well you got to be careful anyway um do you have your license on you your registration Insurance please a um any possibility of a warning for 72 and a 45 probably not I was following another car yeah he was going 68 you were going 72 you were in front of him he was right next to you so you were I call that the safety net I would really so you were his safety I'm going to be late for my car now you're really going to be late cuz now we're here but yeah anytime like I'm on a road trip had a ticket in I bet you I haven't had a ticket in 30 years okay you must not usually be the safety net then well I don't usually rushing for my appointment it was at 10:15 and it's inoka yeah you're going to be late man it's already it's already 10:16 and we're in Coral Springs yeah thank you do you live in 72 and a 45 there was a car right next to him going 68 I only can get one there's only one of me so I I went for the faster one I call that the safety net anytime you guys are on a road trip and you got a car that flies past you I always call that the safety net cuz if there's a trooper on the interstate or a sheriff's deputy and a police officer that's going to be the car that's getting stopped for speeding so we're going to check his license out he's from Canada these licenses look different and then uh we'll go from there I told you not to get out that's all right I'm not allowed to get out no I told you not to oh I missed that sorry okay so get back in there yeah before I pull my weapon uh I didn't pull any weapons but I just it was just okay um so here is the registrations and insurance all right the registration is fine the insurance is expired from June but new one in there go ahead you can take that I'm not sure where it is and then you can have this back as well did you find the insurance on the registration or no oh yeah the registrations I gave to you yeah I'm sorry the Insurance uh did you give me back that package yeah I gave it back but remember the card was expired yeah oh I can't find that all right I'm going to I'm going to take your word that you have the insurance okay as far as the speed though I am ining citation you have three options I had to take care of it you can pay it you can go to traffic school which is fully online or you can go to traffic court But whichever option you choose you have to comply within 30 days if not Florida will suspend no you have me on uh on radar obviously yes radar this is the radar system right here here it's called The Stalker DSR 2x okay and then this is the serial number all the docs will be uploaded to the citation so if you want to go to court everything will be there for review as well as my certification and uh the radar log let me get you a piece of paper though don't head off yet give me one second and then this is the mailer this will have your options right here options one two and three no that's the state statute the yeah that's just the state statute 281 okay plus it's a moving VI so it comes with points so Driving School you might want to look into that or you can pay it if you'd like to if you take driving school you don't get points but again it's all it's it's whatever you want to do Florida license so you can't take points off that I don't know how it works with Florida reaching out to Canada I know there's some type of agreement where they can reach out to other countries and they could suspend your Canada license because there's agreements between that I don't know the exact agreements this 45 right correct this is 45 right here the only thing that upsets me is the other guy was right beside me yeah he's but I told you that's what I call a safety net you were the guy's safety net I went after you because you were going faster than him he was going 68 you paperwork with you you know we just stopped you a couple days ago yeah and you're still speeding okay you don't did you update your license yet no I wasn't able to okay so you have to update your license right here flhsmv.gov that's where you can update your license I try to do it online it's like it keeps like pushing back all right you might have to go in then yeah if there's if there's issues with a website you got to go in what's your new address I have the insurance here okay and it's just that the paper for their registration yep because I just did it I don't have it there oh they didn't send you the new one okay do you want me to show you the receipt for the registration no I can pull it up if you have it'll show me um all right yeah just make sure you update the license as well you have 30 days to do it if not you could get cited for that okay cuz if the state ever has to send you something important in the mail they're going to send it to the address here which is not where you live anymore it's still a primary address for me because my relatives live there okay so that's why it was like okay but yeah wherever you're primarily living that's where you have to get the address on even if your your family still owns the house you got to get all your mail sent to the house where you liveing now I'm going to try to again to see because I Tred to do it through the website and it the website actually sus to be honest okay yeah I mean um if the website There's issues with the website then you could always try going in person I use the website before and I had nothing but a great experience I was taking my foot off the that's all right you're fine yeah I used the website when I moved and I had nothing but a great experience and it only took me like 10 I did it for the um registration but this okay all right um I didn't see you driving with the seat Bel like that too but just keep in mind if you have the seat belt like that it's not how you're supposed to wear it all right give me one sec I'll be right back so the Interstate 65 mph that's the speed limit she was going 91 she's going to work she's telling me she also never uh updated her address on her license so you have 30 days to do it and you all you have to do is update your license online you can go to flhsmv.gov where you pay $25 you update your license Florida sends you a brand new license in the mail you can get cited for uh not doing it within 30 days cuz if the state has something to send you they're always going to send it in the mail they don't email you they don't call you they send letters in the mail so if your license is having issues or there's possibly a suspension on your license they're supposed to notify you before your license gets suspended saying hey there's problems with this you got to get it taken care of within this date and