February 10th, 2026, just after 11:20 p.m. An officer is driving toward an intersection as traffic waits at a red light. As he approaches, the light turns green and the vehicles ahead begin moving. One car in front of him stands out almost immediately, and he moves in behind it. Within moments, the driver begins accelerating, pushing the speed past 100 mph, eventually reaching approximately 107. The officer continues following behind. A short time later, the vehicle's brake lights flash several times as if the driver is tapping the brakes. That's when the officer activates his emergency lights and initiates the traffic stop. I can finish if I can get a 94. We were going 100 on the bridge. Good evening, Officer Cuffner with the Ste Police Department. The reason I stopped you, okay, was for speed. >> 100 on the bridge. >> Really? >> Yes. He has He has my license. >> Do Do you mind if I get yours? >> Why? >> Do you mind? Why? >> Am I talking to you or am I talking to him? >> I'm just asking. Honestly, I'm just trying to learn the laws. I'm a correction officer. He's also a correction officer. I'm just trying to understand like why. I He doesn't mind giving it to you. >> Okay. Am I talking to him or you? I'm still trying to figure that out. >> You're talking to him. But >> here you go, man. No, no. >> You want my fit ID or you want mine? >> You can just hold on to that. It's fine. You're cool. >> Just asked for his ID >> and I just said like why? I don't mind. Like he was >> we just try to get everybody's in the car. >> That's why I said he's 100% willing to give it. >> Yeah. Yeah. No, we just >> Why? I'm not I'm not going to drive away. >> What's up? >> Can I close my window? I'm not going to drive away. >> Just leave it open. Just leave it open. Come on. >> Leave it open and step on out. Okay. >> He'll be right here watching your car with him. So, what is that in the center console? >> That's his drink. >> His drink? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Can I have my keys, please? >> Just leave him. Come on. >> Just leave, ma'am. >> Over here. >> I need you to stand over here. >> He doesn't own the car. >> Okay. >> Can I just have my face? >> I know where. >> No. >> Ma'am, you you got to listen cuz I'm going to explain to you what's going on. I have reason to believe you're impaired tonight. Okay. Your driving pattern. Even before I had you going 100 on the bridge, you were all over the lane. Your eyes are watery, glossy. I smell alcohol. You have an alcoholic beverage in your car. >> Okay. >> Can't run your field soiety test. Make sure you're safe to drive. Your brain looks good. I can get you out of here. But >> just because of everything that I've observed right now, and if you work in corrections, you got to understand it from my point of view. >> I completely understand. I'm not going to >> that's concerning. >> Okay. >> I understand. Um, >> I have a vape right here. >> I'll take it. I'll throw it in your car. >> Yeah, just put >> What we're going to do is we're going to do it over there. Um, that way Good light. >> Can you just get my keys for me? >> You guys can hold it. Whatever. >> Who is he? >> He works with me. >> What happened? >> He works with me >> in what? >> At the same jail I work at. >> Oh, okay. So, he works corrections, too, as well. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Okay. Who? What was the other car? >> Oh, I have no idea. >> That SUV? >> I really don't know who. >> You don't know who they are? Okay. All right. Um, no. Okay, we'll go over here. Let's walk over here. You go first. Yes. Uh, can you go in my trunk and grab my tape? >> It's open. We're going to do them over here. Okay. >> Can you just get my keys? Cuz I I just >> No, I can't I can't grab your keys right now just because of my suspicion. I'm not gonna allow keys on you right now. >> No, I don't want them. But I don't know him like that. Like I >> Why is he in your car? >> Cuz he's right here. Where is your keys? >> Where's the keys? >> Um >> she said it right there. >> Give me the keys. >> Who are you to her? >> Uh we're just >> I wish I wish. >> It's your mom. >> You want me to step out really quick? Sorry. Oh, I just You're fine staying inside. I just need the keys to the car. >> She put them in the glove. >> She's concerned about them. So, I'm going to leave them in a place where >> she won't be concerned. Will she blow off? >> Yeah, you're fine. >> Yeah. >> When you get the keys, uh, just show me. >> I'll be real with you. >> Whatever he's saying is right. >> What's up? I'm having him grab the keys and then we're just going to place them on my car. Is that okay? >> Whatever you need to do with it. >> That way you can keep an eye on him if >> I don't want the keys. I just want to make sure he doesn't have them. Whatever you do, >> I