No, no, no, no, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. YOU CAN'T DO THAT. I'LL give you my license. >> Step out OF THE CAR NOW. >> WHAT ARE YOU DOING? >> Step out of the car now. Come here. >> What are you doing? Doesn't have to be this WAY AT ALL. WHAT YOU'RE DOING. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING, [ __ ] THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING. >> ON APRIL 25TH, 2024, [snorts] what started as a simple checkpoint quickly turned into chaos. A woman decided that a busy checkpoint was the perfect stage for her onewoman show. She blocked a lane, claiming she wanted to protest everything. Officers tried to explain that traffic lanes aren't soap boxes, but she refused to identify herself. Her quest for attention was about to get a very official shiny pair of bracelets. Hi Roll down your window. >> No, it's not. Roll it down. >> I can hear you. >> Well, I cannot hear you. Roll down your window. >> Aren't you sick as [ __ ] That's all I don't have any weapons. Go ahead. >> I'm fine. I'm just smoking pot. I'm just pissed off because of how things are going in the world. I'm 26 years old. Things are not going right and nobody is social. Okay. Do you have your driver's license with you? >> No. I can give you my social. Okay. Do me a favor. Turn off your car. Okay. What's your name? Jimmy. Am I I asked him when I came here. This is what this is about. I asked him where I can peacefully protest. And this is where I ended up. >> Okay. Do you know where you're at? >> Can I go? >> No, not at this time. Okay. >> No. No. I'm asking, can I finish my question? I'm not I'm coherent. I understand you. I know what's going on. >> What's your name? >> It doesn't matter. >> Can I What's your name? >> Can I peacefully protest? >> Where do you want to protest at? >> Right here. >> The scene started with the classic I can hear you through the glass routine. Hannah clearly thought her window was a magical barrier against the law. She claimed she was just smoking pot and felt angry about the world. It was a bold strategy to admit to drug use while trying to sound like a rational political activist. Her logic was already failing. >> Is that illegal? THAT'S WHAT I ASKED him and he couldn't answer me. So he called all of you. >> You can't protest right here. No, ma'am. >> Then can I go back there? >> Sure. What's your name? Okay, that's all I was asking. And he couldn't ask. He couldn't answer. >> Do you have a driver's license? >> He couldn't answer me. >> Do you have a license? Yes or no? >> Yes, I do. >> Get it for me. 32 to 31. Speed it up a little bit more. >> Can I understand? >> I asked him. Give me your driver's license. >> I'm requesting that you give me your driver's license. >> Can I ask where I can peacefully protest and that's all I was asking? >> Step out of the car. >> Hold up. Hold up. I'll give you my license. Stop. >> Step out of the car. >> No. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. >> YOU CAN'T DO THAT. I'LL give you my license. >> Step out OF THE CAR NOW. >> WHAT ARE YOU DOING? >> Step out of the car now. Come here. >> What are you doing? No. >> Come here. Get out of the car. Come here. Come here. >> 3231. >> Give you my license. My license is right here. >> Get out of the car now. >> Can I give you my license? >> I told her I would get out OF THE CAR NOW. GET OUT OF THE CAR QUICK. COME HERE. >> Step out of the car now. See if you can turn off the car real quick. Get out of the car. Come here. Come here. >> Yep. >> The officers tried to get a simple ID, but Hannah preferred to play the victim card. When they finally lost patience and opened the door, she transitioned from a philosopher to a screaming siren. The officers had to use force because she refused to vacate her mobile fortress. Resistance only ever ends one way and she was fast-tracking her way to handcuffs. >> Why do we have to do this? >> Get out of the car. Come here. >> No. Why do we have to do this? This doesn't have to be this way. Come here. >> This doesn't have to be this way. >> This doesn't have to be this WAY AT ALL. YOU'RE PULLING MY CLOTHES OFF. >> Come here. >> You're pulling my You're pulling my clothes off. >> Come here. YOU NEED TO STOP. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING, [ __ ] THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING. THIS ISN'T RIGHT. >> 32. You're not even like doing anything. COME HERE. >> NO, YOU DON'T GET TO TREAT PEOPLE LIKE ANIMALS. >> YOU DON'T GET TO TREAT PEOPLE LIKE ANIMALS. >> CALL MY [ __ ] DADDY. HE WORKS HERE, [ __ ] HE [ __ ] WORKS HERE. HE [ __ ] WORKS HERE. I'm not even doing anything to you. >> I'm not EVEN DOING ANYTHING. I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING TO YOU. >> STOP. >> STOP. >> STOP. TRANSPL. >> Oh my god. >> Ow. Ow. >> What do you think? >> You're fine. Okay. Who are you working with? >> What? >> What do you mean? >> Why am I under arrest? I'm confused. >> I just told you retail theft. Okay, it's not going to change. Okay, retail stop. You're under arrest. Understand? >> As she was being pulled out, she started yelling about being treated like an animal. Ironically, her behavior was making the comparison quite easy for everyone watching. She then tried the ultimate, "Do you know who my father is?" move, claiming he worked for the department. It was [music] a desperate attempt to use nepotism to fix a problem her own mouth created. Oh my [ __ ] god. [ __ ] These these two tight are you okay? >> What? >> They too tight or are you okay? >> I'm okay. >> Throw in your car and uh I got smoke right back. I'll go down. I got you. What? Why the [ __ ] ID? >> Yeah. You got ID? >> Hey, is that uh Is that her? >> No. >> Is that yours? >> No. >> Not arrest. >> Well, you're already under arrest. Can't do nothing about that. >> All right. >> You don't want to go to jail? >> I'm going I'm going unhook this. Okay. >> I don't want to go to jail. You're not going to go to jail, dude. >> How many times have you stole? All right. You got anything in your pockets? >> My pipe. >> Your pipe. You use what? What do you use? >> Huh? >> Colate. Hold on. Hold on. I got >> Man, what the [ __ ] bro? >> How do you guys know I was stealing? >> So, what? >> How did you guys know I was stealing? Uh video. >> What? >> Video? You got anything that's going to bolt me? >> No, I don't want to go to jail. >> Fine. Hey, just calm down. >> You might not even go to jail. >> What do you mean I might not go to jail? >> They might They might just give you like a court court date depending on how much >> But am I going to county right now? >> Do you have a warrant? >> No, I don't think so. >> The reality of retail theft charges finally surfaced. Her [music] protest was actually just a cover for allegedly stealing from a local store. She went from screaming to sobbing in seconds, asking if she was going to jail. It turned out that protesting [music] everything included protesting the idea of paying for items. The store's cameras clearly caught her. >> All right, show off. >> Am I going do you have anything else in your pocket? >> Am I going to jail, though? >> I don't know yet. You guys still got to give me your name and stuff like that. What's What's your name? >> Nothing. >> What are you keeping there? >> Nothing. >> Coke. >> All right. You got anything else on you? >> No. >> Hop in. >> I have fire though. >> You got fires and retail theft? >> Yeah. >> All right, bro. How many you got? >> All right. Just take a deep breath. All right. Am I going to jail? >> Huh? Watch your name. >> Am I going to jail? >> I don't know. We're gonna figure it out. >> What's your last name? >> I'm so sad. [laughter] >> C I C K M A N. >> What is it? >> C I C K M A N. >> C I C >> D I C K M A N. >> Oh, D I C [snorts] K M A N. >> Hannah. >> She kept asking over and over if she was going to jail, looking more anxious with each question. Officers stayed calm, checked her belongings, and collected her information while explaining what would happen next. She panicked at every step, and argued about nothing. It was amazing how little she understood basic rules. Some people really made life harder for everyone around them. >> Hannah H. >> NH. >> What's your date of birth? >> Do you have metal initials? What? >> Do you have metal in this? >> No. I ain't >> bad. >> Am I going to jail? >> Uh, I'm going to take you to the station, but I don't know if you're going to go to jail yet. >> Why don't you? >> Because it could go either way. You get a court. You get a court date. >> Do you have any warrant? >> I'm about to check. You have a check for you. >> Sure. >> My phone. >> No, I'll give you your phone. Where's your phone? >> I don't know what's in my bag. Okay, we'll get it for you. Take a deep breath. >> I'm a paramedic with the fire department. Okay. >> What's your name? >> What's your name? >> Is my dog going to be okay? My parents are down the street. They