You're going to keep your eyes down at your toe. You're going to count by 10,00. Okay? So you're going to raise one 100 1,002 1,003 1,004 1005 so on and so forth until I tell you to stop. Okay? She received a $375 fine plus court costs, had her license suspended, and was placed on probation. Vehicle 197 Waldo and the other four. party. Okay. What's going on? So, this lady in this car, she ate a stop sign and almost snapped me. I ended up being in front of her. She followed me all the way through here and then she kept saying my license plate to somebody over the phone and thinking that I'm I came to visit my boyfriend. I'm from Bloomfield. Which Which car is it? It's that car right there. No, the one in the in the corner with the lights. The blue the blue one straight right there. The one with the blinker on. Right. She's intoxicated. Okay. The one with the blinker on. All right. Yeah. Just stay here for us. I'll take I'll take the car over. Excuse me. Hey, how's it going today? Hi. How are you? What's going on? A 25-year-old woman was found parked in the road giving conflicting and emotional answers to police after failing a field sobriety test. She was arrested for DUI. There was a girl and she was literally up the block and I was parked just because I was looking for my navigation and literally all of a sudden this might be them right now. But I was I was looking for my navigation and I pulled over and the girl was like she was like who the are you looking for? And I was like excuse me and I was like I'm not looking for anybody. And I I was completely confused as to what was going on. And I just want to get home. Where do you live? Why are you so I live in Py Park. I just want to get home. Why are you so upset right now? I'm upset because I was driving for my boyfriend's house who lives in Anglewood and literally I made a wrong turn and then they end me up over here and there. I don't even excuse my language, but they end me up over here and then I got to make all these different turns and this and that and this and that and I can't take Do you need to go to the hospital now? No, I don't need to go to the hospital. I need some time to myself. Maybe you want to do me a favor and just turn off your car for me. Just put your keys right up on the dash for me. Thank you. Where's your boyfriend live? He lives in Anglewood, New Jersey. I know that, but what's his address in Anglewood? I cannot give you that address. That is not okay. Okay, that's fine. I'm just curious to know why you're heading in this direction because Tales Park is the opposite way. Yes. So, that's why I'm trying to find out where he lives and where, you know, why you were going this way to begin with. So, that's why I'm asking this question. a little disputed argument and I had So were you and your boyfriend or I had Yes, I had that's why I had my blazer on. I had a different certain type of weight and I'm very upset right now. I just want to get home. I don't want to have to deal with that stupid girl that came after me. She was literally saying, "Why the are you here? Who were you just texting on the phone just a second ago? The one I pulled up. Who was that? Just a second ago. Yeah. I was on Facebook. Oh, you I thought I thought you were texting something. I was on Facebook. Okay. All right. Do you have your license, registration, insurance on you? Yes, sir. Yeah. I'm just trying to figure out where he lives cuz you know, as per what you're saying, you're going to park my Sure. You want my store license as well? No, that's okay. Just sit text me. Okay. Real quick. I have no experience with this stuff. Oh, she call Donna again to see if she wants to come here. Is your speech like crazy? I don't know if that's helping if she's talking. Hey, Donna, are you uh are you free? Number one. Number two, are you SFST certified? So, we got this like road rage thing. Um I I'm not getting an odor, but she's like slurring her speech. I just don't know if that's how she talks. Like I don't have any experience with this stuff. So, okay. Yeah. Uh Waldo and Slokum. Okay. So, Donniey's going to come over cuz he's FS SFST certified. He knows more than I do about this stuff. Absolutely. I'm not going to like Oh, yeah. Just It's just cuz Yeah. Anybody can say anything in terms of like, oh, I think she's in costume. Whatever. Yeah, but I think that's just how she talks. That's what I think as well. Um, but I just Why is she so upset? US law allows police to conduct field sobriety tests, FSTs, if they have reasonable suspicion that a driver is impaired. These tests are typically voluntary, but refusal can lead to further investigation, license suspension, or arrest depending on state laws. That's what I'm trying to figure it out as well. I guess from what she's saying her arguing with her boyfriend and then I don't know her story but from what I know is that that quick glance she said this car made a a violation right