How you guys doing? >> Good, how are you? >> Good. How'd you guys do? >> We did pretty good. >> Yeah? >> Had a good day. >> Charter or personal or? >> That was personal. >> Recreational. >> Recreational? Okay. You got buckets where we can start putting stuff in? >> Yeah, yeah, I'm right there. >> And then do we have bag limits for anything? >> No, I don't think so. Might as well just put them all on the deck. What? Yeah. We probably got more beeliners than any >> Okay. I hope you all don't mind. I'm just going to be one minute. Is this what you're using for measuring? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Do you want us to unload the whole cooler? >> Do what? >> Do you want us to unload the whole cooler? >> Uh, yeah. Let me measure this really quick. >> All right. >> Gosh, they're about identical. Can you squeeze uh You're short on that one. >> By how much? >> It's 19. >> By how much? >> It's 19. >> That's being 20. >> Mhm. >> Been in the ice for 8 hours. >> They don't shrink. >> All of it too. >> [sighs and gasps] >> That's it? >> Yep. >> Okay. Everybody's got fishing licenses? >> Yep. >> All right. Let's start getting those. >> What? Dylan, I don't float though. >> What? >> You got a ride somewhere? >> I gave you mine first. >> [snorts] >> Can you Can you look up the name? Um, I can. Yep. And then if I can start seeing um boating safety equipment, so I need a life jacket for everybody, throwable device, two fire extinguishers, horn or whistle, and flares. >> You want to climb up to the bridge? >> Can you get it up there? Yeah, I will I will in a minute. >> [snorts] >> straight >> [snorts] >> Then good. Straight or straight. Straight. >> [sighs and gasps] >> Straight. Their eyeballs are so funny. >> [snorts] >> Who hasn't shown me a fishing license? >> What's the rule? >> I said who hasn't shown me a fishing license. >> Me. >> Just you. And then And you? >> I have it. >> Yeah, that's right. Show water. >> How many more do you need? >> Licenses? >> Yeah. >> Whoever was switching. So, she hasn't shown me hers. Did you guys I got yours. >> Guys, where's your Oh. >> Your trigger is short, too. >> Damn, guys. >> It's a little bit, but it's still short. Y'all need to put that in a a spot. >> Can I imagine a stick? >> Yeah. That one's good. Obviously that one's good. Obviously this one's good. All right. Y'all know What is it? >> It's a scam. It's a scam. >> It's weird coloration on it. He's good. Okay. And so this one's short and this one's short. >> Well, surely if we're still 10 in. >> Not even that. >> It's worth worth a warning maybe. >> It's 19 to 20. We're at 19. >> The what? >> You said it was 19, right? The gripper. >> Yeah, the gripper's 19. Um so I need to see your license or license. Your license. >> have the license. You can look it up. That's my the number on it if you need that. >> No, it's in there. >> That's my name. >> It says valid there. >> Okay. >> 23 to 24 versus you're good. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> I also have to write my name. >> That's fine. >> I'd say if you give us a warning, I promise I'll move that measuring stick to a place where you can lay it down right. And you. >> And then I just need her stuff, right? >> I got it. I already gave it to you. Thank you. >> So I need to see your 600 okay. Yeah. And then you said the >> to go up? >> Yeah, you said all the boating safety gear is on top. Okay. >> You need you need to see two fire extinguishers. >> Either like the big one or two of the small ones. >> There's a big giant one in the engine room. >> Perfect. Yeah, I'll look. >> There's one on the sink, one on the sink there, and one on the sink in the bathroom. And there's I mean we got the fire boy system in there if you want to go in. Write your name and date of birth on there and this and where you're from. Where you license at of. though? >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> All right. So, I need the registration for the boat. Is that upstairs too? >> Uh [snorts] I'll get with the captain, but there's fire extinguishers under the sink here and if you need to see a second >> Yes. >> There you go, ma'am. >> Okay. >> One there, too. >> Okay. So, and then upstairs for the boating safety? >> The all all of the lodging. >> Okay. >> One in the back there. >> Hey, second band-aid. I got a slit on my finger. >> Oh. Yeah. So, how many people we have on board? >> Hey, Darcy, give me a head count of everybody. How many people are on the boat? Hey, you got a band-aid? >> Eight. >> Eight? >> Oh, small boat. >> Do what? Nine? >> [snorts] >> Nine. >> Hey, Brian. >> Hey. >> Look, I got a copy of the documentation and the >> She can hear you. >> One, two, three. >> [snorts] >> Nine. And then you have a type four throwable? Okay. You want to >> Check in as well. >> Come. >> I don't think I have one on here. >> Okay. You got flares? Are these the flares right here? >> Flares there. >> We got to open it, okay? >> Yes. >> Just we got to make sure that they're not expired. Okay. So, you know >> Yeah. >> You got this year. Yeah. Um I would keep it open anyways just so that it, you know, if there's a actual emergency you get to it pretty quickly. All right. So, I got life jackets, the flares, um horn or whistle. I'm sure you got a horn up here, right? >> Yes. >> Okay. No throwable device. I