Slow down. >> your first name again? Um was that my mom on the phone? Make sure I go home and talk to mom seriously for but for safety purposes also. I'm looking Did you see your front tires? So, Yes, sir. >> What What does that entail? So, as the Admin Deputy Chief, uh I oversee the training unit, Y O U. There's also community involvement there. Uh I work with purchasing, dispatch, and do a lot of the uh work with human resources to do the hiring, so it is uh it is just that, more administrative in nature than it is operational. I was the Operations Deputy Chief for a few years, and I've been the Admin Chief for about a year now. Signal 1350 2100 Westside. 56. Morning, sir. Good morning, young man. How's your day today? >> Good good, sir. My name is Officer Badarama, Coral Springs Police Department. The reason why I stopped you, sir, I'm sorry. Yeah, you were just going 56 on the 35 just now. >> I apologize. I'm running late. I'm going to the hospital now. Okay. I'm 441. Okay. You have your license, registration, proof of insurance, please? >> I got it. I got it. Mhm. That's December 2025, yeah? That's an old one. You have your new one? No, this one starts at this time. No, it's every every uh it's every 6 months or every year. So, this started Yeah, that that that expires since uh last month. 12/31/25, so it expires in 7 months. No, no. It already did expire already. It today with January 2026, sir. When January 2026. So, you got another one in there I don't know. Yeah. Yeah, let let just let me find it. Just Give me 1 second. That looks like an insurance card. Let me see that one. See if Uh 2024 expired. It's only good for a year. Do me a favor. When you find it, can you give it to my partner right there, right? You're a picture. Okay. Thank you. Uh-huh. I will do now stationary traffic enforcement over here on Riverside. And this vehicle uh comes in uh going northbound. We're facing northbound, also. Going 56 on a 35, so that's 21 over the speed limit. Right now, he's trying to find his uh registration and insurance. He has shown me two of them, but they're already expired, so See, Chief is looking at it. All right, sir. Look, this is a citation for going 21 over, okay? You got to slow down, please. That's a lot. Okay? You're almost doing almost double the speed limit. 21 is a lot in the roadway. >> Officer, explain to the officer. I have an appointment Mhm. at the hospital, that's why I Yeah, that's understandable. You got to do Make sure you get there in a safe manner, you know? You want to get there because if you don't get What if you get into an accident or you hurt somebody or what not, then you won't be able to get there, you know? Then you miss your appointment. Well, in here, make sure you take care of it within 30 days. There's options four. Read through them. If you choose them, go ahead. Choose one or hire a lawyer to take care of it, okay? >> Very good. Thank you. Okay. Just be careful. That's all, okay? Yes, so so how much how much is the uh It's a $281 ticket, sir. Yeah, it's it's 21 over. That's how much it is. Okay? All right, sir. Thank you. >> So, I got 30 days to take care of this, right? 30 days, yes, sir. 30 days. >> go in personally and pay the bill? That'll be option number one. You can go scan it, or you can go to a courthouse, one of these courthouses listed as near you. You can go in there. There's a There's a teller right there, and they'll go pay it, okay, sir? All right. Thank you. >> Have a blessed day, man. You, too. And be safe. No, you, too. Thank you, sir. >> Sir, drive safely. Have a good day. Okay. Thank you. Appreciate it. How long have you been in with the uh department? Uh so, I I started my career as a law enforcement officer in 1997. I uh worked in New Jersey for about 5 years before coming down here to Coral Springs. Started down here in about 2002. So, [snorts] like almost 29 years now, so Yep. Been Been a while. I've uh had a lot of good opportunities here at this agency, and uh worked as a violent crimes detective as I got promoted. And worked up through the ranks. Mostly um spent most of my career overseeing investigations, both property crimes and violent crimes. And uh even as a command staff member, always pretty much stayed operational, whether I was a captain over investigations or an Operations Deputy Chief. Uh as we discussed earlier, this is my uh first uh time working on the admin side of the house, which is certainly uh that's what interesting to see, and an area of police work that I have um not been involved with in the past, but it's been interesting. So, overall, it's just been a very very blessed career, and I've had a lot of great opportunities here working for the City of Coral Springs. It's a fantastic agency. All right. He's slowing down. Still getting him at 65. CR2, shows going 1050 at Wilds about the 7000 block. 