An officer was conducting a routine patrol when he observed two individuals hunting for geese on private property. Morning. Conservation agent, how you guys doing? What? Sorry, didn't hear you. What? I'm doing pretty good. Oh, you're fine. Oh, yeah, you're all good. How long you guys been up here? Uh just this morning. Okay. When did you guys set up? Uh we got set up after you. Okay. >> [snorts] >> Have you guys been able to get anything so far this morning? Yeah, two birds. Shot two shots. Well, had two birds. Okay. two shots is that two birds. Good. You don't need the stamp. It's just a conservation order. Yeah, it's Just a conservation order. Yeah, I [snorts] ain't got the conservation [clears throat] order. You guys don't have them? I don't not right now. All right. Okay. So, uh we'll work through it right now. I'll just kind of go up and check out your guys' spread and uh go through check shot and all the other stuff with the guys. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's one of those that uh right now everybody's like, "Oh, well, I got my duck stamp. I got everything else." It's just like, "Hey, this one it doesn't matter on that one. It's just a conservation order. It's a special season that all you need is the one permit." Uh Where are you from? You're from here? Okay. Uh it's Yeah, it's 10 bucks or something. If not, you have to have them labeled. Okay. So, like right now, I wouldn't consider you with the birds. Okay. All right. It's It pretty much extends to like say you're at the gas station and you go in and pick up a soda, come out. That's [clears throat] about the extent of of where it goes where you got to be with your birds. So, like right now you're not with them. All right. I know it's $5, uh permit or something, but it's still the fact of going out there and and you guys have been hunting since the beginning. So, it there's a long time frame in here where really it would be every time you guys go out would technically be a different violation. All right. And so, at max it's going to be one citation. It's just going to be which one am I going to do and stuff like that. Uh Have you guys got both your permits purchased? >> Yeah, I'm working on mine. >> Okay. Yep. Uh go ahead get that taken care of and when I come back we'll we'll get that all worked out. Make sure you guys are good to go so you can start getting uh birds on the ground. All right, guys. Guys, so uh uh right now the way I'm going to handle this one is you're just going to get the citation for uh to hunt with during the conservation order without a permit. Okay. Uh I will let you guys keep the geese. All right. Uh Nope. You guys have been cooperative with me. I'm not going to take food off your guys' table. All right. Uh you guys were also good. You got your permit taken care of so you got no problem to go right back out and uh start slaying birds. Okay. Uh big thing with it is look at the blue sheet. All right. Go on the other side. All right. So, you guys have three options on the on these so that it's just citations. Uh the first one being that uh you can handle it uh online. Okay. The second option, you can handle it by physical mail. And then the third option is to show up to date uh in Everybody has their day in court. Okay. And yours is uh May 21st in uh Maryville. All right. Okay. So, if you But if Sorry, I just got to get through. If you don't handle it beforehand and you don't show up to your show up to your day in court, there will be a warrant out for your arrest. Okay. So, if we pay it online, we don't have to go to court. Okay. Uh so, that's all all I got with it. Uh Wha- What are you needing on it? Okay. So, uh that will all be in the in the mail. Okay, it will come later. I can rewrite it all if you want. Okay. Yep. So, uh whenever you go to if you wanted to look it up online, uh you can look it up by the case number. It will be this number at the top. All right. Uh you guys' numbers are separate so uh and it's two different things with each of you. Okay. So, I don't think you can just look at one another. You can also look them up by your name. Uh but, usually that case number is the easiest way to do it. Uh usually give it a couple weeks. Sure. Cuz I got to write it all up, send it up, it's got to get approved, and then go over uh through the court. Okay. Okay, so I usually say give it a couple weeks before it pop pops up online. Um and then from there you can look at it, handle it. When it comes to the price, I can't I don't know. Okay. All right, that's up to the court to decide. It should be within a few hundred bucks total. Um but, that's still completely up to the court to decide. So, uh I'll give you guys my card. I got to grab them out of the truck real quick. But, um at the end. So, if you look it up and see that it's some crazy number or something like that, um feel free to reach out to me. Okay. Uh and let me know, and I I can contact the court on that side. Uh see what happens on that. Okay. All right. Uh every once in a while, especially with the snow geese, especially when they're like a uh I can imagine swans pretty heavy. Swans, it happens every year. Uh somebody will take accidentally shoot a swan. Okay. Eagles, it's [laughter] going to be one on like, "Hey, they're they're going to be on a pond or something, and then eagle might come down and right as somebody shoots, and Right. You never know what what stupid things might happen. And so, it's usually just like, "Hey, at least it's not a an eagle. Okay, hey, it was just not a permit. Easy day, and we move on from there."
