from an officer in Peculiar Missouri who was texting when he struck this cyclist and a tow truck in Ohio that took this driver for a wild ride to a runaway tire in Pennsylvania that definitely caught these officers by surprise and a sheriff's deputy in Texas that survived after crashing into a speeding train here are some of the craziest police accidents and mistakes caught on camera everyone knows how dangerous texting and driving is there isn't a message in this world worth sending or reading that's worth someone's life yet people still do it take this police officer from Peculiar Missouri for example it was around 6:30 p.m. on July 26th of 2018 Joseph fanello was out riding his bike when he came to a stop sign at an intersection he looked right to see a peculiar Town police officer heading toward him unfortunately the officer was distracted Ed by a text and took the turn a little too [Applause] sharply who you mother why the you looking at your phone officer we got to texting another officer give me a second you all right why were you texting I don't care if you're texting I was I wasn't texting I was looking at my phone either way yeah I know it was my bad why are you doing that in a turn I I I wasn't pay officer holy dude I can walk uh how's my arm look your arm's fine how about this one you're fine I there no there's no no braak that's the only bra you got right there thankfully Joseph only suffered a few scrapes and bruises his $5,000 bike however was totaled they offered to take him to the ER but he ultimately refused the treatment to avoid a conflict of interest Missouri State Police arrived to handle the scene and file an official report in the end officer Charles Wallace was suspended with pay for distracted driving Joseph offered an update in October of 2018 he said the police department's insurance company was stingy about how much money they'd give to him for a new bike thankfully a local shop saw the footage and gave him a fantastic deal on a new ride in his words they bent over backward for me it's unclear what happened to the officer according to One Source he's no longer employed by The Peculiar Police Department Midland Texas is a small City between Odessa and Big Spring it's home to about 132,000 people and a sheriff's deputy who is lucky to be alive it was May 21st of 2021 two sheriff's deputies and different Cruisers were responding to a baby in distress call concerned for the child's life the they raced through red lights and stop signs only to be stopped by a slow moving train they inched as close as they could to get a jump once the train passed unfortunately it wasn't the only train passing through Midland that [Music] afternoon oh my God oh my God oh my God stay in the car stay in the car our camera woman continued praying As Good Samaritans rushed over to help the deputy from his wrecked car thankfully he only suffered a few minor injuries and made a full recovery at the local hospital as for the baby in distress other deputies responded to the call and trans transported the child to the emergency room Chief Leonard Guida of the Bradley Beach Police Department might be the world's worst boss according to a report by the prosecutor's office in Monmouth County the now ex-chief used to ridicule hurl expletives at and physically acost his employees you might know him from the time he showed up drunk to a DWI in Bradley Beach New Jersey it was November 9th of 2023 Sergeant William major was responding to the scene when Chief Gua showed up in plain clothes he began a costing Billy for his jacket that's when sergeant major smelled the alcohol on Guida's breath and decided he was sick of his boss's [Music] Games first of all why you got to jacket on the the Stu [ __ ] to be wor what's on the back of it what do you mean look at to tell me what's on the back of it oh it washed off yeah then get rid of it okay that's ridiculous Sergeant forgot okay chief let me work this DWI okay come you're relied no no no no Billy you have to understand something you're relieved Billy you're reliefed go in the headquarters and wait for me yes I might crash no no Billy you're relieved I have officers here right here they can get waffled cuz my car is blocking it Billy you're relieved no Chief no Billy please Billy don't you're suspended Billy I'm suspended yes okay I'm spend I'm going home all of this started because the letters on the back of Sergeant Major's police issued jacket were slightly faded apparently this was the end of the world for chief Guida it didn't matter that Billy was in the middle of a DWI stop that jacket had to go an internal investigation determined that sergeant major did nothing wrong Chief Guida was drunk as a skunk when he showed up unannounced and had no right to put his hands on a subordinate they also determined that he lied when he claimed he hadn't had anything to drink ultimately Guida stepped down from his position as Chief a title that came with a cushy $200,000 salary for 20-year-old Cameron Jenkins April 15th of 2019 was getting off off to a bad start he had just gotten into a minor fender bender while heading westbound on i71 near Cleveland Ohio an officer arrived on the scene and spoke with Cameron about the accident meanwhile the officer's body cam recorded a tow truck driver as he hooked Cameron's car up with him still inside with the push of a button Cameron's day went from bad to unbelievable you can see the driver wiggling between the tow truck and the concrete wall then without warning Cameron's car starts going up and up and up our officer backs away and watches Cameron's car flip into the highspeed lane thankfully nobody was coming or else Cameron would have been toast Cameron said nobody ever asked his permission to hook his car onto the tow truck he was simply talking to the officer and then the next thing he knew he was staring up at the sky meanwhile the tow truck driver claims the buttons to lift the boom had been sticking recently management allegedly knew about it but hadn't fixed the situ situation still it's unclear why he decided to lift the truck while Cameron was still inside according to Cameron's lawyer he suffered a severe concussion that still has lingering effects today in the end they sued the towing company for $50,000 bar PM is an lgbtq plus bar on South Broadway in St LS Missouri it's owned by two men who Pride themselves on running a neighborhood bar that's welcome to everyone in the community on December 18th of 2023 around 12:30 a.m. owners James and Chad were closing up shop when they heard screeching tires and a loud bang outside the next thing they knew a police SUV was crashing through their front door two street cameras captured the incident the First shows the officer screaming through an intersection and then crashing into the corner