The husband boyfriend started hollering watch your back [ __ ] >> Was there something that triggered you or >> About a month ago, we my friend and her boyfriend were here and when they left his dog got down the road and she said the dog peed on all her garage sale stuff and she started hollering and cussing. >> They have like a daily garage sale or something? >> Yes. >> Last week she was screaming that our friend threatened her with a bullet and all that. >> And that didn't happen. >> Okay. So so the trigger was just still from what happened a month ago. So she just saw you and started yelling. >> Yeah. Every time I come in my driveway >> Never had an issue with either one of them until the dog went down there the other day. >> The only reason I came over here is just to try to figure out like what's the what's the dispute and try to avoid them. I mean >> Man, this Okay. Y'all are good? >> Yeah. We're good. >> All right. So >> Thank you. >> Y'all have a good evening. >> According to court records, the female suspect, Brandy, was charged with resisting arrest, search, or transport. She took a plea deal, pleading guilty in exchange for the sentence of 26 days in the county jail with 26 days of credit and she was released back into the public after paying $450. The male suspect, Ivan, was charged with three counts of felony assault on a peace officer. He also took a plea deal, pleading guilty to all three counts in exchange for six years of probation. >> Now, the neighbors are pretty calm talking to police, but Ivan, he's yelling, swearing, and at one point tells an officer they better watch themselves. This is where the Peerless VR recreation gets extremely useful. The simulation allows agencies to take real incidents like this one and recreate them as VR training scenarios. Not just listen to what Ivan's saying, watch his body language. The officer tells him to walk towards the police car, but Ivan says, "I ain't walking nowhere." and starts to walk away. Watch what happens in the VR training. The person going through the scenario pulls his taser, steps back, and creates some distance. Because when you can get space, you want it. Based on what I saw in the actual encounter, I would have been comfortable using the taser at that point. Could that have prevented the scuffle and some of the injuries that happened? Possibly. This is what I like about what Peerless VR is doing. You can take a real incident, or through those verbal cues and mannerisms, make a decision, and then go through it again and try something different. Because it's a whole lot better to work through those decisions in a controlled environment than for the first time when somebody's standing right in front of you.
