mud all over him. Dried mud like he's been out for a little while. It's a dirty diaper. It's down to his legs and his he's exposed. I'm not sure. Is there a reason why your son is running around in a disgusting diaper? Who knows how long he's been running around right now? No, sir. No, sir. Okay. There's marijuana everywhere. Yeah. Some parents don't just fail their children, they destroy them. But what happens when police show up to confront them with their severe neglect? What? Okay, so your kids are upstairs. She said they're upstairs. We've been trying to paint the rooms because um they keep smearing crap door. We need to go. There's a cop at the door. Hi guys. What are you doing? Come downstairs for me. Okay. Yeah. Where are they supposed to be napping at? There's not a bed in here. These are the moments when cops surprised abusive parents at their doorstep. Let's start with a case where a routine welfare check uncovered inhumane living conditions and severe neglect. On September 12th, 2024, officers were called to a local home after a caller reported seeing a child standing in a window with what appeared to be smeared across it. What was initially meant to be a routine welfare check quickly turned into something much more serious. Uh, apparently, uh, we have a wellness check. What? Okay. So, your kids are upstairs. They're upstairs. We've been trying to paint the rooms because um they keep smearing crap on the wall. We need to go through the door. Okay. So, we're just here to make sure the kids are okay. Yeah, they're perfectly okay. I can go get them down. Can I come with you? Yeah. Which kid? Um, we were trying. When officers arrived at the home, they found the father on the phone with the children's mother. She appeared visibly distressed, seemingly aware that the police were just moments away from discovering the conditions her children were living in. Hey, boys. Come on. Hi, boys. What are you doing? Come downstairs for me. Okay. Yeah, we're going to give them a shower, but they on the walls. I've been trying to keep it up and Okay. Um, how old are they? They're just in there by themselves, which is probably why they're Yeah, we have Yeah, we have a camera right there. Uh-huh. We're always checking up on them. Okay. Um, we'll make sure they eat three miles a day. Yeah. You guys like kind of in over your head maybe? I mean I I work at nights. Okay. The wife is taking care of the boys, making sure. Where's she at? She's currently getting her glasses. Okay. Well, come on. Come on back downstairs for me. Who? So, yeah, it's poop. Um, we can try and get painted. The room was smeared with human waste and conditions so deplorable that the officers, even as seasoned officers, were left completely stunned. And we've been trying to use a rug doctor because they keep trying to get them potty trained. Mhm. How long have they been in that room? Well, they were supposed to be taking a nap. Where are they supposed to be napping at? There's not a bed in here. They torn apart yesterday. The autistic one likes to tear apart their beds. Mhm. And so we had to throw them both out. Mhm. My brother just sent me money. I'm actually going to be once my wife gets home buy some beds. They keep tearing up the mattresses. Uh-huh. Can you have a lieutenant start this way, please? Huh? We have some pants or something we can put on there. Yeah, I got it. You have a lieutenant available to start this way, please? I can't really see. After the officers successfully removed the children, both parents were arrested with two counts of neglect. Moving on to another prime example of why some people simply shouldn't be parents. It's a dirty diaper. It's down to his legs and his He's exposed shirt. So, do you have any idea why your son's running around out here knocking trash cans over? Not supposed to. We all went to bed last night. You got ducks. We have wine. It's my roommates. What's the other thing in those? Oh my god. Is that a duck in there? Y'all have to Huh? Yeah. There's marijuana everywhere. Yeah. On September 3rd, 2023, 911 received a call from a woman reporting a 4-year-old child wandering the streets alone, knocking over trash cans. There were no adults in sight. The toddler was wearing a filthy diaper that was so full it was nearly dragging on the ground. But wait until you see where the parents were and what they were doing while their little kid was out there alone. Do you know your name? He didn't know. He didn't know. Okay. Have you seen him around the area now? The first thing the officer noticed upon making contact with the child was that his diaper was full and looked like something that hadn't been changed for days. What raised even bigger concerns was the fact that the parents of the child were nowhere to be seen. What's the phone number and contact you at? Is there a Do you guys have an emergency number for the office here? Um, do you know? I don't know. Um, I haven't really called up there. They're not very helpful. The one time I did call. Okay. I can I'll see what this has. Okay. Okay. If he ran from this way, he's just knocked the trash cans over, ran that way. I don't know. I've never seen him before. But it looks like it's been through the neighborhood a good minute. Okay. Yeah, cuz all these trash cans are him. Yeah. Bye. Traffic. Bye. Can