of the building the second angle shows the officer blatantly running a red light without his lights sirens on now this is where the story should have ended the officer should have apologized and the City of St Louis should have paid for any damages but that's not what happened Chad one of the bar owners was understandably upset after all a car had just crashed through his livelihood he didn't appreciate it when one of the officers asked to see his ID this escalated unnecessarily and the officers placed Chad in handcuffs you're not no that's not how it works dude good night you hit the house dude write a report you cannot he can yell at you it's called grieving not yes you can arrest him I'm not cusing because you just drove let him arrest you dude hey hey that's a you're good dude you didn't break the law they just open themselves up to a lawsuit out you guys just open yourself to a lawsuit dude what what crime is he expected of committing he's creating disturbance obviously disturbance he's talking according to reports two rookie St Louis officers were in the SUV when it crashed into the bar car the driver claims he came too close to a parked car and swerved to avoid it then they told another version of the story where there was a dog in the middle of the street both were disproven by the street cameras overlooking the bar then police claimed that Chad was aggressive when they tried to arrest him they said he ran down an alley and began throwing garbage cans at them that clearly didn't happen as proven by the bystander video taken during the encounter Chad and James's attorney Javad kazel vehemently denies the officer's claims and even tweeted the videos proving his clients did nothing wrong according to Javad neither officer was given a sobriety test that night we believe the case is still ongoing as of July of 2024 in the state of Pennsylvania there are five places called Spring Township this next clip takes us to Spring Township in Center County home to about 8,000 th people and two police officers who didn't expect to go viral it was Valentine's Day of 2022 instead of being with their romantic Partners these two officers were on traffic Duty near the 1300 block of Zion Road they were sitting on the median and observing oncoming traffic luckily their body and dash cams were rolling when this one in a million moment happened pay attention to the third car in line heading toward our officers the driver's side rear tire comes loose and bounces on the median it takes three good hops before destroying the police Cruiser's windshield according to our officers it bounced over the car from there and settled on the opposite side of the road thankfully it didn't hit anybody else a quick body cam clip shows the scene from our driving officer's perspective here you get a better idea of how fast this tire was moving our officers are lucky it didn't break through the glass and strike one of them as for the pickup driver police determined it was a freak accident and did not issue him a citation that said he should probably check the bolts on his three remaining tires April 29th of 2018 was a scorching day in Florida still Trooper Brian Zager had a job to do he was out on patrol when he spotted a black SUV in the opposite lane going 20 over the speed limit to catch up he pulled a U-turn over the grassy median and hit speeds over 40 mph apparently going that fast must have overheated his engine not right there you to the right and she's got a break right now just one I don't recommend doing that what I just did but I don't do it that often so it might look like a routine traffic stop but wait until you see what's brewing under trooper eager's car the car's trying to catch on fire wait what the hell is this 1656 can you have 1069 51 my car is catching on fire dry grass Florida sun and a ripping hot engine combined to create the worst situation possible as the fire spread Zer told the driver he initially pulled over to keep going after all he wasn't in any condition to write a traffic ticket things only got worse as our officer tried to find the fire's Source it most likely came from under the hood but we imagin it was too hot to open it also seems like a dumb idea to leave the engine running but hey hindsight is 2020 he is your cor on yeah all right just be careful s my battery is dead that's why I try to call but my battery died here come back over [Music] it sounds like backup arrived while Trooper Zager was stranded on the side of the road they talk about grabbing his keys computer and weapons from the car but the situation sounds too unstable to risk it from what we can gather everything was a total loss the fire department arrived shortly after and put the blaze out a statement from Florida Highway Patrol suggested that Trooper Zager was in the wrong and would receive additional training in lie of this incident May 7th of 2021 police in Miami Gardens Florida are in Hot Pursuit of a green SUV the driver 26-year-old Joseph Sanders Jr was seen attempting to run over another officer who was trying to flag him down the officer radioed for help at which point FHP Trooper Rodriguez picked up the chase the to I5 G drive there was a county unit in the area that checked the entrance ramp both exit an entrance ramp and they was 1054 1025 I advise the county that I will have to send a unit to the main line Northbound and southbound in that area to see if they can find it also check in the camera let me heavy traffic caused Trooper Rodriguez to fall behind the fleeing vehicle thankfully he never lost sight of the suspect and could close the distance whenever things opened up meanwhile Mr Sanders had little regard for anybody's safety he ran red lights blew multiple stop signs and nearly struck several civilian vehicles eventually he started pulling wild u-turns hoping to shake the chasing officers still wai he took up he took up on 895 and he almost ran him over 895 895 uh 157 and 47 we're going westbound on7 West 47 fin 47 822 48 23 he's probably going to build 23 where are you signal 14 he just collided into 12 he's head on it toward Trooper head on it [Music] hit my vehicle your vehle care that's on youy it's only now we learn that somebody else was in the car with him it's unclear who the young woman is or if she was involved in a crime police placed her in cuffs as a precaution but we don't think she had anything to do with the chase the officer in involved in the crash was treated on the scene for minor injuries thankfully he could walk away while his fellow highway patrolman arrested Sanders they learned he was from Mississippi though it's unclear what he was doing in Miami Dade County if you enjoyed this video and want to see another just like it then be sure to click the link on screen now with that thanks for watching and
