You're in his space. >> Yeah, she is. >> Can you stop? >> Battery on a law enforcement officer. You step on my foot. Okay. I'm telling you. >> Yes. It's on camera. We're not debating about this. You ask, I'm telling you. >> November 19th, 2023. It was already a restless day in West Palm Beach, Florida. A protest had the streets buzzing and officers were hustling to keep order. For a while, it seemed like they had everything under control until one car broke the rhythm. Ma'am, you you're going the wrong way. You cannot go this way. Ma'am. Ma'am, you can't go this way. >> No, you're not. You're going to get You're going to make You're going to park over there. You have to back up. >> I'm telling you, you are not. No, you are not. You are going to reverse and go the right way. You're driving the wrong way on the wrong side of the road. >> You're not calling all those people out. >> All the What people? Ma'am, your your nose your nose on with somebody right now. Please turn around and go this way. >> Ma'am, there are children on the roadway. Please make a U-turn and go this way. Please. No, you're in drive. Please turn around. >> Thank you. >> Appreciate you. >> Please reverse and go this way. Please >> go that way. >> Ma'am, we need a car over here. >> Yeah. >> 9285 West. Please give me a restoration. >> This is Sarah, the kind of entitled woman most people would avoid, but unfortunately, a group of unsuspecting officers ended up right in her path. This time she not only drove in the wrong direction but also disrupted multiple vehicles who were in their lane. Given that intentionally obstructing traffic in the state of Florida without lawful authority is a punishable offense, her actions were not just disruptive but also unlawful. But none of it mattered to Sarah right there. >> Ma'am, if you don't move your car when a police car gets here, we're going to remove you from your vehicle and take you to Palm Beach County Jail. She said onto this roadway. >> Can I just >> No, you can't. >> No, you cannot. >> You either go that way. >> You have to back up and go the proper way. >> Step out of the car, please. >> Step out of the car, please. >> Talk about a car. Step out of the car. Get out of the car. Okay. >> Hey, Jim over here. >> Right over here. Just stand right over here. >> The officers did everything they could to prevent escalation, but after repeated warnings and her continued refusal to move. They had no choice but to arrest her. >> You're arresting me for what? >> I'm going to walk back. >> For what? I need to go home. My dog >> needs food. >> I'mma break from here. >> Are you >> You are wasting your time so hardcore. You are wasting your time. You are wasting your time. You're putting me in handcuffs for what? Like I need to go home to myself. >> You're given plenty of opportunities to comply. >> Okay. Hey, well then I'll comply. I need to >> The officer gave you at least 10. The officer >> I came and said for you to go cuz if you didn't, you were going to go to jail when the car got here. When the car got here. >> Well, I want to go. >> She kept giving excuses about a dog, about needing a break, random things that didn't really add up. Sarah probably had no idea that in Florida, refusing lawful commands after multiple warnings is considered as resisting without violence. a misdemeanor carrying up to a year in jail. But somehow she thought she could talk her way out. It's >> too late now. >> No, I'm not going in the car. >> Well, unfortunately, at some point, >> listen to me. What the are you talking about? Look at theing other people over here in >> But there you're looking at You're the one that's >> kidding me right now. Are you >> okay? You know what? I'm just going to >> You're really not helping yourself very well. >> I know. I know you understand that. >> Yes. But I'm I I Please, please just take me home. >> No, I don't. I don't. >> Unfortunately, everything is on camera. Everything you're saying has been >> I don't give a >> You're yelling in my face. I can smell the alcohol. >> Okay, just take me home. Take me home. Please. Please. I can't get in trouble. Please. Please. Please. Notice how she tried to play it cool, trying to shut down any suggestions about her evident drunken state. [music] But disorderly intoxication isn't something they take lightly in Florida. It could carry up to 60 days behind bars. For the suspect at this point, going home was no longer on the table. >> I have nothing on me. Like, please let me go. You >> want me to move