Get on the handcuffs. >> All right, come here. >> Get out of the car. >> Get out of the car. YOU'RE GOING TO GET TAGS. >> Where'd you get these pants from? They still got the tag on them, meaning they still got the price tag on them. >> I didn't know they did. It ain't getting recent. >> All right, you guys put the cars in front of you. I'll cut you in the front. Okay. >> I'll fight my buddies. Thank you. Trespass orders, security staff, and surveillance cameras seem not to be enough to deter highly motivated and manic store thieves from stealing from retail giants. But a tough cop is always ready to arrest them. And when officers step in, shoplifterss get busted at Walmart, Target, and other stores. I'm going to sit with you, but I'm still going to check I'm just still going to check your fingers, which makes it feel like we have a warrant. [crying] >> Do you have seizures? We're just going to hold you here. >> It was April 20th, 2025 when officers were dispatched to a local Walmart in reference to a shoplifting attempt. A woman was reportedly caught stealing items and was placed in the staff room. Upon arrival, the officers talked to her. >> Hello. Hello. >> Hi, my name is Corporal Silford. What are we doing here today? >> Well, I was purchasing some things and um I I got to scan the wrong items. >> A few of the wrong items. >> Okay. My job here is just to >> scaring my finger. >> Do you have a Oh, they're they're one of some of them are retraining, so they're just watching. Um Oh, you was your fingers. Okay. >> No, I I have a I have like my [music] daily and I might I need to like I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. >> Yeah, cuz they're really swollen. >> I know. I know. Look how red my hands are, too. >> Sure enough. Um, do and you don't have any physical ID on you? >> No, I don't. >> That's what my job here. My job here is just to identify you and then that's it. It's good enough. Um, I use a fingerprint scanner. Um, it's it's painless. Uh, do you are you diabetic or anything? Have anything wrong with your fingers? >> Um, I am diabetic here. >> Okay. Do you p which finger do you poke? >> Um, I I don't poke that. >> Oh, good enough. Okay. The detained woman looked quite distressed. The officer explained to her that she would likely be trespassed from Walmart. He then proceeded to identify her. That was when an unexpected reaction was triggered. >> What is it? >> Briana. >> Brianna. How do I spell that? Brianna. >> B R I O N A. >> And what's your date of birth? >> 81391. >> 81391. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> 91. >> Yes, sir. >> And uh what what state is your ID out of? >> Um I actually don't have an ID. >> Do have you ever gotten any ID ever? >> No. >> How do how would you >> I just I don't I don't leave my house much. >> That's probably why we don't have an ID. So So I'll show you how this works and we'll try to your fingers here. It's kind of a cool little technology. Welcome to the future. Can I see your right finger? >> I feel like I'm going to Sure. I feel like I'm going to >> Do you need medical? [laughter] Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> Do you want medical attention? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Could you call fire for an email? >> You want to sit You want to sit back? >> So tell for >> I'm just here. Can you breathe for me? >> Okay. Is this something normal for you? >> Yeah. It's been getting worse. >> How old are you? >> I'm 33. 33. Okay. >> Okay. I'm going to have medics come out and take a look at you. Okay. Do you want to sit down on the ground? >> Do you want to sit on the ground or do you want to sit back on this? You want to lay down? You want to lay down on your side over here? >> The officers tried to make things more convenient for the suspect. He also prevented her from falling to the ground. But it seemed the woman was either a good actress or her condition was actually getting worse. >> Let's take your purse off just to make you more comfortable. Okay, >> there we go. >> Yeah, we're good for >> I'm not going to take it from you. I'm not going to look through it. Let's just go ahead and move it over here. Okay, >> I don't care about your purse. >> I'm going to I'm going to sit with you, but I'm still going to check I'm just still going to check your fingers, which makes it feel like we have a warrant. >> Do you have seizures? We're just going to hold you here. >> Just don't I'm just going to sit here with you until medicine here. Do you have a warrant? >> No. >> No. Or anything like that? Okay. But I'm I still have to ID [music] you. So, we're going to sit here with you until medics sit here. Okay. You want to go on your side? Can you go on your I'm going to put you on your side. I'm going to put you on your side. >> I'm going to put you in the recovery position, ma'am. Okay. >> Go ahead and turn sideways. >> I need to see your hands. >> Relax. >> Relax. Take a breath. Take a breath. >> This is the recovery position so you can breathe. Okay. You got to keep your lungs open. It was interesting how the suspect collapsed right when the officers were trying to take her fingerprints. It looked like she didn't want to be identified. The tantrum she was throwing helped her reach her goal, at least for the moment. But the cops were already guessing she might have a warrant. >> Can I take a look at your fingerprints? >> While you're here, >> I need to know who you are. >> Okay. Can I stop touching me? >> I need to see your fingerprints. >> Okay. >> Can I just take I need to know who you are from medical. >> I'm literally laying on the ground. But you literally started that the moment I talked about. >> Oh my god. Just stop. >> Oh my god. I'm going. >> You don't have to resist. Just stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. I need to know who you are. >> Can I please see your finger? >> Why are you preventing me from doing this? >> Fine. We'll just ID her when she trapped you. Bernie, >> why are you preventing me from IDing you? >> Which what what's the name she gave? >> Uh Rihanna. Rihanna, why are you preventing me from IDing you? >> The officers had to come up with something to deal with the suspect's obvious hysterical behavior. So, they decided to ID her at the hospital. Although, it was not easy to communicate this to her. My family has epilepsy and my family has seizures and you'll be okay. So, we're just going to stop. You're just going to write it out and we're going to prevent you from slamming your head on the ground. Okay. >> Well, the main thing is not to swallow your tongue and to be exactly where you're at. Are you overdosing on drugs? >> Do you need Narcan? >> Got some in my pouch. >> Can I >> to help you with medical? The fire department is going to let me know who you are. >> Can I verify with your fingerprints >> or your ID? >> Or your Can I take a look at your ID? >> Rihanna, why can't I find out who you are? >> Rihanna, I'm about 80% sure this is real, but about 20% believing that you're making a show. If uh if breathing changes or anything like that, we'll do CPR. But for now, there's nothing you can do at this point for a seizure to prevent her from slamming into anything. >> The fact that she's so resistance on her fingers, which is weird, but I'm not going to force. I am not able to force because it's not going to pass. >> This was just a courtesy for them. >> So, they'll go with the information that we have. If we can't identify, we can't identify. >> Soon, medics arrived at the scene and took over with the suspect, but if anything, her behavior only confirmed that the seizure was not real. One of them shared his opinion with the officers >> because how are in the process of you seizing and causing this much pain to prevent me from grabbing your hand? >> Seize and No, it's not. >> You would just be seizing and you would let I would be able to at least grab a