traffic following cars too closely in the work zone I'm in a Mark's car for everyone's reminder like giant Explorer black and white and he was doing that for a while and then he got real close and he stopped you know cutting people off and following cars too closely I let him pass and uh I just pulled him over he told me he's on the way to a lunch meeting he's got to slow it down there's no reason to be driving like that I didn't mean to be speeding but I'm trying to just Hur what' he say I didn't I didn't mean to be speeding but I just uh trying to trying to I can't hear you try to me get to the like aunch oh okay where do you have to go I know I don't know if you ever heard of Chow Time who it's Chow Time where is it this so you have two things you have reckless driving and then you have careless driving reckless driving is Criminal so you can be arrested for it it's a misdemeanor in Florida and then you have careless driving where it's an infraction you just get a ticket for it and that's it now there's aggressive caress driving which is when you do two or more of the following right here and here is a list of the two or more of the following so you could be speeding um you could be doing all these other things following cars too closely violating traffic control devices any of these two right here as long as you have two of these then now you are an aggressive careless driver so it's still an infraction all that means is that it could make the fines um it could make the fines go up if he ever goes to court the judge can see that he was not only driving a careless manner but he was driving in an aggressive careless manner where he's more likely to cause an accident which could also influence the judge to give him a mandatory school where he has to go to some type of driving school in person they it would be by court order so he would have to pay a fine he could possibly get points on his license and he could be court ordered to attend a traffic school in person it wouldn't be online anymore he'd have to go in person so basically all that aggressive driving does is basically like it could be an enhancement it's not always an enhancement it's just possibly it could be an enhancement if it ever goes to trial and uh obiously if you're wanding with the whole Reckless thing it's officer discretion because at the end of the day it is a misdemeanor something like this I wouldn't arrest someone for reckless driving now if he was going 100 milph following cars too closely rapidly changing lanes on a highway where there's heavy traffic there's people working out here absolutely he'd be taking the ride for reckless driving and then he'd be arrested but just something like this we're going to run his license make sure he's good with having no warrants and then he'll get a citation he'll be on his way and hopefully that's a deterrence for him to not do it again in the future all right sir just a citation for careless driving we have three options you can pay it you can go to traffic school which is online or traffic court whichever option you choose you have to choose one within 30 days okay please be careful so a lot of you are probably wondering who this person is sitting next to me uh in Coral Springs the number one complaint that we receive in the police department is traffic that's one of the highest complaints from visitors and the residents of Coral Springs so recently what the police department did is they expanded the Traffic Unit and they added an an aggressive driving enforcement officer you want to introduce yourself how you doing I'm officer dinino with the call Springs Police Department at the end of this month I will complete my 9th year law enforcement I completed 6 years with the NYPD 3 years with Co Springs Police Department about a week or two ago I was selected to be the next aggressive driving officer and I look forward to working in this unit since he's just coming off patol get a ticket the other day but I was just going to call in today literally to try and uh set a court date but it wasn't it's not past the date to where I should have a warrant so it's still within it's still within the time frame so I'm just letting you know where I stand I run your name they say you have a warrant listen usually if it's at a BSO it's accurate anything in the car know about nothing it's probably like a small back probably think I probably got a small bag we laying around but are yall putting them handcuffs too huh are y playing hand so due to the fact that your car reeks going 96 on the sress and 65 um obviously the dino of Dino ran his name in on two channel and they said that this guy the driver has a warrant on vso so we just trying to confirm it so now that the vehicle is there with the passenger figured uh ranom passenger so he can take the vehicle away you know that's what we do um he didn't show no license but he gave a name and date of birth and he has a warrant also so now obviously we have to uh confirm both Wars and see if uh brow Sheriff uh County wants us to take them or not if not then we have to release them and so forth and then provide tickets or whatever we do if they say go ahead it's confirmed then we have to actually take them um to BS so Mel after after we do the paper work so now they we 20 for confirm it's right under there so you can sit him down sit down sir I'm going to be honest with you brother you you both have warrants okay oh work yeah you do when did when did when did that when we get back to the PD we'll figure all of it out right now dispatch tells us that we get back there we'll see the warrant confirmation and everything crazy though I literally got a ticket at the beginning of this month and they didn't tell me my license was suspended they gave me a ticket and let me on my way so I believe so I'm going to be honest with you I'm going to I'm going to say that there was a ticket prior than 30 days that's what a warrant issued not like something that happened earlier this month it had to be within 30 days or longer so it was it was older I'm telling you thing though I haven't gotten anything else that regardless to take a prior to the one no not not well all right not never I've obiously got a ticket before but yeah right now since the warrant has been confirmed for both the drivers and the passengers it's just traffic related warrants um now uh obviously we uh search the vehicle make sure if there's any weapons or any drugs in there uh obviously we found some stuff some drugs um now another officer is going to try to speak with the people who was the occupants obviously the vehicle is going to get towed uh there's nobody come pick it up so now we call the tow company to come and pick it up so now we're waiting for the toll truck to come wiress driving you were in and out of lanes rapid Lane changing no turn signal okay um it's to be set so when you see the judge he'll tell you all about it all right be careful F your license is valid at this time they'll let you know they'll let you know so buddy they'll let you know when they go back to the PD they're going to get the warrant sheet they'll let you know when the entry date was for the warrant can't hear them you ask if they just got it I so he'll let you know I we don't know they just tell us you have a warrant and we go off of it yeah appreciate you guys y thank you so later brother so in the end both both of the individuals in the the grey Lexus both of them had warrants at a BSO they were both end up being arrested the passenger had a misim amount of marijuana they're going to give him a civil citation and I issued two citations one for 96 and uh 65 and careless driving cuz he was rapidly Lane changing not using his turn signal and cutting Vehicles off so he was issued two citations how you doing sir officer Theo calls Police Department reason why you're being stopped you were traveling westbound on