it? >> Jesus Christ. >> Why did you Why did you turn this way? He doesn't. Can you get me out of this? >> He's not going to m Just answer the question. Why didn't you turn this way? >> Because I saw these people. I'm from the country. I shouldn't have done it. I shouldn't have done it. Okay. I shouldn't have done it. And I just want to go home right now. I want to get out of these. I'm not going to >> Okay. >> I'm not. I swear. >> No. Nothing. >> Is it Are you right? Is this your car? Yes. >> You're the registered owner? >> Yes. Look at my >> Jesus Christ. Get me out of these right now. Please. Right now. Please. >> All right. >> Watch your back. >> Seriously. Now. Now. Please. >> Now, this is where her story shifts. She admits seeing people, admits she shouldn't have done it, and yet begs for release. In reality, what she was actually doing was stacking up on charges of obstruction during a lawful detention. >> I'm with you, by the way. I'm just getting arrested because I'm with you, just so you know. Have a good night. Okay. So, you're just going to leave them on or what? Like, I'm not I'm not trying to do anything. Like I'm actually like wanting to get the out of here right now. Honestly, >> she's screaming. She's screaming in my face and I can smell it. >> Yeah. >> The suspect clung to her belief that home was still within reach. Convinced she'd done nothing wrong. She waited for someone to see it her way, but the officer wasn't buying it. He calmly requested she take a voluntary DUI test. And that's when her true nature unfolded. >> Things that I just told you. >> No. Okay. Well, because you don't understand, I'm not going to ask you any other questions that will incriminate you. However, what I'm going to do based on my observations of you, the observations of the officer that stopped you. >> Can I do my Can I do my test? >> Well, they're not tests. They're tasks. Okay. But >> it's a test like right here. If I didn't have this >> Okay. Can you listen to me? >> Do I can't do anything with my Okay. I'm sorry. I can't do anything with my >> Nothing to do with your ears. He's speaking to you. Can you listen to him? He's been nothing but respectful. Just listen. Okay, >> I am going to offer you the opportunity to perform the field sobriety tests. Okay, >> which does require the handcuffs to come off. All right, I have to give you the same thing I give everyone that I tell. She wasn't ready to listen. Unfortunately, under Florida law, refusing a DUI test is no small matter. It can bring a one-year license suspension and even jail time if repeated. Yet in her mind, she was just seconds away from convincing someone this was all a misunderstanding. >> You are humiliating me right now in front of my job. Like I >> I'm not doing I'm not doing anything. >> Okay. Now, >> no. This is really bad. I have to ask you. This is really bad. This is really the wrong way. Really, really, really, really bad. >> Okay. I was trying to go home. I was just trying to go home. I want to go home. >> You were trying to go home. I want to go. >> There's a sign right there that says no left turn if you were trying to go home. >> I live in Palm Beach Garden. I'm trying to go home. >> So then why would you be turning left here if you're trying to go home? >> Well, I would point in the right direction, but my >> the right direction is that way to 95. >> Sorry. I'm letting you know >> this goes into the Hilton. >> Okay, honey. I know. I live Alex Point, but I can't. Okay. I need to go home to Palm Beach Gardens. that way. It's right. It's right. So then why did you turn left? >> Because I need to get out of this town and go that way. >> I'm trying home. >> She tried twisting the story like somehow she could outsmart the people sworn to protect it. But this wasn't directions gone wrong and it definitely wasn't a misunderstanding. That much was crystal clear. And the officer did what training demanded. Follow protocol. >> I'm not going to get in trouble. They're not doing anything. I just want to go home. >> All right. Are you willing >> I just want to go home. >> Are you willing to do the field society exercises? >> We just pushed a bunch of people up towards >> No. But you know what? I'm not I'm not going to do it in front of No, I'm not doing people. >> Would you like us to relocate you somewhere that's not in front of people? >> Yes. Okay. Come to my house. Let's go. >> That's not That's not going to happen. We can take you somewhere where you would >> I'm not I'm not going toing sit here