finger. Yeah. >> Okay. >> You're seizing, you lose control of your body. >> So, she's not seizing otherwise she would have lose control. >> Yeah. And I would have So, but she's very strong and holding her arm against me where two of my arms can't even do it. While the paramedics were dealing with the suspect's fake seizure, the cops had a chance to check her purse. Inside, they found an ID confirming that she had indeed lied to them about her name. Nicole, >> you're Nicole. >> All right, Nicole. The fact that I'm going to ID you is I'm going to ID you through this. Okay. It's important that we do it. Okay. I believe that you're doing this because you don't want me to know who you are. So, I'm going to find out who you are. >> Can't do that. >> Okay. Okay, I'll take a picture and put it back. >> That's fine. I'll put it back. But I'm still going to ID you. I believe this has everything to do with you not wanting me to know who you are. Nicole, you also gave me a fake name. So, if I find that you don't go to the hospital, I'm going to take you to jail for lying to me. So, either you give me a real name or we're going to go to jail. Looks like you at the players club at at the the Muckle Shoot. So, she's Nicole. Well, you just you're not a Briana at all, Nicole. If you're having a medical emergency, you shouldn't be worried about me. >> Stay out of my illegal. Nicole, I'm here to identify who you are cuz now I believe that you're lying to me. So now I'm investigating obstruction. >> Hey, if you're having a medical then let me print you and let's take care of this. Can I print you real fast and fix this? Let me print you and we'll call it a good. Nicole had definitely lied to the officers about her name when she presented herself as Briana. That gave police probable cause for her arrest. But learning her real name led to another discovery which made her situation even worse. $7,500 warrant. >> Ah, now we know why. >> One more guy down here. One more person, please. >> Go help them real fast. >> Hey, Nicole, you have a $7,500 warrant. >> And now we know why this is happening. But now you're going now you're going strapped down because now we're forcing you to go to the hospital. >> Don't worry about it, Nicole. I don't need your fingers anymore. I identified who you were. >> The officer had already decided that after going to the hospital, Nicole was definitely going to jail. And as they loaded her into the ambulance, he told her directly what awaited her. >> Nicole, I'm gonna be straight with you. >> I'm gonna be straight with you. Look at me, guys. I promise you I will take you to jail unless you stop. >> I promise you I work until 7:00 a.m. and I will wait for you at the St. Francis. You need to stop and you need to tell us what's going on. >> You have my body. >> Okay. Why did you lie to me about your name? >> Yes, you did. You said your name was Brianna and your name is Nicole. >> Oh my god. medical medic doesn't doesn't really have a diagnosis for you. >> Open your eyes. Open your eyes. >> Really good. >> Okay, that's fine. And and we'll follow you there. Open your eyes. So you can look at There you are. That's you, right? >> No. >> That's not you. >> No, that absolutely is you, Nicole. >> You have So, okay. Very good. All right. Well, guess what? We don't need your fingerprints anyway. >> So, now we know who you are. But I'm going to follow you to the hospital cuz now I'm hoping an obstructing investigation and providing a false name investigation. I don't I don't play games and and I believe this is a game. >> The officer stated that he wasn't going to leave until Nicole went to jail. He kept his promise and waited for her at the hospital. Her hysteria had passed and she became unexpectedly rude to him. >> We're foring charges on you. >> Okay. Because that was ridiculous. >> No, I do. >> Okay. So, also he's got to read you your rights. What? >> We're We're going to talk about your warrants and and how you lied to us about your name. >> But but dang, girl. Go look what drugs did. >> Shut up. You're hella rude. You're >> Hey, Nicole, listen up. I'm officer Carrian. All right. >> You're rude. You're being >> Nicole. Listen. >> That was rude. Okay. >> That was rude. >> Hey, look. You're talking to me now, right? >> That was rude. >> You're talking to me right now, right? Uh you're you're on body cam right now. Okay. I'm going to read your rights. We have probable cause for you obstructing justice and giving a false statement to police. >> Okay. Nicole was brought to jail and charged with shoplifting, providing false information to an officer, and obstruction. She was also booked on the hit and run warrant. On December 20th, 2024, police received a report of a woman shoplifting from multiple stores in the area. Officers were dispatched and upon arrival, they spotted the suspect in front of Target. >> What have I done? So, if you want to explain to her, what? >> Real quick. So, right now, you are being detained for suspicion of retail theft over at the Kohl's earlier today. Do you have an ID on you? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. >> Can I go use the bathroom real fast? I think >> not right now. Okay. >> Where are you coming from today? >> I'm just walking around. I just came from one of the stores. I haven't done anything wrong. >> I haven't done anything wrong. >> No. Do you? The woman rushed to declare her innocence, but the moment the conversation paused for a few seconds, [music] she tried to slip away unnoticed. The officer sensed this and did not allow her to disappear. >> Ma'am, you're not free to leave at this time. >> Who's that? >> You're being detained. >> Ma'am, >> you are being detained for what? >> You need to stop. >> Let me see. Let me use the bathroom. >> You stand. No, you're Nope. >> Can I call my sister? >> We're going to give you a moment to call whoever you'd like. Why are you entertaining me? That's me. >> That's you walking out of Kohl's >> when? >> At 2 or excuse me, 2:20 in the evening or the afternoon today. >> So, here's the deal. [snorts] >> I'm going to ask you again for an ID. >> I don't have one. >> Okay. What's your name? >> I'm going [snorts] to ask you. >> My name is Bri. >> Is that short for anything? >> Brenda. >> All right. Just take a deep breath. >> Brenda, do you have anything on your person that has your name? >> No. So, we can confirm that. >> No, I just want to go use the bathroom myself. Can I just go right there? >> Nope. >> The officers were well aware that Brenda was looking for an opportunity to flee. She was carrying neither an ID nor a driver's license. On top of that, she claimed she had no idea why she was being detained. The officers had to explain it to her, which clearly frustrated her. >> Again, you are being detained for suspicion of retail theft. They have you over at Kohl's here just up the way on video putting makeup in your pockets walking out of the store without paying for it. >> I didn't put makeup in my pockets at >> I have you I have you on video >> makeup I didn't take any makeup from that store. I want to see that right now. No, and then I want to go. I didn't take any makeup from that store. I swear I didn't. >> Here's the deal. >> Show me the makeup. >> Hold on. >> I didn't I didn't take any of >> Can you let my partner explain? >> Okay. Yeah. >> I want you to be totally honest. Is all the information that you've given me correct? >> Yes. >> Okay. Cuz I'm going to tell you >> if any of the information that you've given me, because right now I do have probable cause for your arrest. If any of that information that you've given to me is false, that is going to be an additional charge for obstructing identification. >> No, that's great. And can I go home now? >> Not yet. >> She began repeating that she hadn't stolen any makeup. The officers didn't believe her. In fact, she admitted to taking some makeup, but she didn't call that stealing. She