An officer with Idaho Fish and Game was on patrol when he made contact with an angler fishing along the Little Salmon River. Good. How's the fishing? Got one earlier this morning. Nice. Nice. So yeah, you do have to you have to take your fish right away. Okay. When I had a paper permit I did that last or two years ago, but Yeah. So um if it if it doesn't put your phone on airplane mode. Some reason. So, here I'll just just go back here real quick. And then uh so you do need to I'm just going to take a picture of your screen there. Perfect. And then go ahead and tag it now. And you you just click on this? >> Yeah, as long as you're right? Yeah. That's what I said. Yep. Just click on that. It's going to put the date in there. So then just hit the river code. You're going to select Salmon River. And then river location. This is where it would have made sense to fill all this out before I came out. Yeah. You're going to scroll down to 20. Uh 20 is uh the Little Salmon River. Yep. And then species steelhead and then just hit submit. Confirmation, thank you for submitting. Say okay. There you are, you're back to there. And then you can just hit go back there and uh Well, why didn't it go up on there for you? Try Yeah, try it one more time see if it Let's hit live river location again. Let's redo it, yeah. Yep, it should say okay and it should come back on once you hit uh once you get to cell service. I'm not sure what this Yeah, so. Yeah, once you get to cell service you can turn your phone back on you you need to uh turn your phone back off airplane mode and then it'll upload when it can. Okay. Um theoretically it should uh it should show it right away. Um Of course we're currently under the sink here actually have a connection. Apologies. Yeah, it's this part has so little cell service that the phone thinks it can send it but it can't. Oh. But it's in the phone so once you hit service then it should do it. But I don't know why it's showing no fish even though you did it, you know? Mhm. So. Yeah, just hit e-tag history. See what it says there. Okay, take it put it back on airplane mode. No, it's it says no you harvested one today. I don't know why that It shouldn't be doing that, so. Um >> There's a lot of things about this app that doesn't work. Yeah, yeah. Or that I don't like about Right. Okay, so. Okay. Well, I mean with the problem with the app I was going to write you a ticket with that. It normally it's always a ticket if you don't have it marked down right away. Um but especially if it's like a one fish limit cuz then you know guys >> just one fish limit? No, it's three it's three. So, no I mean so I mean what's your I don't know if why why you didn't have it marked down or just forgot or whatever. So, uh I just assumed you couldn't do it. I also assumed Right. So, you and so the the the application that that you had to submit it still applies right away. So, uh yeah and next time when you do it if you if you're like this with no service or low service, just make sure when it gets to that confirmation page just screenshot it and that way when it says zero and I come up you're like, "I didn't do it. Here it says confirmation even though it doesn't actually have a confirmation number." So, and we're still working with our IT to get it to work right. So, I don't know what the deal is. It's only $160, not the misdemeanor that, you know, it's like 300. So. That's the That's the cheaper one. It's a misdemeanor to not Not tag your fish. So, yeah. You want to make sure you do that. I almost didn't even buy a permit today cuz I was already When I remembered I had to buy one, we were already in Squamish. What was it? Yeah. What would that have been? Go ahead and just >> If you hadn't had permit, so number one I'd take your fish. You'd be charged with possession of an unlawfully taken fish. Charged for which is a misdemeanor. Charged with fish for steelhead without a steelhead permit, which is another misdemeanor. And then you'd have the barb hook thing again. Nice. So. That's all. Yeah, and the the the and the possession even though they're both misdemeanors, possession of an unlawful fish is is uh there's more penalties to it than just a normal fail to validate. So, yeah. I'll be getting a street Yeah, you wouldn't wanted that. So, just the and the ticket I will give you, it's like just basically a speeding ticket. So, and uh if you want, I'll put the phone number on there so you can pay it over the phone. Oh, yeah. That'd be a I'll add that on there.
