on September 14th 2023 Florida police responded to the address of a hung-up 911 one call when the officer arrived on scene he encountered Andrew atkerson who was recently released from jail for abusing his children he apparently showed up to his ex-wife's home where his children and ex-wife's new fiance now live yeah everything's fine what's going on they're just talking who's who hey guys didn't know if he had a gun I have my kids barricaded in there I didn't want him to kill himself in front of them yeah 100% so I decided to hang up the phone and try to deescalate him we both tried to deescalate him he said he was going to kill himself um different things like that you guys called back and um we were still in the process of trying to deescalate him because it was really quick um I said it was an accident I'm sorry you know and I hung up the phone I told him I said hey they're coming right now like you got to go he was talking like I'm going to kill myself I can't see my kids and stuff like that like I just want to come in and see my kids I said you're not seeing the kids he just got out of prison for child abuse against them right I knew you guys were coming um and so when you guys came he was talking and it was kind of playing like a roundabout kind of deal but he started walking a truck I put myself in front of the truck door I said you're not going to do that cuz I knew he was going to run yeah I told the officer I said hey you're going to need to detain him like detain him and um you know he didn't know the situation so he didn't understand he was being he was being somewhat nice to my fiance which is the first time that he's talked to him uh um so that was the first time they've ever seen each other um so he was like I'm just trying to see my kids and he's like you're not getting in here to see the kids Junction between him and the children correct him the children and I and you yeah okay yeah he was saying that I'm going to do a suicide by cop I was I was scared he was going to do something crazy with you guys cuz that's all he was saying okay and then he would like take his shoes off and like I'm ready I'm running it like some in just ghetto talk yeah he will make up anything cuz he was saying some crazy stuff as he was going in there so after our divorce I got the house from the divorce in 2017 so he does security systems so I cut all those off until I bought my own ring door bell camera gotcha okay cool thank you oh um and about the truck U my sister-in-law she did say she does have power of attorney who's the truck registered to Andrew but she has power of attorney over Andrew because he lives his life in prison right so how does he afford a truck like that he makes a lot of money he makes about 20 to $25,000 a month even when he owns an authorized dealer for ad so they're like the seventh largest in the nation yeah okay he's severed from it now I guess or I don't I don't know I don't sure okay I was just asking I was curious it's a nice truck during the investigation Andrew apparently pulled his shorts down and showed deputies his bare butt more than once that night unfortunately for us deputies body cameras were supposedly muted during this interaction it is true that Andrew is or at least was in fact the regional manager of a home security company let's just hope the products he sells are more secure than his ex-wife's home he was charged with violation of an injunction for protection against domestic violence or breaking a restraining order resisting an officer and felony violation of parole he was given no Bond as a result and is currently awaiting trial from the inside of a jail cell despite having a very expensive truck he claimed to earn no income and has accured $400,000 in debts and liabilities because of this he was able to appoint a public defender on his behalf he has pled not guilty to the charges and is planning to contest the charges at pre-trial on November 30th Andrew has quite the criminal history however his most recent charges include domestic battery of his now ex-wife in 2017 when he ected her of cheating he pulled her by her hair and threw her phone across the room in 2022 he was arrested for felony child abuse after he discovered his son had made in application purchases on their iPad he quote picked up his son multiple times and threw him into items