live down the street. >> Yeah. Can they come get my car and my dog, please, before animal control comes >> answer um the paramedics's information and we'll work on that. Answer his questions. Okay. >> I have two homes, dude. I HAVE RENT MY OWN HOUSE, TOO. I'M SICK OF [ __ ] THAT'S GOING ON AND NOBODY IS LISTENING. I'M 26 YEARS OLD AND I DON'T HAVE A FUTURE. >> I don't want to JOIN THE ARMY CUZ I'M GOING TO GET RAPED IF I DO. >> I'M PISSED OFF. >> NOBODY'S LISTENING. >> Can you calm down? >> No. This is [ __ ] >> This is Nobody's listening to us. >> I'm trying to listen to you. I'm trying. >> My my >> FRIENDS ARE DEAD. >> CAN YOU Can you speak with me, please? >> Yes, but nobody's listening to us. >> All my friends are dead. >> The paramedics arrived to check her mental state and apparently became the new audience for Hannah's performance art. She immediately pivoted back to the nobody is listening routine. Despite several people standing right there listening to her yell, [music] she claimed she had no future at 26, which is a pretty grim outlook for someone who spent their afternoon stealing and getting high in a parking lot. >> And now WE'RE GOING TO GET DRAFTED TO FIGHT RUSSIA. [ __ ] >> WHAT'S your name? >> What's your >> MY FUTURE IS POPPED AND NOBODY'S LISTENING. >> I need you to speak with me and answer some of MY QUESTIONS. THERE'S NO GOOD guys anymore. >> I know you hate me. THAT'S FINE. >> THERE'S NO I DON'T HATE YOU. I HATE NOBODY. THAT'S THE PROBLEM THAT WE HAVE is hate. Everybody hates each other and nobody's listening to each other. >> This gentleman's really trying to help you. You really do. >> I GET IT, BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT. I DON'T NEED THE HELP. >> People need to listen right now. >> It's a protest. THAT'S THE POINT. I DON'T CARE THAT I'M IN CUFFS IF SOMEBODY LISTENS. YES. BECAUSE EVERYBODY ALL MY FRIENDS ARE DEAD. But no, it's killing EVERYBODY AND WE CAN'T FIND JOBS THAT TREAT US RIGHT. >> YES. WHO'S GOING TO LISTEN TO US? >> Then what am I SUPPOSED TO DO? I have no future then. We We need to talk to these guys. Okay. We need to >> It doesn't matter. Why does it matter TALKING TO THESE GUYS IF I HAVE NO FUTURE to look forward to? >> It's time. We're not going to look FORWARD TO >> THAT'S FINE. I DON'T GIVE a [ __ ] I DON'T CARE. THAT'S THE THING. I DON'T CARE. I DON'T HAVE A FUTURE to look forward to cuz nobody's listening. >> You should try your hardest to talk to these people. >> They don't care. Nobody's listening. on behalf of your friends. Stick up for your friends and talk to these guys and call me. >> I feel what he's helping. Nobody's doing anything. You can sit here and look at me and act like you're out, BUT YOU'RE NOT. NOBODY'S doing anything. >> The dialogue descended into absolute chaos as she started ranting about being drafted by Russia. It was a masterclass in deflection. She blamed the entire world for her choices, claiming all her friends are dead to garner sympathy. The paramedics looked like they wanted to draft themselves out of that conversation. Hannah's protest was clearly just a manifestation of a very messy personal life. >> I wor I just worked in a rehab. I was an RA. I understand. I get it. >> Okay. >> It's just like a police officer. >> So, do you understand why we're here? The paramedics? >> No. >> Yeah. I mean, we just got called out here because you pulled up over here. >> Yeah, because nobody's listening. >> Where? Where were you headed? >> I LIVED DOWN I LIVE HERE. >> Where were you going? >> What do you mean? >> Is this your vehicle right there? >> Yes. >> Where were you driving? >> I lived here. >> I understand that, but where were you going? >> I was just I took her to the dog park and then >> your dog. >> Oh, okay. Huh? >> Were you on your way home or you're done with the dark? >> Why does it matter at this point? You're asking me why does it matter? >> I just want to make sure >> because I'm trying to understand what's going on here. I just get called out here. >> Okay. Well, then ask them. >> Who's them? >> I'm asking you. You're the one that Do you make your own decisions? >> What you do throughout the day? I can't take that question. >> You said you're 26 years old, right? >> Do you make your own decisions or does matter? >> Do you have a power attorney? >> That's even a piece of [ __ ] question to ask somebody. >> Where do you live? You live by yourself or with your parents or friends or where do you