Anybody injured? >> No. >> No. Everybody okay? >> Yeah. >> You okay? >> Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay. >> You guys want to talk to Officer Fleet? He'll get you spared away. Watch out. >> Um, ma'am, do you by chance have uh any tow in route or anything like that? >> What's a tow in route? >> What's up? >> What's the tow? >> Like a tow truck? Anybody to call a tow? Cuz otherwise we're going to call a tow truck company for you. Um, I can call Triple A. >> Okay. They're going to be way longer than we're going to be able to wait. So, I'll go ahead and get a tower for you. Okay. So, what happened, man? >> Uh, she just smashed into me full force. >> Hold up. You just sitting at the red light. I'm guessing >> I have I was slowing down. I had the red light was ready to, you know, for it to turn green and she just smashed right into me. >> Hey, ma'am. So, I just need to talk to you real quick cuz I'm the primary officer on this one. So, what I need to know is what happened. Um, my watch went off and I had my watch um I got a new phone and I've been having issues with getting it paired to it. Okay. >> So, I didn't have my watch on for a few weeks. >> So, it's been distracting to me. >> Um, while I've been driving and I've been seeing that and um I was looking down at my watch and >> Okay. >> With the black car, I didn't see it. >> Got it. And so you were intending to make a left here onto the freeway though or no? Yeah. Okay. >> At the time of the collision, we're wearing a seat belt. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Absolutely. >> Got it. Do you know how fast you're going by chance? >> No. >> 20 25 maybe. >> Okay. Do you have any dash cams inside the vehicle or anything like that? >> No. >> Okay. All right. So, I got a tow and route. I'll have more information for you for that. Uh I see that my partner has your license registration. Do you have insurance? Um, like I told him, uh, literally just this last week, I realized that, um, it wasn't coming out automatically. >> Okay. >> And so I think right now it's not >> Okay. You want to take a step over here so you're not so close to the roof. Okay. So, you don't have insurance. >> Okay. Um, if you want to stay out of the rain, if you want to just go ahead and sit tight in your vehicle for a second and I'll come back over here and talk to you. Okay. And I'll have more information for you. What's up? Okay. Anything from lunch? >> No, you guys are good if you want to clear out. Um, [Applause] >> real quick, where were you coming from? >> Um, I was coming from Lacy. >> Lacy? >> Yes. From where? >> I just moved here. >> From where specifically? >> Um, what was it called? [Applause] The log cabin. >> The log cabin. >> Yeah. >> The one over on Pacific. >> Yes. >> Okay. How much have you had to drink? >> I had uh three drinks there. >> You had three drinks. What'd you drink specifically? >> I had one beer and uh two vodkas over about 4 hours. >> Okay. We realize you step out of the vehicle for me here just so we can see past the ticket. >> Okay. >> All right. Just hang tight for me real quick. Go ahead. [Applause] >> Thank you. Just got to wait one second. He's got to clarify something real quick. Yeah, I already know >> what's up. >> Okay, just hang tight. >> Yeah. >> You want to go ahead and take a step back here to the back of the vehicle so we're not so close to the road? All right, ma'am. So, I have a question for you. Are you willing to ride a voluntary field soiety test today? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Or what was it? >> Yes. >> Yes. Okay. So, the field test is just a series of physical tests. I'm going to ask you to perform and make sure that you're okay to drive. Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right. Perfect. So, what I'm going to have you do is real quick. I'm going to pull out a piece of paper that's going to help us through this process. Go ahead. They're going to move their car real quick and then it's going to >> Also, what if the boots that I'm wearing is not like Do I have to like take my boots off and wear like my socks? >> What? >> My boots that I'm wearing, they're kind of tall. >> Okay. Is it going to affect your way to walk? >> Uh, yeah. >> Okay. If you'd like to, you can take them off if it's going to affect your walking. It's just going to be wet. >> Hey, ma'am, if you go ahead just wait inside your vehicle, I'll be over there to contact you in a second. [Applause] >> Okay. >> Can you turn the lights off? >> Can you kill your top lights for me real quick? >> All right. So, what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and set you up right here to give you enough walking room and all that. >> Sure. So, what you're going to do is you're going to go ahead and pull this out real quick. Got this for a reason. >> All right. Do you have any corrective lenses? >> Yes. >> Yes. Both eyes or one eye? >> Both. >> Both eyes. >> And um in a stigmatism, I don't know if that makes a difference. >> Okay. Do you have any physical defects that prevent you from being able to take the test and walk in a straight line, stand on one leg? Okay. Are you sick or injured? >> No. >> Are you under the care of a doctor or dentist at this time? So like receiving any treatment? >> Have you taken any medicine or drugs in the last 24 hours? >> No. >> No. Is there anything wrong mechanically wrong with you? What's up? >> Does that like mean like regular medications? >> Yeah, like regular medications. >> Um I