Just relax. One of them in front of the couch then. Up. Up. Up. Up. Hun. Get up. On top of your head. Put your hands on top of your head. Got a female right here. I got it. Jennifer, what's your last name? Hey. Hey. Is this 47 or 43? Oh, damn. I think it's that one. Is it police war? Come to the door. Police search war. Come to the door. Stop. Police search war coming down. It's always shocking when innocent citizens are falsely accused of crimes they had nothing to do with. Likewise, it's horrible when cops execute a search warrant at the wrong address. It's a mistake that should never happen. But unfortunately, there really are instances when dumb cops raid the wrong houses. Can you pull one of those chairs over for me? I don't hear anything now. Okay. I'm a very light sleeper. Yeah. Yeah. Hold on. We're going to pull a chair over for you to sit on. I'm going have you sit on this wall. Okay. Be in the early hours of the morning of April 6th, 2023 in New Haven, Connecticut. Law enforcement had an active search warrant for the apartment of a man suspected of distributing childraphy. The man's apartment was on the second floor, but it seemed counting was beyond the cop's capacity that morning as they went to a different floor. Police the search warrant. Police the search warrant. Policeman the search warrant. behind this warrant. It's hard to imagine a more terrifying alarm clock than screaming cops with guns drawn. But the residents of this apartment were not hardcore criminals. They were an innocent mother named Stacy Weser, her 20-year-old daughter, and her toddler son. Let me see your hands. Let me see your hands. Door or that way? Door. Door. What? Police with the search warrant. Stand by. What? Is there anybody else inside this room with you? No, no, no. No. Why? Why? Where? Where's Tim? Who? Tim? You're you're you're you're Tim. The name downstairs. So, he's down downstairs. No, I do not know where he is. All right. Why? Stand by. Okay. We'll explain everything to you. All right. There's currently a search warrant being executed. Hold on. Hold on. All right. Sorry. Just stay right there. You're good. Okay. All right. Is there a lights I can turn on? Um, right here. Does this work? No, you can. It's on the table. Okay. Where is it? Right over here. I know. Thank you. Matter of fact, for the time being, just stay off your phone and we'll explain everything to you. Despite Stacy's daughter telling cops that the suspect, Timothy Jurg, was living in a different apartment downstairs, they continued to invade her privacy and give unlawful commands. They were clucking around aimlessly like chickens with their heads cut off. Around that same moment, cops also raided the mother's bedroom. Hands. Hands. Hands. Yeah. Hold on. One second. One second. Yeah. I'll tell you, dude. What's going on? Just one second. Okay. We have a search point. All right. We'll explain everything. Okay. Okay. Hold on one second. No, hold on. Hold on. 26 in the back. So, all right. Just take a deep breath. Okay, dear. Take a deep breath. You're all right. We'll explain everything that's going on with you. Okay. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. Can you pull one of those chairs over for me? I can't hear anything now. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hold on. We're going to pull a chair over for you to sit on. I'm going have you sit on this one. Okay. D. [Music] Hold on one second. All right. Let's have a seat. I'm going to take some quick. Okay. Hold on one sec. One second. Is there a life in this room in here? Is he awake? Is he awake? No. No. No. Like any good mother, Stacy was obviously concerned with her sleeping baby. It's a good thing, though, that it does not appear police went into the toddler's room with their guns drawn. By this time, it had dawned on cops they were at the wrong place. So, Lieutenant Marshall offered a heartfelt apology, which to his credit, a lesser man would not have done. Again, I'm Lieutenant I'm Lieutenant Marshall or the Special Victims Unit. This is my personal number. This is my work number. Any issues at all arise, you give me a call. Again, apologize tremendously for waking you both up this way. Um, and any issues, I'll give you a call. We're going to call your landlord. We'll know what transpired. We need a case number, the search warrant execution. You give me a call if you're experiencing anything. We work very closely child study due to the nature of the crimes we deal with. So, really, if you do experience anything at all, it can pop up a day, a week, a month later. give us a call and what you guys thought we needed. Lieutenant Marshall and his unit proceeded downstairs and found the apartment of Timothy Urge. While Timothy was not arrested, he was found dead 5 days later after an apparent side. As for Stacy, she filed a federal lawsuit against New Haven police seeking compensation for