You know what I mean? >> I got you. >> Well, I mean, >> can can we start from here or her I don't know about yet. >> Why? >> Because we're sitting in a car on Southern Boulevard completely stopped and I don't know if we've called anybody to come help us. That's concerning. And there is a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. So my partner's going to check her out. Okay. Make sure she's okay to have been driving. >> I I got you. >> I have a license for her. >> Okay. I got you. I lord I I understand that but unfortunately people lie to the police all the time. >> I understand. >> So we got to make sure we do our due diligence. >> Cuz here's the thing, okay? I can very strongly smell the odor of weed coming from the car. >> Maybe it's her, maybe it's you. But it's coming from the car. Your behavior is a little bit slow, lethargic. You had a hard time finding your license. It appears your car possibly ran out of gas. >> Yeah. Yes, sir. >> Um, >> these are all things that kind of lead me to believe that someone may be impaired for the purposes of driving a motor vehicle. >> Yes, sir. >> So, what I would like to do is conduct field sobriety task for the purpose of determining that impairment. Just making sure you'd be okay to drive home from here. >> Yes, sir. >> Would you be willing to complete those tasks? >> Yes, sir. >> Just stand like right there. >> Mhm. >> No. No. On my leg. I'm like I'm There we go. Turn and face me. Put your feet together. Hands down by your side. >> Also, to be honest, I do have um so my vision is slightly impaired, but it's only because of my contact. Um but that's the only thing that would impair my vision. >> I do have contact. showing a valid signal 19 1049 out of PBSO signal 19 signal 31 >> valid ID card only this with your eyes and your eyes alone do not move your head you understand >> yes sir P. >> Yes, sir. It's honestly it's my contacts to be honest because my contacts really like I have one. Yeah. Okay. Go. Go ahead. >> So I have contacts and I've done this. >> No, I understand. You can very easily do this with contacts in another. >> No, honestly, sir, it's just that because I have an aigmatism. >> So do I. >> Yeah. So it's that like when um when one context is over here, I can see it, but it's that it blurs out. >> The problem is you're not following it. >> Here. Follow it. >> Yeah. Yeah. Heat. Heat. All right. Give me a show. >> Come sit right here on this white line for me and face this way. >> Do you know your left and your right? >> Yeah. >> What side's your left? >> This my left. This is my right. >> Okay. And do you see a sign right here? >> What side? >> This line right here. Do you see it? >> Yeah. What color is it? >> It's white. >> So, what I want you to do is take your left foot and put it on the white line. Without walking anywhere, I want you to take your right foot and put it in front of the left heel to toe like this. Hands down by your side. I want you to remain in this position throughout the instructions and demonstration. Do not start the task until I tell you to do so. Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. When I tell you to and not before then, I want you to take nine heel totoe steps down the white line. When you reach the ninth step, I want you to leave your front foot on the line and with your rear foot, make a series of small steps to turn around. I then want you to take nine heel totoe steps back. Throughout the task, I want you to keep your hands down by your side. Count your steps out loud with your mouth and look down at your feet. >> So, nine steps over here, then turn around and nice. >> Yes, sir. Ma'am, sorry. Yes, ma'am. You're good. You're good. Once you start the task, do not stop until you complete the entire task. It's going to look like this. I'm going to demonstrate when I tell you to begin. One, two, three, all the way till 9. Small steps to turn around. 1 2 3 all the way till 9. Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. >> If you have no questions, go ahead and begin. I'm sorry. It was nine, sir. >> I was instructed to just mine. Okay, you can relax for a minute. Just stay right there. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay, fair. Can you just pull your shirt up a little bit just >> to remain decent? >> No, I'm so sorry. No, I I just don't want you to feel exposed or anything like that. >> It's okay, sir. >> So, do me a favor. Go ahead and put your feet together like this. Hands down by your side. I want you to remain in this position throughout the instructions of the demonstration. >> Do not start the house until I ask you to do so. Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. >> So, when I tell you to and not before that, you're going to raise whichever foot you're more comfortable with, your left, right. You're going to raise it approximately 6 in off the ground. That's about the size of a dollar bill end to end. Okay? Whichever foot you raise, you're gonna point your toes so your foot is level with the ground. Okay? With your feet or with your legs straight and your hands down by your side, I want you to look down at that raised toe. I want you to count out loud in the following manner. 