understand that. That's why we're getting them right now. >> I know that I did what I did. >> I just don't need my keys like absolutely out of place. >> Okay. All right. That's fine. I understand that. So, >> you could even search my car. There's no drugs. Okay. >> Like, I'm getting my car wrapped this week on the 18th. >> How come there's a Connecticut tag on there? Did you >> I just moved here November 8th. >> How long ago? >> November. November 8th. Yeah, >> you got to get a Florida tag on that. >> This car is registered to my ex husband. >> Okay. Well, he's got to get a Florida tag on it if you're >> This is my car, though. >> This is my car, but it's registered to my ex-husband. >> Well, you've been in Florida for a couple months, so >> but this is finance, so I can't really just do that. >> Whatever you got to do to work it out, just make sure. How does that work though? It's in his name like you know getting register. >> Does he live here in Florida or does he live in Connecticut? >> He's in Connecticut. >> And you're using the car? >> I'm on the insurance. >> Do you like Okay. You're on the insurance >> and I'm a >> Is this like primarily your car though? So you use it or >> It's primarily his, but I'm co-signing. >> Okay. Yeah. And now you would just uh you just go to um you have to get it registered through DMV. >> But like how would you do that if it's in his name? >> Yeah. So if you're cosign you and him do it together. >> But like Okay. So connect it there, right? Like Oh, you're making me nervous like that. >> What do you mean? >> You just keep Sorry. Continue. I'm just trying to learn how it is to be a correction officer in Connecticut or in Florida. Right. >> Mhm. >> And I'm a 5 foot girl. Mhm. >> Trying to be tough or whatever. >> Uh we're going to do them over here. Let's go. >> Let's go for it. >> They got your keys. So, it's got with that officer. Is that okay? >> Let's go. >> Okay. It was not in his possession anymore. So, you don't have to worry about that. As long as >> my car is in position. >> Oh, look at this. Perfect. Right over here. See this white line? >> Yes, sir. >> Nice straight even white line. >> I'm going to start by checking your eyes. Okay. Um, do you have anything that would affect your ability to walk, talk, turn, things of that nature? >> I had a couple dreams, but this has >> Okay. But no medical conditions, nothing like that? >> Absolutely not. >> Okay. Um, are you wearing contacts right now? >> No. >> Prescribe glasses? >> No. >> Okay. What I'm gonna have you do is stand with your feet together, arms down by your side as so. >> Can I ask you a question? >> Yes. >> Am I going to lose like being a being a correction officer? >> So, the field, it's not a matter of like win or lose. >> It's to make sure you're safe to drive. That's why I did a Florida standard field soiety test cuz if you can do these simple tasks then you should have no issue driving, right? So you understand? >> Not really. >> All right. Well, >> so like Okay. >> You just got to listen to what I'm listening. >> Like I said, if everything was good, we can get you out of here. But we got I got to run you through these. You know, you said it yourself. You did acknowledge that you're going pretty fast. You've already told me that you had a couple drinks. Um, so I'm just want to make sure you're safe, that's all. All right. So, just like this. Stand with your feet together, arms down by your side as so. Do you see this blue light? Do you mind tapping it for me? Like this? Perfect. You're going to remain in this position. >> I'm like, my eyes are here. >> Bring it down a little. How about that? Is that good right there? Okay. So remain in this position. Okay. You're going to keep your head and your head still and only focus your eyes on the blue light. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> Do not move your head. >> Do you understand everything I told you? >> Yes, sir. >> Do you need to go over anything? >> No. >> I'm just really cold. I'm also anemic, but all good. Next one's going to be the walking turn. Okay. using this white line. Um, what I'm going to have you do, okay, is at the very beginning of that line, you're going to put your left foot on it. Okay? Like this. You see I have it. So, put your left foot on the line. Beginning of the line. Yes. >> I'm like literally freezing. >> Put your left foot on the line. >> Okay. >> There you go. >> I don't think I could do this cuz I'm I'm actually anxious and nervous and anemic. >> Anemic? >> Yeah. I don't >> You take any medication for that? I'm sorry. >> Anything? >> You don't eat meat >> at all? >> Okay. What? How does that affect your How does that affect your ability to walk? >> I have low iron. I'm freezing. >> I don't do drugs. I don't I don't do any of that. I could try this, but