All right. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Do you understand each of these rights if I have explained them to you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to me about what happened yesterday between you, Martha, and Summer? >> I mean, I can. There's nothing. I told you. >> Okay. Okay. So, what happened? MJ just said that she would show me where all my stuff is when they rob my house and that >> Did she text you? And asked if she took me over there when I dropped the charges on them. And I told them, you know, like, I'm going to go to the court date and stuff, but like, you know, I really just want my kids stuff back. >> Mhm. So, what happened when Summer got home? When Summer got homeless, she got >> She admits tensions rose, but denies any serious violence. However, she confirms she was holding her child during the confrontation. >> She just like she parked in the middle of the road and she was like frantic already. Like I don't know. Like someone used to someone was my best friend. Like >> I don't know what the hell happened to her, man. >> I had no idea. She just goes, "She is like bipolar." >> Mhm. >> So I tried to tell her like I pulled up and I was like, "Summer, you know, like why did you do that? Like why did you why did you run in my house?" She's like, "I crazy like calling me out of my name, this, this, and that." She tells me that when my first son passed away, you know, so she'll sit there and say, you know, like that I killed my first son like that cuz it was a stillborn. like she tries to hit me where it hurts. >> Okay. >> And then uh like she ran up on me like she we were going to like she wanted to fight me and then she started like, "Oh, I'm going to get you [ __ ] I'm going to get you back." Like crazy as >> Okay. >> I don't know. >> Do you have with you at the time? >> I was with me. Yeah. >> Were you holding me in your arms? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Did you have a black backpack with you or a black bag or black purse? >> No. Um, hell no. >> What firearm did you have? >> Officers confront her with witness statements and surveillance claims that she pulled out a gun or something resembling one. >> She insists it may have been a toy Orbeez gel gun and denies threatening anyone >> with you. >> I don't have a firearm. I don't have a firearm. We have Orbee guns. >> You have Orbee guns? >> Two of them. >> Okay. Is that what you had in your hand? >> I I mean, my son might have them, but I don't think so. What's up? >> What do the Orbee guns look like? >> It's just like we have It's like a little mini AK and then a black pistol, a little like I think it has blue letters on it. >> Does it have a scope on it or anything like that? The the pistol one. Can you tell me what it looks like? >> I don't know. Is that his ass, dude? >> I don't have a gun. Is that what they're saying? Like for real? >> There's multiple people that said that you pulled a gun out of your bag. >> There's also camera surveillance. So, I would like for you to be truthful with me. What did you pull out of your bag? >> I didn't even have my bag. >> Okay. You had >> You did? >> Well, I don't remember that at all. >> I'm being truthful. >> Okay. So, what did you have in your hands that you were waving around? >> Nothing. We weren't even fighting like that. I had my paperwork. I had the the paperwork from the poor date. Like my phone. I had my phone. My son. >> Okay. Well, there's multiple people in the saying that you had a gun or what looked like a gun in your hands. Not. I did not. Man, they're setting me up. I'm telling you like >> Well, that's that's why I'm asking you because there is camera surveillance of you guys talking and everything. So, that's why I'm trying for you to be truthful with me. >> I don't I don't I swear I don't, dude. I don't play like that. I don't do that. That used to be my best friend. >> Okay. Did you have an Orbeez gun with you in the car? >> I of course my son has it. >> Okay. Did your son have an Orbeez gun in his hand? She becomes emotional, repeatedly denying having a real gun and insisting she's being framed. Officers mention a suspected illegal substance found on her. >> I did not have a gun. Like, come on. I'm for real. >> Well, that's why I'm asking. >> Sabotaging me. Like, for real. >> Did your son have what have it in his hand? That's why I'm asking. Why are these people saying >> Okay. I do not have noing gun, man. This is [ __ ] y'all. So, what am I going to jail for? >> Okay. So, >> what are you going to go to jail for? Like, >> what did I do wrong? >> They are saying that you arrived there and you started talking with Martha. Okay. And after talking with Martha, Summer got home. >> Yeah, it's true. >> Okay. And at that point, you