So this is our humane unit building. This is where our shelter is, our office is. This is where people would come to retrieve a pet that we have picked up. We have cages outside, a lot of different other cages, too, as well as inside because dogs and cats aren't all we pick up. This week alone, we had 11 possums, one dove, two parakeetses, six dogs, and also one little raccoon. So these are our resident lizards. Um, we use them for presentations, um, and also to show people alternate pets. These are lizards that we keep here. This is a Saudi Arabian microlpus euromastic. This one's name is Yen. He will grow to be about oh this big from nose to butt when he's full grown. Takes about 8 years. Over here we have Dexi. She is a bearded dragon. She is full grown and a little on the fluffy side. She eats well. So, now we're moving into our kennels. We only have a few kennels here that we can keep dogs. So, our kennels consist of an inside area and an outside area. As you can see, we've got little Miyagi here to show us how the kennels work. Hey, buddy. Hi. Uh, every day we have to come in, clean the kennels, feed the animals, and this is just the dog part. So, if we have other animals, too, that's other cages, other food, keeps us busy for the first part of the day. So, this is our one full outside kennel. Uh, it's got our dog bath in it. So, we can put the smaller dogs in there for the bigger dogs. We bring the hose out. We wash them out here. Um, as you can see, we've got some of our supplies here. This is where we also clean them. This here is apparently our resident dove at this point. I keep letting him go. He keeps coming back. So, we're going to try again today and see if he wants to leave yet. So, we're going to try to set this guy free again. See if he shows back up at our front door. Go, buddy. [Music] So, we only accept Coral Springs animals. Uh, we don't take owner surreners. Um, we take strays, injured. We don't euthanize here. We're a non-kill shelter. The only animals we euthanize are wild animals that are injured or sick beyond help, and we keep them from suffering. So, if you do need to call us, you'll want to call us for any type of animal call. If it's not something we respond to, we'll know who to connect you to that can. We know all the resources. Any questions, please call us here at the humane unit. Our number is 954-346 4422.