7000 block Wilds. Good morning. How are you? Deputy Chief, Coral Springs Police Department. So, just so you know why I stopped you, you're doing 65 mph. Do you got your license, registration, and insurance with you? All right. >> I just have an appointment here at Okay. here at my office. Okay. You work in here? Yeah, I was trying to return check. Yeah, let me just see your information real quick. How's your driving record? No clean? Good. Okay. I I just shifted a bunch of stuff around. I might have it in my one of my bags. I'll tell you what, you work on trying to get your license, okay? >> Yes. And uh just, you know, wave your hand out the window if you find it, but just stay in the car. All right? Yeah, yeah, stay in the car. Appreciate it. Thanks. Okay, so license is valid. Uh don't know what you want to do then. Well, let me see if he's uh if he if he found his license. 65. >> Yeah, 65. 45. It's 20 over, or you can give him a didn't display his license, which he has to sign it and a thumb print. That'll be a $10 ticket. So, whichever >> uh let's do for We'll just talk to him, and we'll write him the one for not having his license on him. All right, sir. This is what we're going to do. Um My partner there, he's just so We're going to print out a citation. We're going to have you put your fingerprint on it. It is We're not going to write you for the moving violation, okay? So, it's not going to be for speeding. It's simply going to be for not having your license in your possession. Um you know, so it's a non-moving violation, but obviously, you got to be careful. You got to slow down. We don't want anybody getting in any accidents, you getting hurt, so just make sure that you keep that with you, okay? He's right there with the citation. You just put your thumb print on there, and he'll give you the directions on what you need to do. >> understand what's going on. This is a $10 ticket, okay? If you don't pay it within 30 days, more than 30 days, it'll be 116, okay? So, show Yes, show your proof of your license and a copy, $10, and you're done. No points, no school, no nothing. Whether >> to the could not even pay it. There's a barcode, option number one. And then you show that there's a barcode, click, you know what I'm saying? Scan it. Then that's it. That's how you go about it. Okay? Instead of that $281 ticket, which cost you cost you three points, a $100 court fee, and then it's cool, okay? You sign here, you're not admitting to guilt. You're saying basically you got to take care of it within 30 days, or else you're going to be paying. And then that is you, correct? Data birth Okay. You see No. Well, Yeah, but you have to Yeah, like us, we have to have it physically in there. The only thing you can show it on cell phone is actually your insurance card. Correct. Okay. Right thumb print. It's a little bit ink. Right in that square for me. And that's it. There's your copy and you're free to go, okay? All right, sir. There's your registration information. Drive safely, okay? Okay, take care. We we constantly hear from our residents and listen to them about, you know, the the concerns about traffic and aggressive drivers and crashes on the roadway. So, the clearly we um started the aggressive driver unit and it's been an agency-wide kind of effort, not just with the aggressive drivers, but the motormen, the patrolmen. It is an agency-wide effort to combat aggressive driving and to make these roads [music] safer. And ever since we started this aggressive driver unit, you know, when I look back, I look at the statistics from 2003 to 2004 and even through 2005, year over year, our crash numbers have gone down and they can continue to go down every year. So, I think that's just a testament to the men and women of the agency who go out there every day and enforce the traffic laws in our city to make the road safer for the for the public. So, I think you guys are doing an amazing job. And went to the middle lane. Once you're after this car, go. See him way up ahead. Way out. 76 31 light change. Make it state of 7 miles. Floor it out. I'm pretty So, it looks like one-time traffic. He's on his cell phone. 76 31 over misdemeanor. Court date. Yeah, he knows. Not in traffic, no, partner. Move forward more, driver. Move forward more. Move forward. Forward, forward, forward. Stop right there. 