pulled a gun or what looked like a gun out of your bag and you threatened Summer with it. Okay. Which was also in the presence of her 16-year-old son. >> He's my best friend. >> Was her 16-year-old son there? >> Yes. I even asked him if >> And your son was there. Okay. >> Yeah. I asked if he would stop and like listen. >> So, there's going to be two counts of child neglect, one count of aggravated assault. >> One count of felon in possession of a firearm. >> I don't >> because you are convicted felon and they're saying that you had a gun. >> Dude, I don't. And also you have narcotics in your pocket. So if that tests positive for meetamine then that will also be another charge. I'm very serious right now. >> I don't have a gun ma'am. >> I don't have a gun. Like for real. >> Who is the owner of that car? >> My child's father. >> Okay. Who is that? You said that was your boyfriend. What's his name? >> Josh. >> Josh. >> This is This is [ __ ] Can I please have a cigarette? Can I please like >> This is [ __ ] >> All right, I have the AC all the way up. Okay, >> Miss Finley, can I please have a cigarette? >> No, you can't. >> Damn it, man. Dude, Josh, they told him I had a gun, dude. Call Joe. This is [ __ ] man. Child neglect. Are you kidding me, dude? I love my goddamn kid, man. I can't believe this [ __ ] thising girl, man. Can I please smoke? Damn, dog. I've cooperated in everything. Like, what the [ __ ] man? I don't understand, dog. I never had aing gun. Like, for real, I'm going take this [ __ ] I never had a goddamn gun. Basically, I don't I didn't have no damn gun, man. >> Okay. >> Child endangerment. child neglect. I >> know that's crazy. >> So, um Josh is asking for the $40 that you had in your hand. >> Would you like me to give him that $40? >> Okay. Um he's also asking for a cash >> before transport officers give her a final chance to disclose any hidden items. She continues to deny having anything else. >> Password or code. Is that something >> Yeah. >> you want to give to him? >> Yeah. My family can't freeze, but I get a cigarette just a couple tart. >> Nope. Just sit back. I'm going to buckle you in. Okay. >> Can I have socks? >> Socks? You'll You'll get it when we're where we're going. Okay. >> I don't need socks. >> Is it too cold in here for you? >> Yeah, a little bit. >> Okay, I'll turn it down. >> Can you ask him um on my phone? She's very prestigious and she set me up for this. That's crazy to me. MJ even said that somebody took my stuff, too. That's why I don't understand why she ain't been arrested. Well, why? Why? Nobody want that much. I didn't even try to fight her. >> Hey, Tiffany. >> Yeah. >> All right. Can you undo your seat belt? Are you able to do that? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Are you able to step out? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, I'm going to give you one more chance. Okay. If there is anything else on you, please let me. >> The woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, and two counts of child neglect. Remember, situations escalate quickly when conflict, emotions, and substances mix. Even a toy weapon can be treated as real if witnesses perceive it as a threat. Having a child present during a volatile confrontation can lead to serious additional charges. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. Even if it was a toy, waving it around like that is going to get you arrested. The fact the child was there makes this so much worse. She might feel set up, but the situation clearly spiraled out of control. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when man laughs after ashing neighbor for cutting a tree. >> Was it you? >> Is he breathing him like five times? And I'm like, you don't even know your neighbor's name. And he your husband >> for cutting down a dead tree. >> Very odd. disappointed of owner. >> On May 29th, 2024 officers responded to a residence after a man was during a dispute between neighbors. Our call >> has what's going on? >> Somebody's been shot. Okay. >> Was it you? >> Let me see your hands. Your hands. Where's the man? Clear today. >> Witnesses confirm that Sage O remained nearby after the incident. Emergency responders attempt to treat the victim. >> The squad's inst. >> The squad's in. Is this your husband? Just hang over there for one second. Okay. I'm going to check him real quick. All right, just hang out right there. Okay, >> sit up. Jesus Christ, dude. You're not taking a gun. >> I understand that, but right now they got they got to work with him. Okay, we're going >> breathing. Just come sit with me for a second. Okay. >> I I just had pulmonary board. >> I kept breathing. >> I know. We're going to come here and sit down. Okay. >> Did you guys catch that? Witnesses report