think this all started over a stolen beer [Music] minut yo I on October 17th of 2016 28-year-old Javier Munoz arrived in Nevada looking for a new car to steal the Glendale Arizona native had just gotten out of jail for robbery kidnapping and evading law enforcement a year prior he allegedly escaped police custody on the 18th but with we'll touch more on that later CCTV cameras were rolling outside a gas station on Wednesday the 19th they captured Javier leaving the station and stalking a woman as she unlocked her car as soon as she cracked the door Javier rushed her punched her and threw her from the vehicle he starts the car and backs up dragging the woman into a gas pump as another man runs over to help Javier hits the throttle and peels out of the gas station without regard for anyone's life but his own thankfully Las Vegas police officers caught up with him moments later was a driver another in okay while we down to 60 still southbound ocean Auto Show and tires are car is slowly disintegrating in front of me roaching [Music] Gibson okay just 1050 going into the Cadillac dealership going be put here just in a [Music] second okay Trooper David Dudley opened fire on Javier striking him multiple times paramedics arrived and stabilized the carjacker but he ultimately passed away from his injuries 24 hours later according to Trooper Dudley Javier's tires began failing and popping during the chase that's why he pulled into the car dealership and attempted to carjack somebody's brand new Cadillac the plot thickened when police in Boulder City Nevada claimed they had arrested Javier on the 18th he was found speeding in a Nissan Sentra that had been reported stolen a day before in Arizona according to Boulder City police Javier had a wild look in his eyes he confessed to being high on methamphetamine and was taken to the hospital for detox apparently a laps in communication allowed Javier to walk free from the hospital as for Trooper Dudley he was cleared of any wrongdoing and returned to the Nevada Highway Patrol hey put the phone down okay phone down put the phone down what's the carart put the carart on January 11th of 2020 a sheriff's the road to make your left turn I thought it was going to be aned for our Deputy kept talking to the driver eventually identifying him as 32-year-old Robert Ferris of Las Vegas he also learned that Ferris had a violent criminal history and that the car he was currently driving was stolen after speaking with dispatch our Deputy returned to the stolen vehicle and attempted to arrest feris as you can imagine Ferris had other ideas hey put the phone down okay put the phone down put the phone down put the car apart put the car apart after dragging our Deputy a short distance Ferris backed into the police motorcycle and raced out of the parking lot during the struggle our depuy's body cam detached and somehow stuck itself on faris's fleeing car NY County sheriff's deputies pursued Ferris for about 10 minutes as his stolen car topped 100 Mil per hour he eventually lost control near the gold Town casino and drove up on the Rock barrier he tried fleeing on foot but police quickly caught up with him and tackled Ferris to the ground now here's what the crash and ensuing foot chase looked like from our depuy's body cam which was still clinging onto Ferris stolen [Applause] car happy [Music] [Music] stop M stop foot foot foot according to police Ferris female passenger escaped the vehicle during the chase we're guessing it was toward the beginning as Ferris showed no signs of slowing down for any reason upon searching him police quickly learned why they found a glass pipe and two small bags of magic mushrooms on Ferris person the drugs stolen car and police chase earned him a long strange trip to County Jail where he was charged with assaulting an officer possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest if you enjoyed this video and want to see another just like
