Welcome back everyone. The first thing I want to address is are we back yet? The answer is not really. The earliest that we can reapply on the other channel is August 17th. So in the meantime, we're just making some videos here and there. However, we are still continuing to request and collect videos from different agencies across the United States. So we have a lot to look forward to. Today's video comes out of Alaska. In Alaska, anglers are required to record their catch before leaving a fishery. Now the recording is be done on a piece of paper or through their app, but it is something that they do require. In this video, an Alaska state trooper makes contact with anglers leaving the Kenai River dip net fishery after a successful day of fishing. >> Hey guys. How was it? >> Good day. >> Good day? >> Yeah. >> Everybody limited out then? >> No. >> No? >> No. >> Huh? >> Yeah. Three households. Yeah. >> Yeah, three households. Yeah, that's hard to fill a limit. I've been on one of those days where you have three households and then we're all just cutting fish about a hundred of them in a night and it's makes a long night. >> Yeah. >> Cool. Well, I imagine tails are all cut. I see a lot of blood on deck. >> Yeah. >> All right. Uh fish here or >> Fish in the back. >> All right, cool. If you can just hop. All right. Can you just snag one out for me? Tail's cut, beautiful. And just >> Hopefully might have got one. >> Just Either that or yeah, it's the top one you cut, right? >> Yeah. >> No, it's the >> [laughter] >> I don't know if those are cut. >> All right. Thanks. Excellent. Well, and then other than that, just uh three household permits and fishing licenses and I think I think we're good. >> All right. How many you guys catch today? >> Um, I think around 40. >> Yeah, I think Yeah, 40 45. >> Whose permit did they go on? >> Uh, well, ours is 35 and yours has like 65, right? >> Well, you guys are several miles outside the fishing grounds. >> Oh, you got to throw that on the fishing log? >> Yeah, before they get above the bridge. Okay, you're good. >> Mhm. >> So, nobody filled anything out? >> Well, yeah, but I did bring a pen. >> I know you cut the tails. >> This is our first time defending. >> All right. First day out for you, sir? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I mean, like our first time ever. >> Ever? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I mean we did today. >> Okay. And Cuz yeah, you have 10 11 and then just not today recorded. So All right, keep on me. >> Yeah. >> Here's that back. So, we got three households. Nobody recorded. Who Who's the senior most fisher household? >> You. >> That's you? Are you the captain of the boat? >> Yeah. >> All right, so here's what It's a $100 citation. I'll get two household warnings instead of $300 worth of citations for not having it marked. Captain the boat, he'll pay with a hundred dollar citation. For not marking it. All right. Yeah, but you're well well above the bridge. So, we'll give you your two household warnings instead of three citations all together. Just cut one. >> Appreciate >> And take you guys work it out with him. All right? >> Yeah, definitely. >> I'll I'll need your ID and just let me check your permit. And >> You do it from this corner of the lake? >> Yes, you can. >> Okay. >> Yeah, like this app. >> You still have that? >> Check this out. Record harvest and he could slam it in right as we were talking. But he's a little more honorable than that, I suppose. So, um that's what we'll we'll do. All right, guys, you guys work it out with him. So, it'll be back with a citation with you. >> All right. All the fish that we caught before we leave the fishing area. >> Yep, just like the tails. The tails get caught before they're concealed or leave the fishing area. And then the the scorecard, the >> [clears throat] >> the upper cooking and personal use permit scorecard is a lot shorter. Um needs to be recorded. All right. >> It's just like a gift bag before you leave. >> Oh, okay. >> Mr. Is everything still correct here in Kootenai address? >> Yes. >> And All right, I'll be back with you in a moment, sir. >> Yeah. I mean, just fool around the house. >> Yeah, no. Do do what you guys got keep got to do and I'll get your stuff back to you guys. All right. I know you had the app, you could have just quickly smashed that button. I appreciate the honesty. Like I said, it's a hundred dollar ticket, twenty dollars surcharge, total of a hundred twenty dollars is payable at the Kootenai Courthouse or you rip this thing in half right around here [clears throat] and you you keep the top copy and then you can mail the bottom copy with a check or money order to the Alaska court system or you can go to the courts.alaska.gov and pay it online. So, that's that's what I have. >> Yep. >> So, thanks for taking them out and just just remember before you cross that bridge have have everybody on your boat document what you guys took. >> That's it. >> All right guys, fair enough. >> Yep. >> Well. >> In the end, one angler received a non-criminal citation for failing to record his catch. The cost of the fine was $100 and there was a $20 training surcharge bringing the total to $120. Now, in what is probably a record for this channel, he paid his fines 3 days after the interaction took place. Through the officer's discretion, only one of the anglers actually received a citation. Maybe the others helped out with the fines, I don't know. Anyways, that's it for today's video. Thank you all for your support. Thank you so much for watching. We appreciate all of you. Have a great day. >> [music]