you contact the office here and have them come down at trailer 159 and see if they can help me identify those boys? If I contact the trailer office affirmative to see if they happen can identify this boy or possibly what trailer he goes belongs to there. He's got mud all over him. Dried mud like he's been out for a little while. It's a dirty diaper. It's down to his legs and his he's exposed under that shirt. So, it's it's So, I don't And I was like, I don't I don't know if he's a missing kid. I better real quick cuz I don't see any parents. Would you stay with us for a minute? Say yeah. Stay right here, please. We're friendly. Do you like the flowers? They're pretty, huh? Yeah. 518. She's advising he goes to 157. Supposedly he belongs to So that's going to be this one over here. Can Can you come with me? Can Can you come here? Yep. Stay away. Uhoh. Bye. Timmy, can you call the front door? looked like they were out there on the 18th of last month for the same thing. After confirming with dispatch, the officer was informed that this was the second time the parents had been found with their toddler wandering alone in the street. After 25 minutes of waiting outside the door, the father finally came out and the officer then got to ask him about what their excuse was this time. Step out here. Is this your son? Yes, it is. Is there a reason why he's out here running around? Have a seat right here for me. Yeah. Is there Who all lives here? Uh me and my wife and my roommate. Okay. Is there a reason why your son is running around in a disgusting diaper? Who knows how long he's been running around right now? No, sir. No, sir. Okay. Are you high right now? No, sir. I'm not really tired. Just like really just Okay. What's your last name? What's your date of birth? That's 424. 424. What? So, is everybody inside still asleep? Uh, I think my wife is. Yes. Your wife is okay. Do you work anywhere? I'm sorry. Do you work anywhere? Yes, I do. Were you guys smoking weed last night? Uh, no. No, sir. Why is all this out here? My wife was. I wasn't. Why are you struggling to answer questions of like your height and weight and your hair color or your eye color again? I just I literally just woke up like I'm like groggy. How long do you think your son's been out here? I guess he's been running around the neighborhood knocking over trash cans. [Music] Okay. Uh, what's your son's? Have her come out here. Police department. Come out here. Come out here. You stay out here. She's right there. Well, get dressed and come out here, please. Huh? No, he wasn't. He was outside a second ago. The officer quickly sensed that the father appeared to be heavily under the influence of something. He wasn't able to answer basic questions about his weight, height, and eye color, and seemed extremely confused about what was happening around him. Moments later, the child's mother came outside, only confirming that the situation could in fact get even worse when it came to irresponsible parenting. I have no idea. What time do you think it is? I have no idea. I don't know where my phone is. Okay. So, do you have any idea why your son's running around out here knocking trash cans over? Not supposed to. We all went to bed last night. My roommate was up this morning before he went to work. I thought I didn't know. I thought Brian was up. I haven't been up since last night. And what's your date of birth? Stop that medication. What medication? I'm on I've been on it for about a week. I'm just going to have to stop it. The mother gave excuse after excuse for what had happened. One of them being that her medication made her too tired to properly care for her son. What she didn't realize was that the officer had already spotted the marijuana paraphernalia and was beginning to suspect that her explanation was pure nonsense. What's your date of birth? 9:30 1989. How tall are you? 411. Okay. How much do you weigh? Do you really need to know that? I there just blanks I got to fill in. Okay. I can look it up. Uh do you work anywhere? I work at Courtyard by Marriott. I work overnights. Did you let the dogs out? No. Gold Springs. I'm so sorry. I just need to check and make sure that I have two dogs in here. Yeah, I saw two dogs. You had like a German Shepherd or something and then that tan dog. Yeah. Okay. So, were you smoking marijuana last night? Yeah. You leave that. It's out here where kids can get a hold of it. Not usually. Well, not usually. Is that how much you smoked last night cuz you didn't remember? What time did you guys smoke last night? about 9:30, 10. Okay, don't go in for right now. Okay. Is there any way I can look at the inside of your trailer? Yeah. Are your dogs friendly? They're friendly, but they sound rough. Can you go lock them into a back door or something? Hold on. All right. So, I like to bed. As you can see, I try to keep most of my stuff up here up here. Or I have another room out of um the way. Where's his medication? And where's bedroom at? Um he shares with his dad his crib rope. So, we're kind of Okay. Improvising. I have two girls that only are only here every so often. I don't have one of them. Okay. This is the second time. I can't believe he did it a second time. But I I have somebody watching him cuz before he got out when I was taking a nap, you know, cuz I work