An officer with Florida Fish and Wildlife was on patrol at the St. George Island boat ramp when he contacted a vessel's occupants. We brought it down here just to test it. Um it took 2 weeks to completely build it from nothing. And then and it worked? Well, at the very back where the top cap sits on the back, it's got some gaps in it that Water was coming in. >> back of it right now. So, I just pretty much just see how it would sit with the new motor I put on there and see how low down it would sit. >> How was it? Pretty low. No, it's it's actually good, but whenever you go to get on it, like I said, with it it being a heavier motor on the back, it all on the back end of it, it just kind of like scoops the water into the back inside the hole. You have been any trouble before? No sir not. All right. So what Not not any kind of resource or anything like that. Okay. So basically what will happen you being the captain is your responsibility. What will happen is you'll get you'll get two misdemeanor citations. You're not going to jail or anything like that. It'll be a notice to appear. So you'll you'll basically get I'll be issuing you a citation you'll have a court date. A lot of times you do not have to come to the court date. A lot of times you can call beforehand and and work something out with the court. So What is the fine like for this? Man honestly with you with you not having any trouble or anything it's I can't give you a price but it's typically not terrible. I mean I just I hate being in trouble man. No no I got you man. I mean like I mean you guys didn't try to hide anything from me you're not you know but you know I got a job to do. I really wasn't paying attention I mean I got you. But I was just like I say I mean me being the So you got you got all your safety safety gear on board. You got four life jackets and Flares whistle Flares horn all that stuff. Okay. Like I say I mean you know this would be so you got undersized undersized and you got possession of oversized so over the slot. Like I said if you hadn't been any trouble before a lot of times you can call the court talk to them and and they usually work something out something out with you. I can tell you I've never seen anybody get truly hammered Um unless they had just a ton of it a ton of resource stuff from us. Um so, again, no jail or anything like that. They They a lot of people a lot of officers down there would like they take resource I mean, not that I don't take resource seriously, but I don't see the need to take you to jail for something like this, but down in the Keys, man, it's a whole whole 'nother ball game. He entered a misdemeanor diversion program that required him to pay $100 in program fees and complete 15 hours of community service. After meeting the set terms, the case was dismissed.