hearing several gunshots. >> They're going to go to the squad. >> Got witnesses want to try to find >> Malone has one of the witnesses at all. Okay. >> Okay. >> Can someone break down as to what happened? Do we have any ideas to what transpired? What happened? Don't all I'm all as I remember from dispatch was a female I called I'm thinking this is his dad but >> okay >> I'm thinking that's the relationship from the father I can't confirm that >> okay >> ma'am my name is John Hoover I'm with the sheriff's office I have a couple questions for you first off what's your name >> Christina >> Christina all right Christina that came out of your no put it back up there >> according to her the suspect had prior aggressive behavior including threatening with a bow and arrow During the argument, the husband told him to put the wee pawn away and began walking off. >> Did you Are you the one that called 911? Okay. >> Pretty sure my suspect's dad is over there. He owns the property. >> Okay. So spin it out there so I'm not the only one. >> This gentleman lives here. His wife is on the porch. >> Okay. >> The female homeowner from here is where? So, this tree right here, >> this tree here is in their yard. He was going out to cut it down cuz you can see it's >> and the guy came out and I guess in the past he's tried to hit her with a bow and arrow. >> Witnesses described the as sudden and unprovoked. I think the police will notify her if you don't want to." >> Yeah, they would. >> And it may be better that way. and she said, "Oh, that would be wonderful if they did that." >> Do you know the neighbor at all? >> I mean, they've had problems before and they've called the cops on him before. >> Yeah. >> Not too long ago. And what was the next thing you remember? You guys were driving up here. >> Yeah, we were driving and I'm looking at I was looking at my phone. Um and um my friend back had the GPS so that my sister that was driving didn't have to keep looking down at her phone. We were driving and then next thing you know it was just a loud boom. But mind you, I thought we hit somebody like as in the car and I looked outside and I didn't see no car. And then when I got out the car, I seen shoes and that's when I immediately was like, "Oh my god." And I looked in front of the car in bed, I seen him laying on the floor. >> What' you do after that? >> I kind of started panicking. I ain't going to lie, cuz I've never been in nothing like this. I started panicking. My sister never been nothing like this. So we both were panicking and then I walked up to him to make sure like I kept saying hello. Hello. Um he kept like doing like five every 2 minutes though. It was weird. And I kind of see his teeth on the floor. Officers suspect possible impairment and conduct field sobriety exercises. The driver shows signs that prompt further investigation. You said you're not taking any medication other than the video and you haven't consuming alcohol. However, I do some indicators when I look at your eyes and make sure you okay. >> Okay. >> So, what I want you to do is take a couple steps up and stand right here while I'm shining my light, please. >> No problem. He's going to take >> And also, I just want to let you know I do have a slight imbalance cuz I did have an early injury back. >> What happened to you? >> Um, I fell off a skateboard and my ankle. >> Um, that was about when I was like 9 years ago, but I I really don't I don't walk on my ankle a lot. I work on computer. So, >> okay. Stand right here for me. >> Okay. So, this line we'll be using to perform the exercise. >> Okay. Okay. >> I'm going to demonstrate to you what you need to do and then after I'm finished doing so, that's when I'll have you perform the exercise. Okay. >> Mhm. >> Do you understand those instructions? >> Yes. >> You have any questions before you begin? >> No. I'm not going to lie. I'm a little bit nervous. >> I I understand you're nervous. So, here's what I want you to do. I want you to take your time and compose yourself before you ready to begin. But what I'd like to know while you're doing that is whether or not you understand the instructions or if you have any questions. >> No, I'm just concerned because I really am nervous. Take your time, compose yourself, and then when you're ready to begin, get back in the starting position, and you can start walking. Okay? So, hang on. Begin when you're ready. >> Turn this way. >> Do it just the way I showed you. 10 11 12 Okay, what I'm like to have you do next is take a few steps down the line again and stand right in this spot where I'm shining my just walk no normally and then turn and face that car please stand with both feet together like this heel to heel toe to toe don't move okay you'll stand on one leg while lifting the other leg off the ground by approximately 6 in and count out loud in the following fashion. 