emotional damages. Her case was still being litigated as of February 2025. The case in Matthews, Missouri on May 31st, 2023 also features officers begging for forgiveness. According to reports, a house had been condemned the year before and its occupant given 180 days to leave. Officer Savage arrived to do a routine check to make sure it was empty. I'll be out uh at a White House third down from the stop sign from Main Street on Davis Street for a property check. The owner is not at home and the back door is completely open. Going to clear house now. [Music] 628. Is it north or south, Davis? It's going to be North [Applause] Davis. Boy, this is a barber. [Music] 628 new manager. Shot shots fired on fire. Dog. Hey, stop right there. Stop. Officer Savage was acting really dumb. First, considering the beware of dog sign on the door. Being unprepared was inexcusable. Second, Savage should have knocked or at least attempted to communicate with anyone inside. Instead, he held the woman, Susan Arnold, at gunpoint. All because he didn't know how to make intelligent decisions. What are you doing? Why are you There is They tried to attack me. Sir, why did you come in this house? There is a lady here that's supposed to be here. There's no one supposed to be here, ma'am. We are allowed to be here to work. Yes, we are. I was told no one was allowed to be here. You were told wrong. You were told wrong. That dog tried to bite me. Ma'am, you should not have come. That dog tried to bite me. The door was unlocked. I was making sure everyone was okay. Shaking like a leaf. I'm all right. Why would you come in? Aaron is going to Why did you do that? That dog tried to attack me, ma'am. In his home. 628. Send me another unit. You came in his house because that no one's supposed to be here. You You entered this house. The chief came in here and told Aaron it was all right to be here the during the day. I want to talk to the chief. Stay right there. Okay. You shot him three or four times. You shot that dog. I got to check on Ricky. Can I please stay out here with me, please? I need you to stay here with me. Can I just check on the dog? He's probably Oh, open the door, please. Just open it all the way. Open it all the way. The dogs up first. I can't let you do that right now, ma'am. I'm sorry. You just shot his dog, man. It tried to bite me. He came in here. No, babe. You just came in here. Why would you do that? You didn't I was told no one was supposed to be here. That's why the chief came in here and inspected it yourself with Aaron. The officer breathing even heavier than before seemed paralyzed with indecision. Although it's likely the dog Ricky Bobby aka Rico could not be saved. Susan at least wanted to try. But the only thing Officer Savage could do was look at his cell phone and hesitate. Ricky is in his dog. He tried to bite me. I had to go check on him. He shot his dog. I went in there to clear the house. No one's supposed to be here. I opened the door and the dogs came straight at me to go for my leg. Sir, call Mr. Dtonie is on his way here to work. We are mowing and stuff like that. We are We have permission here to work. Patricia Williams and if I can go in there and get my phone, I'll call her. Just hang out. But the dog is in there bleeding. I get that. I get that. Aaron ain't even here. It's his dog. I can't believe you did that. He came in here and didn't even knock. It's Aaron's. So, the back door was open. No, it wasn't. He He says it was open, man. I wasn't here. It stays closed. He's lying. Here. I don't know. He walked in here and cuz the dogs running loose. If you leave the door open, that's why the chains are here. If the doors open, they run out. We got to go chase them down. He's lying to you. He did not knock or nothing. He came in here and shot that man's dog. With better communication skills and common sense from Officer Savage, this whole fiasco could have been avoided. It ought to have been a simple and straightforward interaction. Instead, an innocent woman was traumatized and a dog was laying lifeless on the ground. You got to understand, the dog came after me. He shot Ricky Bobby. Ricky Bobby is shot. Ma'am, I need you to calm down, please. He came into your house, Aaron, without knocking. He shot your dog. He shot what? He shot your dog. What? Yes. Who shot my dog? I need you to calm down. I I need you No. I need you to calm down and I'll talk to you. He won't let me go in. I can't check on him. I need you to calm down. Get out of the way, man. I'm not going to I need you to calm down and I'll explain to you what happened. My dog. I'll explain to you what happened. I was told no one was supposed to listen. Going inside. Okay. I can't have you go inside. I'm sorry. I can't have you do that. Wow. I can't go see my dog. You understand? There's no telling what weapons are in there. I'm sorry. There are no weapons in there. Why? I