overnight. And so I switched everything around. With each passing moment at the scene, the officer began to realize that neglect didn't even begin to describe what was unfolding. And what he found inside the bathtub took things to an even more disturbing level. Um to watch him during the week. Wait, you got ducks? We have one. Yeah, it's my roommates. I didn't know he left. What's the other thing in this? Oh my god. Is that a in there? Yeah, I'll have to Yeah. Yeah. I'll um do it in just a second. Well, then I'll have to Sorry, I'm trying to get my way. Is this your only bathroom? Um no, we have one back here. This is the one that we are. There's marijuana everywhere. Yeah, this is seems like more than just you smoking marijuana. It's all It's within reach of everybody. It appeared that a wild party had taken place among the three adults in the trailer involving heavy smoking and bizarrely even petting a duck. By this point, it was painfully obvious that this was not a safe environment for a child. The adults seemed far more interested in getting high than in being responsible role models or caring for their son. It became clear that the son had been wandering the streets for nearly 2 hours. However, before placing the parents in handcuffs, the officer got to talk to a family friend who had interesting details about what the life inside the trailer was like. I already got three little girls and I drive like just because the school's over there at ghetto, I drive 35 minutes every morning and then I leave work early to come all the way back. So, you're not going to have any issues with keeping them for long long I I don't know time frame or anything. I just need I actually even said like I'm going to if y'all let me take him I'm going to go buy him a bed and just go rearrange my whole house so he has his own bedroom. So I just don't want to get into What kind of person is Todd then? Huh? What kind of person is Todd? I mean um so Todd's the boyfriend. Ryan is the husband. They all live here together. Okay. And but Todd is like really kind of like uptight. You know what I mean? Like I don't really I don't know. I don't talk to him too much. He took over more than the dad. Yeah. He takes care of him. Okay. So, are they married? Mhm. Yep. But then Todd's Todd's a boyfriend. Don't get me started on it. Yeah. That's why That's why she That's why dad stays with son in one room. I guess that makes more sense now. I was trying to worry about it. But yeah, now I want go to worry about that old man that's at my house that don't shut up. Literally talk so much. All right. All right, I'm going to bring them one over time and I'm going to ask them and make sure I got to ask them, hey, is it all right if Britney takes him? And it was now time to place the parents under arrest. You guys are about to get placed under arrest for child. Is it all right if Britney takes a kid? Turn your hands behind your back. And who is Britney to you guys? I'm sorry. Who is Britney to you guys? Uh, Britney is my my sister's daughter. All right. You're getting placed under arrest for child. Okay. Britney's here. Is it all right? She takes it, Connor. Yeah. Okay. Put your hands behind your back for me. Let me hold that. You fill up the other one. You don't want it to go with you. Um, so that way you'll have it with you everywhere you go. Is there any phone numbers if you need phone numbers and stuff out of it? Yeah, it's up to you. That way whenever you get out of the Yeah. Anything else you need out of the house? No. Okay. Um, is it okay if they go in and get diapers, clothes? Yes, they can go in. We're We're not going in, but just Is there a way to lock the front door? How can we lock the front door? They have keys. in your car seat. Mom, I would have a seat. There's a They Freddy needs a car seat, too. Where? Um It's in the car. Tell her the keys are hanging up. The keys are hanging up. So, is this your first time? This time? This is my first time going in there since I've got let them get on the lease as tenants because because I am supposed to like, you know, this is like a 10-year thing where um I just pay and in 10 years I own it and I can move it off. And uh they got kicked out of the apartment where they were at off like 10th and so I let them stay here cuz there'd be enough bedrooms for Connor to have his own room and the whole It smells so bad in there. And the whole thing I think it's a bear. Put that down. I'll get you. And uh it's barely bad in there. Like the doors are off and there's cereal all over the place. Yeah. Yeah. And so what your aunt to him? No, he's my cousin. Your cousin that the one you just arrested is my aunt. My mom's sister. Yes, I got her. All right. Do you need anything else from us? I'll find out. I'll find out where the keys are so you're not having to dig through the place. Yes. Both parents were sentenced to 7 years of probation. Moving on to the case of a physical altercation between a girl and her parents. No, I'm not. Officer, can you please make this man let me go? And my mom grabs my wrist and she's like, "No, you're not going upstairs. You're going outside." We've been abusive to her for a while now. Yeah. The stepdad has her hair like this, slamming her onto the bed, slamming her onto the wall, dragging her so he can pin her onto the