early in the morning on June 14th 2024 a routine Patrol turned into a high stakes Pursuit down Milwaukee County streets officers spotted a red SUV with hazard lights flashing suspecting a breakdown but as they moved in to help the driver took off at alarming speeds reaching up to 104 mph and weaving through traffic with Stop Sticks deployed and a 5.8 mile Chase unfolding it was only the beginning of the night's drama and I'll be in Pursuit eastbound Leon through 27th Street that's Sheriff [Applause] losing control something's up with his car speeds are way down to 25 it's going to be North on Swift from Lon North on Swift foot fail foot [Music] fail in the alley east east in the alley off of Swift just north of Leon driver a black blacker Hispanic male he's in a white T-shirt dark pants you got one m one the Greenfield police if you're out here now it's yourself you surprise me you're going to get shot did you guys have anybody what I'm sorry you Sheriff sorry cut yeah I did you get sick Oh I thought he miss hiop RV available everywhere on cut if you want to you you can throw him in my car right here unless you want him I need a bag though he's got some whe of course I don't think I have any bags either you can is it contained or is it all loose and then uh maybe a little bit I'm going to do the K9 track who's your buddy driving huh who's your buddy that's driving he who is he what's his name I know you know who he is I'm I don't know who I do that's not going to work for me who is he you getting the car with strangers huh you getting the car with strangers your mom teaching nothing come on chill I ain't going to chill you know me people you just put in danger that's not no you act like I was driving who was driving cuz right now it's all going on you who is it I just woke up D he's in this pocket cool I just woke up too in this right behind the phone there It Go my P take your seat apart sorry grab a seep you for a second if you help us out I'm sure they'll cut you a little bit of what's your friend's name that was driving I swear I don't know his name I swear I a even I even like it was some other [ __ ] driving when I be F you don't know his nickname you're in a car with six other people you don't know some he goes by call Rock like a rock on the r a cks r a c k r a c KZ R okay I got you that's fine thank you I'll pass on the other guy [Music] y That's my C I'm done with um excuse me yeah what are you going to jail can I talk a little louder will I be going to jail you talk no louder you got to talk louder I said will I be going to jail yes yeah I will yeah yeah you're in a stolen car we'll talk about it at the station got but yes you are going to jail as I told you earlier if you help us out with the driver help us look around Point him out where they literally was where I was at I think they ran down here talk really low so this they ran down this area where I was at like I was over there like this diagonal line over here like just right here let's make this super easy who was the guy that was driving the car uh he was lightskinned I don't know who you don't know him by name I don't know him by name I don't know him do you make a happen out of getting in the car with people like that no I never got in a car before you what I never got a car from before I understand that but you weren't driving that car do you make it a habit of just getting in the cars people you don't know no no because we was trying to go back to so do you see why it's a little hard for me to believe that you have no idea who that guy was then because she said that we were getting a ride back home okay who's she U my cousin the other girl that's under arrest so well she know who that guy is probably she was calling him okay here's the deal that driver put a lot of people in danger that's the guy I want you got into the car with somebody you don't even know you were trying to go back home I didn't look what happened I see you realize how stupid that was I wasn't thinking usually like I just go back home and I'm safe like I never it it's usually like my friend's dad and that didn't freak you you were my daughter's a you got in the car with that person you had no idea who he was I was just trying to get home what's mom or dad going to say when we call them I have no clue do they know where you are no do you understand you could have been killed tonight um no I didn't know that you know that I didn't know that what's Mom's phone number um you got to talk louder I don't know her phone number I only have on my phone where's your phone my cousin has it okay you understand we got to get a hold of mom or dad or you go out of the juie planner okay we cannot release you until we have that information so we we got to find a way okay will I be on house ride what's that will I be put on house ride it's not for me to decide but that's kind of a bad attitude to have here's what we'll do what I want you to do is now that me know for sure you're Tyrone Rogers okay I know you weren't home all day the 13th and the 14th I know you were in that car what i' love for you to do is just tell me what happened tell me why you did what you did and if that's if the answer to that is I'm scared great let's that okay and uh I'll ask you a couple more questions after that's done okay so tell me about how you came down to being Green Field like green field so really you was was so C I was just driving around you know me and my friends we don't really like we don't like Jo riding around so we just you know we dve around like we can you know drive like pedestrians really yeah so I end up I end up going the green F and I'm I talk the GPS back to my house so I'm like I ain't going I'm too far I never been out her before I never you know I a never been out here on scale you know so I get to Crime everybody just tell me like just come on type in the address I got you here I that's when I seen you and when I seen you my heart just Dr and myc Julie she a my no more cuz I'm mad at her right now but you know she was like it's about that time and you know me being the person I am you know I don't like the police I ain't never had no I a really had no real police contact cuz I a never been in trouble so it was just like what am I going to do it it was like really just a a c mouse game yeah really just a c mouse game so it just like it was boom so happened when you I Ain when you bust it down I just I get to look cuz I really check the card because y think I hit something no I didn't hit nothing at all I was on a SP tire so I just looked at the SP Tire I was just trying to make sure I was good to go you know just go yeah yeah that's what I was doing I was just checking on Spirit making sure I was good to go so then when I see you turn around and get behind like this two things happen this exactly what I told the two things going to happen he going to draw right past me where he going to flick his lights and when he flick his lights he going to look and see who in the cour so either way I knew I was going to high speed with you anyways I mean you you said you going to see who was in the car what does thatan like like Milwaukee like you you Ain never police okay so you know how you used to you used to turn on the spotlight yeah yeah a big Spotlight to make sure you steal in the car that's what usually happen Okay so but here's the thing you you and nobody else in that car nobody was wanted nobody had War something like that so like how I guess what if I if I been able to see you better