in terms of didn't she make a violation she didn't stop or she turned when she wasn't supposed to this what did that lady say uh I believe this one cut her off cut her off okay I'll get her story and see what's up but um yeah but That's regardless, this is just going to be like if it's nothing, if she's not intoxicated, it's definitely not. [Music] Ma'am, just cuz I I came late, can you just tell me the story one more time? So, literally So, how did this all start? Just start from the beginning. What's up with that part? Responding to 260 location. It was a person and they were driving behind me and they went around me and they kept stopping short as they wanted me to rear end them and obviously But they they were in front of you. Yes. Okay. They weren't in front of me at first. They were behind me and then they went around me and then they were in front of me and then they kept stopping short just so I can rear end them. Okay. And after that, that's when I called them. Well, 91. You You called? Yeah, I called. Okay. Okay. Um, so my my partner's speaking with her now. We're just trying to get the story. Nobody's in trouble, right? We're just trying to get the story and like see what happened. See, we want to see what uh what happened here today. So, it nobody's in trouble. We're just trying to see like what's going on here. And you're what what's throwing me off right now is you're so upset over what I've been going through a lot. I'm not going to lie. I've been going through a lot. Like, I'm trying to keep my composure, especially you being a police officer. I'm trying to keep my composure because that is not the right way to respect you. Crying and I I'm not worried about respect. I'm worried about you. And are you okay? No, it is about respect. I was in the United States Navy. It is about respect. Okay. I don't want to disrespect you. You're not. And I don't want to disrespect your um your other partner your partner, right? Okay. So, we're just going to get the other story cuz we didn't talk to her really. Um so, what did you what did you call for? Like what what were your wishes for this? I actually pulled over because I was nervous. Was she following you? She was following me and she went around me because supposedly it seemed like I was driving too slow when I see right here 25 mph. Okay. So, she passed you? She passed me. She went around me and she went past me. Okay. She was charged with DUI and reckless driving. She pleaded guilty to DUI and the other charges were dismissed. She was fined $690, had her license revoked for 18 months, and was ordered to spend 12 hours at an intoxicated driver resource center. Hello. Hello. What are you doing? Um, I took all my stuff home and you what? to all my stuff and then I was coming back to get my bumper. Step out of the car for me. You see I lost the other one where my car was stolen. Got anything on you sticking the front mirror coming? No. Put your hands up on the top of the door. How much have you had to drink today? Hurricane. It's just been a um day. You need to move. Have a seat. You cancel them. I was going to Hang on a second. I thought it was a dude, but yeah. Well, what's that? Did you get a name? Did you get a name yet? Not yet. Yes. She's uh Dayton police responded to a hit and run. Officer blankly found the suspect unresponsive in her vehicle, detained her, and placed her in his patrol car. Yeah, I kind of figured how the car seats installed upside down. Yes. I'm glad there are no children in it. Yeah. Hm. Looks like this has been stolen before. Yeah, she said it was stolen, but what did she hit? Her back bumper fell off. I'm wondering Oh, her front one's gone, too. Yeah. Is that This looks like the front. It does. I don't see anything hit. Wondering if it just uh Wonder if it just gave up. Uh, and she rol ran over, you know, like I got stuck under the wheel. Yeah, that might be. If I was a body part on a uh Hyundai, I would just give up, too. Yeah. Yeah. You want me to holler for a uh toe? Guys, you want me to call a toe? Sure. I didn't hit it here. Hit what? Oh, what did you hit? Um, okay. Like I was telling her that's my fiance right there. Like I was telling her, um, my car got stolen back in February. That's why it's mentioned the bumper, the rear view. Um, it's got like a cut in the seat. Um, I had a double stroller, but they threw it out of my trunk because I have twins. And um so I didn't ever get to find my back bumper. My front bumper um was kind of like already like tearing off, falling off. Um like chipped away in certain places. So my dad like zip tied it and like got it on like the best he could. You know what I mean? like um they a DUI hit and run is a serious crime, often a felony with penalties like fines, jail time, and license suspension. Refusing a sobriety test can lead to additional penalties. There was already when I bought it like a um screw in the side of it and so he put like