some of which we'll get the chance to explore today let's find out the interesting places where people have hidden their stolen items as well as some risque strategies other tried to use to escape arrest one thing's for sure once you've been caught on camera sneaking something into your purse or pocket There's No Going Back officers were dispatched in the summer of 2023 to a Walmart store that had recently spotted a shoplifter but failed to detain him thankfully his actions were caught on camera and cops received a basic description of what he looked like once they spotted a person bearing that resemblance on the street they began to question it you weren't over there doing anything in Walmart NOP I just went to moovie there and came back all right give me a favor put your hands behind your back put it down this my item sir listen put it down this my item listen put it down until until I figure out what's going on all right if it's not you it's not you they're saying a pink shirt tan pants and black hat catch put it down just put it down I have no reason to be touched put it down put it down bro just put it down to say the man was resistant and combative is an understatement on the contrary he even gave officers a slight warning about the lawsuit they might face if they continued to ask questions or try to touch him it was probably not the first time the officers were threatened with a lawsuit so they kept going put your hands behind your back Palms together interlace your fingers interlace your fingers standing here interlace your fingers like you're praying listen do it I'm not doing anything but standing here I'm just standing here I understand what you're saying you're not you're not listening put your hands together for no reason I'm just standing here dude put your hands together I don't want to have to take you to the ground that's a lawsuit right there okay that's fine if it's not you it's not you man in the following moments the suspect got so agitated that he knocked down the officer's body cam despite being on the ground the camera still recorded the audio and their interaction could be deduced from there let's just say knocking a cop's camera off their body won't do you any good if you're in danger of getting arrested dud you're not just standing here you're causing more problems than we need I'm not doing listen you're the whole time right here this here there was obviously the need for an additional Pair of Hands on the premises to help detain the man another officer made his way over to the suspect and together with his colleague they managed to place the man in cuffs stop your hands [Applause] dude me your hands just causing more problems here catch I'm not disrespecting nobody bring your hand behind your back stop resisting I play sports and everything stop resisting just wait for the bus there I'm just once the they started digging through the man's Pockets cops stumbl upon a wide variety of objects all the officers could do at this point was keep piling them on the grass nearby the man insisted he'd done nothing and that those objects were his came the movie theater came back okay looks like you came from Walmart with some product in your back pocket those are my my property uh-huh my item okay I'm L to have my own item stop stop digging your pocket I'm my athlete N I was just standing dude everybody just watched everything that went on right here it's just standing here that's it and then you approach me that's it you want listen I'm not I'm just trying to catch the bus we fine I'm just trying to catch buts I want do we Ain fine that's the problem we would have been fine this guy had used every single nook and cranny of his outfit to stash stolen items front pockets back pockets he even stuff something down his pants at some point the officers even got a hold of the tool he'd used to cut loose the security cables that Walmart employees placed on merchandise before displaying we good that's my proper there no big deal swing to then it dude it was no problem we me and this man was talking y'all fine before he came we was talking it's no problem uhhuh seriously you got anything else in there talking no we were just talking all of us was talking it's fine there's a knife that's just little 66 knife there's no problem we was just talking well I know but that's a knife you used to cut all those out oh no no no that's I didn't just pick you for no reason you act like I just picked you out of everybody out here for no reason the suspect was determined to convince officers that the variety of objects he carried around for no reason were his this could have had a simple solution showing officers a receipt no such thing was found in his pockets as you might Imagine by now turn this into a I got money none of that stuff is worth all this I promise you okay if you had money why didn't you pay for it all I did it's all I got to do is all right so you'll have the receipt right there then you have the receipt right over there is that what you have everything I got for everything I bought I returned stuff and everything but I just went to I was telling you I was going to the movie theaters and then found out it was Clos uhhuh I thought you were just standing right here I was when I that's the first thing I did after the man was placed in the police car officers wanted to do a short recap of all the stuff they'd found one of the objects in particular would probably gain the suspect an additional charge apart from theft of course that all these came out of his pockets all these came out of his pockets I didn't open it up but it looks like I can't tell if it's like fake real but I mean not problem but that's probably I say go Ahad that one car about took him out so he was turning behind him and came up and he about turned in right in front of us what do you say I got the guys right here for you brother I can't tell what this is and it looks like fetty maybe than that this is definitely like powder cocaine or powder swing I think the lock you had him in thank God I just got him in that lock cuz I have with that good lock he went moving and then he was he I mean like he would not put his hands behind his back and he wanted to get in his pockets to get to get this well since he was planning on SHO uplifting maybe the suspect should have left the cocaine at home officers went back to the store to confirm the identity of the Man based on the Walmart camera footage it's no surprise by now that they had