what on 16th October 2024 officers responded to a reported incident of shoplifting at a retail store the caller a store employee stated that they had observed a female suspect stealing items from the store according to the caller the theft was captured clearly on the store's security cameras and the the employee was able to provide a description of the suspect very very agressive no I'm not I'm right here take jail let's go sit down what I just asked you he already got he already got what he got there ain't nothing else in my sh but y'all can go through my sh the property no it a no it a look go look upon arrival the officers made contact with the store's staff who led them to the custody room where the suspect was seated she was visibly agitated and appeared to be aware of the accusations against her the officers began to engage the suspect attempting to conduct an investigation into the reported theft it's my medication do you have any anything in your bra it's in my officer decided to place her under arrest the suspect still in a heightened state of aggression resisted the officer's efforts to place her in custody she physically fought against being handcuffed thrashing her arms and attempting to break free she continued to shout not only at the officer but also at others in the store causing a significant disturbance as the officers now had to manage both her behavior and ensure that she did not harm herself or others during the arrest yeah these are not these don't look like your prescription they are my prescription there's two of them no your prescriptions are in your bag I'm going to verify oh all right so then I'm going to verify there's nothing in there put they're getting taken out and they're going to be put in your property there's actual convictions in your criminal hist that was somebody else so I caught somebody else's charge is now a felony that's somebody else I I'm not worried about that somebody else actually got caught doing cashing a check with my you're not even listening somebody else got caught while I was in the bank all right doing the same thing with my thing that's why I got criminal use of a personal identification but I well that's the one but it wasn't my charge it was not my charge that's fine but you have multiple that's related conviction so no that's the only one you got understand it's all accumulates all right that's fine whatever in a little bit we're going to change that out but um so what am I being in charge pretty that for for what so it's going to be but what what is the felony what's what's the actual chart her behavior inside the patrol car was erratic making it difficult for the officers to maintain control during the transport to the police station she was moving around violently trying to disrupt the officer's attempt attempts to keep her calm and seated throughout the transport the officers made multiple attempts to deescalate the situation by asking the suspect to calm down do the paperwork wait hold on wait wait wait hold on Grand Theft how the did that happen this is Edward merrian now it's going to be grand theft for a radio it's $13 it's not it's 13 it's right next is something that's $23 so what is it Grand Theft question what Grand Theft yeah how is it Grand Theft the radio was $13 no it becomes it's still it's felony petty theft now because your previous theft so what's the it's it's upgraded it's an enhanced charge because you have previous theft related crime conviction it's for money though this is not and this is the first Petty death I I'll try later the female was presented in court facing charges of theft battery on a peace officer and resisting an officer the prosecution presented evidence including security footage showing her