don't know that, sir. We were supposed to do a property check to make sure everyone was okay and that no one's supposed Listen, no one's supposed to be here. Now you done tell another story. No one's supposed to be here. No one is supposed to be here. The chief is on his way up here. Aaron returned to the property with emotions bursting. His emotions of shock and fury would be completely relatable to any dog lover. It would be a hard pill for any pet owner to swallow to learn that their fur baby had been suddenly executed by an incompetent law enforcement agent. I want your badge number now. 628 628 All right in there. I'm sorry. Came after me. Sorry. Yes. I'm sorry. You think I want to shoot a dog? You think you think I want to shoot a dog? Seriously, you're losing your job for that. You're get Yeah, you're going down. I guys, I cannot have you go inside. I'm sorry. Please do not go inside. Are you going to shoot us? No. It's hard to call out Aaron for deciding to enter the home, even after Officer Savage told him not to. Either way, the damage was done and now everyone was left to deal with the emotional aftermath of a heartbreaking situation. But I was in the living room. The dogs were in the living room with me. The door was shut to the house. The door shut. Okay. Only way it would have been open if it was unlocked. I mean, he knows whether he whether he went in or not. Did you or not? There was a property check. Of course, I went everything was unlocked. It was my job to go in and secure the house. No one was supposed to be here. We got work permits to be here. We're mowing the yard. 5:00. We was told during the daylight hours. That's what we were told. They told us I It's like they didn't tell him either way. 628 secure. Come on, guys. Like, what's what's the real problem here? Like, you can't be in the house while it's messed up. You can't come in and fix the house. Uh, you know what I mean? Like you guys don't want us to have I got a in there Jodie. Does that mean you It doesn't does it? Like I don't have kids. I I wasn't I wasn't blessed with uh you know that that my kids laying in there and there's blood all over the whole house. He shot my dog four times. What kind of bull is that? After an investigation by county sheriffs, officer Savage was cleared of any wrongdoing. They concluded this house had been legally condemned and the owners had missed the deadline to leave the premises. Still, it's undeniable Officer Savage was responsible for an avoidable tragedy on that grim day. US Marshalss and state police dressed in full SWAT gear were in Eerie, Pennsylvania on the morning of March 12th, 2023 to look for a man wanted in the attempted murder of state troopers. Law enforcement had received an anonymous tip that the wanted suspect was staying at the residence of Lance Thornton. Dog. Whoa. Po. Police. What? Police. The going on there. Go here. Just me. Talk to him. You go right there. The hell's going on? Who else the house with you, sir? Mr. Thornton, who goes to the house with you? Who else is in the house? Nobody. No one else in the house. I swear to you right now. Whose vehicle is that? Most students weren't. You guys have freaking guns. Okay, I'm going to pull my phone out of my pocket. Okay, pull my phone out of my pocket. I'm just going to start recording. I put the phone down. We are recording right now. We have our body cameras on. Put the phone down now. Put the phone down now. We're not going to We're not here. I'm being told to put the phone Whose vehicle is that? Whose vehicle is that? Whose vehicle is that? That is my rental car. Okay. Who your rental? Yes. Hey, you got a picture of him? What is going You're not allowed inside. I want to know what's going on. We're going to tell you what's going on. Okay. You tell me right now. Relax. No, this is my house. I didn't get that. Relax. Cops throw around the word relax a lot after causing stress, but it's not easy to be calm when 21 officers show up at your doorstep locked and loaded in full riot gear. The homeowner had every reason to be anything but relaxed during this encounter. No, listen right now. I do not like your attitude and the way you came across cuz I said, "Can I pull my I'm going to pull my phone out of my pocket?" And you said, "Yes." When I said I'm going to start recording, you told me to turn it off. We have our val. I'm going to get every one of these because I do not know what's going on here. Listen, here's the deal. We got a tip that that guy is here at your house. That's why I said this guy's wanted for a tip of three officers. Okay. A tip came in. This guy is staying at your house. Understand? Over the over the weekend. Who are you guys with? US Marshals. EPD SWAT. What's EPD? ED police. Police. Okay, keep going. And PSP. What's PSP? Pennsylvania State Police. Okay. I'm shaking right now. Right now, if this is true, what you're telling me? Yes. I