Where'd you get the boo boo from? >> Oh, they were pinching him and grabbing him and pulling him. >> Okay. Pinching him, grabbing you, and pulling you. Let me see. >> All right. So, what was what happened? >> Words were exchanged. Like I said, >> between who? >> Me and me and her. She got very angry. The mother explains tensions were high during travel. She says her 20-year-old son became aggravated in the car and that she held or scratched him to prevent him from moving toward her. [music] She denies intending harm and says the younger children were not injured. >> Yeah. She started grabbing my hair. >> She has a history of putting her hands on me. Okay. >> But she just grab grabbed my hair. She wouldn't let me go. Everybody came around. Once start people started coming she took her hands off me but then she tried to leave with our with my siblings >> okay >> uh when she is you know what I'm saying when she has very high energy and high emotions she wants to you know get as much control of the situation as possible so usually she us that by gathering around >> so let's back this up a little bit so on rest why happened before that back up >> I don't know tensions has been high the whole time we came here on the trip you know how people be on trips >> okay so are y'all coming in or going out >> we're leaving here we just got here we're So, you just flew in from where? >> Yeah. He said to me that they're going to surprise the mother. So he want my children to come with me. I said I cannot let my children come with you um without me being there. >> Right. >> So I came with him on a trip. >> Okay. >> When I came with him on the trip, the boss just started giving me sort of attitude. >> Who is the my older son? >> Okay. Your oldest son's giving you attitude. >> Yeah. and my own son and I have had altercation before and he jump on me. So when the place will bing and the way he is I didn't want him to jump on me. >> Officers clarify that the dispute stemmed from a disagreement over luggage timing and whether to continue the trip. The mother states she wanted to wait for her bag and take the younger children with her if she did not go. >> Uhhuh. >> So is his dad here too or just your dad right there? >> Okay. driving. >> Yeah, he always take his side. >> Okay. >> Of the story. So, we're in a car just now. My baggage it it left. He it was late because we missed the flight. When they seeing behavior business, he started it this morning. >> How old your son? Oldest. >> My son is 20 21. Yeah. So, we behavior business. Um I said I wasn't going. I changed my mind to see him and then my mother begged me. My mother said go with him. But the only reason why I came here because the children. >> The little ones. >> Yes. So >> So who's in the front right seat? In the passenger seat. In the front. Front passenger seat. Who's that? >> The front passenger seat. >> Was that your oldest? >> Yes, he the one. >> And then And then their dad is drunk. >> Yes. The father is drunk. >> Is that your ex-boyfriend or husband? >> Yeah. >> But it's But is he the children's father? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So the little one, too? >> Yeah. >> Who's in the argument? You and your oldest? >> Yeah. It me and the oldest. We were not in no argument but he getting mad and irritated with me. And when he get mad and irritated with me, he start to be combative. But [ __ ] he was in the front and I was in the back. >> Mhm. >> Today I was in the back. He did it before and he he um like what Facebook call towards me but he wasn't he was in the front. So this time around he couldn't do anything. So when I noticed that he hit me, you know what I did? The first thing I did was to screen him so he don't come to me and do that. So, oh, we both don't get in trouble because >> Did anyone did anyone hurt the little kids? >> No. No. The little children. The little children. >> They were in the car. >> They were in the car. >> Anybody them? >> No. Nobody them. So, so because of that, I tried to hold him down, but I said I don't want to go so we don't get into big >> and we don't get into problem because I had to hold him so he don't come towards me. So, I was yelling for all the people there to come and help me. And I held him. He was sitting in the city and died. He was not impact on me. The last time he brought all my last so I was scared. >> Did he live with you? >> No, he left with his father. >> When was the last time he put his hands on you? >> This year. The beginning of this. Yeah. The beginning >> at home. >> Yeah. The beginning of the No, in a car. The same in the car. But I were in the front and he >> Where is home? >> In the back. Coming from I were in the back and he were in the front. This time around that's what blessed me. Yeah. >> So when he me the people just coming here. So I said >> when you decided not to go, were you trying to get the little kids out of the car? >> Yeah. But they don't want me to get they won't carry my children and I call the police so I can get my children out and they can pull. >> Sir, >> I'm scared. Do you mind if I talk to you? Get your I'm trying to get all the tides. Okay. I'm going to get your father right over here. Get you away from me so I can talk to you, figure out everything going on. So, I got his side of it. They're getting her side. Okay. So, what happened today? >> So, it was a little family argument, I guess, and we're going the mom was like uh telling him to shut up. He's telling the mom to shut up. >> Okay. So, verbal going back. >> Verbal comment back and then she's like, "You know what? Nobody's coming to the trip." So she's pulling um >> pulling the stairs >> and then she's trying to pull him to get out of the car and I'm telling her to stop. So then everybody officers collect statements from each party. The adult son confirms there was a verbal dispute that turned physical when the mother pulled him. The father characterizes the behavior as part of her personality [music] and denies alcohol involvement. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. She said, "No, they're not going. They're not going. And I said, "Just take a Uber to the house." >> Okay. >> Cuz uh she could just took a Uber and then we would have went, >> you know. >> So where does it all come from? Trying to try to get an understanding of everything. He said that um I guess she's normally she's done this before in a sense. >> Yes. She normally she did like >> aggressive um for reason. She's Has she been drinking? >> No. No. >> It's just her as a personality. >> Her as a personality. Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. >> Did he not he did not have she's pulling it here. He's trying to like like stop and try to intervene. Everybody ordered. >> Okay. >> All right. Anything else you want to add? >> So everything was fine. She has a bag. There's people coming at 8:00. So he said, "No, mom. Uh uh we can't. We have to go." So then she No, no, no. I need my bag. I need my bag. So that's kind of like where it stems from. >> He She's trying to stay for her bag. He's trying to go for the surprise. >> We trying to go >> for the surprise. Okay. >> That's like the main thing. And then her thing is like if I'm not going my They're not going. So, she's trying to use that. >> Okay. All right. You can talk. Thank you. >> So, so if you take those little kids out of the car, what's the plan? What are you going to do? >> Oh, the plan is I'm going to go wait for my suitcase, my luggage, and I will call my mother and my mother will help me. >> Go back home. >> No, my mother will talk to me. >> And do what? What will you end up doing with you and the kids? Um, I will probably see if my mother can talk to me and tell me to go there with with them >> or calm down. >> Will you Uber or >> or will you rent a car or will you >> No, but I for now wasting a lot of time. I can just go with them. If you go with them, you guys are going to get in a >> No, no. I'm I'm not going to go with them. >> Like stop her. >> I don't want I don't want to go. >> Stop her. >> Yeah. Oh, sorry. Sorry. I want our sponsor to just um resolve it. >> Right now we got to get all the details. >> Yeah. We got to give us a moment now. Ma'am, >> stand over here. Stand over here. >> Understand? Understand? >> Understand? Just stand over here. >> The guy would have to take the bag and he was going to do like a statement. >> Which one of you checklist? >> Which one? >> The sign. >> Okay. >> So, I mean, I agree. >> Yeah. So, >> I'll do it. >> After reviewing statements, officers inform the adult son that a decision has been made based on witness accounts and calls received. He is told he is not in trouble, but may need to provide a formal statement. >> Oh, should be cool. >> Okay. >> You don't want to do this in front of the kids. >> Okay. >> What I need from you, bro, I need you to come back with us. You're not in trouble. I need you to do a statement >> of what happened. If I don't want to do it, >> you can do a verbal statement, but it's better for court if you do a written one. We also have to do this checklist with you where we ask you questions, just basic yes or no questions. >> Let's use your mom. It's the best. >> Yeah. When you talk to me, you said that she has a and even your um your father said the same thing. >> Yeah. Your dad don't want to do one. >> It's her personality. >> You're saying you don't want to do do one. In the end, it's fine. We got you on camera. It's >> not that you're making a decision. The decision is made off of all the calls that we got >> and what you said and what she said. >> The decision is made. It's not like you're choosing to get her in trouble. >> Exactly. >> You know what I'm trying to say now? What have told me is this is her personality. This is how she is. Even your father saying, "Hey, she's like this sometimes, >> right?" Which is not cool. >> Yeah. So, we'd appreciate that if you could come with us and just do this this crap. It shouldn't take more than 20 to 30 minutes. I asked your dad if he'd be willing to like loop back and pick you up. He wasn't. He didn't say >> I know. He's trying to get to the point. >> I rather him. >> Yeah. They're trying to get to this price. >> Okay. So, >> we Well, it's Airbnb, but I'd rather them get to the Airbnb and not just come by later. >> Okay. Beautiful. >> We're going to bring him back. She's going, >> but we're going to bring him back and do the witness stuff. >> Officers notify the adult son that the mother will be arrested. The [snorts] father drives the younger children away from the scene to avoid exposing them to the arrest process. >> All right. So, I spoke with dad. I spoke with the son. You're the last person I need to talk to. >> Armen. >> Now, I just need to read you this. This does not mean you're in trouble. Okay. >> Oh, >> I'm just going to read you this. >> So, I talked to the son. I talked to the father. >> Uhhuh. >> Now, I got to talk to you. >> So, what happened? >> All right. She demonstrates her fingernails and explains she scratched her son while trying to restrain him during the argument. Officers photograph her hands as part of documentation. >> All right. So, I spoke with dad. I spoke with the son. You're the last person I need to talk to. >> All right. >> Now, I just need to read you this. This does not mean you're in trouble. Remember, physical contact during a family dispute [music] can result in arrest, even if it begins as a verbal disagreement. In domestic related calls, officers typically separate parties, gather [music] statements, and base decisions on consistent witness accounts. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. [music] This escalated quickly over something that could have been handled calmly. Travel stress really seemed to add fuel to the situation. [music] Officers took time to hear everyone before making a decision. You think this call can't get worse? The body cam captures the exact second officer's rushin [music] comment if you felt that spike. The next incident is when entitled 23-year-old finds out he's not above the law. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. Where did she go? >> I know the law literally back and forth. >> Okay. >> So, if you know the law back and forth, why do you think I can't detain you for having open? >> Cuz that's the whole reason why I stopped you. >> You give me a ticket. >> I never I I have not given you a ticket. >> No, no, you can give me a ticket. >> You're right. I do not stop reaching. >> I do not stop reaching. Hands connected. Hands up here. >> I do not consider the search. Stop. >> I do not consider the search. Stop. >> I do not. >> Quit moving your [ __ ] hands. >> Multiple officers restrain him on the ground after continued resistance. During the struggle, officers indicate a firearm is present. He is placed in handcuffs after several commands. Quit moving your hands. >> Whoever's coming, hurry up. >> I do not consent to search. >> Hit him. Oh [ __ ] Put your hands behind your back now. >> I do not hand. >> Stop moving. >> Do you want to get Do you want to get >> I do not. >> Do you want to get >> Do you want to get us? So, he's going to be a problem once we try to get there. >> Anyway, >> at the hospital, Elijah asks to use the restroom and then runs down a hallway, tackling a security guard before being restrained again. Officers state he attempts to flee a second time while being escorted. >> Yeah. >> All right, cool. I'll be right in the ambulance. After Elijah was taken into custody, officers transported him to a hospital for evaluation where police say he asked to use the bathroom and then ran down the hallway in an attempt to escape, tackling a security guard before being restrained again. Investigators say he later tried to escape a second time while being escorted, kicking and biting officers and caused damage to a squad car during transport back to the police department. Come on, get out my [ __ ] [ __ ] I ain't kicking. I ain't doing [ __ ] Okay. >> I heard I'm not on [ __ ] >> All right, just stay there for me. >> All right, that's cool. You doing that [ __ ] on purpose. >> Officers secure him in a wheelchair and apply additional restraints after continued resistance, including kicking and biting attempts. He is eventually discharged and prepared for transport. >> 88. >> What are you waiting on? What's up? >> Is he going back? >> This is my level one. So, >> what are we doing? >> Is he discharged? Is >> he discharged from the hospital? >> Oh, he's not discharged. >> He's not discharged. So, he tried to set him up. >> Okay. >> Come on, guys. You know what? Can we get a wheelchair? >> Stand by. And I said, "Oh my god, there are people back there. There's kids." On September 14th, 2025, bystanders contacted police after hearing unusual sounds coming from a parked vehicle outside a retail store, raising immediate safety concerns. >> What's up, brother? They uh so the car was they managed to get the key from this side. >> There's a car on or off. >> The car's off. >> It's another little girl. She's 70 years old. She was I don't know. >> Another person here took >> No, that's grandma. >> Me. I'm her friend. She in the store. I want this one. >> She took the little girl so we can try to find out who the mama was. The little girl got she can watch them in there. Okay. But where's the seven-year-old daughter? >> Some lady took in the store. >> She took >> and with the keys. >> The lady took in the store because we was trying to figure out who the parent was. So, because she was the the oldest item, >> officers arrived and learned that several children had been left unattended inside the vehicle while adults were away. >> They was already over here. >> So, them two plus the seven-year-old were in >> I pulled Yeah, cuz they was already over here on phone, I guess, calling y'all and they couldn't open the door and the car was off. So when I came I pulled I just I pulled them out the trunk. They was on top. This one was on top of that one. But I took them out and stuffy. The seven-year-old was locking them. >> This is the grand. >> You're the friend or the grandmother? >> I'm the security. >> And the car was off. Back door. Mommy, this where your kids was at. I flipped I'm just saying it was locked. I took the back the car seat from top and I just pulled the seat back. It was in the trunk. >> Who's that? Is that the owner of the vehicle? >> Yeah. And I was >> Are you the owner of this vehicle? >> Okay. How long How long were you did you leave these? >> Okay. Because cuz we have people that are coming to the car and they're saying that >> this car was off with no AC with two babies in the car >> and then >> I don't know why she got out the car. I was watching them but he >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Who are you? >> Yes, I'm a friend of hers. But >> witnesses explained they intervened to check on the situation after becoming increasingly concerned. >> He first started calling 911. He saw me standing out there on the car. Yeah, cuz I just went to go use the bathroom. >> So, you were here at the car? >> Yes. I guess cuz I wasn't right there. He feel like they buy their stuff. So, I told y to watch them while I go get them off. >> It's just a bunch of nothing. >> That don't make no sense. They just do too much right here. >> So, were you the one that was watching the kids? >> Yes. I'm >> She went inside. >> Yes. >> I got the kids and everything. He said, "Oh, no. They by their stuff. I didn't see you took the car." >> You mind me asking why did you take the sevenyear-old inside? >> She was right here watching them. I asked her to watch them for me while I go get her to tell her what he just did. No, I was watching them. I told her to watch them for me. While I go get her cuz I'm like, he's doing too much. She making a big scene for no reason and let him go. >> You were watching them, too. >> Was the car on or off? >> The car was off. I had the key. >> Yeah. They making a big sit. He kept calling pennies out the tag and everything like what? I I'm so upset with him. >> How long were you guys gone for the car? It was not gone. I was here. She ran inside to get some shoes and get some clothes. This don't make no sense. This just don't make no damn sense. And I'm telling him I'm here right here on the phone with 911. Then he took pictures of the test. Oh, my girlfriend had >> together in his car. >> Yes. >> Okay. And you were just outside of the car. >> And are you with them or are you just helping out? >> I was helping out. I walked over. Police separated individuals involved and attempted to determine who was responsible for supervising the children. >> I seen them over here. >> Question. You mind stepping over here real quick so I can ask you a quick question. >> When you when you came over >> Mhm. >> Who was watching the vehicle? >> Nobody. She that lady lying. She don't even know them people. >> She She doesn't know who they are. So she was a little girl to go in the store cuz what happened was when I came out of Walmart, I seen them already up there talking. I seen them kept saying a gray car, but they mind you, I'm at my car. I'm parked over there. So you know, I ain't being funny. I'm like, damn. >> I seen the Spanish people over there and I hear them saying kids in a gray car. So you know, I ain't going to care. I turned around like what the [ __ ] they pointing at. They keep saying kids in the car by >> I never saw her like around the area. >> Them people that Spanish them people say them are kids. them kids. When I pulled them out the back, them kids are holding sweat, bro. They diapers so they smell like >> and she went to take her to go find the mama. So she Yeah, she asked me to watch him while I go. She go find the mama and I just gave him the water. So >> did did she leave him in the car until you watch him or [music] did you are you the one that took them out and put him in the shopping cart? >> No, I took I put them in the shopping cart. I just took them out the car. >> Okay. You're the one that took Okay. >> heard him talking and I told her I was going to leave. He said, "No, don't leave." cuz they really going to take me by theirelves. And then that's when I said, "Well, just watch the phone while I go leave the mama." >> Yeah, I got you. All right, just stand by for a second. All right. >> Did you two come here together? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you left them in the car by themselves? >> No. So, what? >> Conflicting explanations were given as officers worked to establish a clear timeline of events. >> Yeah. First, >> I pulled him out and then that's when I realized it was another baby. So, but you seen them in the car by themselves? >> Yeah, they was. And then she I got her out and when when I pulled her out, that's when I seen that one. And I >> So that must have been when she came to get me to get my car. >> No. So, I wasn't in the car alone. But they were alone for long enough for multiple people to call 91. >> So, when she got hurt, that lady >> got hurt so we could We was like, let's just go try to find the mom cuz they was already on the phone with police, you know. I said, "What the phone?" >> So, with all this being said, you left your kids alone. Hold on. >> Leave them alone. I went in the store to give her the car. I went in there to give her my bank card. >> No, no, no. But you have to understand, you left them alone long enough for multiple people to call for their wellbeing. It is what it is, right? Lesson learned. We're not going to do that again because if she would have put the car in drive or put the car in reverse, that's a rem that's a freaking removal, right? Cus will be called. Officers emphasized that leaving children unattended in a vehicle creates serious safety risks regardless of intent. >> Cannot do that. I'm sorry. It is what it is. I understand you're trying to do whatever it is that you got to do, but mom to mom, it's 90° outside. You left him in the car long enough, multiple people call 911. It cannot happen. Not only that, you left them in there long enough that someone was able enough to remove them from the car, have fire rescue come, then have the police come. That's too long. Do you understand where I'm coming from? Okay, it's South Florida. People kidnap kids all the time and that's the easy lick. >> So before we go, I need to make sure those car seats are installed correctly. >> How old are the little ones? >> She's two. >> Grandma, that ain't going to work. >> They got to still get it up. She got to take her out. >> Whose phone is this? >> Sit down right now. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. >> How old is this one? >> She's two. >> And the little one. >> I'm going to tell you this right now. These aren't the correct car seats >> for them. We Walmart has video cameras. The kids were by themselves for 37 minutes approximately. 37. >> Further investigation, including store surveillance showed the children had been left alone for an extended period. 7 minutes. I don't know if you let time escape you, whatever. But at the end of the day, they left 37 minutes unattended for >> that's But it was though cuz we got it on camera. We have you walking in. We have both you guys walking in and then we have you walking out with the cart and then the lady in the purple dress coming to get you. It's between 37 and 40 minutes. Okay. My sergeant is on his way out here. I think he's going to come out here to talk to you and figure out what to do here. But mom, you can't do that. Does your AC work? >> Okay. >> I just got the back. >> Okay. All right. Well, you guys just got to wait. Okay. >> So, tell me what happened today. >> So, we were walking. I I usually never park here. I usually park there. So, we happened to come to Walmart and we started walking. And as we got to the door, before the door, her son is the one that noticed that there was a sound coming like a knock. A knock on the back of the trunk. Did you see them? >> I saw the car seat. >> He saw the car seats, but he said, "I think there's somebody in there." >> So, you noticed the sound in the back of the trunk? >> Yeah. As we started walking down there, then I then he said, "Let's go take a look." So, I thought about it. I said, "That's not that couldn't be true." But I went and took a look anyways. So, we had nothing to do. So, when we look, I don't see nobody there. but he's the one that noticed that there was uh they were stuffed in the back of the the truck. >> Supervisors were called to the scene as officers discussed possible protective actions. >> And I said, "Oh my god, there are people back there. There's kids." >> Would you How do you know that there was kids in the trunk? >> Because we were looking inside the the car. >> Looking inside the car, >> correct? >> And you saw what? A hand, a foot. >> I seen I seen foot and I seen diapers and stuff a little bit like that moving. >> So you seen a foot sticking out? >> Yes. Yes, ma'am. >> All right. Okay. So, hold on. >> That's when I called quickly. The car was off. There was no AC blowing in there. And we even looked in the car. The car car was completely off. >> Who do you live with? >> I have my own place. >> You don't live with anybody? >> No. >> You have any family member in the area? >> Why am I going to go to jail? >> To be honest, yes. >> Why? What did I do wrong? >> Okay. So, I'm going to explain this to you, right? I have two witnesses. We're just going to I'm going to explain it. So, you have I have two witnesses, mom to mom, cuz I have a 5-year-old. I have two witnesses that called 911. Your kids were found in the trunk of a car with Oh, yes. >> They play in the trunk of the car. They wasn't found in no trunk of the car. >> No, no, no. That's how they got noticed cuz they heard a >> Yeah, cuz they be playing in the trunk. You can ask my daughter. >> No, no, no. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care about that. This >> You can ask why. They always be playing in the trunk. They always >> in 90° weather. >> The car was on. >> No, it wasn't. >> I swear to you, you can ask my child. She could tell you the car was on. >> Okay, but you can ask my daughter. >> Authorities explained that immediate decisions were required to ensure the children's wellbeing. >> The car was on. >> She's seven. I'm talking to >> It doesn't matter what I talk to them. They're going to ask my daughter questions and she's going to tell them. It's >> They're also going to talk to two grown adults, not a seveny old. But y'all not taking my my story either. Y'all just taking somewhere? >> Yeah, but not for long. >> For 37 minutes. >> I saw you on camera inside that store and you were gone for 37 minutes. >> So I'm trying to help you out. >> No, because I saw >> you don't have any family members. >> I told her that I was not going to go in the store, >> but because I had need to grab a few extra things, I still didn't need to go in my first month. I've never been to no jail. >> We know. We know. >> But you need to call. >> The situation concluded with officers taking enforcement action and arranging care for the children. >> Family member to go work with them. Do you understand? >> I cannot afford to go to jail. >> Okay. Look, it's either it's either you can find a family member. The incident concluded with the mother arrested and charged with child neglect. The children released to their grandmother and authorities continuing a review to determine any further actions. Short absences [music] can still lead to serious consequences when children are left unattended. Public safety decisions are based on risk, not intentions or explanations after the fact. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. [music] This situation never should have reached this point. Adults need to think before acting. It's frustrating to see preventable choices put others at risk. There's no excuse for ignoring basic responsibility, especially in public places. That thief thought they had it all figured out. But the next one, even sneakier. Stay tuned and comment your guess. >> After the incident, after you fell, did you take them to a doctor? >> No. >> Okay. You didn't? >> No. Well, I guess I don't know whether they have kids or not, but >> I'll tell you, I do have kids and I know what to do if something like that happens. >> Yeah. something like what happens >> if a child falls or something like that. I would >> his >> on September 8th, 2024, a worried mom called police when she noticed her 2-year-old son had marks after spending the week with their dad. >> Listen. So, >> how are you? I'm Faith. >> Hello. Nice to meet you. >> My wish came in here. >> So, this is this is Sean. Okay. >> And this is what I'm talking about. The bruises right here. And >> he said he fell. >> Okay. Can you turn his head? >> I look at the ears here. >> It's just like real quick. >> Yeah. >> Mommy was in here. >> Right here. >> Hey buddy. >> Do you think it's a normal fall? >> And it's not only one time happen. Is it just here like right? >> Yeah. And also here and also his head is right here. The scratch right there. >> Okay. Can I keep Let me just check the rest. >> Okay. >> Hey little guy. He's not too happy. >> Yeah. I think he's in pain in his head cuz it's like >> All right. We can set him down for a second. Oh, can we uh can actually just look the rest of them over like pop his shirt off? Yeah. >> Yeah. Come on, boy. >> Mommy, the gecko. >> Is there anything else you noticed? >> Um, this one only here. >> Okay. On his chest. What are these bumps he's got going on on his back? What? >> Like an eczema right there. Ema? >> Yeah, this one. >> Okay. And can I see his legs? >> Mommy, the one in here. >> Yeah, it's all right, baby. So far, it's all in his head. >> He's got a little scratch under his eye. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And was when was the last time he was here at this like at your like at your home like not with the father? >> Um last last week cuz we have our arrangement is like every other week. >> Mhm. >> And they just got here. They >> he's been at his father's house for approximately a week. >> Yes. >> And did he have >> The mother reports this has happened multiple times following visitation exchanges. Officers photographed the injuries and confirmed the marks appear recent. >> Any other uh marks like that when he was at here >> before he went to his father? >> No. >> Okay. So that all that >> is from his >> from when he was with the father. >> Yes. >> You spoke the father and what the father telling. >> Yeah. He said he has a big head. He fell. That's it. That's all I hear like you know you need you need to do this one. And it's already three consecutive Sundays. Every time he drop off the kids, it's always like that. I have a lots of pictures. I have a lots of >> Okay. >> And his head all that is fresh from this time. That is not I mean none of that is lasting from the past times. You're saying that he's had a new one. >> Specifically from this week only. That's when those occurred. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Can I uh can I can you bring him back over here again? I need to take a couple photos. It's all right. It's all right. >> I'm I'm going to get is the one on his chest first. Can you >> Okay. Let me see his eye. Let me get the one on his eye. Let me see. >> All right. >> Okay. I kind of got that one. >> Oh, >> officers inform the mother that detectives will continue the investigation. They [snorts] advise her to call if the father attempts to retrieve the child before the matter is resolved. >> His lips too. >> Let me see. >> Oh, look at that. >> Okay. Yeah. [laughter] [crying] >> It's all right. >> I know. I know, buddy. I just want to make sure you know that because it's already three times and I'm tired of you know telling him that when you do this again I'm going to call the police and he's not >> and all he said is he just he falls it >> yes >> does he have like a girlfriend or anything he's with he's with a girlfriend >> do you know if she ever like takes care of him >> actually there's between a favorite season between cuz she's um daddy's girl and in our situation it's kind of like he what do you call that? He's blaming him. >> Mhm. >> Of of our like relationship that didn't work out. >> No, >> he's not blaming him. >> And he I know he's not capable of taking care of two kids cuz he has a back problem. >> He has a chronic back problem. Do you guys have a child custody agreement? >> We're still working on it. Yeah. >> So, you you guys sharing him is just what you guys have agreed upon yourselves until >> No, we have a lawyer. >> Okay. You do have a lawyer. Okay. So, there is some kind of agreement. >> Yes. Yes. >> Okay. Do you know what his phone number is? >> Yeah. And he said he cuz last time I told him that I might call police when it's going to happen again. >> And now he said you can call police. >> Okay. I'm going to set it up. >> All righty. Uh, can you give me a couple minutes? >> Oh, yeah. >> I'll be right back. >> All right. So, >> this back copy is for you. >> This is for me. Um, I notified my sergeant. The detective was notified. So, they're going to come out here. They're going to continue the investigation pretty much. I'm going to tell them what I have so far. They'll come out and they'll continue it. They'll get in contact. >> Officers contact the father. He states the child fell while playing on a small trampoline in a bedroom. He denies any intentional harm and says the child frequently falls. Okay. >> Thank you. You too. >> Bye. >> Bye. Bye. >> I'm doing good. How are you? >> Great. >> Okay. So, we got a case called into the department because of your son Sean. >> Okay. >> Because of the bruising he had on his face. >> It was called into us, but there was some concerns as to how he got >> Okay. [groaning] >> Uh, four years. >> Four years. Yeah. >> Okay. >> And you two share one child or two child? Two children together. Okay. >> We We're on one week on, one week off. >> Okay. And this week we're >> Mommy has the kids. >> Mommy has and I'm off this week. >> Just a quick question if you don't mind me asking. When he fell and got those bruises on his face, did he complain of like any injuries at all? >> No. >> No. >> No. >> Hey, hey, listen. So, so he he was born with an imperforated anus, and I don't know what you know what that means. >> He doesn't have a he didn't have a butthole. >> Oh, wow. That's great. Most people have no idea what that is. This kid has been through so much. Wait. You know, when you I don't know. Do you have kids? >> No, sir. >> I do. >> Okay. You know, when you bring a baby home, you look 10, you know, fingers, 10 toes, all that stuff. And you don't think about having a butthole. That's how good this kid is. >> And so, we're used to medically treating this child. They, you know, they don't give you six months or anything. They give you six days. The kid's got a cluster bag, an osttomy, a fistula, you know, so we know how to take care of our child, right? >> Like he he falls a lot. Look at his head. He's a big head kid. We we joke about it. >> Yeah. Was there anyone else in the room? >> Officers request to see the trampoline and clarify the timeline. The father says he does not recall the exact day of the fall, but confirms it happened during his custodial week. >> Looking what you found? >> Uh, we were all just kind of playing around. not a man. >> So, I just I don't want you to like feel like we think anything happened, but because Nicole came into the department and because he did have the marks and bruises and it came in as though no one knew what happened to him, which is why we had to come and speak to you. >> Oh, okay. So, I got Okay, that's fine. >> I need to see the the trampoline that he was jumping on and fell off of. >> You need to see the trampoline hit the trampoline? >> Mhm. >> I have to take a picture of it. >> We have to physically see it. >> Okay, >> that's fine. What's discipline like for the kids? >> What's that? >> What's discipline like? >> We don't really have not much discipline. Mommy puts them in the corners. We, you know, we just >> Time out. >> Yeah. We just don't we just don't have a whole lot of that that issue, you know? >> You have any questions for myself? >> Um, what what kind of what happens from here? You know, I mean, I guess so. I'm assuming >> so when when we so we switch off on Sundays, uh, we don't talk to each other during the week. we used to, but then anyway, mommy didn't didn't want to do that anymore. So, uh, we virtually spent the whole week, you know, without communication with the other party. Uh, came back Sunday about 3 minutes late. I let her know before that, uh, before that happened. >> And I said, "Hey, uh, you know, Aaron, uh, got got a 93 on her assessment." She was really great. Um, Sean was playing in his room, fell down, he bruised his face. What happened? What happened? I said, "You know, we were playing in his room. We're all right around Jump and and he bruised his face." >> Did this happen on Sunday? >> Did it happen on Sunday? >> No. I honestly I I really don't recall what what day that happened. I just don't >> Where's the trampoline uh set up at? >> It's It's in a little It's in the front front bedroom. >> Front bedroom. >> Okay. >> It It happened during the >> During a follow-up interview, the father repeats that the child fell while playing and did not cry significantly. He acknowledges visible redness but denies noticing severe bruising at the time. >> The weekend though, right? He went to school with like bruising on the teachers would have definitely said something happened like over the weekend. >> So is there somebody that called this in? >> Yes. Someone called into the hotline or did online. >> Okay. So it could have been anybody. Could have been my wife. Could have been somebody else. You're not li saying that. No. Yeah. >> Oh, children ar weren't here. They're they're at the mom's house right now. Do you need to see the children? >> Um I did. >> Okay. So, you already saw them. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I've seen them. Uh your son the marks on his face is not as I guess severe as they were when uh when he first returned home from >> and every time we and she's been doing the last couple of weeks and Sean just falls down. We all know this, you know. We just do. He climbs on everything, you know. Yeah. >> And that's we we just Well, what happened? Life happened, you know. >> But you were in the room with him when it happened. It wasn't like he were all just kind of playing down at the end of the >> That makes sense. Did you see that? >> So, everybody has to come down to my house. >> I don't know. >> I need at least one person with me. >> Oh. Oh, okay. That that's fine. I just didn't know. Whatever you guys want to do, man. All three want to go down here. I just need to get the golf cart by like a a moment. Hello. >> Hi, Mr. Black. How are you? >> Great. >> Sorry. Sorry about you. >> Yeah, >> it's okay. Okay. Sorry. I was out back. I was >> Sorry. >> I was I was just out back. >> Oh. Oh, it's fine. So, um remember we were here the other day about the um incident that occurred. We just have to come. >> I just want to tell you, listen, um I got a really bad ear infection in both ears, so it's really hard for me to hear you guys. You ever had that where your sinuses are all blocked up? Yeah. Do you speak to do you prefer to for us to talk out here or is I I know >> we're fine right we're here. I just wanted to advise you that that I just really having a hard time. So this is based on with the incident that occurred. Um so we just have to come back out and just talk to you again about the incident and just do another interview. >> Officers question why medical care was not sought despite visible discoloration. The father maintains he did not believe the injuries required professional evaluation. Is that okay? That's cool. >> Yes, that's that's fine. That's fine. >> Yeah, there's some stuff that's a little vague that we just need some clarification. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. So, >> would you guys like something to drain? >> No, sir. Thank you very much. Appreciate it. >> Thank you. And you're >> okay. Okay. >> Camera recording, please. Um, so >> he can't really hear. So, I'm like he has like 10% of his hearing. >> That's fine. So, like I said, I'm just reading this to you because it's per policy and we just have to do this before we question you. You have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions. >> I do understand your rights. >> I do understand my rights. >> With these rights in mind, do you wish to speak to me? >> Um, sure. I'll have a casual conversation with you. I have a couple of questions. Are you placing me under arrest? >> This is just an interview. >> Okay. Okay. Well, uh Okay. >> Like I said, we were here the other day. We just had a brief conversation >> um about the injuries that your kid sustained, your son. So, can you just go back to that day about how the injuries came about on your son? >> Okay. We were all messing around. What I mean, you guys have been in here. >> Camera recording >> the room right back here. It's got two little trampolines in it. Whatever day it was, we were jumping around back there, messing around, jumping on the bean bag chairs, messing around. Sean was jumping kind of fell, hit the hit the ground. No crying, no nothing. I mean, it was just right there. >> A normal fall. >> Did you see him? Was that >> Did you see him? >> I mean, to say see him, I was in the same room, but it was just like we're, >> you know, he didn't get up crying. He >> was in the same room. >> I'm sorry. >> Who was in the same room? >> Uh, from my recollection, it was just kind of me and Sean and Aaron. We're just goofing around. We've got a little play castle and stuff in there, so we just kind of go between the rooms. So, >> okay. >> That's about as much as I can tell you, you know. >> Do you know exactly when this happened? When he fell? >> I'm sorry. >> Do you remember when he fell? >> Like the day? >> I I really don't. Uh-uh. >> Do you remember when when your child went back to the mom's house? >> On Sunday. We sw. So, my understanding this he fell the day the days before you. How long did you have him? >> A week. From Sunday to Sunday. >> What's your name again? >> My name Corpal Rodriguez. >> Okay. Okay. Listen. Yeah. I've got two children. You have children? >> Maybe. >> Okay. Well, Man, >> if you ever do have be fortunate to have kids, you know, um you know, they fall and they rub the