had a different term for it. >> I didn't. That's not I didn't I I some a sample thing I used, but I didn't take any makeup. >> Well, I have you on video putting it in your pockets. >> No, that was that's that was a sample. >> The exact same clothes that you're wearing. >> It was a sample thing. >> You put it in your pockets. >> But it was a sample pockets. That doesn't matter. You can't. >> I thought you could. It's a sample. >> Well, no, that's not how it works. It was a sample. I don't even Are you willing to show me? >> I don't have it anymore. Okay. >> I don't have the thing. It was like a little sample of a like a um a liner and I don't have it anymore. >> Okay. >> Cuz I didn't even like I don't have >> So what was taken was two things of like makeup powder with you know with the little mirrors and the powder that you can put on your face and then a setter. Okay. >> I don't have that anymore. I don't I don't even have it anymore. Okay. Where would it be? >> It was just some sample stuff and I didn't like it. I don't know. I just kind of threw it in. It might be right over there in the garbage. I didn't keep it. So, >> okay. >> The officers caught Brenda in a lie. She had told them she didn't have a phone on her, but moments later, she pulled one out. When they asked why she had misled them, she had a ridiculous explanation for that, too. >> You don't have a phone? >> I have my phone, but it's my sister's. >> So, you said you took samples from where? >> Cole's. From Cole's front right here with me. Okay. >> You just told me you don't have a phone. No, I said it's my friend's phone. I don't have a phone. So, same thing. Same thing. They're all over the place here. Same thing. I'm sad right now. And I wet myself cuz all of a sudden I'm in trouble for some and they were like they they were um translucent >> and samples. Yeah. And then like So, I didn't even keep them. >> Okay. >> And if up to that point she had been giving silly excuses for her lies, the situation only became [music] even more pathetic from there. Especially when the officers noticed she was also wearing stolen items. >> What? You have a tag still on your hoodie. What happened there? That's just my shirt. You left the tag on it. >> It's just my shirt. >> It's a new style. >> Yeah, it's not a new style. I I >> You ripped the You ripped the scanner off, but the tag's still attached. >> I didn't write a scanner. This is not I didn't rip a scanner. This is mine. >> Wait, look at the tag. Want me to show >> I know. I see the tag there, but that's not that. That's mine. >> Okay. >> I see that there. I have layers on today, >> girl. I'm just saying you left the tag on. >> No, I didn't leave the tag on this night. It's just something I threw on. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. >> The officers determined that Brenda had a Walmart cart and had dumped merchandise near a bush. They had also seen a video of her putting items in her pocket and walking [music] out of the store. Despite the mounting evidence, the suspect continued to play innocent. >> I'd like to go home. >> Well, >> am I going to be able to go home? Unfortunately, I I don't know. My partner is the >> home. >> So, you know the other the other gentleman that you were talking to before I came in here? We're gonna have to talk to him about that. >> Okay. >> I came here late. That's why I was asking what your name is and all that. >> Dennis and Peter. I'm not going to run away, Dennis. I'm not going to hit you. I've never had any Never done anything violent. >> I'm not saying you're I'm not saying you're a violent person. >> Where Where is home? >> Down the street. >> Oh, okay. >> I'm just pacing, sir. I'm sorry. Nice. >> You my pace, too. You're handsome, though. >> Thank you. >> You're nice looking, too. >> Oh, I appreciate you. That's very kind. >> Brenda tried to soften the officers. But she didn't have many options left as the evidence clearly proved her crime. Soon, the cops found the cart she had used to operate her scheme. >> You're the man, dude. Appreciate that. >> This is >> I think she's giving me a phony baloney name. >> I would assume so, especially if she's not coming back. >> Correct. So, I'm going to try a couple other things. >> Did you talk to Target? Cuz this is Target's bags. >> Target. So, earlier they said she didn't take anything, but that may have changed between now and >> Yeah, he's actually So, you're going to want to check somebody go check up on him. He's going to go review footage. >> One of the officers had spoken with the management of Kohl's. One of the stores Brenda had shoplifted from. >> I got dispatched out to Kohl's earlier today. They advised me that there was a retail theft of several pieces of makeup items offered for sale. The total value of those items is $141. They have you on video walking over to the makeup [music] section, putting those items in your pocket, and walking past the last point of sale without procuring a form of payment. I'm talking. You're listening. >> I'm apologizing. Okay. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> Okay. I'm trying to be nice, but we keep talking over [music] me, and that's a little frustrating. Give me a moment. >> Hello, Miss Thomas. Could you follow me, please? The officers escorted Brenda in front of the store. She asked to take the merchandise from her cart, but they had other plans for her. The problem was that she didn't want to comply with their instructions. She somehow managed to keep making her situation worse with more stupid antics. >> Turn over and look at that squad car for me. The white one. >> I don't want to. >> Okay. >> Why do I have to look at the squad car? >> Okay. >> I want to know. Give me another >> because they need to take a look at you. >> And that guy, that's that guy I explained before. >> Oh, this is the guy in the car. >> Yes. >> Which car? The white guy. >> The white one that just drove past. >> Some incognito thing. He thinks I'm going to come get him. I'm not going to do anything to anyone. >> That's just a police procedure. >> You see me? >> That's >> Can't they show? Can't they? They see me with the scar. >> Very good. >> Very good. >> All right. >> So, what happens now? Let's just be honest. I'm very nervous. I peed on myself. >> Okay. >> I did. The officer warned her at that point if she couldn't prove her identity, she was going to be placed under arrest. She responded once again that she had no documents in her purse. That only sealed her fate. >> You are under arrest at this time for the crime of retail theft. We're going to go over right here to this black F-150. Miss Thomas, please be mindful of your step. >> I won't let >> You're going to have to really help me. >> Okay, I've got you. I'm not going to let you fall. I'm just going to take your hat off. >> No, don't. >> I have to take it off. It's departmental policy. I >> I don't know. No, please don't. I usually I have a religious beanie that's in my purse. I >> It's going to go right back on. I have to take it off real quick and then >> Oh god. Don't do this to me. Please let me go home. >> Nope. We're [music] past that point now. >> Okay. >> I want it back on now. >> I Brenda, >> please. >> I'm going to put it back on. I said I had to take it off for a second and put it right back. >> Can I have my religious beanie? Your beanie is still on there. >> No, it's Is it on my head? Cuz I was hot and I had taken it off. I have a religious beanie I wear all the time. >> What color is it? >> It's black. >> It's still on your head. >> I don't know. I'm nervous. >> I'm never going to get out of jail. >> Despite knowing she was going to jail, she seemed more concerned about her being. Brenda was transported to jail where she was charged with retail [music] theft and obstruction. On June 12th, 2025 in Palm Beach, Florida, Home Depot employees noticed a customer behaving suspiciously. [music] While monitoring him on camera, they saw him switching barcodes on merchandise. Police were immediately dispatched [music] and they confronted the suspect near the store's entrance. Come here. Stop. >> Stop. Stop. >> What's going on? All right. I'll watch you this one time. >> I'll watch you. All right. >> 100%. >> 100%. Where do I go? >> Back this way. >> All right. >> Home Depot won this one. Can you open up a 65 code for me? >> The suspect was led to the staff room by an officer and an employee. He appeared calm and lighthearted. He even allowed himself to crack jokes, possibly trying to hide his nervousness. >> Well, at least you know one thing. I'm definitely not going to be running my size. You know what I mean? >> Never know. >> Have you seen somebody my size? Really? >> Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. >> That's America's funniest song. Oh, you want me to go with you? >> Yep. >> Oh, I thought you said stay right here. