On August 16th, officers were called to the Rainbow Clothing Store in Lantana after the manager reported a shoplifting incident. >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. So, let's get the details of what she stole and what >> anybody in the >> She took out the the orange shoes. >> Can we go inside? >> Yeah. >> Um, who saw her? >> I Well, I did. >> She come out of one quick one statement. Okay. first lesson in date of birth. >> Uh Sharon, >> you want to tell the truth? >> The whole truth. >> Okay. So, tell me what you saw. What happened? >> She came in with a rainbow bag. That's how >> So, she already had a rainbow bag. >> Yes. That's how they do it. >> So, we think that, you know, get sidetracked and say, "Oh, they're coming out to buy something already and whatever." >> So, she went in the shoe department and um I had her go around where she was while I'm at up front here. And then she keep walking back and forth, back and forth, checking to see who's looking to see who is up front, who is watching, not. So I went in between the um hallways there and I saw her putting stuff in her bag and then I approached her. So pair of shoes, >> an orange pair of shoes in the bag. >> Orange pair of shoes. >> But I approached her and she >> I said, "Get that off your effing bag." I did tell her that and she took it and she dropped it on the floor and then she proceeded to leave and it's like you have more stuff in your bag. Give it to me. >> And that's what we do. >> So she currently does not have any property she attempted >> right now and I don't know in the rainbow bag if she has anything else when she walked in. >> Got it. Okay. >> So you only saw >> she took from outside or anywhere else? >> Uh did you see her place any other items in the bag? No, >> but you only saw the orange shoes and when you approached her, she dropped them and she left. Unknown if she has anything else in there. >> Okay. >> So, if she does have something else, >> prosecution. If not, trespass. >> Coming up. >> Charlie went out of the unit. >> She attempted to steal a orange pair of shoes. She dropped them in the store. It is unknown if she has anything in the bag. If she does, 10 for prosecution. If not, it's going to be a trespass only. >> Yeah. And she found the sensor where she was. So, I'm assuming I I know I'm not supposed to assume, but she was the only one in that area. She found the sensor and she brought it to me. So, she took stuff. She has a picture of her from the back. >> All right. Well, >> from the back. >> From the back. Okay, that's fine. Did you see anything? Yeah, I was right there, but I didn't see her putting stuff. But I was there. Watch. I'm the one on >> the short black hair with a big earring. >> Yes. Yes. Yes. Black hoop earring. >> Yes. And um black sandals. I don't know if she came in with that. >> She has black sandals with rhinestone on it. >> Good advice. Black sandals with rhinestones on it. And it's from here. We actually have that. >> Yeah. >> Can you confirm she has any merchandise? >> Yeah. I got a black female with a black dress coming out. >> Charlie, one other unit. She attempted to steal uh orange pair of shoes. She dropped from it if she has anything in the bag. >> If she does for in prosecution if not it's going to be a trespass only >> also from Lennena Police Department. Okay. Right now we're just making contact with you. All right. >> So don't go anywhere right now. You've been detained. >> All right. >> Sounds like a good plan. >> You have ID with you? You're welcome. >> Can I have your name? >> Tamika. All right. Tamika. >> 5 to one. She has a short black hair with a big ear loop earring. >> Can I have your name, please? >> Um, so I just gave it to you. T A M I K A. >> T A M I K. Last name. >> All right. One second. Let's do this. All right. We're not going to play this game right now. Okay. No, no, no. >> You're being detained right now. All right. >> I'm just asking questions. >> Well, I'm about to answer some questions. You got a middle name? >> I told the lady in the store that I'm not >> Do you have a middle name? >> Yeah. I put the shoes in the wrong box and she like, "Oh, put them back." I thought she touched my bag. >> I put the shoes in the box. >> That was the only thing I touched in the store. I went straight to the shoes and straight out of the store. >> I was in there shopping yesterday and I told her um you know I put the shoes back. I said I'm sorry I put the shoes in the wrong spot. I didn't even put them in my bag. I set them on top of the bag and so she she said put them back and I put them back. She said you need to leave. I said okay I'm leaving. >> Okay. >> And then I said she she follow me in the store and I said please don't do that. >> Well like I said you you're not under arrest right now. You're being detained for investigation purposes. All right. No problem. >> So that's that's the only reason why you don't handcuff right now. Okay. >> No problem. >> All right. >> I came in the store with all this stuff on. This is their stuff. But I bought this stuff yesterday. >> Okay. Where you from? >> From my hotel. >> Where you from? >> From uh from here. >> From here. >> Or like like a city of Lakeworth or West Palm or Boy Beach or >> My thing is that's u illegal because I didn't try to exit the store where her property. >> Oh well. This is why I'm saying this is why we got to do investigation right >> now. If if not. >> Exactly. We just ruined our job at the end, right? >> Exactly. >> I know she she didn't have to be that extra and I was hoping I wouldn't be that extra. >> Okay. But like she's got a buzzer on like a little >> Gotcha. Gotcha. >> As long as you're being cool with us, like I say, you're going to be treated with respect and being cool. That's all. Sounds good. Yeah, I'm concerned about I told her I say um I said that's a that's the wrong box now or whatever. And she act like she was going to grab me. So I just put the shoes