take Adderall and uh propanol and birth control. >> Aderal and what? Propranol >> propranol >> and birth control >> and birth. Let's see. Okay. Is there anything mechanically wrong with your car before the collision? >> All right. Can you go ahead >> real quick? I just got to take a look at your eyes. Yeah. [Applause] All right. So, the first test we're going to do is we're going to do the the resting stag or the basically it's like a eye test. Okay. So, what you're going to do is you're going to put both feet together as close as you can. Keep your hands to your side and do not move them until I tell you to. Okay. What you're going to do is you're going to follow the Let me move this flashlight so it's better. What you're going to do is you're going to follow the tip of my pen right here and only my pen and only your eyes. Do not move your head. Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay. you okay? >> Yeah. >> I just like have dry eyes. Um >> Okay. Well, remember >> I mean I just suffer from dry eyes so >> Okay. Just follow the tip of my pen. Okay. >> Yeah. [Applause] All right, for this next test, So, this one's going to be similar to or it's going to be quite easy. So, what I want you to do is looking ahead of you, I want you to imagine that there's an imaginary line right there. A straight line as straight as you can see it. Okay. What I want you to do is I want you to put to get into the starting position. Both hands to your side. >> You move to the sidewalk. >> What's up? >> You move to the sidewalk. >> Do you want to get close? >> Okay. We'll go ahead and move to the sidewalk to make it safer. Just hold on. All right. All right. So, at this time, what I'm going to have you do, put both hands to your side and take your right foot and put it in front of your left foot. What you're going to imagine is a straight line from that point. Go ahead and stay in the starting position. Starting position again. Perfect. You're going to imagine you okay? You got this. >> Yeah. It's a little wet out here for sure. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Remember, hands to your side, right foot in front of your left foot. From heel to toe. Nope. No, no, no. Don't start. I didn't tell. Don't start the test till I tell you to. Okay. Okay. [ __ ] >> All right. So, when I tell you to start the test, what you're going to do with your hands to your side and your feet in front of you or your right foot in front of your left foot, you're going to take nine heel to toe steps in front of you. Do not start the test. You're just going to watch cuz I'm going to show you how to do it. I'm only going to take three steps. You'll take nine. Do you understand? You're going to agree. I'm going to take turn. >> Yes. Do you understand? And do you understand not to start the test until I tell you to? Okay. So, from this position, you're going to take one, two, three, while counting out loud with your heel to toe. Go ahead and get back into the starting position. At this point, when you're ready to turn around and take nine, you okay? Are you able to take the test? Would you like to continue with the test? I'm sorry. Just >> You're okay. I'm asking her. Would you like to continue the test or would you No, >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I I want to answer. I'm just >> You're fine. I just need to know. >> I know. >> If you can't do the test, that's perfectly fine. >> What happens if I don't? >> I simply say that you can't do the test and we move on to the next questions. >> And what's the next question? >> The next question would be, would you be willing to provide a preliminary breath test? Sorry, I'm just >> You're fine. >> I didn't take my anxiety medication today. >> Okay. >> I'm just um >> I just feel like my heartbeat is up a lot. >> Yeah. >> Would you be okay if I looked at what it was right now? >> So, I need to get this process moving. Are you going to continue to test or no? Um, >> all right. We'll go ahead and call it there. >> No, I I >> would you be willing to provide a preliminary breath test? >> No, let's let's let's do the the next thing. >> You're going to do the test? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. Go ahead and get back into the starting position. You may begin the test. And while you're doing this, make sure you're counting out loud. >> Oh, sorry. Was that nine to you? >> That's It's up. >> Do you Do you want me to redo it? >> No. Go ahead. Continue. >> I said, "Sorry, I didn't count that out loud." >> Go ahead and count out loud. Nine steps. >> Sorry. [Applause] How many more? >> Okay. All right. So, that's the next step. Next test, what we're going to do is a onelegged stand. Go ahead and put both feet be feet together, hands to your side. Do not start the test till I tell you to. Do you understand? >> Yes. So, what you're going to do with your set of your hands and feet to your side, you're going to pick a leg of your choosing, either your right or left, and you're going to lay raise it approximately 6 in or about a soda cans worth of height off the ground, just like so. While you're doing this, you're going to count allow 1,00 2,000 3,000 and so forth until I tell you to stop. Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay. Which leg are you going to be picking? >> Your left leg. All right. You may begin. [Applause] >> Go ahead. Keep both. Hands to your side. >> Hands to your side. Yep. >> 1,000 2 1 All right. Go follow. All right. You're good. All right. At this time, would you be willing to provide a preliminary breath sample? I don't want to, but what does that mean? >> Okay, so it's completely optional. It's voluntary. If you provide a breath sample, we'll do a quick breath sample out here on the road. If you don't, we move on to the next steps. >> What's that? >> I'll tell you that after we get through this question. I got to do one question at a time. So, would you be willing to provide a voluntary breath preliminary breath sample? [Applause] Yes or no? >> If not, then I have to go in and do a blood test. >> It's a yes or no. That's a yes or no. Are you willing to provide a preliminary breath test? Last time I asked you. >> What? No. >> No. Okay. All right, ma'am. Go ahead and put your hands behind your back. >> Yeah. >> At this time, you are being placed under arrest for DUI. Okay. back seat over here. Do you have anything on your purses that might poke me, stab me, hurt me, or any of this sort? >> No. Okay. >> All right, ma'am. Go ahead and have a seat inside the vehicle. >> All right. Go ahead. myself. >> Go ahead and lean back for me real quick. Or if you want to, actually, hold on. Put your feet or scoot. Can you scoot up a little bit? >> No, this isn't This is my first time. >> There you go. You see how there's a little groove back there for you to put your hands? There you go. Is that more comfortable? >> Sure. >> Okay. [Applause] All right, ma'am. So, here's the deal. What's going to happen is I'm going to unbuckle you. We're going to take a step towards the PD police department. We're going to enter inside there. Okay. Go and take a step out. Just go and wait right here. Go ahead and walk up towards those double doors right there. >> Oh my god. >> What's up? >> What? >> Okay. Well, stay tight. We're almost done. All right. Just going away right here. Almost done. Almost done. All right. Go ahead and take a step on in. All right. And then immediately keep going straight and follow your right there. And immediate left. Go straight down the hallway. And then you're going to take a right down to the end of the hallway right here. Take a right. And there's a bench right here on the right. Right here. Go ahead and have a seat. Are you left right or left-handed? >> Right. >> Right-handed. Okay. So, what's going to happen here? Just going to let you know there's I'm going to go ahead and uncuff you. And on this side right here, there's a little cuff thing. I'm going to hook up the cuffs so that way you have access to your right hand so you can sign paperwork. Okay. >> Should I be able to go home tonight though? >> Um, if you're able to post bail. >> So, what does that mean? >> So, usually an arrest like DUI first time offense, there's a $1,000 bail that's posted along with that. >> I don't know what I don't even know what that means. So bail is pretty much like, hey, the courts have recognized that this isn't an offense that you have to stay in here longterm for if you can post the bail, which is $1,000, which >> I have to pay $1,000. >> So you can either pay the full $1,000 or from my understanding, I've heard that if you can get a hold of a bail's bondman, which the jail will help you out with trying to connect with if you can contact them and be able to provide them with I believe they charge about 10% of that thousand. So it's $100, I believe it is. If you can pay them $100 and you make an agreement that you'll pay them back later at a later date, they will probably let you know on that one. So, but that's something that the jail is going to help you out with. And I believe the jail allows you to make a phone call, too. So, just depending on how cooperative you are with them, but that part is a little bit out of my hands cuz I don't specifically know what else they do on that. So, [Applause] About two more minutes and then we can begin the test. Go a deep. >> Well, get the test moving. That's the first part. >> Sure. >> Yeah. Whatever. [ __ ] >> Huh? >> I said it's easy for you cuz you're just some [ __ ] I'm just stealing my thumb. >> Yeah, whatever. In the town that we live in and all the crazy ass people that we have in this town and you have to like I'm wasting your time. Wouldn't you agree? I'm a waste of your time. >> I have no comment. Yeah, I know. You don't get to go there. >> You said that was Olympia. >> Yeah. >> SC their page on Facebook all the time. >> What was the last thing you saw on there? The most memorable one is the one >> um that was the person laying in the road downtown and they said brain matter was on the road. >> What? >> Or maybe that's just what I heard when I was at work. >> Yeah, I'd be a little cautious on that one. >> All right. But when you have a lot of other people that are on drugs that are doing a lot of other crazy stuff like I shouldn't problem. >> So it makes me upset that What are you doing? >> I have to input the information that it's requesting for. So, just got to give me one knot, please. [Music] wants to know like your drinking location like where you're drinking at. >> I don't know my brother's phone number. >> Um your prophecy could work out. >> Not your problem. >> Unfortunately, I can't. There's not much I can really do on that one. I can just >> Not your problem. You guys don't grab my wallet or anything. >> So, all I have right now is your ID. >> I have to ask the officers if they grab that or not. >> Is that a thing you guys ever do? It's dependent on each case. I can't say that they it happens all the time. Can't say