indeed caught the right guy for his actions that day the suspect was charged with theft and resisting arrest also in 2023 a team of officers from Cape Coral Florida was called to a Walmart store to deal with a potential shoplifter the woman seemed Cooperative at first but her speech didn't make a lot of sense she was talking about food couches and flat screens so the officer had a lot of digging to do okay they're just asking that you leave the the area I can't leave ma'am this is ridiculous I I don't know what's going on I don't know why you're I'm just inure I was getting my food I was getting my I was going to get my my flat screen I was going to get even like this this uh uh couch thing or whatever and he's like oh you got to check out all of your things right now like I can't even be around him what are you waiting for ride yeah I'm waiting for my ride because my phone died and I was going back and forth to my phone and I had my cart in the middle of the the thing seeing there wasn't much information to gain from the woman the officer went back to the Walmart employees for some additional details from what they were able to gather the shoplifter had switched one of the products with something she already had on and left her worn belongings in the store all right so we'll do one bed so I just came back from lunch she don't she don't even know I work here so yeah now now we're going to try the shop with cuz she just told me the shoes she has on I have her ratchet shoes in a in a shopping cart there's we there's no way we sell them they're not from this store I've seen those shoes those Beale you got them today hang on I'll go grab them from the inside store after they confirmed the woman might have stolen at least a pair of shoes they knew it was time to detain her the suspect didn't particularly resist being placed in cuffs but she went all out with all sorts of excuses like the fact that she urgently needed to use the bathroom put the purse down ma'am what do you mean put it in your purse and place it down you're not being placed under arrest I have to PE so bad and I'm bleeding everywhere okay just relax your hands what are you doing let let go stop do not tense up do not tense up what are you doing what are you doing now you're being detained because they think that you stole something no I didn't let go with a vape in your hand real Qui I didn't Ste ma' stop I didn't steal anything this way the officer went back to the Walmart employees after placing the woman in the police vehicle they mentioned they were hoping Walmart wouldn't press charges against the suspect given she'd only had the chance to take a pair of shoes however she did need to confirm this with the employees before she could follow the rest of the procedure you have uh are you wishing to press charges regarding the the Andre you want to press you want to do something I mean she had a bunch more in her purse but I caught her like see so essentially she's took a phone uh charger out of a box plugged it into the wall where my fridges are and that's where she was charging her phone and then I saw she had like socks in her purse and all that I'm like man why you got all this in your parent the second said she's like throwing stuff out of it but those shoes those are are you able to get a video for us I don't know if I don't know if you can get a video of like oh no no no no just her going out with you can get a video with her shoes cuz she's got the shoes on yeah so we can get a video for walking her out that door okay and that video is going to have the shoes that she didn't pay for correct on her feet okay the following footage shows the female cop offering a piece of advice to her colleague from the tone of her voice she seems like the more experienced officer of of the two it's useful information that helps one deal with anxious suspects you want me to go in there um we're stay well uh let's move over there okay by a by the AP office and then we'll see you don't need to tell her okay I'll just keep over her no it's fine she's fine she's fine okay we're not going to close the door again come on your take this foot over why did you open the door thank you what do we do we don't we don't need to open the door she's just going to get more aggravated even though she could have taken way more objects from Walmart if she hadn't been caught in time the suspect also made some indecent proposals to one of the undercover store employees that's one strategy to get away with theft I guess sadly for her it didn't work and it just turned into an embarrassing story for everyone so she se you come she like look I really need to go out right now I like let's she I try to McDonald's I was like look man I said all these cops are free she like no I said look I'm a black man with all these cops I can't do it she I suck your right she said that yeah she didn't know I work to now I was just stand the whole time laughing until you guys came up he didn't tell you that no that's what I was laughing about when you walked up yeah so then then you guys came I just went ah Pol stepped as side and then you guys start talking so I was just trying to entertain until you guys got back she really getting ready haul ass so we get over to the reg St put her phone on the charger I just placed it on top of the wire and then she's like and we're trying to start check scan all the stuff and then she's like oh well I need my phone I have to use the bathroom we already knew what she was trying to pull from the beginning mhm the Walmart employees also recounted the scene she'd tried to make when she'd been called shoplifting she even tried asking for help from other store customers who had no idea what was going on then she starts trying to like throw I'm bleeding out I'm bleeding out she started yelling at us at the outside the door I'm going to bleed out all over the floor and every single person she passes by and is talking to them like this family just got out like weren't even out of their car fully with two small kids she's over there yapping away I I just I couldn't and then he told me his what she said to him that just like was the ice I wasn't here for I lit just came back from lunch like literally just pull back off the Lo officers gave the woman one last shot at confessing what she' done she was adamant that it was the store employees who'd been mean to her and it was never her intention to steal anything even the shoes she had on she wanted to pay for them at