what is it like 50 55°? Do >> you want me to take this jacket in the car or anything? >> Do you have a jacket or anything in the car? >> I think I might actually. I might be on my passenger side. He'll grab it for you. >> It's on the seat. >> I I understand that you're cold. I'll >> do it again. >> I understand. We're going to grab the jacket for you. >> Um I understand that you're cold, but I'm wearing short sleeves and >> I can do it perfectly fine. >> I'm going to demonstrate for you. >> I already admitted I drank a little bit, so >> I'm willing to do it. So, >> well, he's going to grab the jacket for you. We're going to grab a jacket so that way >> try right now cuz there's no cars going by so I'm not that >> Okay. >> Yes. So, left foot on the line, right foot in front of your left, heel to toe as so. >> Can I do no shoes? >> Yeah. So, right foot in front of your left, heel to toe, exactly like how I have it right now. Okay, there you go. So, arms down by your side. You're going to remain in this position until I finish giving you the instructions. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> So, start. >> There's no cars coming, so you're good. When I tell you to start, you're going to take nine heel totoe steps down this line. I'm going to demonstrate for you. Okay. With each step, you're going to count back in the position, please. Yes, sir. >> There you go. With each step, you're going to count out loud as so. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. Do nine steps. Okay. Once you hit that nine, >> you guys did not see me shaking. I I don't see you shaking. >> I mean, it's it's a little chilly, but it's not it's not how it was. >> I'm literally anemic. >> Yeah, >> I understand. I understand that. >> No. >> Are you going to do the task? >> I'm trying to, but I feel like I'm going to fail it and lose my job. I'm willing to try it, but >> Okay. Well, it's a yes or no. It's a yes or no. Are you going to do it or not? >> Do you not understand? Like me trying to tell you what I >> I know. I understand it. So that's why I'm asking you, are you going to do them or not? >> But I came from being a felon and becoming a correction officer. >> So I'm trying to fight this battle. >> I understand. >> I know I'm doing it wrong by drinking and driving. >> Are you going to do them or not? We can't We can't We're not going to debate this. >> But I'm freezing. >> Okay. You're willing to do it. That's not a yes or no. I need a yes or no. Can you just >> It's It's simple. You know, you got to answer it. >> Can you just like feel me shaking right now? >> It's a yes or no. But I'm going to fail because I'm shaking. >> So, do you want to do it or do you not want to do it? That's That's >> I have to do it because if I deny it, >> I'm I'm asking you yes or no. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Not >> I'm going to start from the beginning again. >> I got it. Can we just do it? I'm going to I have to give you the full instructions. Okay. You >> already did. >> No, I didn't. >> Okay. Let me at least finish giving you the instructions and then >> it it hurts because I'm freezing. >> I'm anemic. I have low iron. >> Okay. Like I said, we're not going to keep doing this back and forth. Either you do them or you don't. >> I said I'm going to do it. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I'm going to instruct you how to do it and demonstrate it for you. Okay. >> Yes, sir. So, left foot on the line, right foot in front of your left, heel to toe. As so. You're going to take nine heel to toe steps down this line. >> Yes, sir. >> Can you get in the starting position for me, please? >> Right now? >> Yes. Arms down by your side. Yes. Just sit like that. Arms down by your side. So, when I tell you to start, nine heel to toe steps. I'm going to count out loud. 1 2 Don't start. >> 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. Once you hit that nine step, we'll take a couple steps back here for officer safety. >> I'm going to mess up my six. >> Okay. >> Once you hit the nine step, please can I finish giving the instructions? Once you hit your ninth step, you're going to pivot with your foot back down the line as so. See how I did it? Just like this. >> Nine heel to toe steps as so. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. >> Do you not understand the >> I'm getting it. I'm literally getting it. >> Do you do you want me to go over anything with you? >> No, I don't. Do >> you have any questions? >> I don't know. You may start. >> Are you counting? >> Do you want me to count or you? >> You have to count. >> Okay. Okay. Um, this is going to be the last task. Okay. You're going to stand with your feet together, arms down by your side. It's going to be the one leg stand. Okay. Um, when I tell you to start, you're going to raise whatever leg you feel more comfortable with. I'm going to use my right leg cuz that's what I'm comfortable with. six inches off the ground, keeping your foot parallel to the ground as so. You're going to maintain visual on your foot throughout the entire time. You're going to count out loud as so. 1 1,00 2 100 3 100 4 100 continuing until I tell you to stop. Arms down by your side. Okay? 6 in off the ground. It's like if you were to put your foot on a soda can. See? See how I have it right now? I haven't put my foot my foot down at all. I've been able to do this perfectly fine even in this weather. Okay. Do you have any questions? >> No. >> Comments, concerns? >> Absolutely. >> Okay, you may start. >> I'm so Don't worry about it. Put your hands behind your back >> because I fell the last one. It's not a pass or a fail. >> Are these too tight? >> No, sir. >> Can I put my shoes on? >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> We're actually What we're going to do is um >> Do you have gloves? >> Yeah. >> I don't have mommy. >> Oh, here. I got some. >> I'm just going to bring you to the car and then we'll put them on. That way. >> Do you guys realize I just lost the show? >> I know. I did the wrong thing. >> Let's go. >> You just said I could put my shoes on. Yeah, >> I'm going to put them on for you in the car. Okay, >> we're just going to sit you down first. >> Why are you doing that? >> Because >> Can you not push me in your salt tooth? >> Because of what I observed. And >> I know what I did. >> Um, okay. Then you should know not to have been driving in this. >> Are you serious? Yes. Very serious. >> The way you're driving, ma'am, quite frankly, you could have hurt someone. All right. 100 miles an hour on the bridge. If there was a car in front of you that had to stop for, let's say there's something running across the street or a kid running across the street or a person running across the street. >> Do you not realize that? >> You would have made them go flying. >> I was a felon and I >> take a seat. >> Stop. Please stop. >> Stop. Stop doing this. You you don't want to catch an additional charge. Okay, it's not worth it, right? >> Take a seat. >> What charge am I getting? >> Resisting if you keep doing what you're doing. >> Okay, what charge am I getting in? >> DI. >> And then you're also being charged with a super speeder. >> A what? >> So, two charges. >> So, 100 miles an hour and then DUI. >> Do you have my license? >> Yep. >> And my key. >> Do you have anything on you? I'm gonna have a female deputy search you at the jail. You have any drugs, anything on you? Because you go to the jail and they find drugs, it's an additional charge bringing it into the jail. Is that a yes or no? >> Absolutely no. >> That's all you need. >> Um, do you want her to swing your feet out? >> Can I just have my shoes? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Swing your feet out. I'll put them on for you. Can you move him then? >> I can. >> We're not taking the handcuffs off. Unfortunately, >> I'm not asking. >> Okay. If you could All right, I'll put them on the I'll put them right on the floor for you. >> Put them on. >> You want me to put them on for you? >> Okay. All right. We're going to just make sure they're on there. Might hurt. >> Understand where I'm >> all right. at least. All right, that one's good. You can slide that one on. I'll push it. >> Yeah, you'll you'll push them. >> No. Can you help me? >> Well, you got this other one on here. >> Wait, can you help me? >> Yeah. >> All right, you pull that. >> No, pull the other side. >> Pull the what? >> The other side. Go over there. Wait. >> I don't want to hurt you. Okay. >> I'm not going to get hurt. >> Okay. >> And you're going to pull this side. And then the like I just need my shoes on then. I can't help it. >> Now, can you fix that? >> Yeah. >> All right. Let's do the same thing with the other one. >> Can you give me an ice cream? Cuz I know you understand that. >> What? >> I know. I did wrong, man. >> Yeah. No, you're you're on. So, >> I'm not mad at it. I know. >> Yeah. I'm not saying you're mad, but you Okay. >> No. >> Oh, okay. >> I'm okay. You're like not doing the same thing. Like do the fingers on this side and fingers on this side. >> No. There you go. >> There you go. >> No fingers. >> There. There we go. All right. You can swing your feet back in the car. Okay. >> What What do you want to know? I'll tell you. >> So, I'm going be I'm going to be real with you. Okay. You're driving while intoxicated. Okay. I know you're drunk. You know you're drunk. Okay. >> I know. I I get I get that that you're celebrating having you know good night but >> it's an excuse >> but you got to you got to do it responsibly, right? You know, if if you were in the back of an Uber, get as drunk as you want for all I care, right? But when you're behind a wheel, that's when it gets real. >> I was trying to be a correction officer like he was like he was like I'm not with the [ __ ] >> Yeah. I can't just like get over the drinking. >> Yeah. No, it's Drinking's no good. You don't want to drink. Really? >> I used to do drugs, so I admit it. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Like >> I all that extra like I came from Connecticut. >> Uh-huh. >> You know what? >> Yeah. You don't want to do you don't want to do any any drinking, any drugs. It's >> really It's not going to be any good for you. You know, nothing wrong with having a drink when you're you know, have have a drink or two when you get home. Like, you know, that's fine. But >> I can't help it. you know, there's, you know, we we all have a have an Achilles heel and, you know, hopefully I don't I don't want to say and use this as like a learning experience. I'm not the one arresting you or anything like that, but you know, hopefully hopefully you know, you you you only grow from this, right? Um hopefully that's that's what happens here. Um and yeah. All right. I'll tell you what, let me put your seatelt on here and I'm >> like loosen this a little bit. I'm not going to get out. >> Uh no, they should be okay. Let me see if they're all right. I know you can fit your fingernail. >> Yeah. Yeah, I I can fit my finger in there. >> No, I'm not going to get out. I promise you. >> No, it's okay. It should be It should be okay. Let me tighten this up here. All right. You should be good now. All right. Um >> can you just just this one? >> Which one? Which one? Your right or your left? >> My left. >> Your left. Okay. >> Just a little bit. >> How much can you twist out of here? Here, let me undo the seat belt again. There you go. Now you can twist. >> I'm not going to get out. >> No, you can keep the seat belt on. >> Okay. Your left one. >> Yes, sir. >> That's good. >> As soon as I see a little bit of light here. This This left one right here. Okay. >> Just want to make sure I'm getting the right one cuz it's I don't want to say it's pretty loose. >> Right there. Right there. >> Hold on. Hold on. >> There. That's perfect. Don't. Now, don't flip your hand out of it cuz I'm sure I won't >> because you don't I'm telling you, you don't >> you left this off, though. >> How does he You don't want that charge. You You don't want your hands out of my charge. I know I'm going to get a charge, but >> Yeah, but you know, it's >> I don't even All right. Well, you What's your first name again? I don't even know your first name. >> How does that help? >> No. >> Is my car getting told? Can I like call my mom or something? What do you want with the car? >> Uh, >> what do you want with our car? >> It's hand towed. >> Okay. >> Can I call my mom or something? Where's your Where's your phone? Where's everything? Wallet. Phone. >> It's in my car. >> Where is it? >> In my car. >> I know that, but what? >> It might be in the the metal compartment. >> Okay. >> With my badge. >> Okay. >> Anything you want to bring to the jail other than those? Just phone and wallet. >> My license and my keys. >> Actually, you left my keys. Yes, the keys are going to the tow company cuz it's being towed. >> Can Can I get my mom to pick it up or something? >> No. >> Uh, just per policy. It has to get towed. >> I know you're doing your job. >> And I know I did the wrong thing. I'm getting a charge. I understand. I just came here from Connecticut and I chose to drunk and drive. I'll take that accountability for that. But can you like not tell that car? Cuz that's not in my name. That car is in my ex-boyfriend's name. >> I understand that, but for policy, I have to tell the vehicle. You're being arrested. So, >> that's fine. >> I can't just I can't park it here and just say >> they can come get it. >> No, we're not doing that. We're not going to have officers sit here and wait for your mom who's, you know, going to be 30 an hour, 2 hours out, you know. >> Yeah. >> By the way, I'm not holding up these officers cuz >> you made the dumb decision tonight of drinking and driving. >> So, um You don't need to. >> No, he's good to go. >> So, can you check my gun? >> Yep. >> I'm going to grab your phone and your wallet. Okay. >> Can you grab her phone? Is it in there? Phone and wallet. >> I I respect >> I've been doing this a long time. >> I even asked her like, "You want me to drive?" Like, "Bro, like, I'm okay." >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, >> I don't I don't like when he when uh I don't know who started this. >> That's Yeah, that's his car. That's my car back there. He told he was like, "Oh, like he was saying the speed and I was like, >> yeah, >> I know >> cuz her car was like covering the speedometer." >> Yeah. Yeah.
