seat. >> I'm not going to have a seat. I'm good. I'm done standing up. Like, >> where's the other lady at? >> What's up? >> Where is the other lady I got into it with? >> I don't know yet. We have officers looking. >> Okay. So, why do you just have me in here? Where? >> Whole family crowding around me and I'm by myself. >> Where the she at? >> Get the >> No, I'm not going to. What is your problem? Like I said, >> now Okay. >> Where is the lady I just got into it with? Where is the lady I Where is the lady I did not with? Y'all have said I have not done this lady at all. You're pulling my hair. >> E cuz you're resisting. >> I'm not resisting. There you go. Like I said, I can put the bag down. >> No, you're good. You're good. >> Like I said, y'all want to approach me a black female, but don't want to approach her. She said some dumb mouth. Go ahead. Put them on nice and snug. Like I said, put them on nice and snug. >> I need help in your office. >> You want to have a seat now? >> No, I do not want to have a seat, sir. Like, but don't you understand? >> What's in this pocket? >> Look in it. You got me a haircut. Look in it. The you with y'all. Like I said, y'all won't y'all won't look at nobody else. But I >> y'all won't look at nobody else but a black female. I swear to God, y'all won't like y'all don't understand that. This lady started with me out her dumb mouth. Like all I did was come like I didn't even touch say to her. I didn't touch her. I can't say poor. >> A second officer arrived and tried to ease the tension by having a calm conversation with Raven. At first, the exchange seemed steady, but it didn't take long before things unraveled and the situation took a turn for the worse. >> He know my name. He got it. >> I'm asking. >> He has my name. >> We don't need to yell, right? >> First off, first off, that's not my name. My name is Raven. Okay. >> He knows my name. >> He knows my name. Like I said, everything job. >> He bangs in jail. >> Like I said, watch them came. Like I said, she said you touch nobody. I stay 24 hours. Like I said, lose your you lose your job. I swear to God your job. I swear to God, I cannot sit down. I cannot sit down at all. with y'all. >> You're going to go upstairs. >> I swear to God. I swear to God. I swear to God, bro. >> Raven, knock it off. All right. >> Wrong with y'all. >> What's wrong with you? >> Like I said, >> can I hear you? >> I came here to with me. Close the door. >> You don't want to listen. >> I was telling her, "Calm down." I said, "Calm down." >> With Raven's father causing a scene inside the store, he was quickly pulled into the situation himself. Once placed in handcuffs, however, his demeanor shifted. He appeared much calmer, simply asking the officers what his daughter had done wrong. >> We told you not to knock again. >> I can hear my daughter yell. I'm telling her to calm down, bro. That's what I'm doing. Telling her to calm down. >> Let me double. >> But can I ask you a question though, sir? >> In one sec. >> Now I got to Now, we didn't do nothing wrong. You did something wrong. She did something wrong. >> What did she do, sir? >> I got to get back in there with her. So, >> well, can I ask you what did I do wrong, sir? >> Yeah. Let me just >> I have nothing. That's my work bag. I'm just getting off work. All I was trying to do is see what was going on with my daughter, man. >> Glad you got him. >> Let's go. I'll get it. All right. >> Absolutely. >> I don't care. >> I swear to God losing their job or my mama losing their job. >> Oh, she got something in the front pocket. >> I open the door for you. Messing around. I open the door for you. Get them out of the way. Yeah. Move them out the way. Trashy police car. Get him. >> Raven was ultimately taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. On top of that, she received a ban from the entire shopping center. Losing your temper in public only makes a bad situation worse. Stay calm and cooperative or you might end up with charges and a ban.