some point did you take anything in the store today no so are are those yours did you pay for those no listen the I had my my shoes on my in my cart I had my cart in my my phone my phone phone was charging I was going to buy these and I'm still going to buy these I have my wallet everything and I had everything in that cart I was going to buy okay everything I was going to buy and he was he was being like evil and like mean and just weird and he went and charge my phone and I said well I'm I guess I'm going to go I guess I'm going to go and then he goes y you leave the carts here you leave the carts here and you get out of here well where are your other shoes then oh my this lady clearly doesn't understand the concept of purchasing you need to pay for something before you can wear it otherwise it's theft Walmart doesn't just lend stuff to people for them to try out on the street the officer also decided not to give the suspect her own shoes back as they could have easily turned into a weapon I just need to grab her shoes they want their shoes back I just hey are we giving them their shoes back I was like you know she does still have them on I don't think they're going to want them I know I know yeah oh those are beautiful those are oh those are her those heels that she going be prom you don't be kicked or anything good point I don't want to get stabbed with the suspect was probably charged with theft and taken into police custody that's a lot considering she only managed to take a basic pair of shoes let's say you got all doed up and got ready to go into town what's the first activity that crosses your mind shoplifting at Walmart of course or at least that's what I think happened to this next lady the following footage shows a Lake County police officer trying to gather information from the store employee now M who else should we watching okay so see he yeah Cosmetics she opened up put them in her purse walked out the store mhm yeah okay you ever been arrested before no okay stand up for me yes ma'am theft is il legal in the state of Florida so stand up put your phone down put your phone down one they cancel test so I have to can I take my phone you take your phone need to take all your stuff there the officer had previously chatted with the suspect about her identification info she was pretty Cooperative a bit too calm by some standards but I guess people can react in different ways to being C shoplifting by the looks of it she wasn't going to be too much of a hustle for the cops is there anybody else here with you today is there your vehicle out there yeah is it locked no okay address on your license is that correct yeah do you have any scars Marks tattoos not that you can see okay do you have any tattoos yeah where right here what is it the officer proceeded to place the suspect in cuffs and ask the necessary questions about her belongings what's interesting is that in the background you can hear the Walmart employees continuing their surveillance over the store it seems that there was another shoplifter at large that they also needed to catch anything in here I need to know about guns drugs bomb this electri eles anything illegal is there any the my boyfri yeah where does he live now now he B oh okay I have another J here'll take care of that one yall collect youall recover all your little stuff correct you asking no you recovered everything from her yes okay once the woman was taken into the police car officers had to contact her boyfriend to have him retrieve her vehicle as you can imagine the man wasn't particularly excited about the news he did however ask about the following procedure and what he needed to do in terms of her bond who is this Wy Bailey Lake County Sheriff's Office you said what wuty Bailey with the Lake County Sheriff's Office Lake County how you doing good I'm here with Elizabeth yeah um are you able to come get her vehicle well what's up with her vehicle I think I can it's at the Walmart I'll let you speak to her okay man what the what happened I don't know they call take huh they call you take a at the Walmart yeah come on B so now I got to bail you up and now you're going have charge your sh um don't don't tell nobody how am I going to come pick the car up the officer was nice enough to let the two talk talk for a bit so they could get things organized out of all the things the suspect could have asked for what stands out the most is that she insisted that her boyfri didn't tell anyone about her little shoplifting Escapade can I just come get your keys and I'll pick it up later can you do that yeah cuz I'm going need another person to drive it or he can come get you out of jail and you can come drive it going to stay here car yeah it's legally parked isn't it yeah okay you can come get me out the jail he said you said what he said you can come get me out the jail so just come get you at the jail and we'll pick up the car yeah be a couple hours okay F all right we do that then just leave the hopefully this was the first time the woman was caught doing something illegal if that was the case they'd only have to pay the bond and she'd be able to go home in a couple of hours after all the paperwork had been filed okay um so you might do with the bails stuff over there oh you can get with the bails bot or um if this is her first offense she has no prior convictions for for for uh retail theft it's going to be $500 Bond if she has a prior conviction it'll be $1,000 so it would be $50 cuz 10% right correct okay okay all right um and the Box people is over there near the county there's multiple bonds units I can't suggest one but um they're they're all over the place you can Google it there's a couple of them in the area all right I appreciate you a I'm sorry about this no problem the boyfriend was nice and calm during the phone conversation but he probably did contemplate for a bit what might happen if he didn't post her bond the officer was kind enough to also offer that information over the phone do you know how long she stays there she don't get bailed up till first appearance if she if she if she doesn't bond out she'll appear in front of the judge tomorrow morning and then she'll still she'll still have to have a bail so she either sits in jail until the the judge allows her to leave or she gets bonded out okay all right thank you officer the woman probably got charged with a misdemeanor before leaving for the station the officer asked one more time if the suspect had anything