it happens only once. >> Seems like that would be a common sense thing to me. >> All right. So test is about to be researched. So once again, before you take a breath, so you take a big deep breath in and then when you start providing the sample, one consistent breath as if you're blowing up a balloon. Okay? You want a nice steady breath. If you're blowing too soft, then the machine's going to detect that. If you're blowing too hard, that the machine's going to detect that. So you want middle ground right there. I'll tell you when to stop and when you reach a certain point. Then we'll let the system recalibrate again. And then we'll do it one more time. And what's going to happen? It's going to print a copy of your results. There's going to be a copy that goes with you and then I'll stay with me. [Applause] >> So, all right. One deep breath in. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. All right. So, you're going have to take one big deep breath in and provide a very consistent one till you hear the beeping. You want to retry that. So, make sure you wrap wrap your lips all the way around the device right there. There we go. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. It's going to keep asking. Keep going. Keep going. Going. Oh, gota keep going on that one. I know. Take a huge breath. As big as you think you can get. There you go. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. You're almost there. Keep going. Keep going. And you're good. Perfect. >> Yeah. So, that one it takes a second. >> What it say? >> Uh, so I don't have the results yet. I'll have those results as soon as the test results get printed. All right. So, it's gonna purge. It's going to reset the system real quick and then we're going to do one more time. I know it's quite the chore. >> I work in a hospital. >> Which hospital? >> I'm not going to tell you. >> So, I work at St. Pete's. >> Yeah. No matter what hospital you said, it's not going to change the decision. If I need to go somewhere for the ER, I'm going to go somewhere. >> You can figure it out. I don't work in the ER at least. >> Oh, yeah. Well, I don't go to the hospital that often, so if I have an emergency, I'm going to an emergency room, whichever one's closest. >> Don't go to capital. >> Not capital. Why not? >> Don't go to capital. >> Why not? >> It's It's not good. >> From what I've heard. >> Well, who'd you hear it from? >> Um, a lot of doctors that also work at Capital and work at St. like surgeons and stuff. They don't like the the lower staff in there. >> Well, so far all I've had to work with is just when I have to take people for uh pointing on it now. >> When you have to take them for what? >> When they claim to ingest stuff. Yeah, man. >> Oh, when they >> Yeah, >> they just the boost with like the watch inside, right? >> Yeah. Um, >> yeah. I probably I probably wouldn't go to Capital. >> What about the new Pacific one on Pacific or the Multicare there? >> Um, where's that one at? >> The one on Pacific. >> Pacific. Um, I don't know that I know that one. >> Okay. Same instructions. Big deep breath in. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. You're almost done. Oh, got to retry one more time. I know. It's It's bad. Big deep breath in. Huge deep breath. There you go. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. So, that one probably resulted from a bad uh setup, too. >> Yeah. Bad seal. There you go. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. You're almost done. Keep going. Keep going. Almost done. Perfect. I'll take that back. >> But for sure, I have to go to the other place. >> Yeah. So, unfortunately, there's no way for me to just let you go and let me part of policy that have a DUI. um you have to be booked into Nisquali but from there it's just a process of working with Nquali about the next steps >> and you sit out it's like 15 minutes. >> Yeah, 15 minutes max. But no traffic right now and stuff like that. Roads a little wet so hopefully travels maybe a little slow on the corners just so we don't crash out but >> no I wouldn't recommend It's not in the world. Those seats aren't that comfy. >> I rather would right now. >> Okay, it's receiving the data now. [Applause] All right. What's up? So, as for what your results were provided, so this is sample one. This is sample two. What you provided for your first sample was an IR result of a 0.249 and a 0.261. And your second sample, you provided a 0.246 and a 0.256. So, that part will go with you. And let me go ahead and get my partner ready. Officer Pratt, when you're ready. All right. So, my partner here is going to she uh is she good to put her boots back on? >> Uh they were soaked. She if you would like your boots. >> I like them. >> You like your boots? Okay. So, my partner will go grab her real quick. We'll just wait here for I'll meet you actually by the by the doors over there. Come >> on. Go ahead and we're going to go ahead and exit the same way that we came. Take a left and go all the way to the end. Take a right. All right. Well, we're going to take a step out. And I got the door. I don't want you to have to. Perfect. and take a step down. >> You don't know anything about my phone or >> No. So, your phone's most likely inside your car still. So, I right away as soon as you can just give the tow company a call and schedule that time to get into your car to get all yourself out. Okay. >> Here. Turned on real quick. Is this for you? >> All right, hang tight, Frank. [Music]