two more in there. What did you hit? And then um I was telling him um me and a lady earlier um got in a little bump bump fender bender. Well, since my car was already beat up, um it held up pretty much till I got home. Okay. Um, I stopped right there to check the mail, went home, took my stuff home. Um, I had a bunch of errands to do. Um, my but both my kids are sick. Okay. So, I have I have a lot going going on. I haven't been sleeping good lately. Um, took all my stuff home. I went back down there to get it and I fell asleep. I told my boyfriend last night, I said, "I am so exhausted." Have you consumed any drugs or alcohol today? Exhausted. Like one baby's having brain surgery. Christine, have you consumed any drugs or alcohol today? No. No. No. Nothing that's not prescribed to me. No. What do you mean nothing that's not prescribed to you? Nothing that's not prescribed to you. What have you taken today that is prescribed to you? I am on an anti-depressant. And that is it. And anxiety med and um a soul softener. And that is it. Huh? Uh that's my that's fiance. Okay. Uh can you tell me what's going on? Well, the car's all wrecked up and uh and she was like passed out behind the wheel. She she did not get any sleep last night. She was uh up uh cleaning because um I we're having a home inspection of our children. Okay. And uh she's just been she's got really bad nerves. Okay. And u she just it's All right. Well, as soon as we figure out what's going on with her, then we'll um make a determination here. Yes, sir. Um she's on medication. Oh, what do you know? Which medication? Yes. Um she uh takes um um so I was coming to get the bumper anyway. Um for my dad. Where did you run into this lady at? Um, where where did you get into your crash at? I'm trying to remember, sir, because I told you I'm not that familiar. And my GPS wasn't working, so I was all flipped around, but I think it was over down um down toward that way. Um, there's like a McDonald's on a corner and then a gas station and it's got like a bunch of like the bridges. It's down kind of by It's Well, it's a little ways down the street from Miami Valley Hospital. All right, Christine, have you ever uh I'm going to ask you if you're willing to provide a blood sample. I believe you're impaired. Are you willing to do that? You've been through this before several times. So, no, I haven't. I've never asked what I've never asked to do before. What? I'm asking. Okay. Huh? Yeah, I've never been asked that. Okay. Well, I'm asking because I uh I go to the doctor. Actually, I'm supposed to be there today. Okay. You're now under arrest for OVI 4511 19A1A. Why? Operating a vehicle under influence of alcohol, a drug, or a combination of them. Operating a vehicle after underage alcohol consumption or having physical control of vehicle while under the influence. If you refuse to take any chemical test required by law asking your Ohio driving privileges will be suspended immediately and you'll have to pay a fee to have the privileges reinstated. Sir, I never said no. Okay. Well, I still have to read you this and then you can decide. If you have a prior conviction of OBI, OBUAC, or operating a vehicle while under the influence of listed controlled substance or listed metabolite of a controlled substance under state and municipal law within the preceding 20 years, you are now under arrest for state OVI. And if you refuse to take a chemical test, you will face increased penalties if you are subsequently convicted of the state OVI. If you plead guilty, you've been convicted of two or more OVIs, OBUC's or equivalent offenses in the previous 10 years. Do you have your license somewhere? Um, if I can find it. That [ __ ] got another friend over there, too. All right. Well, we don't give him. Well, you don't speak for everybody. Yeah. Next, you're going to do come over here where this this line is right here. Okay. We're going to face that way. Okay. What I want you to do is place your left foot on that line and then place your right foot directly in front of it. Making sure to touch your heel to your toe just like I am. When I tell you to begin, you're going to take a series of nine heel totoe steps along that line. Turn in a manner that I'm going to describe and demonstrate and take nine heel to toe steps back. Okay? You want to look at me. I'm going to demonstrate it. One 2 3 up until nine. When you reach your ninth step, you move your front foot on the ground. Take a series of small steps around and take nine heels throw steps back. One, two, three. Again, all the way up to nine. Okay. Once you start this test, make sure to look at your feet the entire time. Count each step out loud. Let us hear it. Your arm straight down your side the entire time. You understand the instructions? I'm calling right through this. I'm out here, too. It's cold. I know. But all right. Do you have any questions? Yeah. Hey, hang on a second. Be good.