1 1,00 2 100. Do you understand the instructions? >> I do understand. >> Are you ready to begin? >> 1,000 2 1,000 3 100 4 100 3 100 4 100 2 5 1 >> You can stop. You can put your foot down. The driver is detained and placed in a patrol car while officers continue questioning witnesses and reconstructing the scene. >> Okay, you can relax over here for a second for me. >> Excuse me, ma'am. We're going to have to have a detective come out and talk to you. I'm going to ask you to just have a seat in my car while we wait. Okay. >> Yes, you're being detained. Like I said, detective to come out and talk to you. >> Walk me through what happened again. >> Okay. I was sitting right here on this bus bench. >> Okay. >> And I just heard a bam. >> Where was he coming from? >> He was coming from right here across the street and then she just hit him like that. That's all I seen. >> The first time I asked you, you said that he was in front of you on that side of the road. >> No, no, no. He was coming across. He was crossing the street as the car was coming this way and it just spam. >> Okay. >> What lane was he in? Okay. So, there's the yellow lines. I know she was driving this way and he was coming across the street. >> Okay. So, there's the yellow lines. Was he on the lane closest to the yellow lines or on the farthest lane? >> She was going that way in between the yellow lines and he was crossing the street and they collided like she hit him. >> I get it. I get it. Was her car in this lane when he hit her? >> Her car was in this lane. >> Was in this lane. Okay. When you were sitting on that bus stop, you were watching him walk across the street when he got hit. Okay, thank you so much. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can or will be used against you in a court of law. You may use any of these right. >> The driver states she was checking her GPS and speed while driving and did not see the pedestrian until immediately before impact. Officers confirmed the fatality and continue the investigation. at any time before during questioning and you may stop the interview at any time. Okay. Do you understand all these rights I read you? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, I just have a few questions to ask you about the question. Were you the driver of the vehicle? >> Yes. >> Okay. What do you see exactly as you're driving? What do you see happen? >> So, as we're driving, um, I'm looking at my GPS. I see that the like screen one speed limit. I'm looking at my speed limit and my speed limit on my GPS at the same time as I'm driving past light. >> Okay. Okay, I crossed over from I'm driving like this way. So, I was in the left lane. >> Okay. >> I got over to the right. As I'm passing here, I'm getting past like this. I pass right here. Like past the um the bus stop kind of >> Uhhuh. >> And as I'm passing the bus stop, I see shirts and it hit my arm. >> Mhm. Okay. Now, you saying you're looking at the GPS and then you're looking at your speedometer. Is that what I got from it? >> Yes. How fast was your speedometer saying? >> Um, it was about if I was if I was correct, I would say like about 20 >> 28 to 30. >> Yes. >> And how fast did on your GPS how fast did it say um uh the speed limit for this area was >> um around I don't believe it was 35. >> Okay. So the GPS says 35 and then your speed you're saying about 28 to 30. >> Yes. >> So where did you first see the pedestrian now? Was he standing on the roadway or he walked in front of you or like how did that go? >> Honestly, truthfully, I did not see him until he was directly in front of my car. I didn't see if he was running or if he was walking. >> I didn't see I all I seen was he was his finger was facing this way >> and then >> when facing this way like sideways or to your to your car? >> No, like facing this way. >> Okay. >> Like as if he was walking from Gotcha. Could you I know it happened so fast. Could you tell if he had like a a pace to him or if he was just stationary? I know it happened very fast. >> Couldn't tell. Like everything is around me. Like what my honestly, if you turn my headlights on my car, you'll see like my headlights are like very dim. So I literally only can see like directly what's in front of me. So when I see him, the only thing that I seen was his shirt and shorts and that was about it. >> I see. I got you. I got you. Makes sense. What do you do there? As soon as like your the pedestrian gets hit, what do you do? >> I hit my brakes immediately. >> Immediately. >> My brakes are a little bit bumpy. I'm not going to lie. >> They don't work all the all the way or all the way? >> No, they skip. Like if I if I hit it too fast, like