give you full permission, full run of my house. You know this guy, sir. I already answered that question, asked and answered. But here's the thing. There's a reason why this call, this tip was called into the marshals. Okay. There's a connection between you and this guy. As a matter of fact, a link between Thornton and the suspect has never been proven. That's why the judge declined to sign a search warrant for this case. Moreover, it's unclear why the SWAT team felt they had the legal authority to conduct this raid based only on an anonymous unconfirmed tip. Okay. Uh but again, you don't know this guy at all. He's never been at this house. I do not know him. I ask me a fifth time and my answer is not going to change. Okay. The truth does not change. So do your job because you have me so scared right now and so mad. I appreciate that. Holy ambulances, a SWAT truck, lots of cars, and a rude officer. What's the relationship with my daughter? I'll explain how with this go. Okay. Why? This is this is total transparency because the I've just given you permission to walk into my house. I can re I can withdraw it right now. So, you tell me now where I withdraw it. I'm going to draw on this consent. Sir, get out of my house. I'm with drawn consent. I am withdrawn consent. Do you now hear it? You're on camera. They're still moving forward. You want me You want You want to understand? So, there's a tip called in that Mr. Jones was here at your residence. They're still going in. I I withdrew my consent and you guys even knew I could do it. They're still searching. I I already told them out. Okay. Cuz you won't tell me the truth. I just told you. Here's the thing. You can't go back and forth saying you let us in, you don't let us in. I said can I withdraw consent and you said yes on camera? Yes, you can. Yes. And I did I not just withdraw it. So here's I'm telling you what's going on. Right now they're doing an illegal search of my house. It's true that Thornton flip-flopped, but it was later revealed that he had a good reason for being confused and not knowing what to do. According to Thornon, he had been diagnosed with early onset dementia. Sure, he wanted to cooperate with police, but he also knew he was totally innocent. I I told him I have dementia. Okay, I'm 52 years old with early onset dementia. I'm confused. Okay, I asked him to stop the consent. I looked right here and I called you guys and said I would draw consent. I got the stare down though. Let me let me finish my part. Okay. Yes. I'll tell you what. What I did was I asked I withdrew consent after being asked after being told I can withdraw at any time. You continued in this house. It's on that security camera, this security camera, and the one right outside. Okay. Also, let me finish. You You do understand where attempted. Okay. So, no, I understand. But here's the thing. I said outside when I was all confused. I just got woken up. Okay. I'm I'm going to reach in my pocket. Okay, I'm going to grab my phone. Let me finish. Yeah. And we don't want Listen, we don't want you reaching for stuff at that point. You understand that though? That's why we're telling you don't do that stuff, okay? We don't need any more people down here. We don't need you reaching for stuff. And you know, we're on high alert for not you. Okay. At that at that point though, all we want you to do is just cooperate. And you did for the most part. But when we ask you not to reach your pockets, there's a reason for that though. Okay. For your safety as well as ours. You understand that? Can you stop cops flaming to me? It can't be easy to stand up to a large group of officers and fight back against their narrative. He vowed then and there to hold the officers accountable for the illegal warrantless search of his home. Are you going to let me talk to you without you interrupting me? Can you possibly can take a deep breath and not breathe so I can finish talking? Go ahead. Okay. I was outside. I said, "I'm going to reach in my pocket, grab my phone," and that was I asked him and he said, "Yes, that's okay." Okay. My apolog I I didn't hear him say that. Don't go. You can't. Yes, I'm going to shut you. You can't shut up. Okay. Talk to somebody else then. Well, I'm going to be suing you because I will do my consent and you Since the raid, Thornton has been pursuing litigation against the city of Erie in federal court. It's an ongoing legal battle which is still pending as of March 2025 in Evansville, Indiana. Back on June 21st, 2012, a SWAT team was serving a search warrant at the home of a woman named Louise Milan because someone using the Wi-Fi linked to that address have been sending violent threats against local law enforcement. cover. Go. Go. We're here. Front door's open. I'll get it. I got it. Jeff, I'm going to go to the left side. Police department search war. Police department search [Applause] war go down. Strange, isn't it? Instead of simply knocking on the door and speaking to the residents, the immediate go-to move was smashing windows and tossing flash grenades onto the front porch. Apparently, treating every situation like a war zone has become standard procedure. With you, with you, with you. Need one. With you. Just relax. One in front of the couch. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Hun. Get up. On top of your head. Put your hands on top of your head. Got a female right here. I got it. We need one in the back. Need one. Need one in here. Need one back here, guys. Coming out with one. You have to wonder if pointing a weapon of war at an innocent girl made the cop feel like a big strong warrior. She was a kid watching cartoons, but they treated her like a violent crook. Pull the door. I get it. Clear. You want to check these or you think it's worth it? A bad time. I [Music] Hold the stairs. [Music] [Applause] Go. Who's went up? How many you got? A bunch. Okay, I'm going down. [Music] with you. One with you. Hold it. Just hold it. [Music] Just hold it, Josh. I got you. This is clear. All right, there was a cat. There's a cat. Luckily, the officers did not consider the cat a violent threat and let it live. Next, the wannabe soldiers foolishly continued stumbling around the dark basement, fighting absolutely nothing before returning upstairs. [Music] It's just the It's just from the bang. There's no being generated. It's cleared out a little bit since we started. She's not cuffed. I don't have any I don't have any cuffs for her. Go ahead and stand up. This is for our safety. Somebody out front. Explain to you what's going on here in a second. No, we have nobody out front. I'm stand here. You got flip-flops on. Yeah. Unlock that door. Let's walk her out front. Where's Is she going out front, too? Yeah. Anybody on the perimeter? Come up and take two. Does your back door work? Okay. Yep. Let's just take her out the back. You want to risk cut feet up and sand. We're clear. I got a back door. Okay. All right. We're going to take her out the I'll call with you. We know what the coroner's monitoring. It's twisted to think this is what serving your community and country is supposed to look like. This isn't some noble duty. It's a warped sense of morality that spits in the face of common sense and basic human empathy. There's little evidence these tactics reduce violence. If anything, they're more likely to escalate it. We're going to their glasses. We got bad glasses in the front. We're going to take them out the back and walk them around the side. See if you can get out. Dishwasher's been changed. Microwave's been changed. Okay, that's okay. Turn up top. We're going out the back door and then we're going to go around the east side of the house. Get out the front. Get back the top right there. Unlock it. You're going have to step back over here with me. There you go. Okay. Watch. You can you come over this way? Can you come around the front? How old are you, hun? 18. Okay. I know he's on the other side. There's a there's a fence over there. Walk out to the lieutenant. He'll he'll tell you where to go. Say again. They need to be kept separate. Those are my cuffs, by the way. I don't know how many people Jeff thought you were just going to dive and lay on the floor for Well, I know, right? That ram hit a lot harder than I thought it was. It's just It's just glass. 50 lb ram ain't no match for that 10 lb pan of glass. Be funny if it would have bounced off. As it turned out, the guilty individual was a neighbor who had gained unauthorized access to Louise's home Wi-Fi. Louise filed a lawsuit against the police for damages to her property, arguing excessive force was used. She was awarded a fairly meager $60,000 in 2016. The police appealed the case to the Supreme Court who declined to take up the case. On July 28th, 2022 in Pasco County, Florida, sheriff deputies arrived at a home to finalize an eviction that had been served 7 days prior. The problem is they showed up at the wrong doorstep. So they had to clean up the mess they had made for not looking at the correct house numbers. Hello. Hold on a second. Uh we're here to finalize the eviction. It was posted a week ago. It was posted last week at my house. Yes, ma'am. What is your name? Jennifer, what's your last name? Hey. Hey. Is this 47 or 43? Oh, damn. I think it's that one, isn't it? Yeah. Oh, damn. I think it's that one, isn't it? It didn't take long for it to dawn on this group of sheriffs and locksmiths that they had made a dumb mistake. The number 17043 was clearly visible above the garage door. You've surely heard the expression, measure twice, cut once. But in this case, it was more like read never, regret forever. This is 47. Yeah, I think this is 47. This is 43. Huh? This is 43. We're going to have to fix her lock. Change her lock. Hey, we actually we do apologize. We have the wrong house. It's the next door neighbors. What we're going to have to do is we're going to have to they're going to have to repair their locks. I don't know how inside. No, no, we're not going in. We're not going in. Hey, um, real quick. What's What's your phone number? Let me call you. What's your phone number? I will I'm at my mom's house. I will be there in 15 minutes. 