house, you tell them play. Sean, you know, he he climbs and you were in the house. We have a lot of stuff that they climb on and stuff. So, he's we're kind of used to him doing that and and he falls and stuff like that. So, Aaron, I just have this joke that, you know, Sean falls in more than one day than Aaron falls in his whole career. And I think I said that last time. That's really about all I really have to add to kind of whatever statement I made. >> When he when he fell, did you do anything to him as in render him any aid or >> From my he fell, rolled over, were all goofing around? He didn't even cry. >> So, he didn't complain of any injury anymore at all. >> Did you see any bruising or markings on his face or his person? >> It might have been a little red, but it it looked during the evening it got got redder. It wasn't. He didn't complain about it at all. >> Would you say that he got swollen if he puffed up a little bit? >> No, not not really swollen. It was just >> Officers determine probable cause based on the injuries and lack of medical treatment. The [snorts] father is placed under arrest and transported to the county jail for booking with a first court appearance scheduled for the following morning. >> Yes. >> After the incident, after you fell, did you take him to a doctor? >> No. >> Okay. You didn't? >> No. But I guess I don't know whether they have kids or not. But >> I'll tell you I do have kids and I know what to do if something like that happens. >> Yeah. Something like what happens? >> If a child falls or something like that cuz kids fall alive, you know. Um anyway, so I did what I thought was was prudent and pertinent. You know, if there's something wrong with him, uh you we take care of that. I didn't find any need. >> That's that's what I was asking is what how did you take care of it? just it's just it's like one of the little bumps and bruises that you get, you know. I mean, you know, we had a peanut bath that night and you know, just when they handed him off and I was telling uh mommy about the you braids and I said Sean fell, he scratched his face. She and she does this every single time when we meet. She's very fussy, you know, and I just try to be a good guy and go, "Hey, what else you need?" I write my check and I come home and and I'm a peaceful guy, man. However, there were more than just scratches. There was there was significant discoloration to his to his face area and also to his chest. Um so it's something that would be noticeable. >> Okay. >> Um and you did not take him to the hospital or to the doctor to be checked out for um the injuries that was sustained. >> There was no significant bruising when we >> Yeah. I I I so I didn't notice any significant bruising. I I all I saw was the mark on on the face that and it wasn't you know listen I know know that kid pretty good you know um >> well we understand that but there's some certain requirements in the set of law >> no I um with that in mind I do have probable cause to just put you under >> put your hands together as if you're praying please >> um I'll explain everything to you in a minute on >> he has a lot of Can you get some slippers or something? >> Can he go to the bathroom and put some grab me? This is not or we would have I would have said no and we would have asked to speak to an attorney and you lied. That's disappointing. >> You literally said this is an interview. This is not an arrest. He asked you that. >> I asked you that. >> But you I I read you your rights. >> Yeah, I I did ask. I said are you an arrest? I asked you that. This was an interview. >> Okay. >> And based based >> and you said you said >> this was an interview. I told you that this was >> Okay. Well, I'm not mad at you. I'm just So, listen, I'm not resisting or anything. So, can I make uh >> We'll get We'll get some shoes for you and everything and I'll let you use the restroom once we get to the >> We'll take all your property. That way it makes it easier. >> You have anything in your pocket that you might want to leave here at the house? >> Uh I got my little vape. >> Just a vape. >> Just it just take. What's her name? >> So, so what happens from here? >> We're going to we're going to take you to the county jail to be booked in. Um, you're going to see you're going to see the judge. He's going to have first appearance in the morning, correct? >> Yes. >> First appearance in the morning. The judge will will have some medications I need to take. >> They have a nurse at the jail. You can let the nurse know and they'll be able to provide you with the medication that you need. Okay. I'm going to get you some slippers and once I take you to the district, I'll let you use the bathroom. >> Okay. Okay. Great. >> All right. We'll get you some slippers. Once you get to the district, I'll let you use the restroom and I'll get you a drink of water. >> The father was charged with child abuse. Remember, visible injuries to a young child may require medical evaluation, even if the incident appears minor at first. When concerns arise during custody exchanges, documentation, and timely reporting can initiate formal review processes. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. If there are bruises like that, getting medical care seems like the safest move. Custody situations can get complicated quickly. Glad officers documented everything carefully. The tension is already high, or so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life. Pause and comment what you do here. The next incident is when mom teaches her child all the wrong lessons during this traffic stop. >> I don't want to leave my daughter by herself. Ma'am, you should have given me your info. Now it's out of your hands. Okay. >> Cuz this is harassment. >> How is this harassment? I have no idea who you are. Do you understand what harassment? >> Just like I don't know who you are either. >> On June 1st, 2024 in Palm Beach County officers conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle fail to make a complete stop and noticing dark window tint. The driver refuses to lower the window and declines to exit the vehicle when instructed. >> Third and double. >> Are you serious? >> Got all four tires. >> Hello. >> How are you doing? >> Can you lower the window for my partner? Who is my partner? Can you lower the window for him? >> Why? >> Cuz I'm asking you to lower the window so he can see what's going on inside. >> Why? >> Cuz I'm asking you to. Can you lower the window? If not, he's going to open the door cuz he can't see inside. >> No, he cannot open my car. >> Step out the car real quick. Come on. Come on. Come on. Step out the car. Why would you be asking me to step out the car? What's the problem? >> Come on. Get out the car. >> No, you do not. >> Get out the car, man. Get out the car. I'm going to take you out the car. >> Get out the car. I'm going to pull you out the car. >> Get out the car. Pull out the car. Easy that. You're making this difficult. >> Let's go. Thank you. >> I'm sorry. >> Yes, that's okay, baby. Just chill. >> Come, baby. Tom, >> come over here. Listen, the reason why we're stopping you is cuz you fail to come to a complete stop over there. Third and double. >> Are you serious? >> Because all four tires need to come to a complete stop. >> Okay. >> And you got a driver license? >> Yes, I do. >> You want to give my partner your information, ma'am? Ma'am, you stay here. Let me get it for you. >> He said, "Give me give." >> No, he said, "Do you want to give my partner?" >> He can't He can't go in my ma'am. >> Hello. >> Like that's ridiculous. What the hell is >> The driver repeatedly asks if she is under arrest and states she does not consent to identifying herself, claiming the stop is unlawful. Officers explain that during a traffic stop, the driver must provide identification. >> What's the problem? >> Let's go. Let's go back over. >> I get what you're saying, but come on now. You >> in the car. >> We can stand. Listen. We can stand here and look inside of the car. Anything we see there is plain view. Plain view train. You can look it up. We came to >> So does the door has to be open. Then >> if you can just look in the car, you see it through the window and go through the point the door open. >> Go close my car. >> You can stay there. >> Yo, ma'am. Ma'am, relax. >> What are you doing here? Like come on, man. >> Stay here. You guys are doing way too much. We're not >> We're doing way too much. You pulled me over for practically no reason. I stopped at the stop sign >> and they pulled you over for the stop sign. Okay. >> Okay. >> The reason if you want to stand right here, I'll explain everything to you. But as of right now, you guys are making this very difficult. >> All right. Can you Can you get off your phone and listen to me? >> I'm going to record for my >> Yeah, feel free feel free to record. >> Okay. >> All right. So, we He's asking that you roll the windows down because we have no idea who's in the car. We have no idea what dangers are inside of the car. So, it's for officer safety reasons. Okay? That's why he asked you to do that. If you say, "No, I don't want to," then the partner can open the door to ensure that everything is safe. >> I'm not. That's against my rights. I know you can't do that. >> Okay. No. What's your name? >> Am I under arrest? >> You can't. >> It's a traffic stop. >> Am I under arrest? >> You want to You want to identify yourself? >> Am I under arrest? It's a traffic stop. So therefore, you have to identify yourself. If you don't, you will be under arrest. Your dark >> is that against the law? >> Yes, ma'am. >> My dark statute. It's a traffic law. Yes, ma'am. >> And they're not even that dark. >> Okay. Can you get the tent meter? And then you also ran the stop sign. All right. We're really not trying to make this a big deal. We really aren't. You took it there. You escalated it. Now, we're still trying to deescalate it. I'm asking you for your info so that we can go about the traffic. >> But I don't choose to identify myself. Okay, then I'm going to >> After multiple warnings that refusal to identify would lead to arrest, the driver continues declining, officers place her under arrest for failure to identify and obstruction related to the traffic investigation. >> Have to place her under arrest in front of your daughter and I don't want to have to do that. And then we're going to have to start for failure to identify. You're obstructing our investigation. >> Arrest anybody. >> You're obstructing our investigation. Let's not do this investigation. What am I under investigation for? But what did I do wrong? You have to have an actual emergency or