this time or a suspension is going to be put on your license they have to by law send that out they don't just suspend licenses without telling people also I didn't see it during the violation of the speeding cuz I was stationary I wasn't right next to her she's got the seat Bel lap belt around her lap but the shoulder is behind her you can't wear your seat belt like that it's not designed for that it's designed for both counterparts the shoulder strap and and the waist strap cuz if you get into an accident both of those work together to potentially save your life and protect people so she's got to wear correctly I'm not going to cight her for it because I didn't see it if while her car was in motion I just let her know hey if you had it like that while you're were moving just be careful not only is it dangerous but you can get cited for it she's already been given a written warning for speeding yet she's still speeding so we try to cut people breaks as much as we can but when you're not getting it that's where you're probably going to get issued of citation you're not learning your lesson you you've already been given a written warning it's documented in here it doesn't affect your driver license doesn't affect your history it's just kind of like a local system where every cor Springs officer can see that now that I see that and plus she's going 26 over the speed limit people sometimes ask me do you feel bad riding these speeding tickets no I don't because you've already been given a warning before and you're going 26 over what do you if you were the officer and you pulled someone over and they were going 26 over would you write warnings all day for that when you see accidents out here people are you know sometimes really hurt trying to be educational here but when you see something that looks like a pretzel it's a problem and usually when people look like pretzels it's because speed is a huge contributing factor to that and I don't want to see any more people that look like pretzels so I'm mening a citation for the speed we have three options you can pay it you can go to traffic school which is online or traffic court whichever option you choose out of those three you have to choose one within 30 days if not Florida will suspend your driver license privileges sorry it's really windy out here and there's a lot of cars say either I pay the fine yep do the online course so pay the fine accept the points on your license because it's a moving violation it comes with points driving school as long as you qualify for the driving school you don't get points on your license when you complete the course but you still have to pay a fine when you complete the course traffic court it's up to it's it's uh up to the judge they have the Liberty to give you points and not give you points points they could lower the fine but they could also increase the fine they could give you court cost they could mandate you go to a driving school in person or online and other stuff like that but whatever you want to do it's totally up to you um I can't give you legal advice but a traffic attorney can give you legal advice if you have more questions all right the fine price is right here it's $281 plus the points on your license and then the website option to you'll see the website underlined that's the FH SM v.gov website that's the courses you can go to the course search and you can see what kind of courses you're eligible for to take so that you don't get points on your license if you want to do that remember the the driving school is online if you elect that but the judge can force you to go to an in-person driving school just give me a heads up all right what's that I'm just trying to make sure I get everything it's all right I don't wrong so even if I still elect for the driving school that would be up to the of the judge or no that's decid not to do if you want to go to court the judge could it's not guaranteed but the judge could say you know what no I'm going to give you a court order to go to an in-person driving course um but they could also give you a court order to also go to an online driving course as well as have up charges for like court cost if you go to trial and all that stuff um I'm just letting you know now my radar is good to go I have all the docks together and I always show up for trial so a lot of yeah a lot and again it's it's totally up to you but a lot of people go to court hoping the officer doesn't show up and the ticket gets tossed but I'm telling you I'm going to go all right all right take care okay thank you so sometimes we help our friends the Florida Highway Patrol out with Interstate enforcement and uh a lot of people ask me why do you use an unmarked car well we have been here for literally 1 minute maybe two and about a minute ago on on ways which is like a GPS app third party kind of thing that you can download from the App Store the Google Play Store we were already posted on ways and three people have already liked it since that's what part of the reasons why I'm in an unmarked usually not a marked police car now with the unmarked am I doing stuff like this where I sit in the median no I just go to the flow of traffic my point is people see this who speed they use this kind of like the people who use radar detectors and they're just looking for us they want to know where we are before they uh come up to the speed trap so if you're one of those people that speed normally and you have a radar detector or you use WS just so that you uh don't run into the police today you win but normally we're out there even in on marks and now it's up to 9 people after just taking a 30-second break Alexus [Music] [Music] hey I'm officer tring with Co Springs police I stopped you because of the Move Over Law all right what's the Move Over Law you got to know this man okay it's very important the move I didn't I'm sorry I just never drove in this like I just got back yeah from where Virginia so from where Virginia okay I'm sure it's the same rules in Virginia too so anytime you see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road or any vehicle flashing lights oh that yeah I know that I the only reason why I didn't move her the that truck next to me right it was still I didn't have room so remember I don't know if you know this or not if you can't move over because there's a vehicle next to you you're to reduce your speed 20 mi under the posted speed limit cuz you pass me at 68 all right do you have your license on your registration insurance is this your car yeah all right the temp tags expired yeah I know so