saw two fire extinguishers. >> Uh-huh. >> Um Okay. >> You know, listen, I thought that I may copies of all of it and gave it to him, but I may not have. >> Of what? Is the registration up here? >> Yeah. Scott. Scott, you got a registration there? >> No, it's at the house. I've got documentation at >> But at the house? >> thought that I had put it on here. >> We'll run it. You got a driver's license? >> Yes. >> Damn. >> Listen, we we just re-measured those fish and we're a quarter short. Is there any way >> I'll measure them again. All right. So, you're missing a throwable device. Okay. The throwable device. Um you're missing that. And then your registration. Okay. And then the fish. So, I'm just going to hop on board really quick, separate, and then I'll come back, okay? Excuse me. >> Yeah, we're going to measure those on there. >> All right, we'll be back. Red is 20. >> Yeah. >> It's at 19. I don't know. >> They're at 6. >> Trigger is about 1/4 in short. >> Okay, how's it What's How short is red? >> And the red, I think it's about the same. Let's see. They have their thing like super awkward, like on the lid on the inside, so it's hard to measure it. Um So, it's >> an inch short. >> It's about [clears throat] 19 and 1/2, I would say. Right there. So, about 19 and 1/2. And then they're missing their throwable and their registration. >> They don't have current registration? >> Well, I mean, I'm sure it's current. They just don't have it on the boat on the boat. So. All right. So, like we talked about earlier, you have two resource violations, and then you got two uh boating safety violations, okay? You don't have your throwable device, you don't have your registration on board, and then you got two fish that are undersized, okay? Um I'm >> I'd like for you to measure those fish on your measure board so I can take a photo. >> I already took a photo of it. >> I need to take me a photo. I should have that right, shouldn't I? >> It's going to be on the report, and it's public record, so when I get done >> I need to measure >> an opportunity to to video >> You can look at the fish. It's undersized. You measured it and you said that it was undersized. And you said it was undersized. >> quarter inch short. >> Okay, so it's a quarter inch short. Is is a quarter inch short or no? >> I agree with that right now. >> So, let me finish. >> your picture shows, does it show a quarter inch short? >> Yep, it's actually a little bit more than a quarter inch. The grouper is. That one is a quarter inch. >> You're not going to let me measure that. >> When we get done talking, if you want to take a picture, but the report's going to have the picture I took, okay? So, you're getting a citation for the red grouper, you're getting a warning for the trigger, you're getting a warning for the registration, and you're getting a warning for the throwable device, okay? >> Do you all have business cards? >> No, sir. >> Are y'all names on this report? >> Her name is on the report, yes, sir. This is yours. This is your warnings. This is the court copy of your citation. By signing, you're not admitting to guilt. You're just saying that you're going to comply. And that means you're going to show up to court whether it's to pay for your >> I'm going to comply. Three warnings on a violation, I don't think that's fair. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> So, the court date is on the bottom, okay? >> Is mandatory court date? >> It's mandatory court date. Um >> You can call them and give them about four or five days. You can call over the phone. You can You can plea over the phone or whatever. You don't have to go to the court, but you can plea over the phone, but you got to do it before that date. >> Okay. All right. >> No, miss it. Three out of four, I think that's fair. >> I mean, we could have sat here and wrote you for all kinds of >> hundreds of fish that we've been in up through that. >> All right. >> We appreciate it. So, on the bottom of your citation, April 24th at 8:30 a.m. If for whatever reason that date doesn't work for you, call them before beforehand and they usually work with you and change the date if you need to. >> I'll call them today. >> Okay. Um but it's not a monetary fine because I don't I don't I don't set that up. It's the judge. >> Okay. All right. Do I get this? >> No. >> I I don't I don't need this. I don't need to see it. >> Okay. We're good. >> Yeah, what do you do with the fish? We actually return it back to the resource. No, it's 19 and a quarter. >> Yeah. Yes. >> It's sure. >> Yeah. >> 19 and a half. >> 19 and a half, really? But yep. Do you have any questions for me? I get Yes. Um do you have your >> Turn it back to the resource. >> Do you have your driver's license? >> Pardon me? >> Your driver's license and I give it back to you. And then we don't have anything else. We don't have a registration or anything like so. All right. We're good. >> All right. Thanks. >> All right. >> In the end, the suspect was charged with possessing or harvesting an undersized red grouper in or from state waters. Unfortunately, we cannot locate any court records from this case. This could be a clerical error from the court or it may have to do with the fact that the charge was specific to state waters and the fish may have been caught in federal waters.