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. >> I thought it was going to be under the cops of America's funniest home video. You know what I mean? >> There's some big people that won. >> Yeah, some deceiving. >> Really? >> Very deceiving. >> You're going to sit in that truck. >> This one. Sorry about that. >> You have your ID on you? >> Uh, it's an old one. >> The photo and your name and everything. >> Yeah, it has my name on it. Yep. here. >> When was the last time you got arrested? >> Uh, a month and a half ago. >> For what? >> Um, it was nothing related to this. It was uh driving with um license suspension. >> The suspect took his detainment calmly, even making fun of his own weight. It's as if he's used to encountering cops. Soon he expressed an interesting stance on shoplifterss, judging only those who tried to flee when caught. >> Maybe it's just listen, we're all human. People make mistakes, but I mean to run to me is like I don't know. >> How many times have you been arrested for retail theft before? >> I think twice. >> Okay. How many times were you convicted of them? >> Uh I don't think any. >> Okay. Cuz I >> Was it Was it at Home Depot or was it at other stores? >> One was at a Home Depot. >> Okay. >> Um but the Home Depot one got thrown out. >> Okay. >> Uh because long story short, my boss, he needed a expansion tank and a garage door opener uh for no gate opener. And he needed it two sets of the water tanks and he needed two of the garage gate openers with four arms in my truck. I can't get all of those in one shot. Okay. So, I was going the night before, purchasing it, leaving his credit card on his table. He was calling it in. >> You don't have to explain it. >> No, I'm just telling you. I'm just giving you that's why, but it was it was wind up throwing out. Yeah. >> The suspect stated he wasn't on probation and didn't have any warrants. Shortly after he shared that ironically he was quite familiar with police daily life as it was the subject of his favorite TV show. >> You know you want to know what's ironic? >> I live off of the cops show the show Cops. >> Yeah. >> I live watching off that. >> So I see what you guys have and the girls have to go through with people being like >> Yeah. Yeah. Oh, you know, oh you know. And then all of a sudden it's like somebody's like huge one in big town. Like >> I saw one they pull a guy over. He was uh the head of some gang. I don't know what one of the big gang but he was like one of the head guys. >> He just happened to pull him over. >> You know what I mean? It's like out of nowhere. >> It's usually how traffic stops go. >> Yeah. >> You really don't know who you're pulling over. >> It seemed the suspect treated the detention as routine considering he still managed to make small talk. The officer told him that felony theft was over $750, which initially reassured him since he believed he hadn't stolen items worth that much. But when he realized he was still going to jail, [music] he became worried. >> Home Depot one. >> Home Depot one. >> Can you start another unit here? I'll have a 105. >> Am I going in? >> Yep. >> Oh, no. >> Yeah. How much was it? >> I don't know, but stand up. >> Yep. Oh my god. >> Can you bring your arms close enough for one set of cuffs? >> Okay, we'll wait till we get somebody else questions now. >> Give me one second. Just put your hands on top of your head. I'm just going to search you. >> All right. Good. >> Nothing on anything. Right. >> Yeah. What's that? Well, it's not stupid. >> I shouldn't have anything. >> Okay. Well, you do. So, >> I do. >> Um, you don't have any gloves, do you? >> Yeah. I'm sorry. My hands >> Keep your hands right there. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got you. My bad. >> Or anything. You have to tell. >> Would you like me to empty for you? >> The suspect emptied his pockets. He was fully cooperative with the police, [music] but that didn't make his crime go away. Soon, an employee confirmed the total value of the stolen items, and it was bitter news for the suspect. >> How much was it, brother? >> 900s. >> In the hundreds? >> 900s? >> 900? Really? >> No. >> I thought that was a $300. >> 600 bucks. Literally, I thought that was 300 bucks. >> Yeah, but I thought that's where it said 300 by there. >> Take a step back. >> I apologize. You break down his phone number. >> Yeah, just have a seat for right now. We're going to get to everything. Have a seat. >> Yeah. >> I just can't bring you out to my car cuz there's a dog in my car. Oh, you got a dog, too? >> Yeah. >> Got you. >> So, I can't I need someone else to come here to come here. >> You've been cooperative this whole time. >> Yeah. I I'm Listen, like I said, I apologize. Stupid doesn't make up for anything that done, but I apologize. >> Perhaps he based his estimation on the barcodes with the low prices that he switched. Soon, the suspect realized he would most likely be given a bond. He explicitly asked the officers to let him call a relative. They allowed it and he shared the unfortunate situation he had gotten himself into with a close person. >> They yell at me when I get home. All right. But I did yell at me when I get home. Just listen. Stupid thing. I'm at Home Depot. Okay. I'm going to getting arrested. Please b me out club. I just have to speak. more justification. All right, >> see what time >> I'm sure it was for a little bit. >> Um, chat 67. >> Yeah, if you can pick me up if I do get that out tonight. Okay. I'm sorry to yell at you there. All right. >> All right. Thank you. >> It was time for the suspect to be handcuffed. Due to his large size, the officers couldn't manage with just one set of cuffs. They had to get creative. [music] And the suspect himself suggested the solution. After all, it wasn't his first arrest, and he knows how things usually go from watching his cop shows. Yeah, sure. Absolutely. >> Turn your hands inward like you're prying. >> Okay. >> A third one. >> Yeah. Maybe >> four. >> Yeah. >> I'm not going to lie to you. The time with the Home Depot where go they had four. give you mine. >> Yeah, cuz I got wet. It's got uncomfortable. Hold on. Lock these on your wrist so they don't tighten up. The suspect was transported to the local police station. He was charged with theft. He was sentenced to 48 days in jail, one year of probation, and 50 hours of community service. On August 22nd, 2025, police in Ohio responded to a call from a Family Dollar. An employee flagged officers down about a female shoplifter who was attempting a theft. A patrol unit was dispatched and upon arrival, the officer spotted the suspect in [music] the store's parking lot, walking quickly toward a parked white Ford. >> ID now. >> I don't have ID. >> ID now. >> I didn't walk out. You walked out. >> Yeah. Clear. Clearly. Come here. >> Come here. Stop backing away from me. No. Stop backing away from me and come over. Ma'am, stop backing away from me and come over here. >> My receipt's in