You are what the [ __ ] >> On October 7th, 2024 in Ashwabanon, Wisconsin, a man and his girlfriend entered the public safety building to file a traffic complaint. What should have been a routine discussion quickly morphed into a theatrical showdown. Shouting, accusations, and refusal to leave turned the lobby into an impromptu drama stage. How you doing? >> What's going on today? >> Okay. >> Thank you very much. >> What's that? >> Um would you be able to step in and make a formal complaint about >> You did that already, right? >> No, this is another >> You got another police contact or what? >> Whole another situation just with um police contact and um just with regulations being put out I guess on my streets without it being public notice or anything as well. Like I just want to talk about the stop sign, the the recess stop sign that's there. >> Okay. >> Um it wasn't there before and I also talked to Swaban in the city and they said that was no no doicile for a stop sign to be put or even put up. >> We just want to know how the other day he got arrested for supposedly running that stop sign. That didn't >> arrested for it. >> Yes, he did. >> Yes, he did. >> Either way, >> arrested is the same thing in the back of it is the same thing. And our lawyer has explained to us that it is the same thing >> under the fact that it was an illegal stop. It was but um >> so how is it that >> stop ran a stop sign that didn't exist and now a stop sign just appears on >> we just want to really make a complaint >> because the chief requested it be put there. >> But why is that? >> So that uh >> there was no there was no there was no regulation there was no regulations or code guidelines or anything. >> Let's go ahead J. So I I don't understand why you want to complain about a stop sign being placed >> because of the fact that it was we had recording of who was told to put it there personally. The employees that came [clears throat] >> decided to speak with us personally. >> Okay. >> And they were given instructions on to just randomly come put that stop sign there. Right. >> The chief the chief of police my boss directed that it be put there so that >> chief of police your boss. >> Okay. So, is he aware of the arrest and the detain that happened to me? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, he watched the video, correct? >> Correct. Yeah. >> So, after watching the video on me screaming at your your officers for arresting me for the stop sign that's not apparently there, there's apparently now a recess porta potty stop sign on my street. >> A recessed portaotty. >> Yeah, that's what we call them. Um, and because instruction we call them like porty potty but like porta potty signs. basically little small recess stop signs, playground stop signs, like kids that play stop signs. It's not a a legitimate stop sign there. It's literally a >> You're saying it's not a full size normal stop sign. >> It's [clears throat] literally from here to put there personally by the chief. >> And the chief said that it doesn't really make sense to have one dead end have a stop sign and one not have a stop sign. >> There was not one on either of them. And I have pictures to prove that. >> Okay. So just like >> and there's still not one at the other one. So I'm still not understanding how is it that again he left his house at 11. >> The couple argued the stop sign was intimidation. The man insisted he was wrongfully arrested for a sign that may or may not exist. Officers tried explaining but apparently reasoning doesn't survive in this reality show. Every question spiraled into a labyrinth of why me logic. >> 30 at night and was >> I I watched the video. So then why is there any confusion on why we're irritated that you guys can just throw up a stop sign now after you say the village has the right or the ability to put traffic control devices up if they see fit >> and they have the right to just arrest him for making one up. >> I'm not going to argue with you. He was not arrested. Honestly, he probably should have been with the way he was acting. You made threats toward a law enforcement officer which is a felony. >> Sure. >> It's a felony. >> Mhm. Sure. What was What was it before? >> So why didn't he get arrested for that? I don't know why. >> Oh, but why was I in He probably could have been. >> Why was he in front of my house in the first place? Why did he make the U-turn? Why did he sit in front of my mailbox? Why did he make a U-turn again and pull up behind me again after I >> Because he thought you ran a stop sign. That's why. >> Why was he in front of the house before he even left the driveway? >> I don't know. >> You see how like there's no there's no type of clarification or any sensible factors once you get to the point. >> The video shows him driving down the road and making a U-turn. once you saw me and you you obviously seen him slow down and you can probably see him jerk on his brakes too. >> Okay. Do you have something new to complain about? >> It's the complaint about the stop sign that wasn't there before. It's an intimidation thing. >> Okay. >> So, I'm telling you it's affecting me and my personal and also her and we've been asking officers to not park on that street and they've been loving it. We've also >> Okay. Well, there's also other things that have gone on in your street before that you may not be privy to. Okay. >> Well, they should have privied