ground. And the mom, same thing, is slapping her and hitting her. Like I said before, like she had reported that he had touched her inappropriately. On July 9th, 2023, officers responded to a home in Georgia after receiving a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, they spoke with a man who said his girlfriend was inside the house being attacked by her parents. talking about screaming on the drop. [Music] John's Creek Police, please just get her out safely. They're hurting her. Hello. What's going on right now? Um, we have our daughter. She's been like these hair up there. Tell him to get home. What's going on? Help her. Help her, please. Impatient. What's going on? Up here. Up here. Yeah, I'm right here. Ma'am. Ma'am. Hey, I'm Officer Win. What's going on? Can you please get this man off of me? She's riding around together. Please help me. Holding you down. See? Thank you. hurting. She tries to run away and then come see me back in the years old. I'm not running away. They knew where I was at. Everything. Yes. Again, I told you I was at Chris's house. Chris up. She was coming. We could have a conversation. 30 to 31. She's a 24 patient. Oh, 24. She was coming back so that we could have a phone call. Can you let me go? No, I'm not. Officer, can you please make this man let me go? It's not an assault in progress. He's holding her down by the arms right now. I'm watching. Can you please No, he's watching. Hold on a second. I'm waiting for my other officer to get here right now. Okay. I'm trying to figure out what's going on. The officer quickly learned that the father had been restraining his daughter due to her violent outbursts. While it initially appeared that the father hadn't done anything wrong, it soon became clear that something far more disturbing was unfolding inside the home. Your dad, he seems like he's actually familiar with what's going on. So, I I appreciate your help. So, she and her boyfriend were coming back so that we could have a family discussion about what the boundaries and the rules of the house were going to be. Mhm. Their car broke down on the way here. He's not even supposed to be driving cuz he has a DUI. Okay. Have a DUI. We come home and immediately she starts screaming in my face. So, I was like, "Okay, I'm trying to have a constructive conversation with you. If that's not going to happen, just leave." Obviously, like I don't want to I don't want to get into this, right? We have two smaller kids. Their grandfather removed them from the house so that they would not No, I'm not letting you go. Were they here when it started? We knew. So, just the four of us. It was just the four of us. We knew that it might escalate to this point because it has in the past. And so, we asked my father to take our two younger kids to the park. You guys plan to play me? Yeah, you're stupid. to play with them. And in case I I just don't want them. Stop moving. If you're allowed to hold me down, I'm allowed to try to put some pressure on my neck. No, you're good right now. You're There's a lot of pressure on my freaking chest. There you go. No, he just moved you. So, you're not your neck isn't all up in that corner. No. No. Do I not have the rights of a normal person? I don't understand. The officer is letting me finish right now. Well, last night I I told her, "Hey, I want to talk to you tomorrow. It's her day off school. It's my day off work." And instead, she was like she she runs away. And she's asked that when she runs away that we just give her her space. So, we're trying to respect that. 19 and she's 19. She ran away. She had her boyfriend run away. It's not running away. She had her boyfriend come pick her up. She stayed the night at his house. We got a text this morning saying, "Hey, mom. I'm on my way on my way. And I'm like, okay, what what are you on your way for? Like, are you wanting to pack your stuff? Are you wanting to talk? What? And she's like, for our talk. And I said, okay, that's fine. Then we get the text that the car broke down. We go pick them up. I try having conversation with her and it just escalates. Um, and this is kind of so escalating. What exactly happened? She grabbed my wrist and I said, "Please don't touch me." And then she continued to drag me. you were talking I just step over here to the foyer. Yeah, go ahead. So, at this point, two conflicting stories emerge. One from the parents and one from the daughter. Coming up, the officer spoke with the mother to gather her account of what led up to the incident. I want to talk to her about like if if you're going to be a roommate, that's one thing. And roommate rules are different than when you're a child and when you're financially dependent on us. If you want to be a roommate, that's fine. So then you're going to start kind of paying your own way. Um, that's the conversation I wanted to have. Now, last night, we were informed that when I was trying to talk to her, recording us the whole time. So, I asked her at the beginning of the conversation, I said, "Please turn your phone off. I don't want to be recorded. I don't like that. That doesn't feel good. I don't want to be blackmailed." Um, and she refused. I said, "Okay, if you can't abide by the civil boundary, stop. Then right now is not the right time for the talk. Just go." Yeah. Stop. Stop. Can