there. >> No, it's not. Come here. Stop. You're walking away from me. I don't like it. >> Then get over here. Stop walking away from me. >> There's a hotel right there in the back. >> You have ID on you or not? >> I don't have ID. >> If I find out you have ID on you, you're lying to me. That charge for that. >> I found >> The officers collected the suspect's personal information and ran it through the system. Meanwhile, the suspect got into the white Ford she had been trying to flee with. It turned out there was a male driver inside. >> I literally had >> Where's your seat? Put it right here. >> Let me see your receipt. What? What's in there? What's in there? How about a receipt? I promise you. [music] >> Okay, let's just wait. Okay. >> Okay. So, >> so [music] why did you have like It looks like those clothes. >> That's just >> So, why would they say that you're stealing if >> the man inside the car had likely been waiting to drive the female shoplifter away with the [music] stolen merchandise? The female suspect couldn't explain to the officer why she was suspected of stealing, but that wasn't her biggest problem. Soon, the male officer discovered something that sealed her fate. >> Okay, >> get on your handcuffs. >> All right, come in. >> Get out of the car. Get out of the car. YOU'RE GOING TO GET TASED. WE NEED ANOTHER unit here. She's fighting. I'm going to tase you. Taser. Taser. Taser. GET OUT OF THE CAR. GET OUT OF THE CAR. Get out of the car. >> I'm going to take you. [screaming] >> Get out OF THE CAR. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR RIGHT NOW. I'M GOING TO save you. >> I'm scared. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. GET OUT OF THE CAR. GET OUT OF THE CAR. Get out of the car. GET OUT OF THE CAR. I'M ORDERING YOU OUT OF THE CAR. >> Get out of the car. Get out of the car. YOU'RE GOING TO TASE. YOU KEEP YOUR HANDS UP. KEEP YOUR HANDS UP, SIR. SIR, KEEP YOUR HANDS UP. >> Once the taser was drawn, the driver exited the car very quickly. The female suspect, however, remained shaken inside the vehicle. Officers stepped in to force her out as she began resisting. >> Get out. Get out. Get out. Got her. >> I'm getting out. I'm getting out. Put your hands behind your back right now. I'm going to throw you on the ground. You're not going to like me. >> Get up and turn around. Turn around. >> Turn around. >> You did this to yourself. >> Should have all been avoided. >> Now, who are you really? Cuz that social is not a good social. >> Can you please let me go? >> Nope. This thing on my arm is really, really tight. Please. It's really, really, really, really tight. Tag me. It's really tight. Go. You don't move. >> The suspect was placed in the patrol car. She was clearly trying to hide something because she had given police a fake social security number. Officers then spoke with her companion to determine his role in the situation. It appeared there were issues with his documents as well. You >> know, you don't got a license, man. while you driving. >> I'm about to go get her, bro. I got her little problem. I got >> Yeah. >> Oh, what the hell? Who is she to you? >> Well, it's a friend. >> Why she saying die with the cops? >> Ain't no daddy. >> You know how girls I don't even have. [music] >> So, what's her what's her name? >> I know my friend's names. All I know is Tier. At the same time, the female suspect was throwing a tantrum in the back of the patrol car. She claimed she was in poor health, like she was desperately trying to gain the officer's [music] sympathy. >> Listen, listen. Oh, we got we got an ambulance coming. Okay, but if you have asthma, why would you fight with the cops? Like, I mean, I'm not a genius here, but that's pretty stupid. So, you're not going to give us who you really are? >> You are terror. Okay, let's try this again. Okay. Do you have a warrant or something? >> Is that what you're worried about? >> Is you're just worried about a warrant? >> No. We have a We have an ambulance coming. Okay. >> You're going You're going to go to jail. >> The suspect, Tara, was clearly hysterical. Her asthma attack, if it was real, appeared to be triggered by fear. The officers sensed something was off. And soon they received information revealing what she had been hiding. So, she's also showing as a missing person. >> Oh, you're missing? Well, we found you. >> 1348 radio. >> Okay, I just scroll down. I see that she's a missing person in danger. >> She checked the cuffs. You're fine. >> I can get a two fingers. >> I'm trusting my sergeant over your word at this point. So >> Tara had officially been listed as missing for the past 3 months shortly after an ambulance arrived and medics evaluated her. One of the officers spoke with the Family Dollar employee who showed him surveillance footage of how Tara had behaved inside the store. >> So question, did she pay for anything at all or did she just walk out? >> She walked out. We were both at the register. That's why I told her, "No, you did not. You walked straight out. It's got to be [music] around this time cuz it was only like 6:08 when we walked back here. That's her right there. >> Okay. [snorts] >> All right. I doubt we're going to be able to tell everything cuz the way the tote's organized, it looks like she just grabbed a bunch of stuff and threw it in the tote and walked out. [snorts] All right, I'll let them know. >> Cool. Thank you. >> The officers returned the stolen items to the store. Tara was ultimately charged with theft, obstructing official business, and falsification. On February 27th, 2024, officers responded to Kohl's regarding a shoplifting attempt. Two women were seen bolting from the store and sprinting straight into Walmart. When officers arrived, they rushed directly after the suspects. >> Hey, police. Get on ground. Okay. >> GET ON THE GROUND. [screaming] NO. >> HANDS OUT. >> HOW CAN I >> PUT YOUR HANDS OUT? DON'T MOVE. >> HOW CAN I PUT MY HANDS UP? >> Tango throwing. Okay. We got one detained at the at the pharmacy. >> You don't got nothing. >> Shut up. >> Keep your hands where I can see him. Let's go. >> I can't just >> All right. >> It's hard. >> There you go. >> Let's go. >> The police rushing into the store startled customers, but the first suspect was already in custody. The other was still inside the store. Shortly after, officers detained the second woman as well and brought them both outside. >> Come over this side. >> Oh yeah, I got clones. I forgot about that. >> Yeah, my bad. >> Put her in the >> Excuse me, man. My arm. My arm like you hurting me. >> What? What about your arm? >> You hurting me. >> How am I hurting you? >> It's twisted. >> Okay, then don't move your hands. Don't move your hands. >> Go ahead. Sit down. Hello. >> Where are your shoes? >> They're in the so >> while you were running away. >> I don't. >> Yeah, that's fine. Thank you. >> Both female shoplifterss were placed into the patrol car. They had made the officers work for it, but at least the game of hideand seek was over. They then shared their version of what had happened. >> Okay. What happened? >> Okay. We was in the store. Yes, we allegedly did what we did, but we didn't. >> Well, what what do you mean? What do you mean? Yes, you you did allegedly what you did. >> Did Did you conceal items in your bag? >> No, I don't. You You got my bag. I have nothing in my bag. We don't have nothing. >> I don't have anything in my bag. airport. I'm just saying you what I from my understanding from what I know that if we're not if we're not doing we don't have anything and we leave out >> we wasn't even supposed to get tampered with. We wasn't even supposed to get chased. Was it wasn't even supposed to be called stupid >> like none of that. >> Okay. So beforehand when I asked if you want to talk about what happened you said yes you did what you were alleged of. So what are you alleged of doing? >> I don't know. whatever he whatever he