involving a new employee who was accused of theft according to the caller this employee had been taking significant amounts of makeup products and other items from her workplace the stolen goods amounted to thousands of dollars indic a serious breach of trust and potential criminal activity ad I don't really have closer I show you what to go unfortunately taking a right okay so you're a female am not going to search you you have anything on you I should know about I'm going take my phone from you all right what's here upon arriving at the scene the officer discovered that the cashier involved would steal hundreds of dollars worth of makeup items just before ending her shift this pattern of behavior indicated a systematic approach to theft where the cashier exploited her position to remove valuable merchandise discreetly 20-year-old female that um um she's been here a month and she um has taken just you know about $1,000 worth of merchandise one handling this I'll have her down here in just a second so here's her statement here's the evidence and she'll be able to talk you through anything if just give me one second be down here in like a minute all right got it I just gave high level overw um what give me the the whole picture what's what's What's happen so she's only been here for 30 days okay we've only been able to prove a th000 something she admitted mhm this adds up to $800 something dollar uh there is some on the third I haven't printed any of those just yet it's on the statement here oh for 215 okay um that was I was able to find out last night and then she admitted to it during our as well okay what does TM stand for T member okay sorry like the Port Orange one and there like they know my AC I'm so sorry yeah I'm uh I write tickets I don't know anything about this no the CCTV footage revealed that the cashier employed a tactic to avoid suspicion by being flirtatious with the loss prevention officer this Behavior allowed her to exit the store with stolen items unnoticed over time her theft escalated to larger and more valuable items such as an air fryer and other household goods basically what she does is she selects a bunch of like makeup clothes food anything she needs MH and then she'll go grab bags put all the merch in the bags and then walks out with it got it they saying the like every day is the fourth the day that you like first saw it and then you like went back on the third and saw the fourth was the day that we were actually going to apprehend her as an external subject until we realized she was one of ours okay and because curiosity kills the cat why wait why wait till now um so I'm at the leader of the store he went on vacation she called out for most of her shifts after so we were going to pull her on Tuesday but she called out and then she called out yesterday but we target for inter internals you have to get three at least incidents to show a pattern so for you guys to stop an employee they have to do it three times at least enough to show a pattern so let's just say this now I'm just asking question hypothetically if if these didn't happen and it was just this what would you guys do with just this it would be up to my like higher up HR I would try would decide what to do with it yes like my level is like here the one you saw running in he's my boss I got you I got you okay um but the person that makes that decision is was out of town or something on vacation yeah so like the actual leader of this office isn't here so we were able to get all this so on the fifth she's in a a different room down there they're doing her like termination paperwork or something like that oh she an employee yes oh I thought she was a custom no so this here says wait is it like agent girl sitting over here Oh Me Oh Thank see by in office is that her no she's all the way in that store director office so we got on the fourth which is this 290 but this adds up to 240 it's pre tax well the total is that minus tax 2 was some on these that we couldn't change the price of cuz the underwear kept going in for four for 18 there's a you're not oh regular price $5 regular and then I believe that uh de the aps here was able to find a couple other the she IED too as well well this this and this add up like 808 or something like that charges right but it doesn't match here because of this this sale so regular price $74 for 18 has NYX Ninja food blender and a facial steamer on it yeah every single one has been close to like 220 now again oh is that a blender is that what she said okay so the blender yeah regular price 69 this isn't my store so I've only been here like the tail end of it m all right I where does it say like for instance if she bought two blenders where would it say that she bought like quantity of two where where it would be right there but that one just has the blender levi shorts in it um the only thing that was different that we were trying to change the price was the underwear from what they told me okay so all underwear yeah and bras she has bras so she bought one one of these one of these one of these one of these one of these but the sale price is that when you do the training receipts they do not allow you to take the sale off do you have them you want interview her yeah she's just sitting in the office she's quick to flee want oh yeah yeah let's do that where she I can walk you guys down there the female cashier offered weak justifications for her theft telling the the Lost prevention officer that she took the items because she was starting fresh after moving into her first apartment this excuse was likely an attempt to elicit sympathy and rationalize her actions despite the clear evidence of her theft no we rather not in I say so we're all in one place can we bring that stuff down there yeah you want to grab that yeah show me which way oh okay sure sure sure I had no idea who it went this far Diamond you do me a favor and just stand up for me okay had no plans to sell the store items and that they were solely for her personal use by emphasizing this she aimed to minimize the perceived severity of her actions and portray herself as someone who was only taking what she believed she needed was UN you took a air fryer it was what facial it was Universal threat Shir I just because it's on video is this all you do work all you work or do you have other things you do like go to school or or you like um I already finished school do we have a um I'm sorry I used to be an engineer and then I see a video for this huh I lost my um okay so we got third you can do a video for it and a receipt for all that yeah I can that um we have the fourth been arrest before no 24197 the total amount you have is over the misor amount so unfortunately we're looking at fing charge so all right on five we have 231 and 284 I mean is was there anything you could do like get a second job or ask for overtime I mean I mean when I'm I needed money to like buy stuff I pick up overtime I've been looking for your second job I got you but I mean if I'm in need a facial is the last thing I want to buy you know what saying what a facial machine whatever the steamer I was trying to make like side things I get it but I mean if I'm in Ser mode I'm buying food I'm not trying to take stuff like that I just got a C for SNAP benefits what is it SNAP benefits was it was it was a good job just okay so if you're smart girl man you know this was bright idea of course he vacation Target v a lot of money and surveillance and less prevention so you're going get caught simulator after reviewing all the evidence including the CCTV footage and the information gathered the officer decided to arrest the cashier she placed her in handcuffs taking this step to ensure the suspect was detained and to proceed with formal legal actions following the arrest the police collected additional information and took the suspect's fingerprints at the scene they then transported her to the police station for further investigation he said they found these items here in the bag and like scanned them all and she made it out with all of them m i was adopted so I don't revealed that a loss prevention officer had assisted her in stealing the items which allowed her to bypass store checkpoints as a result the officer was dismissed from his position and the suspect was