1,00 1,002 1,003 and so on inside tell you to stop. Now, I do not want you to put your foot down prior to me telling you to stop. But if for some reason you do, I want you to continue counting or pick it back up and continue counting from where you left off. It's going to look like this. I'm going to demonstrate where I tell you to begin. 1,001 1,002 1,003 1,004 and so on until I tell you to stop. Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. >> If you have no questions, go ahead. >> How long I'm so sorry. How long do I have to keep it up for? >> Until I tell you to stop. >> Okay, sir. >> Okay. If you have no questions, go ahead and begin 6 in straight leg. Look down at your toe. Don't look beyond it. Look at your toe. Look at your foot. All right, you go. >> Okay. >> All right. Just stay right where you are and I want you to take your hands and bring them down by your side like this. Just just your index finger. Okay. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. So, when I tell you to and not before then, I want you to tip your head back and close your eyes. Okay? Not yet. When I tell you to, >> do not start to tap until I tell you to. But when I do tell you to, tip your head back and close your eyes. >> I'm then going to call out either left or right. >> If I say left, I want you to bring your left finger up. Touch tip of the nose. Tip your finger. Bring your hand immediately back down by your side. >> Yes, sir. >> If I say right, I want you to bring your right finger up. Touch the tip of the nose. Tip of your finger. Bring your hand immediately back down by your side. Yes, sir. >> Okay. When I say the tip of your finger, I mean this portion right here. Okay? >> Yes, sir. >> Not the pad, not the nail bed, not the sides. >> Yes, sir. >> When I say tip of your nose, I mean this portion right here. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> Not the nostrils, not the bridge, not the lip. This tip to tip's going to look just like this. >> I mean this portion right here. >> Hi there. Digging around in the car is probably not a good idea. Okay. >> I'm looking for my phone. I'm sorry. >> H >> I'm looking for my phone. I apologize. >> I I got you. But we shut the door and we start digging. It's not a good thing. Okay. >> I understand. >> Thank you. >> Thank you. So sorry, sir. >> So when I tell you to begin, it's going to look go like this with your head back and your eyes closed. Left, right. Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. >> All right. Put your hands back down with the way they were. >> Hold on. Can I >> Absolutely. >> Thank you so much. >> Like this. Just your pointer finger. There you go. Tip your head back. Close your eyes. Close your eyes. We tip your head back a little bit further. Close your eyes. Left. >> I'm so sorry. Uh, can I clarify? >> Uh-huh. So, do I have to keep my nose here? >> I touch it. Bring your head back immediately like I told you. >> Okay. I'm so sorry. Thank you. >> Tip your head back. Close your eyes. Right. Keep your head back. Left. Right. Right. >> Left. All right. You can relax for a second. >> Okay. >> Feet together. your hands down by your side for me. I want you to rem this position throughout the instructions and demonstration. Do not start this task until I ask you to do so. >> Do you know how long half a minute is? >> 30 seconds. >> So, for this next task, it's very simple. When I tell you to and not before, then you're going to tip your head back and you're going to close your eyes. >> Yes, sir. >> When I tell you to begin, I want you to estimate 30 seconds in your head, however you want to do it. Okay? >> When 30 seconds is up, you're going to tip your head forward, open your eyes, and say, "Stop. It's going to look like this. I'm going to demonstrate. With your head back and your eyes closed and I tell you to begin at 30 seconds, stop. You understand? >> Yes, sir. >> Go ahead. Sit your head back. Close your eyes and begin. Hello. >> All right. See, you're pretty smart. >> Credit you can say so. >> Yeah, I guess you could say so. >> So, feet together, hands down by yourself. >> Yeah. >> So, for this next task, what I want you to do, okay, is when I tell you to not before then, you're going to tilt your head back and you're going to close your eyes. >> Yes, sir. >> When I tell you to begin and not before, then you're just going to say your alphabet from A to Z. >> Yes, sir. >> You're going to do it without singing or rhyme in a nice slow manner like this. Okay? So when I tell you to A B C D all the way to letter Z. >> Yes sir. >> Once you start do not stop until you complete the entire alphabet. Do not skip any letters.
