On March 4th, 2024, police responded to multiple reports involving the same female subject at a local park. In her first encounter with officers, she was cooperative and no arrestable offenses were observed. She was given a warning and allowed to go. But as the day continued, so did the calls. And this time, her behavior had escalated. Here's what happened next. >> You right here. >> Did you call? >> That's what we're trying to figure out. But she's been literally everybody that they've been walking up with their kids and everything. She's been taunting everybody. >> Okay. >> So, we've been dealing with her all day throughout town. So, walk me through what happened before we got here. Um, so when I pulled up, um, my fianceé pretty much told me that she was out here. You know, I guess she was saying before somebody gave her something. She was trying to name names. He said she was speaking in Cray. Um, when I pulled up, she was just in the parking lot over there by the park just standing there and then she just started saying things out of the blue. Um, someone else pulled up and someone else pulled up and she basically tried to reach into their door. She didn't try to reach into my door, but she reached into the other person's door. And pretty much everybody that's been pulling up, she's been doing the same thing. >> Has she been pulling on door handles or just reaching in their car? >> People that have been coming out of their car. >> How many uh >> pretty much every car she just been like walking by just trying to open like see if the doors open. >> Well, how many how many cars would you say she pulled on? >> About a good six. >> Six of them. >> Eight. The one car she opened up the back door, they took off. They immediately left. And then the Tesla, the people weren't even able to get out and she was taunting them and they just pulled off and left. >> Okay. So, she opened uh up two doors that got into two cars >> and she just been like tugging. >> That guy in the blue van, too. She was in his car. I don't know if she threw something at it or what, but she was messing with him. >> So, she got into it. >> She opened up the door, I guess. I guess before she even was able to get into it, they drove off. >> So all these people drove away. >> Mhm. >> Most I don't know why that they're not I'm surprised that they didn't call us. >> I I thought they did, but you know, like my >> only one person called us and they wanted to be anonymous. So >> my boyfriend kept saying she's been out here all morning. Like somebody dropped her off. >> How long How long would you say this has been going on for? >> For a good hour before y'all got here. >> So an hour long she was trying door handles. like I don't know if she was high off or something and she was coming down but I came to the car she tried to speak to me and was asking me what's my name I was like you don't know me and she just kept blurting out random things so I left it as that. >> Mhm. >> I got my kids but she wasn't you know like attacking or anything. I told her she better stay away before somebody mess her up and she just been going around the park walking around the park just saying random things like talking to people and >> screaming. Was she screaming like that? cuz she was mainly in the parking lot. Like she didn't really come over where we are. >> So she was just hanging out always like circling the parking lot or what? >> Like we said we'll tell her you know. Yeah. Like circling the parking lot just waiting for people to pull up taunting people, >> you know. We told her we'll give her something to eat or whatever, you know, so she calm down but she's just been blurting out random. >> Did she take food from you guys? She >> No, she took water. >> Okay. Um do you have your ID on you? >> Um no. >> Did she try to pull in your guys' car? >> No. For some reason, she definitely didn't cuz like we just kept telling her like, >> "You're gonna get hurt, so don't do it." Which um well, that's my mother-in-law's car, the white Honda. >> She didn't pull on that nothing like that. None of your cars. >> Nope. And then my sister's car is parked across on the other side, the black Chevy. >> Um from my knowledge, when my sister pulled up, she got close to the car, but you know, my be my boyfriend was just telling her like, "Yo, my kids are in the car, so you better not." The female was arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, two counts of attempted vehicle burglary, resisting with violence, and resisting without violence. On July 12th, 2024, she entered a guilty plea and was adjudicated guilty on two charges: battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting without violence. The state declined to prosecute the remaining charges of attempted vehicle burglary and resisting with violence. She was sentenced to 130 days in the county jail with credit for 130 days already served. The court also ordered restitution to both a private victim and the town of Lantana, either by agreed order or through a future hearing. She was assessed $1,158 in total court related costs and fees, including standard court costs, prosecution expenses, public defender fees, and mandatory assessments. Payment is due by July 13th, 2026 under a 2-year payment plan. At first appearance, her total bond was set at $4,000, though one charge was released on recgnizance.