and be humiliated in front of you. >> We're going to go that way or I'm not doing any of this. >> Okay. I am offering you to take >> I am humiliated. >> Get me the out of the street. >> Now, let me remind you field sobriety isn't negotiable, especially after repeated refusals and warnings. The officers showed remarkable patience, even offering comfort. But no matter what they tried, nothing was ever enough for her. >> Killing me right now in the middle of >> out of here. >> People are going to see me. >> We just said we were going to >> No, it's not funny. Get off my arm. Stop touching me or I'm going to report violence. Get off me. Get off me. Yeah. Sexual harassment. >> I need a car. Look at me. >> Sexual harassment. >> Look at me. Look at me. Look at me. Look at me. Look at me. >> I didn't do it. I mean, please just stop. >> I know. Get this off of me. Please. >> What was your name? >> Sarah. >> Sarah. Sarah, listen. >> Please get this off of me. I'm >> the only one. Sarah, the only one that's making a scene right now is you. So, listen. >> Get this off me. >> We will quietly relocate you somewhere to where we conversation. >> Why am I sitting in the goddamn middle of the road? >> Because you drove your car the wrong way. >> It wasn't just stubbornness anymore. This was escalation. Every request met resistance. Every warning ignored. But the breaking point came when she abandoned words altogether and descended into pure mayhem. >> I will stomp your foot. >> Okay. She We're not doing that in the field societies. You're right now. You're under arrest for DUI. >> No, I'm not. >> And you're under arrest for battery on a law enforcement officer. >> No, I'm not. >> Yes, you are. You just stomped his foot. All her earlier refusals, excuses, and delays might have been tolerated as mere traffic violations, but the moment she stomped on the officer's foot, the line was crossed. What had begun as a possible DUI stop was no longer a petty roadside dispute. It had escalated into battery on a law enforcement officer, a felony under Florida law. >> That's battery. Hey, >> the car is here. Put her in the back of that car. Put her in the back of that car. Are you You just stepped on my toe. Just try to be really Oh my good. She's out of the car. She's out of the car. >> She's out of the car. She's out of the car. SHE'S OUT OF THE CAR. SHE'S OUT OF THE CAR. I'm working against wait. >> Wait. Do not get out. >> Wait, wait, wait. Stop. Stop. Get out. >> Get out. >> Don't resist. >> Get out. We have TO >> GET OFF OF ME. >> I don't even know >> Put it right here. You guys are so You guys >> over here now. >> We're good. We're good. >> Pull it. >> PULL IT. PULL IT. PULL THIS. Pull this. >> Pull it. There you go. >> All she needed was a little patience, [music] but now she carried the weight of felony consequences. On reaching the station, an officer was prepared to document her account. But that's when things took a whole different turn. >> Reason I'm here is to investigate what happened. >> Okay. Well, he's getting through the bus. >> Okay. >> You >> That's fine. >> You >> what? What happened? >> He has body camera. He has footage. Well, I'm going to review his footage afterwards, but I want to hear it from your from your words what happened. So, I [snorts] have your description so I can hear your side of it and not just take their side. I want to hear your side as well. Okay. So, what happened? So, I'm going to cry. Sorry. Um, I made the wrong decision, too. I was leaving um I was leaving Okobee. I should have just kept going straight. So, I made a wrong decision. Um, there was a protest going on, which Yeah, >> he's just here because I don't have a body camera. >> My camera's on. I'm >> so he can record my discussion with you. That's that's the only reason why he's here. >> If there was truly any confusion, this was her moment to clear it up. However, she had other plans. And then they told me to go somewhere else and I didn't. >> Okay. >> But then it got a little bit violent, which I think your friend can tell you. >> Okay. >> I don't like the way that he was with me physically. >> Okay. What? What? Describe what he did physically. >> Well, I can't get up. >> No, you can stand up. Just don't come up in my face or anything. >> I'm not trying. >> No. No. I'm just saying so we don't have >> Well, I'm just letting you know that like do I look like a present person? Like I'm not I'm not put my arms back here. >> Okay, I'm going to take pictures of >> you, by the way. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, but you need to lose your license. >> Well, just hang tight for a second. I'm going to take pictures of any any areas that you say that you're injured, that you're hurt, so I can doc. >> The scar on her arm wouldn't even exist had she chosen to calm down. Yet, she insisted she wasn't aggressive, conveniently forgetting the shouting, thrashing, and even stomping on an officer's foot. Sadly, playing the victim didn't change the fact that in Florida, battery on a law enforcement officer is classified as a thirdderee felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine. >> And then I was detained. I've never been arrested in my entire life. Not Okay. So then I'm told that, okay, so all right, now you're being uh detained because of, you know, uh you're drunk and this and that. And you know what? No, there was no other way. There was a protest and then I made the bad decision of being like, I'm from Israel. I was born. I'm Moroccan. I stand with them. Okay. So I made the wrong decision of pulling over and I was like okay. So that was aed up decision but also it wased up on your part to ever touch me [clears throat] sir. >> Okay. So when I'm >> I'm going to I'm going to like I'm going to [snorts] >> and then he doesn't even want to say he's sorry. Then I'm going to take his life. She sat there fiddling with that little scab on her arm like it was the whole world. To her, that scratch was proof she'd been wronged. But to everyone else in the room, it was just another excuse, another story to hide behind. >> Why am I in jail right now? I want to go. >> My My understanding right now, cuz I wasn't out on scene. Okay. >> My understanding is that you're being charged with with driving under the influence. >> I pulled my car over. I wasn't even driving. >> Well, you your car had to get there somehow. It didn't magically appear there. You were driving it, correct? To get there. [laughter] >> And then what were you going to say again? >> And then >> battery. Allegedly, [laughter] you you stomped on an officer's foot. [laughter] >> So, I'm trying That's I'm trying to get your side of the scale so I can document. >> That was his foot. >> Okay. And yeah, when he did this, I did stump on it. So, if you don't let me go right now, >> I'm going to bring it down 100%. >> I want to get that. >> I want to get home right now. >> Yeah. >> Was it plain entitlement, an inflated sense of self-importance, or a calculated attempt at deflection? The truth was murky and the room carried a heavy uncertainty because what came next would test everyone's limits. >> Injuries that you have that I can that I can >> mental pictures. >> Yeah. >> Are there any physical injuries? >> There are mental injuries that I have and I would like to speak to a doctor right now. Please right now. >> You're going to have a doctor in this facility. >> Well, I need to speak with a doctor there. >> I need to speak with a doctor right now. >> Okay. We'll make sure that you medical attention. >> No, right now I need to speak to a doctor. >> Is there anything about the incident that you need? >> Yes. >> Are you going to finish my question? Is there anything that you haven't told me that I need to know about the incident that transpired between you and your offic? >> Yes. >> What is that? >> Yeah. He hurt me. Your officer needs to be fired. I I need to speak to um if my mom hears that I was here and I didn't get to speak to a doctor. Y'all are going down. I need to speak to a doctor right now. >> All right, let me step out. No, right now in my pocket. >> I don't care. Then I I need >> I can't make a doctor. >> Okay. Well, I need one right now. >> And have a seat. We'll be back with you there. >> Yeah. No, I need one right now. >> It almost sounded like two conversations happening at once. Hers and theirs. Every time the officer tried to ground the moment in reality, she reached higher into panic, circling back to the same demand. It wasn't just a request anymore. It was a shield, a weapon, maybe even a bargaining chip. When the officer finally returned, it wasn't with a doctor. Instead, it was with the moment she couldn't dodge accountability anymore. >> At this point, right now, I'm requesting you submit to a lawful test of your breath for the purpose of determining its alcohol content. Will you take the test? Yes or no? I don't see why I should go through. You've been >> Is your answer yes or no? >> No. My answer is you've been No, my answer is no. >> Your answer is no. Okay. >> You've been detaining me. >> Let me finish. >> My dad is dead and he always told me. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Okay. >> It's a So, you're saying no to the blood breath test? >> Why would I do a breath test when I've been in here? >> Okay. If you Sarah, if you refuse to take Sarah, sit down. If you refuse to take the test that I have requested of you, your driving privilege will be suspended for a period of 1 year. >> Legally, refusing a breath test isn't just resistance. It's an offense in itself. Now, when victimizing herself didn't work when denial, crying, and shouting only worsened her situation, she pushed further. She resorted to something even more desperate. >> Call my mother right now. >> Do you still refuse to submit to this test? >> Please call my mom. >> I need a yes or a no. >> No, I need you to call my mom. Refusal time is 6:43 on November. Resisting arrest in never. Okay. You look like a newbie. It's okay. It's okay. >> Yep. >> And I know what I've seen and I know what happened. So, >> stepped on your foot. >> All right. Stand up. You asked. You got your answers. >> Let's go. Stand up. >> The suspect hadn't just stomped on the officer's foot in front of multiple officers and a running body camera. She even admitted to it, somehow convinced she could twist it into self-defense. But what was even more delusional were her reactions. now thinking denial alone could erase the memory of what everyone had just seen. The problem, the officer's patience had already worn too thin to entertain the act any longer. >> Hand up. Put your hand on your back for me. >> Thank you. >> No, I I want you to put me >> You get the away from me. >> That's fine. >> You get the >> Yeah. You laughing at this. >> Oh, you want me to put my hands on me? >> No. No. I want you to put your hands on your back on me, please. Thank you. Yeah. >> Never done this before. Get the out of my face. >> I stepped on your toe. >> It's on footage. It's on footage. You asked. I told you. >> Dude, you are ruining my life. And guess what? >> I didn't do anything. >> Oh, no. >> You You made your choices. That's it. >> The decision was sealed. There was no escaping it now. She had admitted enough. But admission didn't quiet the storm inside her. Ow. Okay. No. Relax. No. No. No. This one can't go any tighter. I'm trying. >> No. No. [screaming] Stop. >> Stop. >> I didn't do nothing. I'm done. >> Take it a little bit. Like, do I >> as you put your wrist like you're praying? >> GET THE >> STOP. MA'AM, I'M LOOSEN. WHAT do you want? You want to loose? I'm loosening it for you. What are you going for? >> I need them loosen. >> I'm trying. out of my face. >> No, I'm present with him cuz you're going to start saying we're doing things we're not doing. I'm here with him. He's going to fix it. >> Right. Ma'am, is it loose? >> Can you stop moving so we can fix it? >> This one. >> All right. Give me >> Am I really going to get out of them? No. >> You already did on single pair earlier. So, >> shut the up. >> In just [snorts] a few hours, she had unleashed it all. Screaming, crying, arguing, even lashing out at an officer. They thought the worst was over. But as she reached the squad car, her [music] sudden shift stunned everyone. Nothing like they expected. >> We'll have to make your dreams come true. >> You always want to do it. I'm just trying to make you laugh. >> You're kind of He's way hotter than me, by the way. You have a lot of work to do. >> I'm sorry. I got a lot of time. >> Yeah, you're young and you suck. >> Thank you. That'll help me. put a seat belt on you. Okay, I'm going to reach across you. Okay, >> sit back, please. [laughter] Sit back, please. Okay, >> sit back. >> She sit back. >> Like, what do you want from me? >> Let me just grab >> All right. >> Body cam. >> It's on. >> Body cam. He touched my tip. >> I did not. I did. Y'all saw it. >> You grabbed the seat belt. All right. Don't do that. Don't do that. >> All right. You owe me. >> What began as a night of reckless choices spiraled into a storm of denial, outbursts, and aggression. Yet, when the dust finally settled, there was no escaping accountability. Sarah now faces the full weight of the law. charged with battery on an officer, driving under the influence, failure to obey, and obstruction without violence. A sobering reminder that no amount of excuses or theatrics can undo the consequences of her actions. What are your thoughts about this case? Make sure to let me know in the comments below.