us to it because now Well, that's not my problem because I'm falling under duress to it and y'all are arresting me for no reason because of it. >> We didn't arrest you. >> So, >> I want to know what you think that putting somebody in pickups and in the back of a truck. >> So, the discovery happened attorney you guys already. >> Okay. Is that your the basis of your complaint today is a stop sign. >> Basis of all of it. The harassment that all the police officers in here know what's going on and you guys think it's a but nobody wants to see me outside of a uniform. Do they >> have anything today? >> Nobody. I'm not I'm not >> and I haven't threatened any officer. I said sign a waiver which is an agreement between two people to do something rightfully. >> Maybe I suggest you get a copy of the video then before you start talking. I >> already have it. We have the full video. >> Then you should know you're not being truthful right now. >> I don't give a you're talking about you're not being truthful. >> Your officers weren't being truthful either. >> Kind of a habit. >> Okay. >> Well, they were. >> Yeah. >> So, when this reach Listen, when this reaches the news, understand deputy, what's your name? Do know that what you're saying right now is going to be the news, right? Yep. >> And my mood and what I'm saying to you right now makes sense and you're trying to deny the fact that the stop sign is there to regulate me. >> It's not regulating you. >> What is it for then? >> I already told you we are making it so that it's >> So what was I just the guinea pig? The pre >> keep interrupting when we're done talking. >> Was I the Was I the pre-top guinea pig? >> Was I the pre-top guinea pig for the stop? >> I'm here. You guys like me being here. I'm not leaving until I make my complaint. Arrest your complaint down the hall. >> No, I'm not. I'm trying with you. You have not put out a paper. >> The girlfriend jumped in like a supporting actress on steroids. Threats, complaints, and exaggerated gestures made it hard to tell reality from performance. Officers tried to document while navigating a flood of emotions. Each sentence added tension. While the couple's interpretations of law became almost poetic in their absurdity. >> You have not put out a paper. You have not put out a pen. You have not followed any instructions that we've asked you to do and we've been respectful. However, you keep wanting to cover for your races partners. Keep it up and we're going to sit right here. Take me to jail cuz I want my complaint filed right here or you're going to take me to jail. >> Let's go. >> I asked you for a file a complaint. You have not pulled out a paper. You have not filed out. You've not pulled out any paper, no pen, no nothing. What are you doing? You just sitting here to talking to us to converse. >> You didn't want to bring us back here. You're trying to have this entire conversation. >> Complaints now. I'm sick of this. >> And I asked you to give me a statement. I still >> I've been trying to. You have not written anything down. What statement are you coping? You do you have a very Do you have a great memory, sir? Because last time we came here, we explained it to you and you still are talking about the bull. I'm telling you now, these little mother out here, your little new officers you got on duty. The next time I catch them in front of my house, I'm guarantee I'm going to walk outside. We're going to have a chat and it's not a threat. We're going to have a talk. >> We tried and you're not hearing us. Write the complaint down. I don't give a it's about a mouse crossing a street and it had a blue uniform on. Write the plank. Write it. Because we're complaining about your chief and your employees and your coming to my address and arresting me, pulling me out of my car, my house, and then harassing me and telling me to go back in my house while my car is parked on the street in front of my address. >> Now, your officer made the mistake. >> Heed up and he admitted it. Now, the stop sign is there after it wasn't. Explain to me why are you and your personal chief taking an executive ORDER TO PUT A STOP SIGN there when it wasn't supposed to be there. So now you guys know what you did after your chief watched the video. After your chief watched the video, I want to give you the basis of my complaint. >> After the chief watched the Don't touch. After the chief watched the video turns off the light. >> Now he turns off the light. Angela, let's go >> big baby. You piece of trash. Get the out of my way. Come on. And guess what? When we come back, don't touch my G. Don't touch my baby. Don't touch Let me Let me excuse you. Hold this. Let me show you something. >> If you want to make a complaint, we tried to make a complaint. Tell you how to do that. >> We tried to make a complaint with you. So now what we going to do about it? >> I tried to make the complaint, right? Hold this horse. >> Step out. Step out in the hall. >> I tried to make the complaint with you, right? boat in the hall right now >> cuz I want Don't touch me. >> Don't touch. You can't take me. >> I'm telling you now. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Put your hands back. >> Don't touch me. Put your hand back. >> Don't touch me. I tried to make my complaint. >> I tried to make my complaint. >> I cannot wait to see. >> I tried to make my complaint. >> Can't wait. >> I tried to make my complaint. >> That was bad. >> I tried to make I know I did tell you push me and I said, "Get your hands off me." >> Get down on THE GROUND. >> YOU ARE WHAT the [ __ ] Get [ __ ] off. Come on. Come on. Come on. COME ON. STOP. COME ON. >> WHAT THE >> Get back up. >> Every Uturn and break became a crime scene. Video footage existed, but emotions had priority seating. Handcuffs were inevitable. Yet, the couple treated them as accessories in a tragic comic fashion show. Officers became unwilling extras in this absurd saga. By now, the stop sign was less a traffic tool [music] and more a symbol of highstakes drama. >> Get the off you people. >> Get off of my Get off the Get the Get the Get off MY [screaming] >> I'm th MOVING ON YOUR STOMACH. YOU KNOW WHAT WE'RE DOING? >> Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. >> Don't worry about it. You You're my gun. You want to take MY GUN? LET ME [screaming] TAKE my [ __ ] >> I swear to God. I swear to God. I swear to God, you should let me say something. >> If I want to walk, I'll walk. You guys can't make me walk. I'll walk. My neck. >> Get off my neck now. Walk. >> On your neck. Get off my neck. I'm walking. Get off my neck. Walking. >> Where we going? >> Where are we going? >> Freaking squad car. >> Where are we going? >> Cuz you're done. You're done. Good luck. Good luck. And my girl, you're done. You're done. Step on my shoes again. Step on them again. >> Freaking step on her again. >> You good? >> You're a racist prick. Pull >> racist. You know that you're one racist. >> Yeah. >> One racist. >> Got to settle down here. >> No, I'm good. Watch this. You push me. Watch. You push me. You should have never touched me or my girl you came to complain about your racist ass people and you're mad. You want to turn the lights off on us conversation. >> I trying I was trying to explain you. >> This is exactly the situation. >> Yeah. Go family members. Yeah. Yeah. Go go go. >> This isn't even the first complaint or the second complaint or the third complaint about Ashwaba and they have been harassing D'Angelo ever since I've known him and before I've even known him. He's lived here for almost 3 years and this is constant and I'm here trying to help him. >> Things went downhill fast forward. The guy's resistance hit Max, flipping the whole place into a circus. Screaming, stomping, pure meltdown vibes. Their noise didn't solve a thing. It just gassed up the fire. By that point, the scene was cooked and nobody was walking out clean. [laughter] >> Help him. [gasps] And it's like it's like this is a giant nightmare that we can't wake up from. And the people that are supposed to be helping us are the ones who are doing wrong against us. And I don't understand how to make it stop. So, the reason we're in here trying to make a complaint about the fact that this stop sign just appeared and he won't even take the time to to to make the complaint for us. He just shut off the lights on us and said, "Get out." >> Okay, >> this isn't acceptable. None of this is acceptable. The fact that I am in handcuffs is not acceptable. The fact that D'Angelo is in handcuffs is unacceptable. All we wanted to do is come in here and make a complaint about the harassment. >> Okay. >> So, [snorts] going to jail. Okay. So, I'll be transported to >> Yeah, you have a report with her. >> Okay. Um, so you're going to go to jail for >> for disrolling conduct, resisting, and battery to an officer. >> So, that's where we're at right now. He is also going >> Why? What did What did I do to deserve those charges? Tell me what I did to deserve those charges. I've never been arrested before in my entire life. I came in here today to get help to make a complaint >> and I am in handcuffs now and so is D'Angelo. >> All I can say >> because we asked for help. >> I understand that. So my point of view, all I know is that when I came out, everyone is sprawled on the floor fighting. Okay. So I wasn't there beforehand. All I know is that I helped take you into cussy which is why you're in handcuffs. So I don't >> He was being arrested and you interfered with that arrest. You can't do that. Okay. If you would just stood there doing nothing. >> Stood there and do nothing WHILE YOU WHILE YOU DO THAT TO HIM WHILE YOU WHILE YOU BOTH ATTACK HIM and put him in cuffs for no reason and tase him for no reason. You're kidding. >> So >> would you stand there if your wife was being treated like that? Do you think that you would stand there and do nothing? You'd stand there and do nothing. >> That's where we're at right now. Okay. >> What's wrong with you people? >> You will have a court date to explain your side of the story. >> What's wrong with you people? Go ahead and stand up. >> You break the law, you pay the tab. Simple. All that crying and yelling, dead weight. You can't out talk handcuffs. The lady could holler till her lungs gave out, but the system didn't blink. By the end, their drama wrote its own ending, and the law signed it in bold. D'Angelo was charged with resisting an officer and disorderly conduct. He originally faced two felony counts, including battery or threat to a law enforcement officer and resisting with substantial bodily harm, but both were dismissed or read. Holly was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting an officer, and battery to law enforcement after interfering in the struggle. She was also jailed for 2 days and fined $1,198.