you have to suspect an emergency. There was no emergency. And you guys know that. >> You're wrong. >> You're wrong. >> So So you're saying the only time we can pull a car over is only for an emergency. >> Yes. That's literally what you guys are for. You if you don't have I didn't get if I'm not suspect for a crime, you don't have a right to pull me over. >> I'm going to ask you in 3 seconds. Can you identify yourself if you don't? Not because that's your back. You're under arrest. >> Can I at least call somebody? >> No. No. You want to do all of this? No. We're going to call DCF and DCF is going to >> And you know I'm going to take you all to court, right? >> Okay. Everything is being recorded. >> The driver's 10-year-old daughter remains at the scene. Officers informed the mother that the Department of Children and Families, DCF, will be notified due to the arrest occurring in the child's presence. >> Have a right to call someone. >> Yeah. Get my phone. >> Can you give her my phone so she can call? >> That's horrible. I cannot believe you guys are doing this. >> We can't believe we have to do this. >> Why would you have to do this? I have done nothing wrong. And you know that there's no crime. If I can see you arresting me for a crime, I have not committed one crime. >> Oh my god. >> This is completely tyrannical. >> Come over here, please. >> Can I get my mother's phone so I can call my family members? Because you're trying to arrest my mother. >> Yeah, she we're not trying. She is arrested. >> Okay. Well, then I have a right to call someone to come and pick me up, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. We're going to make sure you're in good hands. >> Okay. So, I'm going to go and and call my sister and my brother and my father so he can come and pick me up. >> So, can I go ahead and call my get my mother? >> I have your mom's phone. Just hang tight. Yeah, just hang tight. >> I know her password. >> Hang tight, ma'am. Okay. I know you're trying to act like an adult, but you're not. You're still a kid. All right? So, act like a child and be respectful. Okay? I don't know what your your mom has taught you, but she hasn't taught you respect. Okay? So, just relax. trying to be disrespectful and I apologize if you get that from me. But >> too late to apologize. >> Okay. Well, then I take my apology if that's what you want. But I would like to call my father. >> Sir, >> I want to call my father. >> We're going to walk. >> You're under arrest. Officers explain the legal basis for the stop failure to stop completely and illegal window tint. They clarify that identification is required during lawful traffic stops. The driver continues disputing the legality. >> Leave my daughter by ma'am. You should have given me your info. Now it's out of your hands. Okay. >> So, do do you want do you want to give me your info and then I'll give you my info? But you understand what you're doing is wrong. Correct. >> No, I don't. >> Okay. All right. Walk. >> Keep walking. >> This is so wrong. What's your name? I >> Thomas. I'm Detective Thomas. We're all detectives. >> Okay. And you still haven't told me what I was being arrested for. >> I just I just told you to identify, man. >> Failure to identify is not a crime. >> Okay. >> Obstructing my investigation. >> What? Investigation into what? What did I do wrong? To be investigated. >> Again, >> no weapons or anything on you. >> Do you have Are those shorts underneath? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Believe you have me leaving my 10-year-old daughter with They are complete strangers. >> Have to see. >> Like this is so wrong. >> You understand? Us as adults, we we have responsibilities and >> Yes, we do. And you and you know your job. You know your job just like I do. Put your feet inside, man. >> Okay, so I'm going to explain it to you from the beginning. Okay, >> we were there. I'm quite sure you saw us. All right, you were coming southbound southbound on Douglas. Okay, when you came up to third and Douglas, you didn't make a complete stop at the stop sign while you were passing us. We saw that you had dark t on your vehicle. Okay, those are two traffic infractions that we have every right to pull you over for. Okay, so we do a traffic stop. You come to a stop here. My partner comes up to the car before he passes, as any good officer would, they ask you to let the back window down because it's dark and we can't see inside. Okay? There's many instances where when officers walk up the cars, people shoot at an officer, shoot and kill him. Okay? It it does happen. All right? So, my offic u my fellow detective, he asked you to do that. You you say you didn't want to. So, we ask you to get out of the car, which we have every right to. Okay? Also, it goes back to officer safety. We have no idea what's in the car. So, you get out of the car and I asked you to identify yourself. I explained the two infractions that we had to stop you and you told me essentially that it's not an emergency and therefore it's no investigation going on. Okay. So, that ma'am is incorrect. It's a traffic stop. It's a lawful investigation. This is all being recorded on my body warn camera. So, therefore, this is why you're in handcuffs. The reason you're in handcuffs is because you said you are not identifying yourself. And I explained to you, I said, "If you don't identify yourself, you will be arrested." And you said, "Well, I'm not giving you my information." Okay. So, from this point, so I placed you in a handcuffs and as of right now, you are under arrest. Okay. So, it's failed to identify. >> The driver eventually offers to identify herself under duress, but officers state she is already under arrest. They [snorts] warn that refusing to identify could result in booking as Jane Doe >> or obstruction, whichever whichever route you want to go, that's the name of of the charge. Okay. Um, so your daughter is here. Unfortunately, now DCF is going to have to get involved because you chose to do all of this stuff in front of your daughter, which is something that's not even necessary. Okay. So, um, do you wish to identify yourself now? If not, we're going to take you to the apartment if we can't identify who you are if the vehicle is not registered to you. >> I identify myself, but under duress. >> So, I'll identify myself because I don't want to be I don't want to leave my daughter here. >> Okay. What do you mean by under duress? >> Meaning I'm being forced to do this. So, I'm going to identify myself. >> This is a traffic stop. Have you been pulled over before? >> Have you been pulled over before? >> Um, I'm going to identify myself. >> Have you been pulled over before? Um because I don't want to leave my daughter here by herself. >> So I'm going to go ahead and identify myself. >> If you're calling DCF on my child, why would I have to identify myself? That's not true. She had She definitely had >> She didn't have a seat belt on. >> She had on her seat belt. >> My body camera was on. We can review it if you want. >> Exactly. What did you say? >> Exactly. >> Come on, man. Like this is Come on, man. >> I said I don't want to leave her here. And why are you guys calling DCF if I'm telling you I'm identifying myself? >> If she's not being left here by herself, then >> am I going am I being arrested? >> Yes, ma'am. You are. >> That's why you're in handcuffs. That's why you're in the back of a car. That's why you're separated. >> So, if I'm being arrested anyway, why why would I identify myself? >> Because you have to. If you don't, then you're just going to go to the Palm Beach County jail under Jane Doe and you're going to stand there until you tell them your name. Okay. I don't get it. Do you have a warrant or something? >> No, I don't. I don't get it. I feel like because this is harassment. >> How is this harassment? We have no idea who you are. You understand what harassment? >> Just like I don't know who you are either, but I have rights. >> Just because you're a police officer does not mean you can just do whatever you want to do. >> And I know I didn't commit a crime. >> Yeah. I don't understand how like how can I explain this to you any better? So, >> hey, listen. I can understand if See, I'm not a dummy. You understand? I study law myself. >> You're just misinformed. >> No, I'm not misinformed. >> You are, ma'am. I'm telling I'm not lying to you. My body camera is recorded. >> I get it. >> I'm trying to educate. >> This happens a lot, but I'm not what I I'm not trying to give you a problem, but I know I wasn't being a problem. And for you guys to be doing, >> you committed to infractions. Okay. Therefore, we conduct we conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle. When we conduct the traffic stop, the drive driving is a privilege. Okay. The driver is forced. >> I'm not driving. I'm traveling. So, that's another issue. >> Okay. Okay. You're Okay. Sit back. >> Alia, tell Nana to come and get my car, please. >> The car is being told. >> Why would my car be towed? For what? >> It works out that you're here. Um because I would be able to hand your sister over to you. Um, unfortunately your mom uh failed to identify herself in a lawful traffic stop and refused to over and over again and she subsequently arrested. >> Officers speak with the daughter, explain DCF procedures, and arrange for the child's father to respond to the scene to assume custody >> for failing to identify herself. >> So, that's where we're at. >> For what? I'm sorry. >> Failing to identify yourself. you know, when uh when we pull someone over, the person does not have the legal and lawful rights. >> How? >> I'm so sorry. >> So, so hold on a second. You didn't know that we have to identify the driver of a vehicle that's driving a car? >> Um I'm I've heard or whatever. >> Uhhuh. >> But I never heard of somebody just getting arrested because >> Well, what happens if they say no? Do we just let them go for not give them a ticket? >> Uh warrant or whatever. >> Who are we warning? Best way. >> Who are we warning? Like basically if you have any suspicions of anything like that. >> Nope. I don't know who taught you that, but whoever taught you that just got your mom arrested. >> I don't know. Whatever. But she studies law. >> Okay. Well, >> she knows more than me. >> Well, she's going to jail. >> Um, just hang tight over here. Um, >> we're not done yet. We'll we'll hand her off to you. Do you have a a driver's license on you? >> Yes, I do. after uh this. >> Can I also call Well, >> do you have your driver's license on you? >> Yeah, I do. >> I know. I'm She's on the street. Hello. >> Can I get my purse out the car? They're