An officer with Florida Fish and Wildlife is patrolling along US1 in Palm Coast when he observed an individual throwing a cast net in a pond. Non-game fish. >> Okay. >> So, let me get your license plate real quick. I'm almost done. Let's just finish the paperwork and fill it out, okay? I'm just going to I got to type out you're going to get a ticket for the for the bass. And you have an option to pay it at Flagler County Courthouse or you can go to court. >> Uh you can pay the phone? >> Yeah, you can pay over the phone. Uh there'll be a phone number on there, so you just call and read them your credit card number and you can pay for it. You got 30 days to do it. >> Oh, okay. In the uh Walmart in the license. >> Yeah. So, but you're going to get a ticket for the for the bass, right? You still have to go if you want to fish, you can go go Walmart and get a fish license, but you have you can have to call the Flagler County Courthouse and pay the ticket over the phone. >> Okay. >> Does that make sense? >> Yeah. >> Okay. There's any If you got any questions, you can Google Translate it or you know somebody that speaks pretty good English, >> All right. >> you can call and we can I can like communicate that way. I don't want there to be any any issues. You got 30 days to pay for it or >> I'm a uh >> or they'll put it in the system, suspend your license, and put a warrant out. So, if you ever get pulled over, sometimes they'll take you to jail. But, you got 30 days to pay for it. >> Okay. Uh maybe in a Uh right now, uh maybe 5 day >> Probably 5 like in a week. Give it a week cuz I >> week and and maybe I >> And 1 week. Yeah, give cuz I still got to I got to still have to print everything up, turn it in, they have to put it in their system. So, give it a week. I'll circle the phone number and the address for you so you can call or drive to it. >> Okay. >> All right. So, give me like couple more minutes. Thank you. All right. So, there's your ID and and passport back. >> Okay. >> And so, this is your ticket. This is the court copy. If you can sign here, I'm not saying you're guilty, but you'll take 30 days to to pay for it. And then here is your copy. This is your copy for your illegal method of catching those those bass. So, no more no game fish, only tilapia. >> What tilapia? >> Or or catfish or just non-game fish. All right. Thank you. >> In the end, the suspect received a warning for fishing without a license and he was charged with taking game fish by illegal method. He pled guilty to the charge and his adjudication was withheld. He was ordered to pay $223 in costs and fines, which he later paid.