15. Okay, we'll be here. Do you have anything that can fix a lock? Put in a work order. Have somebody come out with that stuff. All right, we'll wait for you. I should have checked it. I know. Yeah. Well, that happens. It's a mistake. God damn, man. How the hell did we make any so Yeah, have them Did I put 43 on the order and on the call or it's 47 47? Hey, how you doing? Hey, we uh so it was an accident. We I understand it was an accident. Whose responsibility is it to read those numbers? Uh, it was all of ours. Okay. And what company are you from? Invitation Homes. And what company is that? Is that HOA? Is that a mortgage company? It's a renter company. Okay. Do you have a card? I don't have a card. Okay. We're replacing the lock now. So, we're going to get you a new lock. We didn't touch the bottom. Multiple keys because I need keys for every single person that needs to have a key. I don't know how many it comes with, but how many? It comes with two. I need I need they need to have a key. My mom Okay, so that's one. Me, myself, my husband. Okay. Um my mom. So that's four. His stepmom. So we need at least five. Five. So let's make it seven. Okay. Cuz my husband likes to have extra stuff. Okay. Do you hear that? There's three dogs in there that I can't get to. Mhm. Do you understand? Who Who do I need to take this up with? I am shaking right now because I'm so incredibly upset. Ma'am, it was it was an accident and I understand that. Look what you did. It wasn't a It's not a big deal. It's It's It's not a big deal. My dogs are inside. Okay, we didn't get We didn't go in. The woman's anger at law enforcement for illegally invading her private property was perfectly understandable. Cops can be very intimidating. When they're in the right, they are very forceful. But when they make a dumb mistake, they act like it's no big deal. We didn't go inside your house. We're replacing it. He's going to replace the lock. This is the wrong house. You got your video running? Run it. Why can't you get into your dogs? Yes, ma'am. And I don't know if I lost You know what? Can you go in through my back door? I don't I don't Why can't you use this? Why can't you go through here? Did you already change the lock? No, we didn't do anything. We drilled the little holes on the side of it, but it's still it's still good. We didn't get in. I want something. I want something. What do you mean you want something? I don't know what that means. I want like an apology. We're We're offering a huge apology. I'm sorry, ma'am. There was I think you did mess up that I did. All right. Yeah. Going through my back door. I don't think I locked it when I left. You want me to climb the fence? It was an honest mistake and we do apologize. It's so many of these right now backed up. My number is on the house. Yes, ma'am. You're absolutely right. It is on the house. Nobody could argue with that simple and straightforward fact, and it was a nice mic drop moment for her. She soon began to calm down and explain what she had been feeling when she saw authorities drilling into her front door on her door cam. And I I totally get that it was a mistake, but I hope that you guys see it from a homeowner's perspective. That is totally caught up on everything. And when I have my ring camera going off and I see a drilling making in contact with you and that probably would have solved everything, but we're going to make it right. Okay. Just going to change the lock and then uh all your keys will work. All your keys will work. And that's the lady. You know her? Yes. and she didn't move in. And she had a dog, too. And that's what threw us off cuz she had a dog we heard barking and then we heard your dog barking. I think that's what threw us off. Well, I'm glad we didn't go inside. It was truly lame to shift blame on to the dogs. The situation was more a comedy of heirs than a tragedy. Nobody ended up getting hurt and the property did not sustain any significant damage. On January 4th, 2022 in Denver, Colorado, cops were tracking down a violent offender in a stolen pickup truck, and they relied on the truck owner's iPhone's Find My Phone app to locate the vehicle. Apple software, however, gave the cops the wrong address. All right, boys. We're here. Anyone inside the door with your hands up and you're not supposed to got Oh, no. Come outside. in there. Put shoes on there. Is it a permanent bed? Come out. Is it a permanent bed? Huh? The bottom splits up and down. Slips up and down. Maybe on the first one. [Music] Good.