they'll skip like >> So, so you the car stops. Do you like get out of the car to check and see like what happened? >> So, as soon as it happened, like I instantly go into shock cuz I I honestly did not know what was going on. I looked down, I just see blood like >> and my sister my little sister hops out the car first and she was just like, "Mommy, check the car." And I I get out and I and that's when I realized everything was heavy. I'm checking on him. I asked him if he could respond. I see that he was breathing good. >> Mhm. >> But uh >> Yeah. So uh did you like do CPR on him or >> I I did grab his arm a little bit to ask. >> Is she his mom? >> That's my mom. >> I'm the mother. >> Shared mom. >> Yeah. Those are my children. >> I got you. I got you, man. What's your name? My name's also Chris. Okay. Attent police officer. So, I'm pretty sure they already kind of told you what was happening. I don't know if you want to close your door or anything. >> I got two babies in here, too. >> Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. So, >> I got you. Yeah, you came a long way from Ruskin. So, right now they're doing an interview right now. They're doing their whole investigation to kind >> the person died. >> Yes. >> That's why we're doing this big investigation and that's why they're kind of figuring out exactly what happened, what she saw and stuff. But she said when she was >> the driver was charged with driving under the influence operating a vehicle without a valid license and vehicular manslaughter. And they just kept arguing and arguing and they were just back and forth and I didn't think anything of it cuz they were and uh they were setting it and it was a Africanamean guy that shot him >> that Okay. Do Do you know if they were both on the same vehicle or >> They were not in vehicles. They were both uh they were both sitting at the pump there on the side. On the side. >> When you say sitting at the pump? >> Yeah. They were sitting here on the BM on the the concrete thing. >> Okay. So, they're sitting there on the curb arguing and next thing you know the the black male shot. >> I wasn't there when he shot him, but they were arguing back and forth and it was a racial thing cuz the guy that was I guess he's the one that was shot. He was saying >> additional witness statements describe the suspect leaving on foot briefly before entering a vehicle and driving away. and get away from me, man. Get away from me. And we're arguing. >> Okay. >> Do you have your ID on you, darling? >> I do. >> And my daughter my daughter knows his address exactly. If you guys need that, I can call her and get that. >> Just text her. But >> don't want to Well, we she's obviously going to find out. But if you can get it, the exact address, that's fine. >> The witness over there said they were arguing and he said, "I'm good." And he said, "No, dog, you ain't good." and popped him. >> Wow. >> She didn't say that. >> Where did Where did back of the head come from? >> He's bleeding from back of the head, I think. >> Some of the reporting said that >> she said that they were both sitting on the curb right there arguing outside of the car. >> Well, there's great video footage of this used to be. Remember >> from the last shooting? Yeah. >> You got bad luck with this gas station and shootings. >> Got witness here. Is there any other witness that saw anything that we know of? >> Spike to somebody. >> There's a uh server here who actually witnessed it. She's inside. >> I don't have her 1043, but the manager sent to his phone until we're ready to talk to her. >> What exactly did he What >> How long were you on the phone with him? >> Um [ __ ] I was on the phone till I was here. Till I just hung out. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Till I made it here. All the way till I made it here. >> Okay. >> And and and that was from way before he called me. He's like, "Mom, um, this guy's arguing with me. I'm not going to do this." I'm pulled over at a petrol gas station. I said, "Where's petrol?" Cuz we're not from here, so I don't know. >> So he's like, "I'm just going to send you my location." So he did. He shared his location. So by the time I made it from Ocala to here, I'm still on the phone with him. They're arguing. All of a sudden, all he said was, "Um, oh, mom." And then that was the end of it. But the phone was still on. So if his phone is not here, if my son's phone is not here, >> it may be over there. But we'll we'll we'll figure that out. Uh there's a detective here coming to speak to you in about 10 minutes. All right. >> Okay, sir. >> Officers coordinate across units, review camera coverage, and confirm multiple sources of evidence, including surveillance footage and witness accounts. >> Try to relax when