What's up, everybody? This is Ryan, your host, and today we have a woman who gets pulled over for expired registration, and what should have been a simple traffic stop, but the second the officer tells her she has two warrants, everything goes completely off the rails. Instead of stepping out of the car and handling it calmly, she decides to run, turns traffic warrants into a foot chase, falls in the mud, loses her shoe, and ends up making her situation way worse than it ever needed to be. HANDS UP NOW. GET ON THE GROUND NOW. GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND RIGHT NOW. RIGHT NOW. I HAVE TO PEE. GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND. STOP. STOP. GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND. STOP. At what point do people realize running is making everything worse? >> Get on YOUR STOMACH NOW. NO. [screaming] >> ALL RIGHT. DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. SIT UP, MS. HARRIS. Sit up. And somehow all of this chaos started over expired registration and traffic warrants. So, now, without further ado, let's get started and see what's really going on. Hello. My name is Officer Davis. I'm with the Bexley Police Department. The reason why I pulled you over, cuz you tried to dip out on me. I saw your registration was expired. >> I made a wrong turn. I stay on this street. I actually stay in this next house coming up. Okay. Do you have your driver's license, proof of insurance on you? You don't have it. You don't have your driver's license. You don't have it on you. >> have it on me. Okay. What's your You know, your social, your driver's license number? No, I do not. You don't have Is the vehicle registered to you? Yeah. Okay. What's your name? Tamara. All right. Hold tight for me. So, I'm coming down Livingston or Main Street. I see the car. I see the plates are like more than likely expired. I haven't run it yet, but I'm like, I'm not. It's It's fine, whatever. As soon as I get close up to it, they dip off into the first reunion or the First Union Bank thing, and then I just pull around and park. Well, then they come out and they sit there, and then they like they want to come back uh eastbound on Main Street, but then they see me, and then they come back and cut down Roosevelt. I'm like, "What are you What are you doing?" So, then I swooped them, pulled them over. The registration is expired. She does She said she doesn't have her license, either. I'm going to check her um to see if she's valid or anything. There is a passenger. It's two people? Yes, it's two people. They say why they were dipping? No, she said she made a wrong turn. So, then she just came She lives two houses up, is what she said, but her address on here is Two houses up from where? From here. I live two houses up from here, is what she said. And where is here? From From where we're at right now. Two houses up. I need to see who that uh who the driver who the passenger is though, and uh make sure he's good to take the car or whatever. Oh, we can deal with that later. Pull her out? All right. Okay, right away she's driving like someone who knows she's already messed up, right? Expired registration, no license with her, and the second she sees the officer, she starts making strange turns. That's never a good sign. Then she says, "I live two houses away." Somehow that always sounds suspicious during a traffic stop. Great start already. Okay, Ms. Harris, I need you to step out of the vehicle for me. All right, can I go in the house and pee real quick? Unfortunately, I cannot let you do that. I will uh make every effort to get you to the restroom as soon as possible. So, what am I being stopped out of the car for? Cuz you have two warrants for your arrest. Two warrants? Two warrants, yes, ma'am. >> What's the warrants for? I can explain all that to you once you get back in my cruiser. I would like to know what's my warrants for before I get into your cruiser. Okay, I need you to step out of the cruiser. Uh step out of your car right now, ma'am. I need you to step out of the car right now. I need you to step You're making this worse. Like don't make this worse. It's like it's traffic stuff. Like don't make this worse. Don't add another charge. Don't make this Don't elongate this stop. Like let's just get this over with and be done with it. Don't make this worse. Don't add Don't add other charges to this. So, you're going to turn some traffic warrants into a criminal offense. Ms. Harris, step out of the vehicle. Step out of the vehicle now. Step out of the vehicle now. Step out of the vehicle now. Step out of the vehicle now. Step Step out of the vehicle now. Don't do that. Do not do that. Do not do that. 26 IS TAKING OFF. THE OFFICER TELLS HER SHE HAS TWO warrants and somehow her first thought is, "Can I go inside and use the bathroom?" It It's not fear. She's not worried. Just bathroom first. Then instead of getting out of the car, she starts arguing about the warrants as that would help. She is turning a simple traffic stop into a much bigger problem. Not a smart choice here. 26, she's on foot running. 18 Will you stay with the car? I'm going to LOOK BEHIND HER. STOP! STOP! PUT YOUR HANDS UP NOW! GET ON THE GROUND NOW! GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND RIGHT NOW! GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND RIGHT NOW! GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND RIGHT NOW! GET ON THE GROUND NOW! GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND RIGHT NOW! GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND! GET ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND! STOP PLAYING WITH ME! I'M NOT ABOUT TO KEEP CHOKING YOU NOW. AIN'T NOBODY choking you. GET ROLL OVER! GET ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE I DON'T GIVE A She just took off running. [ __ ] 26 I got one to go for it. And there it is. The moment she decides running on foot is somehow a better idea. That plan lasted about 30 seconds, right? The officer is telling her again and again to get on the ground, but she still wants