I do you don't care no I do care very much in the late night hours of April 10th 2023 residents of a home in Newberry Florida were startled to see Samantha Fletcher who had Parts her SUV on their lawn and was wandering around their property they could also hear children crying from within her vehicle shortly after calling 9-1-1 deputies located her vehicle down the street from the original call-in they were forced to perform a box in technique to stop her from fleeing several more officers came on the scene because they knew this was not going to be a routine traffic stop where is it at do you know where the p is sweetheart hang on just a minute okay [Music] do you know where the key is no no okay can you step out for just a minute let me find the key and let me make sure your kids are okay suicide I mean we're just trying to help you and so I I need you to answer because I need to figure out what's going on and why you have kids in the car and is there something medically going on with you is there something else I didn't want to like drive home like I feel dumb okay well don't feel dumb we need to figure out what's wrong his dad was like it's no big deal take them home okay not that's one of the beer bottles is empty because she opened the side door and I was like We'll see um um not knowing where she is uh unresponsive extremely unsteady on her feet she was walking around crying and that other person's yard trying to open their back door the kids are everywhere she's I think she's nursing one of the babies right now there's five what are you gonna do what do you can deputies found you and they're a little bit worried about you driving there's some exercises that we can put you through volunteering they're going to make sure that you're safe to drive would you be suspicion that you may be in top state because I if you turn it sorry we're also training so it's okay I want you to follow this with your eyes okay just a little bit right there keep your head still only followed watch out honest put your arms back down right inside for me I'm down by your side honey I need you to follow this point all right well my kids are in the farm there's two deputies back there okay yeah well here I'll show you just really quick all right we're gonna do this again I'm gonna do a couple more okay keep watching it don't turn your head but you got to use your eyes to follow it okay don't use your head look forward straight forward keep following it don't use your head honey choose your eyes and your eyes only keep your hands down by your side attack right there the last one right here I can see it coming towards me um oh yeah you're fine all right name the next one there's gonna be the walk and turn okay what I want you to do is I want you to place your left foot on the watch tank I want you to place your left foot on the line you understand yeah okay there's two there's two deputies back there we've got two deputies I can see them from where I'm standing honey exactly these right there are taking as good a pair of them as they can be taken care of okay okay all right go ahead and like I had you before it just put your your toes and your heels together like this you don't want to do this no no it's entirely these exercises are voluntary I'm not going to keep going back and forth with you do you want to do these exercises or no the child is fine okay child do you want to do these exercises I do I just come back up come back over here I don't want you in the roadway put your toes and your heels together so yep and keep your arms down by your sides stand just like this and tell you tell you to do anything else okay when I tell you to I want you to place your left foot just imagine there's a straight line underneath you going all the way over to my car just a straight one straight line okay when I tell you to and not until I tell you to place your left foot on that imaginary line okay then you're going to take your right foot on the line ahead of your left foot making sure that your heel of your right foot is touching the toe of your left foot okay do you understand and you're going to keep your arms down by your sides go ahead and get into that position okay do you understand what I told you to do can you go ahead and put your left foot out on that imaginary line and then put your right foot in front of that one you can't you don't want to do these no I do I do it's it's I'm not I'm I'm being really kind to you right do you want to do them yes or no okay so are we gonna do that yes put your left foot on the line [Music] I'm not saying you're being difficult I just it's you either you either want to do them or you don't want to do that and then put your right foot in front of that one keep your arms down by your sides put your right foot in front of your left foot and keep your arms down by your sides and stand just like that can you stand like that no [Music] no don't start walking until I tell you to I just want together and your arms down by your sides when I tell you to start you're going to raise one foot either foot approximately six inches off the ground with your toe pointed out we must keep both legs straight and your arms at your sides while holding this position you're going to count out loud in the following manner 1001 1002 1003 and so on until told to stop so it'll look like this One Thousand and One do you understand you may begin remember to keep your arms at your sides keep going okay you can't do that one either [Music] are you gonna do the exercise because if you say you can't and then you start again you're confusing me a little bit are you gonna do it or no well you said you can't so I'm just trying to make sure that you're gonna do it okay keep your arms at your sides keep anymore Samantha I've been very kind to you ever since we met I'm asking can I talk to someone else someone who someone else like are you asking to talk to your husband my lawyer before we ask you any questions about why you're being arrested you'll have a chance I don't think I have any more questions for you I say we just do the 29 Charlie and call DCF and they can come take the kids we're trying to get all of somebody get a hold of anybody we're trying to get older your husband and you're wrong I don't have a mom to say I think [Music] my grandma could you won't let me enter into anyone no we're asking you I was telling you I don't have anyone but my grandma is okay nobody else no who else helps you with the kids are no that's she's starting to realize what's happening and she doesn't want to cooperate with us anymore we asked her about where her husband is and she says she wants to talk to a lawyer so proud of this yeah and there's also a tend to charge this in the house I told them I was like Hey I was like we are not going to be able to come tonight but I was like depending on the BRAC es which side is she on passenger side oh watch yourself put me in jail yes ma'am what send someone to knock on his door so he the address that's on your license yeah okay so like what am I being charged with DUI and then DUI can I get like let go tonight or no you'll we'll talk about that here in just a second got something I need to bring here okay by accepting the privilege of operating a motor vehicle within this state are you willing to take a test of your breath out breath blood on you no no okay you realize I don't mean you'll lose your license right okay you realize that can be used against you in court right okay [Music] [Applause] hey she says her husband is at the address on her license you may have to send somebody over there to we're looking for a phone number for the one in the backs dad who's in Gainesville okay um we'd help out but the other ones dad I keep calling and it's going straight to voicemail she doesn't want to take a breath test which is a shame because if she blew 0.5 we could charge her with the enhancement because she has three children in the car um it's a felony enhancement so um I'll see if we can work out some charging I mean I hate to do it to them but that breaks my heart that that precious little baby yeah I don't even want to look at her I want to get emotional can I take a test yeah we you can when we get to the jail can I do it now no we have to is anyone coming to get my kids my kids so Lieutenant that was here the female Lieutenant she said she's going to keep trying to call him okay that means nothing can you like let me help you call him oh okay thanks bud do you guys feel good about this no ma'am not at all can I please tell them goodbye please please please please please I don't want your kids to see it well you did this so you made this decision I did not tell you to get in that car driver I get it drunk but [Music] but prove that I was drunk did y'all actually like prove it we gave you several opportunities to complete the exercises we did it's on camera or do you block it out on your camera no we don't block it out are you sure yes ma'am oh yeah y'all like to control that don't you so at what point do you have your camera on do you have it on right now we had it on all night bud so do you see my neighbor's dog you want to shoot them or not so what do y'all doing with my kids oh I didn't know if I was going to ask about you like hitting me in the face or something I mean I'm
