On January 20th, 2025, an officer with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, is on patrol at float 20, a marina that has a dusk dawn rule. Prior to this interaction, he had just issued a pair of crabbers a warning for one undersized crab and for violating the marina's rule. He then noticed individuals at the end of the dock crabbing in the dark. Hello. Not much. Are you down? Are you crabbing? No, I was just with those guy over there. What's that? So not during the nighttime hours cuz this is this is a port of um Westport. This is a marina's property. So they they put that rule on here cuz they don't want people down messing with the boats and stuff like that, you know. But it goes for all like the water is free. You could do it from shore somewhere, you know, but not on the not on their docks. So So hate to say this, but you're going to have to pull all your stuff because you can't be down here after dark, you know. Okay, we can throw everything out and then we'll leave. Wildlife 140 WCOM state westport for can you check to see when the last time the second individual had a fishing license or if he ever had one? Had a current annual shellfish and seaweed license was crab endorsement that expired in March of 2024. Are you guys warm? Yes, sir. Yep. Okay. So, I'm going to not you the other that guy back there. Um, I see that you've had prior fishing licenses, so you know you need a license. So, this is an infraction. It's out of district court number two in Aberdine, Grace Harbor County. Um, it's approximately $99. You can contest it and mitigate it or pay it. There's 30 days to respond. So, please respond. Follow the directions on here, okay, to do whatever you want with the ticket, okay? So, this is an infraction. You You know, this is not a court appearance. This is a This is like a fish and wildlife parking ticket. Okay. Wow. Like Yeah, you can call them. You can call them and set up I mean do as you wish, but you can call them and set up a payment plan. You can pay it all right there. You can do that. You don't have to show up for this. Okay. So there there's that's yours. What's that? Oh. Okay. You're next. Okay. So you are also receiving an infraction for keeping them soft shell crab. Okay. That's a You can't do that. You got to know that. And you've also been cited for this before. Okay, we know that. So, you are getting a court appearance in Monoseno for keeping the undersized crab and for operating too many units of gear. Okay, you when you guys come out here and crab like you can't just take everything you want. That that is not acceptable. That's hurting our crab population. You need to know you need to read the rule book before you come out here. You need to know what you can keep, you know, especially them small ones. I don't even know what you do with them. So, um, your court appearance date is. So, I'm site there's one infraction. It's out of district court number two. That's the the infraction. That's like the parking ticket. You got 30 days to respond. You can contest, mitigate, and pay that. That's the ticket on the back. Okay. That that is the infraction. Okay. That's that's approximately $78. Okay. You got to drive to Monoseno. It's district court number one in Monoseno. You that'll be your court appearance. So just go to court, take care of that. Okay? You'd have to h half of half of the punishment for committing a criminal violation, which that's what these two are that I'm charging you to go to court for, is to come back to go to court.