76 Morning, sir. Morning. Officer with the Broward County Sheriff's Office, Coral Springs Police Department. The reason why I stopped you, 76 on a 45. Do you have your license, registration, proof of insurance, please? Yep, and registration, too. Yeah, yeah. Do you have a gun or anything in there? No, no, no, no. No. This correct address is Coconut Creek? Correct. Okay. Yep, that's it. And when you find your insurance on your cell phone, just give it to my deputy chief over there, okay? You show it to him. He'll give you a thumbs up. You show it to him, that's all. There's your insurance card. You got it, sir? station and uh traffic force facing northbound over there on State Road 7 south of the Sawgrass, and this car comes along and goes 76 on the 45. So, 31 over. Obviously, once you go 30 and over, it's a mandatory court appearance, so he's going to uh have a court appearance, but >> Expiration 11/26. Good to go. Appreciate that. Thank you. And it's a misdemeanor once you go 30 and over, it is an arrestable offense. We can arrest him if we want to, but we'll use our discretion and just uh just give him a court date. If he doesn't show up, then they're going to suspend his license and then uh issue a warrant out for his arrest. All right, sir. Here's the deal with this citation. You have to go to court, okay? Once you go 30 and over, which you did, you went 31, you have to go to court. If you don't go to court, the state will suspend your license and they're going to issue you a warrant for your arrest, okay? Right now, if you go 30 and over, you can be arrested for a misdemeanor and then I have to tow the car. 76 on a 45 How much over is over? 31 over. Yeah, 76 and 45, that's a lot. You have to go to court. This is the address, it's on your ticket. You have to go. Or, you can hire a lawyer to go to represent you, whichever you choose. You understand that? Okay. You need to sign it and then your thumb print. Signing it doesn't mean you're admitting to guilt. It's just saying basically, yes, I understand that I have to go court and I understand that if I don't go court or somebody else does not go court, my license will be suspended and a warrant's going to be issued for my arrest for basically failed to go court. I believe that you're going to go to court, I'm not going to arrest you, that's why. It's $265 to tow the vehicle. You know what I'm saying? The judge will decide, will look at your driving record and decide then what the cost is. Okay? It's up to the judge then. He'll decide what whatever how much you got to pay for the ticket. Yeah, you got to be careful though. You got to sign. Yeah, that's a lot. That's fast. Yeah. But you But you got to make Yeah, but you got to make sure you get there safely to do whatever your daughter though, you know what I'm saying? Because if you don't get there, then they're not going to help her out. Uh right thumb print. Cuz you know, family is important, but you got to get there safely to help them out. Cuz if you get into an accident or whatever, something happens, like right now, I'm delaying you and you're not getting there as you expected. You expect, "Hey, Dad needs to be here. Where Where is he at?" You don't want that to happen. Okay? Just be careful, okay? There's your ticket, all right? No problem. You too. All right, sir. Best of luck with your training. All right, you got it. Take care. All right. 67 Tango 3 10-50. Make it State Road 7, Creekside. Floor it out. White Volkswagen, one-time traffic. Morning, ma'am. How you doing? Officer with the Broward County Sheriff's Office, Coral Springs Police Department. Do me a favor, can you roll down the window for my partner? Good morning. Good. >> The reason why I stopped you, ma'am, you were going 67. You slow down. You You passed me going 64 on a 45. Do you have your license, registration, proof of insurance, please? Okay. Okay, no problem. Um will you get your registration and proof of insurance, show it to my partner, my chief, please? Okay, thank you. And 67 on a 45 while driving back to our position I guess she said she's not feeling well. 67's a lot. All right, ma'am. This is a citation for going 22 over. That's a lot. You got to slow down, okay? I circled the amount in this pink form. There's also options how to take care of the citation. You choose one or or take care of it with a lawyer, okay? But just drive safely and get home safely, okay? Thanks. No, we were driving in the left through lane. You were coming in the middle lane. I have a rear radar on that car, which catches people coming behind me, okay? Thank you. Drive safely, ma'am. Okay. 64 Charity shows 10-50 114 in Sample. 114 in Sample. Charity 10-35 14 Good. Charity 10-50 180 00 00 70 How you doing this morning? All right. Good, good. So, I'm Ryan Gallagher, Deputy Chief of the Coral Springs Police Department. Just so you know why you're being stopped. Um you're doing 64 miles an hour in a 40 zone, okay? So, do you have your license on you, your registration, insurance? All right. Let's see. What do we got? We got the license, perfect. How is your driving record? Yeah? Any uh any citations recently or anything like that? No, okay. License ever been suspended for any reason or anything? No, okay. So, registration, we got expires 2 of 26, so we're good with that. And all right, very well. All your paperwork's in order there. All right, just sit tight here in the car, okay? So, couple issues going on here. Um first, um you're going to get a citation for doing 24 over, okay? The other thing is your license is