to argue. At first, she runs, then she complains about her ankle. Now, that's usually how it goes, right? Bad decision after bad decision. Open up, man. Man. They're taking me out to court, right? You was You got anything Wait, this is code three. We started a minute All right. I copy. I know you do. So, we get this figured out, we're going to sit in the car, okay? All right. Just leave your phone right there. >> Okay. Well, can I hang it up? I'll get that to you in the same car. I got nothing to do with none of that, man. Okay. What's your name, bud? Rashid. Rashid? Yeah. Okay. Can you call an ambulance? No. Roll over. Get on your [ __ ] STOMACH NOW. NO. [screaming] GET ON YOUR STOMACH. GET ON YOUR STOMACH NOW. Get on your stomach now. Get on YOUR STOMACH NOW. GET ON YOUR STOMACH NOW. STOP RESISTING. YOU'RE ADDING MORE CHARGES. YOU LIED. >> [screaming] >> STOP RESISTING. STOP RESISTING. STOP RESISTING. STOP MOVING. STOP MOVING. Stop resisting. STOP RESISTING. YOU GOT TO TRICK HER. THAT'S FOUR LINES. >> [screaming] >> STOP RESISTING. ROLL OVER. NO. WHY? GET OFF OF ME. OKAY. OKAY. MA'AM, WHAT'S YOUR NAME? I have one app. Don't worry about it. Sit up, Ms. Harris. SIT UP. I'M GOING TO HELP YOU UP. MEANWHILE, the passenger is sitting there realizing his night just got turned into a full police episode for absolutely no reason. And Miss Harris is still fighting every single instruction like she thinks this is helping her. At this point, the officers are basically repeating the same commands on a loop. Also, the "I can't breathe" line always just shows up right after the resisting starts. Like every time. OKAY. RELAX. >> [screaming] >> RELAX. NO, I DON'T WANT TO IS SOMEBODY WITH THE CAR? THERE'S somebody in the car. My brother OR SOMEBODY. OKAY. OKAY, WE CAN'T HELP SHE HURT HER ANKLE when she TOOK OFF RUNNING. HERE, SIT UP. >> [screaming] >> THERE YOU GO. PLEASE STRAIGHTEN UP. YEAH, I'LL SIT THERE WITH HER ALL NIGHT. SHE'S GOING TO JAIL. I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE ALL RIGHT. IT WAS TRAFFIC. IT WAS LITERALLY LIKE TRAFFIC WARRANTS. And I'm like, "Hey, you got some traffic warrants." And then she and then she just takes off. Did she fall? I don't know. I didn't see her fall. When I I like she turned the corner, so I I obviously she turned off coming around the corner, so she kind of got some distance on me. But then when I get up here, I like I drew down where I'm like, "You don't know the ground." And I she fell down. She was already like she was going down. And then she's like, "Oh, my ankle, my ankle." Do you think she slipped in the mud? >> I'm sure What did. Like she's heavier. And you know what I'm saying? >> her she like stumbled or tripped somewhere. Okay. Who is that to you? Who is she to you? >> That's my friend. Okay. Okay, now comes the craziest part, right? The officers are trying to figure out how simple traffic warrants turned into running, falling in the mud, even losing a shoe. And she says her ankle hurts, but that probably happened because she decided to run. Now, all of this trouble started over traffic warrants. It just could have been so easily avoided. Okay, you got some ID on you? I don't have my ID, but I got my wallet. >> Okay. You got any kind of ID on you? Uh I'm on probation. Like, I'm on probation right now, man. I ain't >> Okay. What are you on probation for? I'm on probation for child support. Okay. Roomfield? Yeah. Like, I I didn't Listen, man. I was telling her to take me >> done with the vehicle. I got the passenger detained. I was telling her to take me home, you feel me? She made the wrong turn, and then um when we turned down the street, I guess the officer pulled up on us or whatever. Okay. She had cut the car off. She said, "All right, they're about to cut the lights on." I said, "Well, just cut the car off. Stop the car." Yeah. Boom. I'm sitting there talking to her. I'm like, "Well, look." >> Spell your first name again. R A S H E E D Yeah, like I was telling her like just take me to the crib. She was going to take me home, and then that's when we had got stopped, and then I guess they had ran her name and all that and said she had two warrants. And I'm like, "Well, look, man, just get out the car and let them do their job." So, this is all This is all just for traffic warrants. Ridiculous. Stupid. So. Stupid. And look, I'm telling her I'm like, "Look, get that handled, you feel me?" She like, "Well, I ain't going to jail." I said, "Bro, please, bro. Just go get [ __ ] taken care of. Like, I'm not trying to I don't have time for this." So, then when she did what she did, I'm like, "Look, I ain't trying to have no parts in this, man. Okay. Who are you on the phone with? My My cousin. Okay. Where are you trying to get to? His house. Where Where's that at? Up north. Up north. Okay. And I was telling her, I said, "Well, look, let me just take If they If you go to jail, let me just take your car. Yeah. And I'll park it over there. That way you when you get out, your car will be good, your phone and all that will be good." Yeah. I said this was This was all unnecessary. All right, just give me a second, okay? Just put your foot in there and You don't have any warrants or anything. You said you're on probation. >> No, I'm not on I'm on probation, man. I ain't >> All right. So, all right. Yeah. >> All right, just sit tight for me, okay? >> All right. At least the passenger is the only person here making sense. Like he was telling her the whole time to stop, get out, and let the officers do their job. He even offered to park her car and keep her things safe. Like he knew this was all unnecessary. Honestly, he looks more frustrated than the officer. Like he just wanted to go home. In the end, she was first charged with failure to comply and obstructing official business. Later, she was also charged for having a weapon while not legally allowed to because of a past assault conviction. She later pleaded guilty to improperly handling a firearm in a vehicle and was sentenced to a total of 4 years and 9 months in prison. Now, tell me one thing.