I bought the car in California okay and I had to wait oh I literally had to wait until they got the what is it the registration from the DMV in California right so they finally got it and everything like that okay insurance thing and license and I finally got I finally got it I went to the DMV I think was it Wednesday right um they told me like the price and everything how much it's going to be it's expensive yeah I just haven't gotten paid yet I get paid on Wednesday you in the military I used to be I just I got a discharge for some dumb stuff that happened to Virginia okay and yeah back okay do you live on a sample still or no you do okay do you have the registration for the temp tag I think it's I think that's it right there this one that one right there correct thank you driving this I was driving my Mom's van so yeah this is the only vle I have was able to use today that's okay everybody's out gotcha all right Insurance checks out this checks out as well give me one sec let me check out a couple things I'll be right back with you so he couldn't move over because of the truck that was next to him but again you're to reduce your speed 20 mies under the posted speed limit temp4 he has a temp tag on his car usually when you sell a car in Florida the dealer will throw you a temp tag and it's a temporary tag where you're supposed to have that paper tag on your car while the while you purchase the actual tag which is like with the normal Florida tag the metal one aluminum based one but it costs money it costs a lot of money actually to register your car in Florida so he's telling me that he's waiting for him to get paid but it's already been like a few weeks it's been expired so he's got to work on getting that fixed because right now it's expired and uh he can't be driving around with an expired temp tag so after I ran the driver's license it looks like it's suspended three times he has two failure to pay citations and the other one is for him failing to complete uh some type of school in the state of Virginia so I'm going to go ask him if he knew about his license being suspended and we'll uh see what he says hey did you know your license is suspended yes I had yeah I had an attorney with my aun soy take care of that and she had told me that said I good but I also know I have to pay uh cyti yeah so I they sent me a letter in the mail and I did it to the website like I did payments okay that's when I it's still suspended so you can't drive all right um you can't you can't drive man all right you knew that you you knew your licensees sus spend in the first place shouldn't have been on the road so here's what we're going to do I'm going to issue a few tickets I'm not taking you to jail but you're going to have a court date you're going to have to show up to court okay um you're going to have to figure out someone some someone's going to have to come here and come get this car though cuz you can't drive yeah I I'll I'll see what I can do for you okay but let me let me finish doing what I'm doing over here and I'll let you know okay okay so he told me he had knowledge he admitted that he had tickets that he had to take care of and he's he's working on it this is his first offense with driving on a suspended license with knowledge so it's just a simple misdemeanor so instead of me arresting him I'm just going to do like what I did last time with the guy with no driver license he's going to get a ticket he's going to have court date he has to show up to and then the penalties the fines it's going to be up to the judge when he goes for his court date he can represent himself in court or he can talk to a traffic attorney hire one and they can help him with the case but um um we're going to ride them for driving while license suspended with knowledge first offense as well as the uh expired temp tag the move over I want it to be more education based so we'll give him a warning on that hopefully he learns from this yeah and uh instead of me Towing the car and waiting here for an hour there's literally a parking lot right here so I'll just stay behind him with my lights on he is going to park it in the first available spot and that way um I don't have to sit here on the side of the road for an hour plus potentially if they're busy I don't have to take up a tow truck driver for crashes and uh 104 and I'm using my discretion with not Towing the car because again this is his first offense if this was a continuing problem yes it would be towed but for something like this I'm going to allow him to park into the parking lot so look I'm ising you two citations I'm going to give you a break on the Move Over law where you're going to get two for the expired temp tag and you're going to get one for the um license suspended with knowledge okay so because one's criminal instead of me taking you to the jail I'm giving you this court date on the citation you have to appear in front of a judge all right all your information is right here it's the same way on your ticket as well the only thing I need from from you on these is I need your signature and I need your thumb print if you refuse to give me those two I have to take you downtown all right so you're going to sign here you're not admitting guilt you're just promising to take care of the court day that's all now above my name right here that's where you're going to sign on both citations all right so as far as the thumb print it's just a flat firm press and in the box right here with the arrow don't roll your finger cuz if you roll it it'll smear and I'll have to reprint everything flat firm press and lift straight up you're going to do it one more time I need to nope go ahead just do it one more time all right I'm going to follow you we're going to park right here the first available spot you got to park it man just the car's insured all right very good so just get your license fixed you can't drive anymore until then okay it's going to get you jammed up if you keep doing that for the so I would just so I go there and then what what happens there do they just tell me like what I got you got to go in front of a judge and they're going to they're going to set the fines and they're going to set the penalties okay yeah you're going to have to talk to them State Attorney is going to be there all that so if you want you can represent yourself and that's it or I mean if you think you know a lot about like the law and and what to say in court or you can talk to a traffic attorney and hire one and they can help you out all right so I'll follow you I have my lights on again first spot and