they get here so you can refresh the story. All right. Yes, sir. >> You want that gun um taking the clip out or leave it as it is for major crimes? >> Leave it as it is for now. >> You know, do you know if the car that they were in was a rental car or anything like that? We We know the car now, but I just I was wondering if it was a rental or something. >> No, no, no. That's owned by him. >> We have like a GPS, you know, something. >> He's still paying it. >> All right. Did you observe the shooting? >> No, I did not. Like I said, I was parked right here. I was trying to send a email. I heard the uh shots. I looked. I saw a male running. I saw a male running this way. Looked like he was just trying to take cover. And then I pulled out and I spin around. Notice the the >> detectives later identify and locate the suspect who is arrested and charged. The investigation continues with collected evidence and statements. >> Suspect running towards me. So I spin down, spin around, noticed the victim laying in between the bumps right there. So and then >> was a suspect on foot or in a vehicle? >> He was on foot over here and then he ran his vehicle was parked somewhere over here because he came I was car facing the street and so he ran from over here as I you know wrapped my head around what was happening. He ran from over here. He's wearing shorts and you can see like he was trying to hold his pants up. blackmail kind of probably about my height or shorter and um got in kind of casually got in a vehicle and then when by the time I spin around I go okay that's what happened and then he takes off he takes off he noticed me he noticed me following him for a while he he stayed normal once he noticed me following he he he uh went through the first intersection I'm not familiar with the area and then I I cleared and went and I followed them all the way up to 301 north >> and then he made a left. There was a camera on the corner 301 north. Okay. And um he went north and right where the construction is he was stuck there. So I call back and go, "Hey, this guy is I called back 911. I >> second." >> Yeah. So we were stuck in there. So I called back and I tried to get you guys this dispatch and it was she's like, "I can't hear you." Obviously she advised me not to follow this, this, and this. But um I lost him. >> He he gunned me. He knew I was following him >> on 301 North. >> So that's where he left. >> All right. All right. >> I appreciate it. Thank you, sir. >> Please give me a call. >> Yes, sir. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Also, subjects. We're going to read in bulletin. >> Hey, that guy right there, that was the guy that called in. >> He's a cop. He was a cop in Cleveland, Ohio. He works for FEMA now. He followed him east 318 to 301 north. And then once the guy realized he was following him, he bolted and he said that he gave not chase, but went after him a little ways. But I don't know what what that lady said to you, but that dude saw everything. >> Put it tell them on the radio so they could stop them. >> What? >> What you just said? Cuz everyone concentrated. >> He called. He called in. >> You got all those 1043? >> Yeah. Yeah. I didn't even know you were over here. I called. >> Can you That camera there, does it look onto these pumps? >> Uh part of it. Yeah. From my direction, you'll see the You might have that same view over there. probably one. But it's all it's all the same system. So the ones that he's in the office >> looking at now. >> Oh, he can see what that camera does. >> He can see all the cameras. We all one side. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. Like I was just telling him I had I was right here when they had this part right here. >> Are we supposed to wait here for the detective or >> Yeah, they're on their way. >> Oh, cuz they just our kids just called the detective was on the way to the house over there. So we don't know if we supposed to go to the house. >> There's probably going to be several detectives. >> Okay. >> One's going to come here, one's going to go 49. >> All right. The witness saw it happen. One of the employees here. Now, one of the employees here. Um, she's waiting inside. She's really shook up, though. The video captures it. It's not good enough to identify him, but you can tell the difference between the two people. So, the car pulls in, comes from this direction, like it's coming from the interstate. Pulls in, pulls in here, they get out, then one of them, this the victim sits down next to his stuff here. One of them drives the vehicle over and parks it over there. They come back, they're talking, they're kind of pacing around. The one of them was pacing around the other the entire time. The victim's sitting there and then unfortunately