I guess how would that been work I feel like cuz you like my I got a baby face so you would have knew it was a teenager driving regardless so I feel like you would you know you would you can say what you're thinking say you knew as a teenager I got a baby face everybody know when I when I drive like they like you look grown I know I don't look grown i d i look young everybody think I'm 15 years old still so hang out as long as you can man yeah I am I'm TR try but you know looking like me yeah so okay so I got to hand you the freak you out M yeah I got the panic and stuff so that's when the chase begin bom okay I'm following in GPS back to the house the whole time I feel like I was going the wrong way cuz I don't know how I ended up 100% we're going the wrong way I was expecting you to jump on the freeway North and then you went past 794 and you just kept going like where the you were if you kept going the way you were going you're going open in the lake so where where this Chase ended was at Swift and Leon uh right past that Lake Drive that's Sheridan Park then that's just Lake Shore you kept going straight through that Park You' gone right off the cliff into the water so it's a good thing you stop I a lie I already did stuff cuz I just didn't want to put upbody you in danger you know I a want to test to last any longer what uh what happened with your tires man like as we got towards the end there half you you so you started losing control the spare tire po that's what happened yeah they thought they thought I was going to smack but I have to hurry up it like I have to the whe I saw the Sheriff's Office threw the sticks at you yeah for sure yeah I was really it was just in that moment like I was like I don't know I'm just trying to get everybody home you know I'm trying to get everybody and get everybody back to the house so you knew who I was when I got behind you just freaked you out cuz Poli yeah I never I really never had real police contact before did you know that car was stoling when I got no because I got to WR somebody okay so you didn't physically take the car no just no sir okay now when I got to that car that ignition was strips there were no keys to it I'm I'm going to say something and I don't mean this to be insulting but you're 17 I can understand why I wouldn't necessarily click with you that this car might be a problem but that didn't register with you at all that the ignition first at first like when I first got the car like you know how like the the top and the bottom like you know how it's all put together M so that's how I was when I first so you had it like that yeah yeah did it just fall apart didn't you yes sir so when I finally l i Ain going Li I I did the I touched the key when I touch the key finally realized this mother St like I was that's why that's why that's why I got the panick in like that okay so when you said I did lose control I knew I lose I lost control and I re I lost control cuz I it went flat and I was I was going to be scared so that's when I just told everybody I said I Ain going lie this what we going to have to do we a cut a head right now I said cutter head going to come with that [ __ ] they ain't going to play with my eyes I ain't going to Li so we got to do I'm going to put this [ __ ] in park I ain't going Li I'm going to just push on the break as hard as I can we going to just get out and run so when you just tell me that I'm like oh I know exactly who this is I know I know this the police talk to the first person to get behind me too when when you stopped the car so that was me right behind you when you stopped the car did you hear what I was saying to you what you say no I didn't hear anything I was I I was just running cuz my was rushing too much so you didn't hear me yelling at sh to get down get on the ground stop running oh that okay but you knew I was the police yeah about so I just I just I was P I ain't going to lie so my heart I got as just I was just my heart was just beating up my how did you eventually get home somebody pick you up or did you walk all the way back up there you didn't walk up there I couldn't my leg was messed up okay I broke my leg well not even broke it but I spray my toe okay during that incident so you don't have to tell me who but like somebody can catch it you want um okay and when they came to get me they M all right so look I ain't even going to you say that nobody cuz you said don't tell you come get M came to get me and yeah they even told me that this is like what she said she said son I thought we you she said I ain't wake up for 30 minutes I swear no no p no nothing that's exact what she said well this was after the freeway yeah yeah after the high spe she said no PST no nothing she said we thought we G to do and the only thing I res said in my life that day was was a lady she was working third I think like third sh or something and it was early in the morning so you know they they working till like 5: 6 in the morning so she let me sleep in a little waiting room was heting there and stuff so when I woke up I was that's exactly what happened my grandma she got to crying she was like man I thought we lost you on real real stuff I really thought we lost you like you know what even with all the [ __ ] going on right now like that is the important part okay now I want you to understand that you everybody in that car to killed that night you and I'm going be honest with you dude you are my son's age all them girls are my daughter's age okay CL AG it's like you're you're 5 months ahead of my oldest right and I'll tell you if your [ __ ] would have killed those kids I never forgave you I'll right now for we be a very different conversation forg that being said I think you're doing the right thing here I on up to it I can I can put it in report yeah I hate time I was cooperative up to what he did he knows he shouldn't have done it and that goes a long way when charging decisions and sentencing all stuff happen for my own knowledge you don't have to answer questions you don't want to but have bother me since that day okay you were the one that cut to the left in that alley where the did you go after that I turned that corner and he was gone dude all right real real real [ __ ] I'm going to say a real [ __ ] I'm a monkey so I climbed the building I you right over I climbed the building it was a turn build I climbed the building I just head behind the little I just I swear to God I blame you were there you were gone man fit whole time everybody just they call me a speed Dem I'll be I be so quick to just leave like I trying to get out of there but it was just scary to me cuz I'm like in that moment I knew one was going to happen I didn't know where I was going so when you just told me that we could have di already already knew like it was it was it was make my heart stop when everybody was like you want to cut a hair I said yeah all right that's why I that's why I sto to chase up fast after they thre the spikes and stuff I had to stop cuz I didn't know where I was going yeah that was really it like I own up to Everything I did you know I a want nobody to get hurt in that situation I'm just really ready to go home I'm permanently for for of my life they they really going to take like 10 months for me to walk regular you are young dude little that so listen man I unless there's something else you want to cover that we didn't talk about I'm we're done let's get back to bed okay uh for my part like I told you I will do what I can