assumed we did cuz he came out the store saying stupid get down and all that and he ran that man knew he he ran after us for nothing. >> You ran after us. We don't even have nothing. So you chased us for nothing. >> Okay. So So why did you run? If you felt that Listen, if you walking out the store and somebody started chasing you, what you going to do? Run. >> The women claimed they ran from the store security not because they had stolen anything, but because they were being chased and insulted. That prompted the female officer to ask a very logical question. >> Okay. What What about the sirens? Did you hear the police sirens? >> No, we did not hear that. >> You didn't hear the police sirens and then did you hear an officer telling you to stop? >> No, we only heard a man call us stupid. We was in the store when he was still chasing [music] us. >> Okay. So, you didn't feel that you were safe once you were in a store and nobody else was running? >> He was still chasing us. The whoever that man was, he was still chasing us. So again, you felt it was okay to run through a store though instead of going asking somebody for help. >> There is help in there. >> But but so who's going to help you all the way back in pharmacy? >> What do you mean who's going to help? >> You were found all the way in the back of the store. So who's going to help you back there? >> Everybody that was looking? [music] >> Nobody. So nobody from the front entry all the way to the back of the store is going to help you. >> They wasn't even paying attention when we first came in. They wasn't even looking at us. There weren't any stolen items inside their purses, but they also claimed they hadn't thrown anything outside the store, but the female officer didn't buy it. >> Cuz one of you had something white in your hand while you were running. >> I have nothing. I have nothing. So, ma'am, I have nothing. You got my purse. >> I'm going to go through both your purses. >> Okay. >> Right. [music] Not >> nothing. Nothing from Sephora. Nothing at all. >> The officer began searching the suspect's purses. The women were left alone in the car. Then something interesting happened. Unaware there was a camera inside, both shoplifterss started revealing their schemes. >> So, what name I'm supposed to give to get away? >> Huh? What name I'm supposed to give her? You know, sister freaking >> I don't know her social or nothing. I don't think they're going to ask me. Give her my little information. I don't know none of that. Let me get I know they going to let you leave. So, this June 8 what? Jeremy, >> just stay on the phone with me in case they ask for the social 8 1995. >> The woman with the black cap, Aramaica, clearly wanted to hide her identity. Meanwhile, the female officer finished searching their purses. Unsurprisingly, she found suspicious items inside the purse of the suspect in the pink blouse, whose name was Alexia. >> What is this? >> The pink. >> Is this you? Is this used to take the um magnetics? >> No. off of clothes? [music] >> No. >> So then what is it for? >> What do you mean? What is it for? >> Huh? >> What do you mean what is it for? >> What? [music] What is this for? >> It's not for nothing. It's on my tennis. >> I know, but why? >> Cuz it's mine. >> Okay, but what is it for? >> It's not for nothing. >> It's a magnet. >> Okay. It's not for nothing. I don't know. >> They're not mine. >> You're right. Cuz you didn't buy them. >> What are you talking about? I didn't have nothing in my purse. >> This was just pulled from your purse. >> Oh, I was around. >> So, you do understand that their cameras are great, right? Every single angle they have in PS. >> You understand that, right? >> Yeah. She dropped her purse and also her slides out of them and ran and those things were He picked up her purse, looked inside of it, and was yours. I just watched the whole entire thing and find. >> Yeah. My slides was in Walmart. My slides wasn't in my purse. >> No, it didn't say your slide. They were on your feet when they came over here supposedly. >> No. >> When he chased after you or something. >> Yeah, my slides were on my feet. They're at Walmart, >> right? So, these items [music] that are brand new, seal is still on them >> are not yours. You stole them from Kohl's. >> The situation wasn't looking good for both Arama and Alexia. But they were clearly experienced with this kind of encounter. They didn't lose their temper. They were used to acting as if they had done nothing wrong. >> They said that was in my purse. >> No, that wasn't. >> I literally just pulled these out of your purse. I literally just pulled them out. >> Okay. So either you took them or she took them. >> Ma'am, you got my purse. You got my purse. They wasn't in her purse. >> I That's not the question I asked. I didn't ask whose purse they were. And I So they these were in your purse. There's no question about that. I just pulled them out of your purse. So now my question is cuz these were taken without being paid for. So now the question is the two of you were together. So somebody stole them. It was either you that stole them or it was her that stole them. So which one is it? Either you stole them and put them in your purse or she stole them and put them in your purse. >> You can't. They was at my purse. >> Huh? They were they were in your mark first. >> I understand they were in your purse. I'm not denying that at all. I found these in your purse. >> I I just >> It's pretty clear what I'm asking you. >> But I just I answered it. >> No, no. You said they were in your purse, [music] which I understand they were in your purse. I found them in your purse. That's not my question. You're not answering my question. My question is, did you steal them and put them in your purse or did she steal them and put them in your purse? >> She did. >> So then who stole these then? [music] >> I did. She didn't. >> Okay. Yes. >> And you don't want to admit that this is a device used to take the metal pieces off of clothing? >> No. >> Okay. >> Soon the officers explained to both women that they had been acting together. They were both under arrest for a felony as the total amount of stolen items exceeded $750. >> Do I ain't even do I even have bro? This guy literally just told them what was going on, bro. Man, I've been doing so good, dog. I just played. That's so I played, dog. I did. I did. I did. Bro, excuse me. >> Ma'am, how am I getting under arrest? I didn't even do anything. >> There's video footage showing the two of you concealing items underneath your clothing. >> Ma'am, I had nothing under my clothes. >> Right. So that is why both of you are being charged because you had the intent. >> You had the intent of stealing the items from Kohl's depriving them of their items. >> So what is that charge? >> It's a felony. It's theft. >> What is the charge? >> Theft. >> Oh, theft. I didn't even >> And if it's over $750, >> but we didn't go past all points of sale. So I don't really get what you're saying. So it's the y [music] charge people with allegedly. >> It doesn't matter if the intent is there to deprive the business of their product which you putting it in your bag. You did that then that's that's the charge. >> The two women complained inside the patrol car that they had screwed it up and that was what led to their detainment. Soon police determined that Arama had a criminal history. >> Is it Arama? Is that how you say it? >> Yeah. >> What are you on inmate release for? Or supervised release? What you mean what I'm on there for? >> Violent felony offender. What' you do? >> I didn't violate nobody, sir. What are you talking about? >> Talking about your history. I'm not talking about anything here. >> That's That was false, sir. >> That was false. Hey, I wasn't there. >> But you can see it, though. Don't I wasn't charged with it. [music] That was false information. >> Both suspects were taken to jail. They