going to tow the car. >> We'll relax. We'll get everything when we're telling you it's okay to do so. Okay. Um, I don't really feel comfortable situation. >> Well, well, obviously cuz your mother doesn't know how to act. So, >> can you can you write down her name and date of birth and stuff so I can give it to uh DCF, please? Thank you. >> Department of Children and Families, ma'am. >> Do you do you know who that is? >> I don't really know. You could explain it to me. >> I I will. So basically, Department of Children and Families, anytime uh a parent or a child is involved, DCF comes and basically they'll do their investigation to ensure that the child is being treated fairly. >> My mother treated very well. >> No, I I understand that, but unfortunately, she's being arrested by us right now and >> in front of you. >> In front of you, so we have to send this to DCF. >> It's making it a lot worse than what it really had to be. >> Okay. >> Right. But I feel like there's no need for that. >> We have to. It's it's protocol. >> Wow. >> So DCF, they'll come and they'll do their own investigation to ensure that you know you're not being neglected, etc. >> They'll give you They'll give you guys some uh like some resources if you >> I don't see why that's needed if I'm telling you right now. >> Okay. I It's protocol, man. What's your name? >> Uh >> what's your name? Um, sorry. I'm just trying to figure out the problem here because >> I'm crying right now. I don't think we have a problem. >> Yeah, but we have >> So, why would we need to contact? >> Because as of right now, you're by yourself and we have to either take you to DCF or we have to find your your parent or guardian because your mother is going to jail. So, in order for us to turn you over to somebody else, we need to know your name and information so that we can find out who your father is and contact him. >> I can give you my father's information. That's what you need. >> Okay. He'll he'll do that. But you don't want to give him your your uh your name. >> Once I have my other parent here, like I'd be more worried. >> She's she's going to jail. >> Yeah, but once I have my father here to be able to >> Okay, just give him your give him your dad's name and phone number. >> Thank you. >> I'm trying I'm trying to find her name. Are you going through my mother's stuff? >> I am. >> You have a warrant for that? >> No, I don't need a warrant, ma'am. I'm inventorying the car so that I can ensure that nothing is stolen out of the car. >> Oh, well, I'm not taking stolen like >> No, the car is being told. So, I'm I'm making sure that nothing goes missing so that when your mom gets out of jail, everything is still here. That's what I'm doing. It's an inventory. It's not not a search. >> Okay, >> understood. [music] >> License, no bueno. And there's a seat tag. Case tag order >> for the RO and she's >> license no good and there's a cease tag order. >> Is it her? Does it look like >> that? Do you guys have a um >> like this is being handled right and my daughter's still being left alone and she has her her >> Did you identify yourself? >> I tried to but he said I was being arrested. >> No, no, you're still being arrested. But listen, so now we run into the problem that we can't hand your daughter over to someone in your Hold on, let me finish to someone in your family cuz we can't identify if these people are family members because we don't know who you are. So it's our responsibility. So now we >> officers confirm charges, failure to identify/obstruction, driving with a suspended license, and compliance with a seize tag order. the mother is transported to jail. >> We have to identify you. We have to identify your daughter. And we have to identify the person that we're going to hand your daughter over to because that's all got to be put in a police report. Cuz if we just hand your daughter or someone that you tell us is your daughter. >> Okay. I I'll identify myself because I want my daughter to be she's never been through anything like this before. >> Well, she was very rude for never being through anything. She was very rude. Very very rude. >> My daughter probably would too. If if you treat it like this, I guarantee that. >> But I like I said, I want to identify myself so that he can get into my daughter. >> Okay. >> Do you have a driver's license inside the vehicle? >> No. >> No. >> Okay. Give it give me a minute. I'll get some paper. Write your stuff down. >> All right, ma'am. So, um we ran the tag. The the vehicle is coming back with a seized tag order. Okay. So, I'm taking it. I'm taking the tag. There's a seized tag order. >> What is that? >> It's basically when it's telling law enforcement, pull you over and take the tag. >> Why? >> If the driver is the owner. So, you're the driver. So, we have a seiz tag order. You're taking the tag. The vehicle is being told. Okay. Do you want me to give your are those your purses inside the car? >> Right. But why is it as what is that for? >> Listen to me. >> Do you want me to give your purse the house keys or whatever? >> Yes, I do. >> To Okay. To who? >> It doesn't matter. Either one of them. >> Anybody over here? >> Oh, whichever one of the key >> that came up here. >> Okay. What's their names? >> Nicia. Night Lisia. Okay. Um, do you want me to give them all the keys other than the car key? >> Why are you taking >> Because it's it's a seize tag order. >> What is that? You're not explaining to me what it is. Like >> seize tag order is a order from the government from the state that we are supposed to seize your tag and tell the vehicle. So therefore you your your license is also suspended. It's been suspended many times in the past. Okay. So, like when that happens, some way somehow the state comes out with that order and they tell law enforcement to seize the tag. Therefore, it's kind of like so they can have you stop driving so that you can go to them and rectify whatever the issue is. Okay, >> that is crazy. Okay. So, the purse and stuff, you want me to let them get whatever they want to get out of the car or just the purses? >> Yeah, just tell them to take everything out of the car and >> Yeah. >> Um, also your your husband, he's on his or your her father is on his way. Okay. Yes, she does. >> Did that Did she identify herself? >> I give her name. I wanted >> So, you're not giving your name and information? The >> point because DCF's going to figure out what happened. >> That's fine. >> Are you sure that's fine? You want her to go with DCF? >> No, I'm talking about >> You ask about her name. >> Yes. >> Funny. Why is it so funny? Why is this funny? Your mom's going to jail right now. Why is this funny? >> Did you get her? >> None of this is comedy. All right. So, uh, as of right now, your mom, she's she's under arrest for felon to identify, so obstructing our traffic stop. All right. Also, uh, driving while license suspended. So, felony driving while license suspended. Okay. Let's also see his tag order. That's why we took the tag um because her license is not suspended. I mean, >> the father arrives to take custody of the child. Officers explain that the situation could have resulted in a citation only but escalated due to refusal to comply. >> It it is suspended. It's not valid. Okay. So, as of right now, that's what she's going to to jail for. >> And that forces us to tow the vehicle cuz now there's no tag on it. >> A judge said that we have to take the gun. >> And then unfortunately, due to this happening in in the presence of a minor uh and arrest, we have to forward this to DCF. Okay. So DCF will be notified. And yeah, did did any of my partners get the address for for her? >> Okay, no problem. And >> yeah, me me too. Me too. And um I mean, hey, this could have just been a citation and they could have been on their way um and they could have been released from here and we would have just sold the car due to the seas tag order. However, the mom chose to >> is concerned about the child right now. Doesn't make sense to her. >> We are concerned about the child, too. That's why we have to do this. We have to follow the procedure. >> Well, we're going to take her down to a police station. >> Well, no, we don't want to, man. That's why we're still here on scene. That's why we have her standing with her sisters waiting for dad to come. At the end of the day, we're just trying to do our job >> and we're trying to do it the right way. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I'm going to definitely take a look at >> All right. You want to you want to get a pen and take my name down? >> The mom was arrested for failure to identify/obstruction during a traffic stop driving with a suspended license and issues related to a stateisssued seize tag order. The case was forwarded to Florida's Department of Children and Families for standard review. Final case outcomes would be determined by the court process in Palm Beach County. Remember, during a lawful traffic stop, drivers are generally required to provide identification and comply with basic safety instructions. Escalating routine encounters, especially in front of children, can lead to additional legal consequences. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. She turned a simple stop into an arrest. Her daughter handled herself more calmly than she did. This is why knowing the law correctly matters. One adult describes confronting the driver and observing aggressive acceleration. >> Stopped here for a second and then we just went home and that was it. They were already like I was in the truck right here. I was in the truck right here and she was like sc the lady was screaming at me. She's like did y'all just come out the dirt road? And I was like no we didn't like I don't know like what you're talking about. And she's like well somebody did. And she's like screaming at me. And so I called him and I was like hey there's a lady out here yelling at me. And then he's like okay well we're just going to go home. And that's what we did. That's literally what happened. She was just screaming. She literally started screaming at me when I was just walk. >> But no, that lady literally I don't know what was going on, but she like just started yelling immediately and then we went home and then he came back. >> No, I don't have any ID or nothing on me. >> But she was just screaming at us and then when I I get another call I get another call. Somebody said somebody was like I think he's getting arrested. I'm like for what? Because like we literally weren't even doing anything. And then she's over here screaming in my face again. And I don't even know this lady. Like I don't even know what the [ __ ] is going on. >> Okay. >> There you go. I'm going to get more for whoever else was here that witnessed it. >> Well, the lady at the store, but she left for her shift and went home. >> Okay. I said, "Because if he gets any closer, where he's aggressively, I'm going to run him over. So, I need a witness." >> Deputies inform Dylan that he is being investigated for attempting to drive toward individuals. He denies entering the roadway where the girls were walking and challenges officers to produce video evidence. >> So, we already let you know about them banging. No, I done told you, bro. You turn the heat on, not the AC. Bro, look how hot. No, look how hot it is, bro. >> Get out. >> I'm getting out, bro. You don't got to scratch me around, bro. Please, bro. >> I'll cooperate, bro. >> So, you know, it is on full. >> It's on full. >> Stop running your I hit my elbow. >> Don't touch the car. >> Yes, sir. >> Jason, I got a pull. >> Okay. Why you me out though? >> Because you're touching your car. >> I'm touching your car. >> Yeah, you're not going to >> your car. I'm not going to break the window. I tip my elbow on your door. >> We told you and we warned you already. >> What am I going to jail for? >> Oh, we're trying to investigate, but right now it looks like I assault for trying to hit those people over there. >> What people? >> The people over there. >> Okay, show me video. >> I don't need video. >> You do need video cuz I never went on that road. That's all I did, bro. Get in. >> Y'all must not like white people, bro. >> Why y'all throwing me like that, bro? >> Is he going to jail? >> Yeah. >> Witnesses provide accounts that include a confrontation between Dylan and a minor male involving a knife, though deputies clarify that the current charge relates specifically to the alleged vehicle incident involving a young girl. >> Can I mean, we were just sitting right there and the lady screamed at me. I don't know what did cuz Beth Beth the neighborhood >> I don't know what he told you but we were literally just sitting right there and about to go home or something. >> Literally about to go home and the lady started screaming at me and I called and I was like hey I don't know what this lady is screaming about but she's screaming at me >> and that was it. And then I was at the house I got dropped off the house. You don't know what happened cuz you weren't paying attention. >> I told you the lady was screaming in my face. I told you that. >> Okay. Well somebody came. It's like last time I told you. >> Okay. And I told you the lady was screaming in my face. I don't know what happened just now. >> Um, >> can I get y'all's names, though? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And who's the one that took my kid to jail? >> Uh, Deputy Fluitt. >> Fluid. >> Fluid. F L UI TT. I'll write it down. >> F L UI T. So, where's my truck going to go? Man, I don't have no money. From what I understand, the kid was disrespectful at the house and he was telling him to leave and Dylan walked into the car and the kid pulled a knife on him and Dylan grabbed the knife. I guess he grabbed the blade >> so the boy so the boy couldn't stab him >> and then it escalated from there. I guess the boy hit Dylan then Dylan hit him back or whatever from the story. I I >> say I mean obviously they weren't talking to us so she didn't want to say anything. Neither one of them wanted to say anything. Okay. Well, if I would have been there, >> deputies explained to the involved parties that while one adult's complaint did not meet the charging elements, the allegation involving the young girl supports a charge. Officers document statements and prepare arrest paperwork. >> I damn sure I would have told it. [laughter] >> Hello. >> How's it going, bud? >> Now, I'm playing catchup here. What? What? What happened? What What's all this commotion? So, Alex, go ahead. So, I was sitting at home. >> You mind if I >> here when she got home? So, she knows that she'd come to my house or to the neighbor's house for help. >> Is that the one I'm walking with right now? >> Yeah. >> This is her neighbor and she was walking up to her cuz we had just left to take somebody home and I didn't realize she was coming in that quick and I was trying to get back and she called me and said, "Somebody, >> you need to get home now. you need to get home. So I come and of course I got the schools on so I had to go to slow. Um so I get here and Britney's like I've got the tag number. I'm behind you. We're over on Rancho. And I'm like okay I'm coming right there. And she goes I got to back off. He's trying to kill me. You you I think you're going to I was scared for my life. What happened was she came in crying upset because he almost here. I didn't see that happen. I came out and I see the marks and I was like not getting you could see where he tried to hit her in the dirt. >> Okay. took these marks right here coming out when he took off. >> That's from when he took off. >> So I said, "Well, I need to go get my son from school. Let's see if they made it home cuz I already told him what happened." I said, "Let's go. We'll get down here." They weren't here. I had to get my son from walker down here at Treadway. If I'm not there, he's going to be wondering where I'm at. So of course, I said ride with me. So we go to pull out and we're about to pass the store and she's like, "Oh my god, Britney, that's the truck." I'm like, "Are you sure, honey?" She's like, "Yes." I'm like, "Okay." So I did. I pulled in. I got behind it. I pulled in like this. So, I wasn't really behind it. I was next to it, but I'm behind it if that makes any sense. He's face this way. I'm face this way. Behind it. I'm getting his tag number. And there's a girl in the car, which is probably still up there. She was denying that she was in it. But anyway, um I told her, I confronted them about it. I said, "I can't believe that you guys just did that and almost hit this girl and y'all are driving erratically." I said, "I don't know if he's drunk, he's high, or what. This is not cool." Next thing you know, he comes out with his alcohol beverage in his brown bag throwing up gang signs talking about, "Why you buying my truck? why are you getting my license plate number? And I explained to him what he did. He was laughing about it. He said, "Oh, yeah. You think this, you think that?" And he was just running on a bunch of stuff. Um, talking about, "Oh, well, watch this. Watch this." I said, "Buddy, I'm not worried about what you're doing. I already got your tag number. Handle it." So, I went to go pull around like this to go leave to go to the school. And you can see where he jumped the curves down there and tried to hit me >> with again. >> We um >> she was never even there. The kids got off the bus. >> Correct. So >> she said that the kids got off the bus and Dylan went around the kids cuz the kids were walking on their phone and walking in the middle of the road. >> Yeah. >> So my sergeant called him out on it. >> Um but because she did not sign it, >> it's none and boy. >> So we can go get him. >> Well, no, the the the child is different. So the charge, he's only being charged with one count, which was because of the little girl, not with this because my my sergeant told her that she was full of it and whatever. But the little girl, yes, at this time he is being charged with that. So her car was her car was right there. His truck was right here. I mean, it was over there, but it was something like this. You see him in the video turn the car and gases it. That's not technically speaking. She was under impression because her vehicle were right there. That was a >> technically speaking, I'm just just hear me out before we start getting the answer. >> She wasn't lying. It just does not meet the qual or it doesn't meet the elements because no one was out never outside the vehicle again. They were like this. You see them turn the vehicle or you see them turn the wheels, stomps on the gas and hauls. And that's what she thought was him aggressively coming at her. So we completely um >> Well, you can watch me pull out here. I'm going to stomp the gas, too, just because that truck doesn't even go half the damn time. >> I I I [laughter] Well, that's why I had her write a statement on his behalf cuz he refused. >> Well, thank you. >> All right, y'all. Y'all be safe. >> But now she keeps coming up here harassing me. Can I call somebody and get something done on her ass? >> Okay. Yeah. like >> I mean it's >> it's kind of hard because it's a public it's a public lot >> and unless she acts >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Now your house is different story but this is open to the public. There's absolutely >> I was worried about her. I was just trying >> absolutely not much that we can >> we can do. People have the freedom of speak time and there ain't nothing that can be done. >> People can say what they want to say unfortunately but >> it's all good. >> Yes ma'am. I hope you have a better one. All right. Dylan is arrested and transported to the Lake County Jail. Authorities later confirm charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon vehicle, driving with a suspended license, and threatening a law enforcement officer. He is released after posting an $8,000 bond. Remember, allegations involving vehicles near school bus stops are treated with urgency due to potential risk to minors. Returning to a scene after a confrontation can increase scrutiny and lead to additional legal consequences. This is the reaction of netizens to this situation. So, he fell asleep after that and that's when I did what I had to had to do, but I have it on video. Okay. >> What he was saying. Authorities notify child protective services. Her bond was set at $5,000 at the Escambia County Jail. The child is later released into the care of another responsible adult. The 56-year-old father and 45year-old mother are arrested and transported to the Penllis County Jail. Authorities warn that a possible no contact order may be imposed. Both parents were charged with child neglect, resulting in great bodily harm. The father's bond was set at $50,000 and the mothers at $40,000. Remember, physical restraint methods that restrict a child's movement can cross into criminal conduct, even if intended as discipline. When injuries occur, failing to seek medical care may significantly increase legal consequences. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. Taping an 8-year-old is never okay. They should have asked professionals for help instead of doing this. This is why mandated reporters exist. You think the officers were out of options here?