because of the angle the suspect is behind the pump and then you just see the victim go down and then the guy runs around, hits him like twice in the head with a pistol and then spreads all across the >> well victim saw saw the whole thing. He's the one that went behind the car. He's supposed to be a retired cop from Ohio. >> Okay. I saw the whole thing, got behind the guy, got the tag number, called it out with where he was at. Um, he said when the guy realized he was being followed, he he booked it. >> We got plenty of everything. >> So, yeah, on the car, I mean, for the car. And >> the only thing is this guy's probably going to play and the guy tried to draw on him cuz he was still in the homestead that facing each other. It wasn't like a back. >> Um, >> I [ __ ] up. >> I got a body camera, but I didn't snap you. >> It's fine. >> Yes. >> Yes. >> Um, is there any way they can send the detective to the hospital so I can go and see how my son is doing? >> The suspect was charged with seconddegree murder, aggravated battery assault with a deadly weapon, and use of a firearm during a felony. Remember, situations involving disputes can escalate quickly, making it important to prioritize personal safety and distance. Prompt reporting and detailed witness information can play a key role in assisting investigations. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. The coordination between witnesses and officers really helped piece everything together. It's heartbreaking to hear the mother arrive while everything is still unfolding. The video evidence and witness accounts seem to have been critical in this case. You think this call can't get worse? The body cam captures the exact second officers rush in comment if you felt that spike. The next incident is when Guy nearly kills four people in an accident, then tries playing dumb. damage to the vehicle. >> Oh yeah, that >> dude. I'm sorry about that. >> On May 15th, 2022, officers responded to an accident in which a car traveling at a high rate of speed hit another car and immediately fled the scene. It was said the suspect's car was completely totaled. When the officers located the suspect, he tried to act like he had no idea what happened. >> He hit us on the He's still >> Okay. He ran that light coming this way, smashed right into us. >> Okay. What direction were you guys going? >> Were you the driver? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> I was going >> westbound on on Burns. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. And then where was he coming from? >> He was coming >> that way. the same direction I just came from. Yes, sir. Okay. And he ran a red light and he turned into the next entrance of this complex right here and took off in there. >> Were all three of you in the car? >> No, I live here. I just came. >> He just lived here. I have my buddy and his wife are down there. He got out to try to follow him and see where he went and his wife just went down there to >> Well, hey, call call them back. I'm going to send some of my guys in there. I don't want them getting in any >> No, no. I think he's over here on the other side of the road. >> He might have went into the hospital cuz that he he took the the most of the hit. I just got off the phone with the uh >> and start on the phone with her >> like >> Oh my god. >> Tell your roommate. >> Not your fault. >> Yeah, I know. But still, you know, >> this is [ __ ] >> Here we go. Well, hopefully we uh >> finding it. Was there front end damage to the vehicle? >> Oh, yeah. It's that car up, man. >> And the only reason why I didn't get this in that bad >> still up. You don't It only has 30,000 miles on it. >> All right. >> And they went across the street. You think they're at the hospital? >> I'm I'm not sure. That's what I'm thinking. >> We in the middle of right now. Officers observe fluid trails leading away from the crash scene, suggesting the suspect vehicle's path. >> Additional units prepare to locate the driver >> there. And it's parked right there. You see the trail is going right up. You see the oil or whatever. >> Yeah. So, one of my guys that spotted it driving crazy in this area. So, I'm waiting for somebody to come over here. We're going to go try to talk to him. Who's the uh fourth occupant? Do you know where he's at? >> He's right back here. have him come over so we can at least get you guys' info and then we'll uh we'll go try and contact that guy. >> Is um the registered owner's name is Dylan. Is he aware of this now? >> No, he's not. I haven't even called him yet, man. Okay. >> Officers gather information from occupants of the struck vehicle, confirming multiple people were inside and describing the severity of the impact. >> Well, it's not your fault. I ran a red