right there and like got away from her. She going to touch me my other dresser. >> I got cash on me. You know I got $50 in my titty right here. >> Okay. >> You got more cash than I do. That's for sure. Yeah, >> it's all right. Keep it there. Keep it there. >> And I got I got a head injury on my vision. >> I got to keep it. Keep it keep it to your cell phone now. All right. >> Not >> back at the hotel. So, I'm not feeling. Mhm. Thank you. Hey, >> can I get you for a second, ma'am? >> Can I get you for a second? >> No. What do you need? >> I need you to walk me into the female bathroom so I'm not walking down anybody. >> We got to go. Whoever. >> Okay. Wow. What's up? Um, there's a lady who may have been shoplifting from Rainbow and we're just making sure she didn't stash anything in the bathroom. >> Rainbow? >> Yeah. The uh the clothing shop over there next. >> Hello. [cheering] She was fine. >> Yeah, she's we got her outside. We just got to make sure she didn't >> [music] >> an hour ago. >> How long ago? >> An hour ago. >> Oh, well, she just walked up. So, >> no. [ __ ] >> Yeah. People uh people don't have any respect for No. I would also check anywhere around here. You really can't see nothing. You can leave pictures of items that are located on our purpose. Just make sure if it's items are worth that they sell at the store. I didn't see anybody stashing anything. I know. They thought they caught someone who might have been shot. Just double checking everything in there. >> [ __ ] you know, you catching me way off the property and I I haven't taken anything. >> We're just again, this is why we do investigations, right? We still got to do our job. We got to find out what's going on first, right? >> So, all of that other stuff is my stuff. They don't sell that [ __ ] >> The earrings they sell, but I bought all this shoes and stuff I walked in the store wearing them. Matter of fact, like this is a pure off of that area. >> Oh, >> they don't sell that hair stuff. >> I ain't coming out like that. >> Pigeon tower found in the back just three or four is going to be sending you pictures of items that were located in the bag that was on our person. Just make sure if it's items that were that they sell at the store. >> Yeah. >> What about you? >> No, I'm talking about her ear. Oh, that >> nothing. No question. Nothing. >> Absolutely. Because we're going to be asking some questions and you've been detained. I got to read this to you. All right. I am required to warn you before you make any statement that you have the following constitutional rights. Okay? You have the right to remain silent and not answer any question. Do you understand? >> Yes. Any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily given. Do you understand? Any statement can and will be used against you in the court of law. Do you understand? >> Yeah. >> All right. The other officer is going to come here ask you some questions. Okay. Just wait for them. All right. >> They going to run the camera back cuz like all I did was straight to the shoes. I just don't want to confuse you cuz like what I had on yesterday and my stuff that I came in the store. >> Where did you get these? >> From that store yesterday. That's what I'm saying. If you watch the video, I can't. So, I know you might have to check the camera. >> You got a receipt for it? >> Um, hell no. Receipt from yesterday. >> If you can provide us with a receipt that you bought yesterday, I'll let you go right now. But if you can >> nit I mean she didn't stop me. She didn't say like she said I was trying to steal. She caught me with some shoes. Not with nothing else. Like the camera should show. They got to give me evidence that I stole, right? So, the camera should show that. I didn't go nowhere. I only been in the store like five minutes. Nah, I don't even have the um See, it's another pair of earrings in there that was worn already. They're in there loose that came off of that clipboard. You could tell obviously like I'm not just going to take the earrings off and on and [ __ ] >> The um the the sensor and stuff is already popped. I like this. >> How'd you buy the earrings? >> Cash. >> Cash. They give you a receipt. >> Yeah. have it. >> Um, no. All right. >> That's how they gave me the bag. I got the bag in the bag. You know what I mean? In the store bag cuz illegal. I mean, it's legal. So, y'all can talk my ride and [ __ ] All right. As of right now, you being placed under arrest. Yeah. Merchandise. Yeah. Do you have anything inside your dress? >> Nah, I can produce a receipt, but it's at the freaking hotel. >> Okay. What's this brown stuff right here? >> That's a cigar wrapper. >> I can put a receipt at my hotel room. What? >> No, she got some stuff in there. right there. >> Okay. >> Yeah, but I got a receipt. I mean, it's just going to matter. We going to jail or not? Cuz the other stuff I know down. >> Do you have anything else? >> What? >> On you? >> Oh, no. I don't have any new drugs or anything to hurt. Uh, I don't think so. >> Y'all can't give me a ticket. >> Ticket. >> All right, go check the cameras cuz I didn't steal anything. I don't know why. >> It's up to the other officer. He's going to be asking some questions and make a determination. All right. But the hotel I'm at is a um hypoxo super hydro. >> What room? >> Um 314 She says she's got a receipt at her hotel super I'm going to turn this back over to them. >> Like if I buy the earrings again, do you think she'll be okay with like dropping charges? I don't mind doing that either. >> Like I said, ma'am, uh you also going to have to make that determination. All right. All I'm doing right now is helping you out, transporting you to the station. Okay, that's all I have to do. I'll put that off. All right. >> In total, the store recovered a pair of orange shoes the manager saw her drop, and [music] officers found six pairs of earrings inside the bag she was carrying, together, [music] valued at just over $6.