were ultimately charged with resisting without violence. Only [music] Alexia was charged with petite theft. On May 13th, 2024 in League City, Texas, police [music] responded to a call from a Best Buy store. According to security staff, a customer had left the store with two speakers without paying [music] for them. Upon arrival, officers confronted the suspect in the parking lot. >> I was trying to get to the comfort in. >> Say again. >> The comfort in. >> The comfort in. >> I got Uber here with my friends and then they left with another Uber. So, I'm trying to get the conference in. >> Okay. You got an ID or anything on you, boss man? >> I really don't. You could check me and everything. I really don't. >> Okay. Um, where have you where you been? Where have you been at since you got dropped off here from your friends? >> I walked down the strip a little bit, walked around. I took off. >> Okay. Did you go inside Best Buy? >> No. >> No. Okay. Cuz we got a call about a theft that occurred at Best Buy and the person they described matches you. >> Oh, yeah. I know. I understand. and they could have seen me outside or something, but I really didn't steal anything. I'm just trying to get to my room. >> The man, Adam, didn't have ID on him. When asked if he had entered Best Buy, he denied it. Contrary to the accusations from store security, he claimed he had just been walking around. >> I'm going to be honest with you, like I'm in a rough spot kind of right now. And when I'm walking around or whatever, just trying to clear my mind, people kind of judge me a certain way. And so they'll, you know, you know what I mean? >> I got you. No, I got you. being honest. >> Yeah, I really don't want any problems. Um, you can search me do >> what's your what's your first name? >> My first name. >> I say it's it's kind of messed up. All right, Boston. Would you mind having a seat right there for me on the concrete? >> Uh, what? >> Just like I said. So, we got a call from Best Buy. I'm trying to figure out what's going on here. You match the description of the mail for the theft. So, I got to figure out if there even was a theft. If there's no theft, then you'll be on your way. I haven't talked with them at all. Okay. So, you mind setting your backpack down and having a seat right there for me while I talk with the Best Buy people? >> I mean, there's no way in yet. I could just carry on my day cuz it's kind of messed up on my part, dude. >> The officers were polite with Adong. He was informed that he was being legally detained for the purposes of the investigation. At that point, he decided to take advantage of the officer's goodwill and tried to strike a deal. >> If I'm just upfront with you, can you just write me a ticket or something? >> Sure. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> All right. Yeah. I took a a box, a little speaker. >> Where's it at? >> It's in my bag. >> You mind if I see it? >> Yeah, I'll get it to you. I can't step out the little My bad. I'm not running. I'm not running here. >> We're going to take this off. Put it on the ground. Hands behind your back for me. Stay right there. >> Please be cool. >> I am being cool. I'm just detaining you in handcuffs. Okay. >> If you really want to go from telling the truth. >> Yeah. If it's under if it's under a hundred bucks, I'll let you go. I'll give you a ticket. All right. Watch out, my man. I'm going to have you have a seat in here and I'm going to unzip it in front of you just so I can see it. You ain't got anything on you know about? [music] And you only took one speaker, you said. Which which zipper is it in? >> Top top zipper. >> This one. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. This one right here. What about this other one? >> Uh, no. I did not take that one. I did. I mean, I look, can I just keep being honest with you? >> Go ahead. >> Will you make my life easier, dude? I really don't want to go. >> I will I will help you out as much as much as I can. >> So, you're going to take me to jail? >> That's not necessarily true. I I will I will cut you as much of a break as I can cuz you're being honest. Honesty goes a long way with me. >> Best vehicle was from Best Buy. >> This one's from Best Buy. >> That one was from I got it from a friend. He stole it, but I didn't steal it myself. >> Also from Best Buy. >> I'm not sure, but I bought them off of him. >> The officer asked if there was any other stolen merchandise in Adam's backpack. Adam claimed it only contained clothes, but while patting him down, the officer discovered his other shoplifting trophy. >> Where'd you get these pants from? They still got the tag on them. Meaning they still got the price tag on them. I didn't know they did. I ain't getting them recently. >> You didn't get them recently? >> I just never worn them. >> Okay. >> I'm not lying. I'm tell I'm really found the shoes, sir. >> Oh, I believe you. I believe you 100%. What What pocket is that in that lighter? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? >> I don't want to move around too much. Buy this top one. This right here. >> That's not a pocket. I'm That's why I'm asking which one it's in. >> Oh, I'm I'm wearing shorts underneath it. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> No, it's in your shorts. Okay, that makes sense. All four pockets. >> Oh, don't worry. I'm going to >> Okay. Have a seat back down for me. >> Why? What happened? >> All right. I just need to make sure you didn't have anything on you. >> Oh, okay. >> Go ahead and kick your legs in. >> So, I'm going to jail. >> No, I'm just placing you in the car. And this 100% is going to be you. >> That's 100% going to be you. You're not lying to me about your name. >> Perfect. All right. Sit tight for me. I'm going to close the door right now. You're just detained. You're not under arrest for nothing. The officer suspected he had stolen items not only from Best Buy, but from nearby stores as well. Soon, officers reviewed the Best Buy surveillance footage. >> So, that's him coming in. That's him leaving. He walked past the registers. And then my hostess out there, she asked him, "Hey, do you have a receipt for that?" And he was like, "Uh," he said, "Yeah, I got a receipt." And he kept walking. He just grabbed the product. He put one of them in his bag and then carried this one out in the open. >> Anybody else in the store with him? >> Just him. But he he was out in the parking lot with people, but I believe they were just out. I think he was just asking for money. >> So, you'll see he's got the the little orange speaker in his hand right here. And then he puts it in his bag right there. And then he walks around. He turns back around. He comes over here. I wish I had a good picture, but he zips his bag up. Walks around this way. Un. It's not unzipped anymore. And then he makes a couple passes through the store and then walks out the door with this in his hand. >> The Dom danced around the question of whether or not he had stolen all the items police found on him. The officer sensed he wasn't being truthful and warned him that giving a false name or date of birth would earn him additional charges. >> So, you did give me a false date of birth. >> No, I didn't. >> That's not the date of birth you wrote down. >> No, >> that's exactly what you wrote down right there. That's what you wrote and I even wrote it down underneath to verify. So, you gave me a wrong date of birth. Okay, sit tight for me. Sit tight. >> At that point, the officer realized he couldn't trust a single word the suspect said. Sitting in the back of the patrol car, Adam tried to soften the officer up, but with every passing minute, more stolen items tied to him kept surfacing. >> He told me everything in here stolen. Uh, dispatch even verified that they had him match the thing. He admitted it to me on after I read his Miranda rights that all this is stolen. So, I'm going to have