you chill out? Yes. Tell her, please. She's not. I know. I'm not letting you go. Does the door automatically lock or are we relocking? I'm not I don't want the boyfriend inside. Gotcha. Okay. You want me to put you on your stomach so you can breathe better? Oh, yes, you do, Carl. When I told her, I'm not putting any weight on you. And if that's the way she wanted to do it, then I asked her to leave. She started running up to the room. Stop. This is not how we're going to do that. Stop. He's He had you on your back. Hold on. Okay, that works. What began as the father restraining his daughter escalated into something more violent. And at first, the officer didn't seem to intervene. been praying for her for 12 years. So, you're making it worse for yourself. So, was she trying to hurt herself or in there today? She was lashing out at us. Lashing out at you guys and I get I get raised up and so we lash back and then he gets in the middle to separate us. Yeah. Stop. And then he gets hit. Yeah. And then boyfriend came in to try to pull. Yeah. And then boyfriend started. [Music] Just a second. We're going to let you up, but I got to get you in handcuffs right now. Okay. Okay. Just give me your hand. Get him off me. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to get that in just a second. Okay. As soon as this happens, I'm off. Yep. Just hold on just a second. Okay. Okay. All right. So, I got my second knuckle here. It's not tightening up. I'm going to get up. Okay. Yep. Go for it. Okay. I appreciate you. Okay. I'm going to double lock these so it don't get any tighter. Okay. You're okay. Okay, I'm going to get and after that I'm going to sit you up. Okay, thank you. Just promise me you're not going to squirm and all this stuff. Okay, I promise. Okay, you roll over. Just roll over to your side here. I just kick up this leg right here. I'm going to pull you up. Okay. Okay. Just hang out from here. Okay. Okay. At this point, the daughter was handcuffed so the officers could speak with both the mother and stepfather without interruption. Coming up, the officer learned that it was the mother who first escalated the situation from verbal to physical. So it was verbal until you started. And she's your daughter. Okay. I mean, she kicked out at me first. She kicked out at you first. like like pretty close. Yeah. No. Like as I was because as I was telling her to get out, as she was coming up the stairs, she was like trying to back kick you. And then that's when Okay. And then when I called her into her room, I was telling her get out, get out, get out. My stepdad started certainly, but okay. I can work with you for a while. Okay. And then happened last night. Mhm. Also, we were having a trying to set up a talk with her. She came up here when I let me in and her in her room. I was gonna tell her, "Hey, we need to set up a talk." Yeah. She brought up a butter knife so I can unlock the door. I walked in with a knife and she freaked out. Good. As soon as I realized I had it, I threw it down. Yeah. Just in case she comes up saying I was waving a knife in her face. I just walked in like I threw it down right away. Yeah. So, but and you can meet our other kids. We have two other girls. We have a sister older than her. More evidence began to point toward the parents and soon the officers spoke with the daughter to hear her side of the story. I just happen to call but I'm just saying like we do not we do not we're not He can see it's totally Yeah. Come back. attacked her first. So apparently coming up the stairs. So then when they got up here, yeah, she she says she says that she pulled her probably roll that way more than anything. I don't know if she's going to write officer. Okay, now tell him what happened. Okay, so what had happened? They told me I'm free to leave and since they Okay, when we got in the car, they didn't say anything to me even though I had said like, "Hey, I'm coming home. I want to try to talk." that type of thing. They just didn't say a word. They just silent. Someone came inside. I was like, "Okay." So, and it was just silence again. And then my mom said, "I want you to turn off your phone." And since my phone was the only thing they had left me, they had taken my keys and everything. I was like, "No, I don't feel comfortable doing that. Like, if an emergency happens, I want to at least be able to call something or someone to come help me." And I said, "I'll transfer over the phone anything that you guys own like as soon as I can." Mhm. And they were like, "Okay, you're free to just go then." So I go to leave. Okay. And I'm like, "Okay, I need my school stuff cuz I go to school full time. I pay for school myself." Mhm. So I was just going to grab my backpack that has like my necessities. So I go up here to grab it and my mom grabs my wrist and she's like, "No, you're not going upstairs. You're going outside." I was like, "Let me go. Please do not touch me physically right now. Like please do not physically like hurt me." Cuz also like with all the stuff they told you, I was like, I so I get really triggered when people touch me physically in an argument. So I just told her I looked at her and I was like please do not touch me physically. And can why can she do you want me to leave? Yes, please. Okay. If you can just wait for me like