What happened? >> Hey, careful. >> What happened? What is this car? >> I still have a cage. >> The moment cops approached, the energy screamed, "Something's off." The woman fidgeted, reaching into pockets like she was auditioning for World's Worst Magician. When officers told her to step out, she played clueless, pretending she was just looking for her glasses. Sure, because people on crutches always stash glasses in mystery pockets. It didn't take a detective to see this stop was about to turn into a narcotics discovery episode. >> What's in here? I see a lot of bunch of stuff in here. The woman tried acting calm, blaming dog bones and tweezers. Classic move. Blame the pet snacks. But cops weren't buying it. The officer's face said it all. He'd seen this kind of amateur hour a 100 times and it always ended the same way. >> Uh, what are you guys on or what is in the vehicle that we're going to find? And again, you've been ready to ride. You don't have to talk to me if you don't want to, but uh, I have all the tests in the world. I wonder. This is just where she was reaching in here. She had a bag in there. So, I saw I saw you searching have to get the uncle one, bro. I would have to go to and get to go the uncle. Um, we can search him. We got a fuel a green pill inside the news uh cigarette. >> Okay. I haven't been over there. I've been with the female. >> I'm just I'm just finishing up with the surgery real quick. >> Thanks, get him. that if he's good. >> Yeah, we asked him and he just kind of looked him over. >> Then came the real treasure hunt. Inside the car, bags, pills, and mystery packets tucked everywhere. One officer found a green pill hidden inside a cigarette. The passenger looked lost, probably wishing she'd ubered instead. The scene screamed Cape Coral Chaos at its peak. Two people, one busted TV, and enough confusion to make you question reality. right there. >> Let them check out. >> Hey, do we search her? >> Hey, do we uh do we search her completely? >> I searched her completely. She's in the back of my patrol. >> She's cross. >> She had I'm done with the car for the most part. I was just going to go help them out, but uh I was done without car. >> Yeah. So, this bag >> just that that uh that black bag that she had on the on her. >> No, she thought there was no way she put it in there. So we still need to test where's that property bag that had that right there in my seat. They know what vehicle I took picture of the inside of. >> I took pictures of the inside. >> I want them to know what vehicle I took a picture of. That's all. By the end, the car looked like a crime scene meets a garage sale. Officers found evidence bags, drugs, and leftover dog biscuits used as fake coverups. Cape Coral might be used to strange arrests. But this one, it proved one thing clear. If you're hiding something, don't act like you're starring in your own crime show. Both were arrested for possession of narcotics and tampering with evidence.
