Welcome back everyone. Today's video comes to us from East Point, Florida. In the state of Florida, redfish are regulated by region. This video takes place in the panhandle region of Florida where redfish must measure between 18 and 27 in in total length and anglers are allowed to keep one per person per day. At the time of recording this video, redfish are open year round in this specific region. With that said, an officer was patrolling the Apalachicola Bay area when he saw two anglers actively fishing alongside a bridge and decided to make contact. >> How's it going? I saw one redfish so far today. Everybody else had sailcats or nothing. >> And nothing. >> It's been a slow bite this week. So, if you got some, put them in a cooler. >> Now, I know it's difficult to see the length in the body worn camera footage, but the fish measured out to be 13 in, 14.5 in, and 15.25 in, meaning they were much smaller than the 18 to 27 in slot limit that's required. >> All right, fellas. So, here's the deal. So, none of them were even close. >> No, we got 14. >> Yeah. And also, you're over your daily bag limit. You can only have one of them per person, too. >> See, I got that regulation book down there and I should have read it. >> Yeah, you need to make sure, buddy. So, I did write you a ticket, okay? >> Okay. >> Um you What's your phone number? That's the only thing I'm missing. That's your information right here, buddy. This is undersized over the daily bag limit and I am taking the fish. That's what I'm taking from you. Um Here's a court's address. Give it about a week. You need to call that phone number and they'll tell you what you need to do. If not, you will have to appear in court by that date. But, you can handle it probably over the phone. Um give it a week. Call that number. I just need you to sign the bottom of this ticket. Sign here. >> And they'll let me know how much it is? >> Yep. Yep. Down there at the bottom. Yeah, we don't set the fine with them. They set the fine, so that's the stack up. Well, um call that number in a week and they'll they'll talk you through what you need to do. But, if you don't have it handled I see it. Just want to handle it by that date. If not, you will have a court date on that date. >> Thanks, sir. >> Yeah, man. Let me get you a copy. But, just pay attention to those regulations, man. They The red fish is something that Yeah, so just Just try your best, buddy. Let me give you this and I'll let y'all get on the way. Well, good deal, man. Y'all just pay attention to that, all right? Be careful. Three red drum returned to the resource. Two. >> All right. So, in the end, the angler is ultimately charged with taking or possessing an out-of-slot red and for being over the redfish bag limit. Unfortunately, the Franklin County Courthouse's website has no information available to us, but we were able to call the courthouse to get some additional information. On that phone call, we were told the case had a deferment, but the suspect now has a warrant out for his arrest after failing to address the charges. Anyways, that's it for today's video.