live? Why do you care, bro? You just got called here, remember? >> Okay. >> Well, most likely we're going to be taking you to the hospital then. >> Cool. >> Okay. So, that's fine. If you don't want to give me any information to work with me, that's up to you, but I'm just here to help you out. >> She acted like every question from the paramedic was a personal attack. Even though they were just trying to make sure she was safe, she felt judged and ignored, turning normal questions into a big problem. When they mentioned going to the hospital, she completely lost it, acting like someone was taking over her life. Her fear and stubbornness made simple safety checks into a huge scene. Some people really make life harder than it needs to be. >> What am I supposed to say? >> You say what you want. You're an adult, so Uh, they're going to they're waiting to see if they can get. >> No, bro. My dad works here. Can I call him, please? >> Well, you're in handcuffs. I'm not a cop, so I'm not. >> Well, can I ask somebody that could get my phone so I can call him and he's down the street and he'll come here right now cuz he works here. They can just take me to jail. >> Oh, they can set my bail for what? What am I getting CHARGED WITH? WAIT, WHY AM I DETAINED? What am I being detained for? Cuz you never [ __ ] told me. You just PUT ME IN HANDCUFFS [screaming] AND NEVER [ __ ] TOLD ME. YOU [ __ ] [ __ ] >> YOU PUT ME IN HANDCUFFS, BRO. WHAT AM I BEING DETAINED FOR? What the [ __ ] dude? of everything except right now. >> Hannah told the paramedic she used to work in a rehab center, which was the most ironic plot twist of the day. She continued to refuse to answer basic questions about where she lived or where she was going. By being difficult, she ensured a one-way ticket to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. [music] She was her own biggest obstacle in this scenario. What the [ __ ] is wrong with you people? SOMETHING'S [ __ ] WRONG WITH YOU GUYS. >> Go [ __ ] yourself. >> There's something [ __ ] wrong with you guys. >> Oh my god. This is sad. >> This is nothing but sad. What the hell? >> Damn. There's something [ __ ] wrong with all of you up here, I guess. [laughter] Damn, dude. It's desperate. I thought it was bad in house. It's just as bad here. This is [ __ ] sad, dude. THERE'S NO THERE'S NO HOPE for us if this is HOW THE PEOPLE THAT ARE RUNNING our [ __ ] treat us. >> No, this is this we're [ __ ] >> And nobody's doing anything about it. You're all just TALKING ABOUT ME LIKE I'M NOT HERE. OKAY. >> Drink anything. Take anything. Have you eaten today? >> Doesn't matter what I say. It doesn't look Look at the mess I've made. >> As she was in the back of the car, Hannah thought the entire world was sad and hopeless. It's amazing how the world looks so dark when you're looking at it through a police cruiser's cage. She complained that everyone was talking about her like she wasn't there, [music] which is usually what happens when you're a legal liability. >> It doesn't matter what I say at this point. Nobody cares anyways. Everyone just thinks I'm crazy. I'm pregnant or whatever. >> RP is going to be at the front desk area. Help me understand cuz I wasn't here. >> This is all [ __ ] >> I was just trying to peacefully protest and this is what happened. >> What were you protesting? >> Everything. >> What am I not protesting? I am 26 and I don't have a future. My dad works on nuclear bombs. >> Yes. >> Sorry. Take your time. But we're >> there's What is What is there to say? You guys all think I'm crazy, so what's the point? Look, look at what Look at the mess I've made. >> Just to get people to listen. Nobody's listening. >> Everyone's just standing around. >> Nice. Okay. >> Hannah wanted to be a martyr for a cause, but she ended up being a cautionary tale for retail theft. She tried to wrap her crimes in the flag of peaceful protest, but it just changed her criminal record. Sometimes the loudest voice in the room is the one with the least to say. [music] In the end, her future wasn't stolen by the world. She handed it over herself for a few shoplifted items in a pipe. Hannah was charged with retail theft, resisting an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her attempt to use a peaceful protest as a cover for shoplifting didn't hold up in court. especially with her history of prior. It turns out that screaming about the end of the world doesn't actually grant you power to dodge from the law.