to go do a property receipt for all this. But, he said the bag and everything's stolen. So, like all of this. So, I'm gonna have to go get in touch with the Goodwill manager, and I'm pretty sure his pants are stolen because they have the price tag on them still, too. I'll just have him take them off. He has shorts on underneath. Hey, boss man, are those pants also from Goodwill? The ones you're wearing that have the price tag on them? >> Yes, sir. >> They are. Okay. Face this way. I need you to take those off. You got the shorts on underneath? You You do have shorts underneath. I already saw. >> Sorry. >> Is anything else you're wearing stolen from Goodwill? No. So, nothing in your pockets also stolen from Goodwill? Okay, turn around. Kick over. Come on out here. I'm going to have you step on out so we can get those off cuz they have to go back to Goodwill as well. >> Just moments earlier, Adam had claimed he was only walking around. Now he was taking his pants off after it turned out he had stolen even those. It was humiliating for him, but he had brought it on himself. >> So, go ahead, kick your shoes off. Whatever you got to do, my man. >> Yeah, I got you. >> Step over them. >> You want to sit down and kick your feet out? But we'll just pull them off your feet if that's easier or for that. Sure. However you want to do it. >> Were you show Were you in Walmart today? >> No. But Walmart? >> These pants say Walmart on them. >> No, they're from though. I swear to God they're from Gimbo. >> We will. Yeah. >> So I'm going for sure. >> Yeah. No, you're for sure going to jail. Best one of the first strikers. I already told you guys. >> There's no way. There's no way. Dude, please. >> No. It's for sure. >> Let me get I'll let you get out of the pocket. As of right now, we're working on the price range. Like I said, if it's over $100, that's a class B misdemeanor and you're going to county no matter what. Have a seat. I'm going to take your hat off, too. Okay. I don't like hats in my back seat. Um, if it's over $100, it's a class B misdemeanor. And that means that you get you you're you'll go to League City initially and then you'll head down to Galveston County. >> Galveistston County. >> Yep. Galveistston County. If it's under $100, then you'll stay in League City unless you have any previous theft convictions. >> How long am I going to be in jail for? >> That depends. That depends on all the charges we got. So, like I said, you gave me a false date of birth, which is a whole separate charge. It turned out the total value of the stolen merchandise exceeded $100, meaning the suspect was headed to the League City. Meanwhile, officers continued uncovering more items Adom had stolen. >> So, all that other stuff's from Goodwill. >> I was going to say all this stuff has Goodwill tags on it, but those pants you were wearing has Walmart tags on it. >> I mean, I did not steal those from Walmart. I haven't been to Walmart today. >> So, then how did you acquire them? >> From Goodwill. I just grabbed a bunch of clothes from >> That doesn't make sense why they would keep the Walmart tag on it. >> Dude, you guys could check the camera, dude. I'm not trying to lie to you guys. On July 7th, 2025, police were notified of a shoplifting attempt at a local Walmart. Store staff had spotted the suspect and stopped her at the exit. When officers arrived, a security employee was already leading her into the staff room. Did we have did we deal with you before? >> Yeah. [clears throat] >> What >> happened to me? >> It's been a long one. >> Just they already give you a rundown what's going on, I assume, before they brought you back here. >> She admitted. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Um sounds like you were barred from here previously from a theft. So you're going to be charged additionally with criminal trespass and then the theft of the items taken. Okay. So, my advice to you, once you get all this stuff taken care of, you probably ought to go to the hospital and get your knee looked at >> prior to prior to going in a store and trying to steal some clothes. seems to be >> I don't have any sto tell you right now there's plenty plenty of people running around town right now handing out clothes loads and I mean loads of clothes >> I see them all over town handing out clothes on tables >> Rachel had stolen sprays cans and other small items but not only that the shoes she was wearing had also been stolen from the I >> mean, you're buying a cell phone. He pointed out places where clothing was donated. She already started to seem genuinely sorry. >> How old your son? >> He's 13. >> That's the other. Yeah. >> Let's see. Where's your school at? >> Don't be digging through there yet. >> I'm not put my money in there. >> Okay. >> Southeastern. >> There you go. Yep. >> The same shoes. >> Yeah, they're just dirtier. I got a hole in that tried to do the one for one swap for a new model. >> They just wore down a little bit. >> They wore down a lot cuz I can throw rocks through them. Rachel was escorted out of the store. She looked sad as life had clearly pushed her into repeating the same mistakes over and over again. >> All right, you guys put your horns in front of you. I'll cuff you in front. Okay. >> Yeah. >> I'll fight my buddies. >> Thank you. >> All right. Good. Nothing uh nothing in your bra or in your underwear that's going to get found at the jail then? >> No. >> Cuz I'm not searching you obviously. On the way there, the officer advised her once again to work with her probation officer as they could help her deal with recurring problems. >> Unfortunately, this is what it took, but it's still think about it as step one of getting away from the nonsense. >> You know what I mean? You got to work with your PO a little bit closer. Keep in contact with him. Utilize whatever resources he scrip him because I have got a hold of him. You know what I mean? I don't know. >> Well, he's not going to trip on you for getting a hold of him if you need help. That's what he's there for. >> I know. >> He's not just there to breathe down your neck, you don't, >> right? And I don't have anybody like my my mom and dad are dead. I don't have anybody. I don't know. Life kicked my >> life just kicked my >> I feel you. I've been on my own I've been on my own since I was 17. So I know I know where you're coming from. >> It's 40 now. >> Yeah. And you being a female, you know, these men are like they expect things like I don't know. Just it's messed up. >> It's not saying that I would do it, but you know what I mean? Yeah, >> I know where to go. I don't want him to stay as long as >> and I'm going to leave this >> I'm going to leave this with your property, too. Okay. And you have a kid. How many kids do you have? One, two, two. >> My oldest son, he graduated. He's working at FedEx. He used to work great. I mean, I've raised very good boys, you know. >> Yep. Good. >> You know, I have a job raising these boys, but I got to get more together. >> You just you just got to get back into that. >> Yeah. I want you back, you know, >> because because you still want to hold it together for them even though they're adults because >> eventually eventually they they want to come see their mom, you know what I mean? And they want to see their mom. >> Be there for my kids. You don't want them you to get married and have grandb babies for me. You know, >> then you got to be squared away for that. >> That way they come back and they can see their mom. They can bring their grandkids to see their mom, their grandma. >> My kids worry about me. You know what I mean? I >> sure do. Rachel was eventually charged with theft and outstanding warrants. Hopefully, she will follow the officer's advice. Shoplifterss can outsmart security staff once, twice, or even a couple of times, but eventually on their next attempt, police will be waiting at the store exit, and it will be game over.