downstairs like or something like that be great. Yeah, I appreciate. So, as I was coming upstairs, she tried to grab my wrist, like I said. And then I was I did not try to kick her back. I don't know why she said that. I just run up the stairs as fast as I could to grab my stuff cuz I did not want to get into an altercation with her cuz like she said, they've called the cops on me before this type of things happen. I was trying to avoid that. Just grab my backpack and leave with my boyfriend as soon as possible. So I grabbed my backpack and they started me my stepfather me in the face and my mom said my mom goes she's like no you cannot take anything you can't have anything and I was like I just want my backpack and I just want to leave and they were like no and I was like this is my possession like I paid for everything in this backpack I paid for this all like this is mine I'm allowed to take this and they were like no they just start like grabbing my stuff and grabbing me. And that's when I called for my boyfriend so that he could witness it, you know, and also so that like I don't know for protection. And he comes up and he put an arm out against between me and my stepdad and my mom. Mhm. And cuz I'm in the blood at this point and they're just trying to like hold me down, hit me, whatever. And he's like, "Hey, stop her. Like stop touching her." D like this is not okay. And they, my stepdad then turns to my boyfriend and starts like shoving him, pushing him. He shoved him against the wall so hard he hit his head. And that's when I started to get physically aggressive cuz I didn't want to see my boyfriend get hurt. So that's when I started like kicking, being like, "Don't touch him. Don't touch like don't touch me. Don't touch us. Like just let us leave." And yeah, that's when Hey, we're up here. That's when my boyfriend called the police and that's when my boyfriend got out of the situation cuz obviously he doesn't want to be like involved in any sort of stuff like that. And then my parents just kept like holding me down and hitting me every single time I tried to move until eventually we got into it. Yeah. So, okay. Are you good? Are you going to do anything if I take out the handcuffs? No. Okay. She's shoulders. My should Yeah, my shoulder hurts. Is it left or right? Let me get those off. Can you stand up? Yeah. Off you. Okay. You You said your step. So, Nathan's your stepdad. Okay. So, and you said he you in the face? Yes. And I'm pretty sure he hit my boyfriend also. Either in the face or in the chest. I just want to make sure. So, once like you got um from what I was saying, they picked you guys up after your boyfriend's car broke down. Once you guys got here, like well the entire car right there was silent and everything, right? They were just like talking to each other, talking to them like between themselves, but like kind of ignoring you guys. Yes. Okay. And once you got here, um somewhat had to talk about like you're free to leave like you can go. Yeah. When I got here, I come in and I was like, "Okay, so you know, my boyfriend got a call from I believe his dad to like about the car." And so he I was like, "Well, do you want to like some privacy? Like you go upstairs, you go outside, like it's fine." I tell him that. And my mom goes, "Well, he could be here or he could be outside." So I'm like, "Okay." And then she goes, "I want your phone or turn off your phone." D. And I was like, I think she cuz something about me recording her. Yeah. Were you trying to record the conversation or anything? No, officer. The only thing that I've done which she I don't know if she like misunderstands or what, but she'll be like, "Okay, call your boyfriend to come pick you up then." And so I'll call him, but then they'll still be arguing or touching me or something like that. And my so they say it's recording but nobody's recording them. It's just my boyfriend will be on the phone sometimes to come pick me up. Okay. So no I've never like recorded. Yeah. So it was just like an active phone call with you. Okay. Gotcha. And then when you guys were coming up the stair when you were coming up to get your bag is when And what was what was in the bag? Just like a few things. It's my my So it has my iPad for school and my other school possessions which I need to just like go to school on the regular day. Okay. And then are you in college right now? I'm guessing uh cosmetology. Cosmetology. Okay, gotcha. After listening to the daughter explain everything, one of the officers stepped outside to speak with her boyfriend who had called the police after being hit himself and witnessing the physical altercation between his girlfriend and her parents. Hey. Yeah. Yeah, she's good, man. Is she going to be able to come out? Yeah, just just a second. I just want to talk to you really quick. Yeah, of course. Yeah. So, do you know what's going on? This is what happened. Sorry, I was on the line with some I'm just very concerned. My parents are coming to pick us up if she can come home with me. She's in need of being there. We came, my car broke down. We were on the way 2 days ago. She lost her social security card and she was scared to tell her mom cuz they're not really close. She was living with her biological father before this and they came to save her. They