Agents with the Missouri Department of Conservation were on patrol when they observed three anglers continuing to snag from a boat when two already had their paddlefish limit. >> I I didn't shoot that for real. I swear >> it looked like you missed. >> I think you missed. >> You should have shot again because Jimmy, >> how are you guys? >> Good. So, hey, conservation agents. >> Yep. >> All right. Looks like y'all caught some fish. Who all who caught Who caught what? Here. >> We got five up there. He's there. Over here. >> Okay. >> So, who's who's the two back ones here? >> Those are yours. And whose are the top front left? >> Those are yours. Front left. >> Front left. >> You got one? >> I'm the sorry guy that's only got one. >> How long you guys been snagging today? Uh, since daylight. >> Daylight. >> Have you guys been snagging in years past? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. We'll look at everybody's fish and fishing licenses. >> Guys been busy. >> Hey, you like the 200? >> I like this boat a lot. >> I just ordered for just hold it. I don't want to hold your phone, but I'll say I just ordered a 240. It'll be in about a month. >> We've checked a couple of those. I like this the room in the back of it. Is that one your smallest fish? >> I think I can scan it and pull it. >> If you can bring up that uh better fishing this year than we've had in a while. >> Yeah, >> to be honest. >> Travis. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. There's your hunting and fishing about March 1st. Which two were yours, Travis? >> These two. >> These two are. >> Yep. >> Would they measure? You know, >> uh, they're well over. >> Did you measure them or you eyeball them? >> Well, yeah, we have throw one back. >> I'm getting calling me. >> Um, >> I think they got something going on. >> Yeah. >> Hello. Okay, buddy. Take care. Good luck. Bye. possible drowning at the TT is what they're working on. So, yeah. >> Uh, so we got to address some stuff, guys. So, once you two are done with two fish, you cannot snag it. >> Can he not help set a rod out? >> No, you you can't touch nothing. >> I was going to say cuz >> So, we we watched you guys actively snagging and you can't do that. >> Oh, you can >> cuz he he passed me a rod. Well, I also saw you live scoping, too, just a bit ago, and you already had your two fish, right? >> So, >> it's it's a it's a daily limit per person. It's not a it's not a hour limit for the boat. It's two per person. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Missou's no party anything. You can't help each other like you everybody's got to get their own fish. And especially on spoon bill, um it's it's um rule that's been around for a while. That's why I was asking how long y'all been snagging and stuff. I like I said I honestly I've been doing this in a little bit and I didn't know how the way it was. >> It is. >> Yeah. So he would be the only one that could be >> and we could only one ride. >> Well no you could have as many as you could handle but we can't be back. >> Well no I mean just he needs to do everything you guys can help net but as far as trying to get the fish it would just need to be you doing stuff. Um and then you of course you can drive the boat. It's just trying to you get the fish. >> Okay. So even if I I'm good. what we've been doing. >> Can they they can they can >> you know how many times I've had other people reel in holes and catch fish. >> Yeah, that's what's so hard about it. So you're better off with one. They try to give me instead of running three, we should probably just keep the two. That way if I do hook up, I could keep away from the other one and got >> I'm kind of new to it. So I' I've been out a couple years and nine times out of 10 I I snag on the river, Missouri River. Yeah. So, we worked a lot having a couple rods like somebody pulling up there. It It just needs to He needs to do everything. >> It's just him. Yeah. >> Like you said, if you're reeling in, you can hook up. Yeah. A lot of it has to do with the method because you know, you got better hooks in the water. >> And and that. So, any chance you can catch a fish, >> I understand that. I didn't even think of like and we're we're strict on that, guys. So, it'll be a ticket for each one of you. Um, you guys have driver's license and we're not mad at you, but like I said, we just got to enforce it. >> I 100% get it. >> Okay. >> I'm gone. I get you. >> Everything current on here. >> Yep. >> All right. Exc springs. >> Is your lost on? Yes, sir. >> How do Ray County? >> Okay. >> What happened? All right. >> Just say you need me to hold on while you guys >> you guys can hang out. We're going to probably go park somewhere so I don't >> right. Well, basically it'll be you get a ticket for attempt to take over limited paddle fish. So snagging after you have two, >> right? How does that pull my fishing license or anything? >> Not unless you got a bunch of prior. It's a point system just like driver's license. >> We'll be back, guys. >> Yeah, you can you guys can hang out. He He can keep trying to get a fish. >> All right. >> Yeah. >> We're just taking a picture of your fish. >> Oh, hell. >> Yeah, please do. >> How do you like that motor? >> It's pretty sweet, honestly. >> Can you How shallow can you guys run? >> Two inches. >> Yep. >> Got to be going fast though, right? >> Yeah. If you got to be on plane, at least run. >> Okay. Yeah. We'll give these back to you. Garren, here is your ID back. And here's your ticket. >> I'll let you explain. >> Yeah, each one got got a ticket for basically still attempting to take paddlefish after having your down limit. >> Um, each one of those you can take care of through the mail after looking up the fine amount on case. >> Um, you have any idea what it is? >> We can't tell you. the courts don't let us uh cuz they can change a little bit and there could be a little dollar fee here or there and we don't want to tell you wrong. But there's a blue sheet of paper that tells you exactly how to take care of it if you want to deal with it that way. Um >> yeah, we wrote the court's phone number on there if you have questions after the ticket's filed, which it take about 2 weeks for the ticket to be filed. After two weeks, then you can get the fine amount. And then if you do want to pay it on online or through the mail, you can do that, right? >> Or if you did want to come to court, you could. And your court date is uh I think it's May 13th. And back here in Warsaw, if that makes sense. >> In two weeks, you got plenty of time to lose it, right? You've already given it to us, so might as well joke about it, right? >> If you lose it, the court will send you a subsidance by mail. I've had that happen. I'll be you guys. >> Oh, >> not funny. >> We lose our end. >> Yeah. >> Not funny. >> No. >> Yeah. Here's what it says on Lake of the Ozarks and his tributaries. That's where we're at. >> Right. >> Oage River below US65 or US 54, Table Rock Lake, and Har Truman, which is like up there and its tributaries. No person shall continue to snag, snare, or grab for any species after taking a day limit or two paddle fish. >> Any species. So that that can be. >> Yeah. Yeah. You couldn't basically now if after you get your fish, you can actually crappie fish >> or you could catfish. >> I was just cuz that's what I was curious for is catfish. Norally like see. >> Gotcha. It doesn't list the Missouri River though. Right. >> So, um >> Oh, I see what you're saying. >> I could snag. >> Gotcha. >> Got you. Got you. Got you. >> No, no, no, no. I get you. I get you. Yeah. Does that make sense, guys? >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. We work it a lot. >> But like you all said, you get your daily living. >> Yeah. Snagging needs to be done for that person. >> And then >> if we took them back, picked him up, didn't we came out, you still can't snag because we know we don't have them on the boat. >> Yeah, we cut our daily. >> It'd be the same thing as if you caught your daily limit of crappie out here >> and you >> I mean that'd be double dipping basically, you know. >> Got you got See, I didn't know it said I didn't know it any any >> Yeah. Well, the Yeah, because this is one of the methods where you could catch a non-target game species, but >> it's kind of like that's why you got to have a turkey tag during turkey season even though you're cow hunting. >> You got to use turkey method, too. But yeah, >> is that >> that way somebody can't say they're cow hunting or they're turkey hunting? >> Does that make sense? You guys clear on everything? >> I appreciate it, guys. Y'all be safe. >> Thank you. In the end, each angler was charged with attempting to take or possess over the limit of paddlefish. Each paid $299 in cost and fines.