suspended. So, yeah. So, it says non So, it says non-judgment suspension. Usually that's like an insurance issue where there's maybe a lapse in insurance or something like that. No, I the state's showing that your license is not valid. So, you're going to have to contact your insurance company and and figure out what what happened. Did you recently You did. You switched over. So, sometimes there's a lapse in it and it thinks that you dropped coverage and it suspends your license. Yeah, but I mean it's something that you're just going to have to research. Unfortunately, it's not I can't give you you can't be in possession of a license that's suspended. So, we have to take that from you. So, and also there's a So, when that happens, there's a seized tag order on the car. So, the tag has to come off the car. Yeah, I know. It's a lot, I know. I know. I know. I know. Yeah, listen. Whatever you have to address the insurance company, please do. But Yeah, but it's it's not it's not going to reactivate. You're not your license is not going to be valid today. Right now, there's a seized tag order to come off the car. So, we have to take it off the car and then unfortunately, yeah, yeah, no, we have to keep your license. We can't give it back to you because it's suspended. You can't be in possession of it. So, you got two citations. One Now, listen. It's a It's a citation for having a suspended license, but it's without knowledge. So, it's not criminal. Um Right. Yeah. Unfortunately, that is something you're going to have to handle with the you know, with the courts and then you're going to have to handle it with your insurance company. But as of now, there's nothing we can do here on the side of the road. The license is showing as suspended, okay? Um and unfortunately, we can't let you drive away. So, you're going to have to Once the tag comes off Yeah, I I know. I I get it. No, no, no, it's that's okay. I get it. You know, I I understand it's an it's an inconvenience, but you're going to have to actually park right there in the parking lot cuz you can't drive now with a suspended license because if you now drive before it gets addressed, then it's a criminal violation. You don't want that. Okay? That's what I'm just letting you know what happens, you know, right? Yeah. No, you're you I mean, here are the citations. On the on the citation, it shows we write in there that it's a driver's license suspended without knowledge. It's called a non-judgment suspension. Contact your insurance company, talk to them, figure out what happened. Um So, you should have all that there. But you're going to have to Once we're done here, you're going to have to park the vehicle in that lot there and please don't get in the car and drive, okay? Yeah, talk to them, figure out what happened and um and then you'll you'll be able to address these citations here. Just make sure this pamphlet here, it does give you all your options, sir. Just see Hold on, one second. Before you do that. Yeah, you you you No, no, but listen. You can you can make the call when you go park in the parking lot because we're not going to sit here behind you. I want you to just pull in there and make your calls there, okay? All right, because right now still like if we pull away, the back of your car is still edged out into the street and I don't want you to get hit. So, as soon as we're done here, you can pull right in there and then make all your calls, okay? But now, the option Yeah, I would definitely look into that. And then you have options for the speeding citation, too. In that pink pamphlet, it describes your options, okay? So, just read through that pink pamphlet I gave you and that'll tell you what to do about your citations, okay? They take the tag. So, right now, it's got to go be parked right there. Yeah, see there's going to have to be another one. We have to take it off your car. That you're going to have to deal with. I don't I don't know what the issue is. It doesn't I don't have a letter from an insurance company state you know, stating what's going on. So, just make sure that you address it. But as for now, tag's off the car. Yeah, you're going to have to you're going to have to get that back through the state. You're going to have to address these citations and then get another license. So, you have to get your license activated again. Follow the information there and they're going to tell you what to do when you contact your insurance company, also, okay? All right. Yeah, absolutely. Just Make sure when you pull out, you pull out safely, okay? So, that you are you are right by a curb here. So, you're going to go over a curb. So, just make sure you stay in the right-hand lane and just pull into that lot up there, okay? All right. You're you're good to go, all right? We're going to stay behind you until you pull into that parking lot, all right? So, if you could do that now, that'd be great.