light, >> but damn, man. >> I got, you know, I got a healthy driving record. This is [ __ ] >> No, it's not your fault. He did it and he took off. So, we'll get it written up, but before we do anything, I got to get there. >> We all We all like hesitated. I was like, >> I seen it and I was like, wow. >> I think we all just so in shock and spun us all the way around and then some of it tried to take off. >> So, all of the damage, including the bumper here, is all from him. >> This is This car has been flawless. This car has only has 30ome,000 miles on it. The only reason why I was driving tonight to keep the battery cuz it sat for a long time recently >> and the starter went on it. >> Okay. So, he's out of town all the time working. So, >> here. Let me start with what we got. >> Yep. >> Some [ __ ] man. >> I'm all right. That [ __ ] snatched my whole goddamn side. >> You want to uh do you want to get checked out or you all right? >> I'm going to be all right, but this mother need to go to jail. That [ __ ] hit us and run a red light like some [ __ ] [ __ ] that we're >> witnesses state the suspect ran the red light at high speed causing the collision and spinning the victim vehicle before leaving the scene. >> We're going to go talk to them once we're done. Um just go ahead and get their information >> and then we'll uh I'll get this put in the computer. >> Well, I I can tell you if it's the same car that they gave me the plate on from earlier, the guy lives in here. >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to go right to his apartment door. >> Yeah, please do it. >> But I got to But again, like I said, I got to finish with you guys first before I can go do that. So, you guys said um you guys said there's like a oil slick or something that'll lead straight to his car. >> Okay. No, they're saying that there's an oil slick that will lead straight to the car. It's all this stuff right here. >> I'll take you. >> Oh, yeah. He was smoking. >> No, no, no. When I go over there, you guys got to stay over here. I can't Yeah, I can't bring you guys. >> The whole front of the car. >> Did any of you happen to see what he looked like, though? The driver. >> He ran cuz I chased him. He ran. >> White guy. You ran a red light. >> A witness follows the suspect briefly and provides a description of the driver and vehicle, including direction of travel and location within the complex. >> He ran a red light and he was flying. >> I look like this. I'm sitting there talking. I said, "Oh shit." Boom. The whole >> door off when he >> So he seen that he crashes and just let him just take off. What the >> h? >> So I followed him. I know right where his car is at. I took all that. There's that Marriott. He trailed and chased us. >> Yeah. >> I I was like I was like I wish I wasn't on this car cuz I really want to stop this guy cuz he drive like an [ __ ] >> That [ __ ] smashed right into us. But >> that Chrysler's a tank. >> That [ __ ] took that [ __ ] I ain't even going to lie because I could have swore when I came back to the car cuz I chased him over to where that [ __ ] ran off to >> and they said >> you can't raise your hand. >> Heard it. It was loud enough to hear even from 80. >> Which way were you? Which direction? >> I was walking west. >> West. So, it had headphones in, but even at 80 or 100 yards, I heard the smack. And when I turned around, they were spinning >> into oncoming traffic. >> Okay. >> And the car was already stopped. >> Officers identified the suspected vehicle parked nearby and note visible damage consistent with the crash. >> Intersection facing this way. >> Okay. >> And they both sat there for a minute. >> Did you see if you ran the red light or anything like that? >> No. Got her at my back. So I kind of like walked over there quick to see if anybody was hurt cuz nobody was moving. >> Did you see him leave? >> He just bolted. >> Okay. >> And then they followed. >> Okay. >> Yep. >> Appreciate it. >> All right. Glad you guys are all right. >> All right, so here's um here's the case number that the report's going to be linked to. We're going to go over there now. We're going to try to talk to him. Obviously, he doesn't answer the door. There's not a whole lot I can do. However, >> neighborhood, >> that's what it says. I got I got this recording real say stuff like that. Anyway, um I'm going to go check that car out and if the damage matches up, then I'm going to go ahead and plug at least the car into the report. So, his insurance will be obligated to cover that part of it. >> But then as far as him, again, I got to talk to himirectly. >> Insurance on that vehicle. Is it insured? >> Probably. >> Let me check. >> Cuz I'm going off the plate he gave me, but it sounds like it's the same car. It's >> a GR86.