on her that she wasn't supposed to have perhaps another object she might have taken from Walmart and she confirmed she did not back in aumn 2021 officers in Florida responded to a call from Walmart about a group of female shoplifters the store's loss prevention employees tried to get a hold of them but these sneaky ladies managed to escape the following clip shows the moment the cop found the women in the parking lot and began questioning so down you too where's the other one she's in the store have a receipt so the reason that y'all darting out sit against the car out the reason y y'all all were supposed to y'all all are supposed to stay there when they were talking to yall and then you decided try step off calling the cops so I offered to go back through the line to get a receipt and he said he was calling the cops so I just left the cart and left cuz I don't I don't cops for what you know Char 4 C TV that's I asked him if he wanted me to go back through the checkout line and he said no okay then why is she running I was looking for her I thought she went over there she was right behind you stop I wasn't run we weren't trying to can you stop with the voice please am I speaking to you in a calm I'm speaking to you in a calm man never in trouble the women are showing all the signs of someone being caught in the act they're becoming increasingly agitated their voices are high pitched and their explanations don't seem to make a lot of sense the officer was also curious why one of these ladies had a lot of money in small denominations in her purse which car is yours a Honda where hly I don't know where I Y lost it take a see what everybody else please Sanford's your address orando bring you up here I'm sorry what brings you up here um I live with them that's just the address on my you can sit down chill chill chill what about you take your hand off from under your shirt please bugging me he that to detain on a shop lifting at Walmart is this mom yeah does anybody have any weapons or anything Shar on them at all no no okay let me see your bag real fast why is it all small denominations what do you once I'm a dancer sir yeah I'm a dancer that's interesting a shoplifting motherdaughter Duo I mean you can see for yourself from the footage the parking lot doesn't seem all that crowded there's little chance the woman didn't remember where she parked her car so real quick yeah they were all together all three of them so what she was bu whatever standing up the customer host of the car talking to the customer host in the front of the store so once the was done checking out she met up with two and they all three proceeded out the door the one take there was pushing the car inside the store they were all all three participating okay after the officer got his fact straight from the Walmart employees it was time to arrest the trio he began cuffing the women one by one explaining why they were being detained at this point so this is what's up everybody's right now under arrest for shoplifting okay no one's free to leave all right mom you're going to take a seat inside the car for me I don't think so how many times have you got in trouble for shoplifting never all right then you're not going to ja never been okay well it's always the first time right so now what do you go back in there okay well you can't be out here stealing right FR upon right can you keep your shirt down please that's not that's not how that's not how works that's not how works you know it right stealing stealing stealing no but y'all when y'all sitting in my car you're not going to just be out here pre doing whatever you want for a moment there you'd think the third might just get away with it don't worry she soon went into the backseat of the police car too so you stopped why did you stop because I have my receipt I I thought they already but I was at the first register like when you walked in it's the first register okay take that sweater off do you have any do you have anything in here no okay make room for one more in the following clip you'll understand why their charge would soon turn from a misdemeanor to a felony the women insisted they had enough money to pay for their merchandise but you see that's not how getting arrested for theft works one can't just pay the store back and expect the police to vanish we're going to see what happens as far as what all the totals were for everything and figure everything out and then from there we'll determine um what's going onal was 949 94994 okay uh 949 no they I don't think so God damn abely why why isn't it never just like one large item it was clear by now that the three suspects were potentially facing some serious jail time since one of them said she'd been arrested before things could get even more complicated here's where they start begging the officer to let them go they come in it's a Honda over there somewhere in there well our concern is being possibly being left here for a while so um are you serious well due to the due to the amount I can't now now you see what you've done so essentially what happened is you guys sld too much stuff and so now you guys have taking away my ability to be cool about it that's not how it works youall know that right I do not I'm I'm empathetic to that but at the same time y'all stole a bun more so the women even went as far as suggesting bribery to the police officer he abruptly stopped the conversation to make sure the suspects wouldn't add another charge to their list the cop was kind enough to even offer them some nice fatherly wisdom I will hold on hold on if someone if someone did some felony with your family you'd want them to go to jail right I please we never us one chance I you can have all the money in my y'all y'all y'all need y'all need to stop cuz we're going to tread towards robbery and I'm not trying to do please stop stop guys please stop we all have to be adults about this y'all made an adult decision to do something and y'all messed up this shoplifting Trio was trespassed from Walmart and charged with felony Grand Theft so guess what shoplifting should not be on your list of activities to do with your daughter on what would have been such a nice shopping day and there you have it another list of failed attempts at cheating the purchasing system with so many surveillance methods these days people are becoming less likely to get away with shoplifting regardless of how aggressive or flirty they can be begging the cops doesn't work either