claim, but I mean the stepdad like she told me they had some issues that and they also told her yeah whenever she lost social security card they just started screaming at her and when she was like I'm going to go to my house cuz I told her I'd help her get that sorted like she wouldn't have to worry about social security card they started screaming at her saying she can't leave the house that she's not allowed to leave that this isn't her car and she her stepdad got butter knife and kicked the door down and started intimidating her, screaming at her in the face. So, I came, I picked her up, I took her my house, wanted her to be safe. What stood out to the officer was how differently the daughter and son-in-law interpreted past events, like the butter knife incident, which the parents had described as nonviolent and non-threatening. The officer asked the boyfriend a few more questions before heading back inside to speak with the parents. And then today, uh, her parents wanted to talk to her. That's what they said. They wanted to talk. They picked you all up after your car broke down. Yeah, they picked me up after my car broke down. I was in the middle calling my dad, telling him everything that happened. And as soon as we got in, her mom's like telling her to turn her phone off and she was like, "Are we going to talk?" And then her mom was like, "You can get the out of my house." And she was like, "Okay." She was like, "I'm going to go get my stuff." And her mom just started grabbing her by the arm saying, "You can't take anything." And the most of the stuff in her room is her property. You know, she has her stuff for her school in here that she needs to get. She has uh a bunch of just her clothes and stuff like they're make basically kicking her out and taking all her stuff and then I'm downstairs like I you know me we have I this isn't the first time for them like they've been to her for a while now and I try to stay out of it cuz you know I didn't want to have problems with her parents but then she starts screaming my name screaming for my help and when I go up there the stepdad has her hair like this slamming her onto the bed slamming her onto the dragging her so he can pin her onto the ground. And the mom, same thing, is her and her. And I'm like, I step in and I'm like this. I'm like, "Hey." I'm like, "Calm down." Like, and then the stepdad just grabs me and pushes me and starts saying he's going to hit me and say, "Get out the house." So instantly I'm like, "Sir, call 911." And that's when I called you guys. And as soon as I got kicked out, all I could hear is screaming and screaming and breaking and smashing. And then when the when you went in the first time, I see he just got her pinned down on the bathroom floor, face on the floor. Like that's not okay. And that's my whole side of the story. That's everything I saw. I mean, I saw a lot of hair pulling, a lot of slamming, a lot of Mhm. And she was trying to defend himself. And I just hear you want hit me by the stepdad. And you know, he's the stepdad. She's known him for maybe a year. And he, like I said before, like she had reported that he had touched her inappropriately. And it's just like and she just needs to get out of there. She just needs this environment's not okay for her. And they got two other younger children, a 9 and a 10year-old. And I'm scared. I I don't know. This this dude is a 6'5, 350 lb man who's just using his aggression against these young girls. The officer then walked back inside to talk to the parents inside and based on the statements Chris had just given him, he knew exactly what the next step had to be. Did you happen to lay hands on the boyfriend or anything when the whole thing was going? He got up in my face when I was breaking them up and stuff. Yeah, he was they all he jumped in into the middle of the frame to stop to stop and I didn't want him in the center because he has right nothing. We've already me and him have already had issues. Mhm. I pushed him back. Mhm. to get out of my face and to get away from us. But he was already in the middle throwing hands before you pushed him. Yes. Can you talk to me over here? Um, do I need to change out of my pajamas or are you arresting me? Cuz if so, I'm going to put some regular clothes on. Yes. Okay. I'm going have to come up with you. I'm not going to look around, but Did you give her free rain of her room? I really do not want She lives here and everything. So I can't I can't keep her out of there and all that stuff. That's that's a matter. Um so just being upfront with you. So based on what you told me, what Nathan was saying, what what um what Melody was saying, and what the boyfriend was saying, I I have to because it is between family members and everything. It falls into family. Sorry, let me look away really quick. Um fine. I've had four kids. I work in the hospital. I naked bodies all day, every day. But um it falls under the the family violence act in Georgia. So because it is between family members, I got to Is it going to be a misdemeanor or a felony? Misdemeanor. Okay. There's no marks or anything like that. Um, so I'm going to get you outside first and then we'll put the handcuffs on and everything. Um, I appreciate your your honesty with me when you told me everything. Should I put socks and shoes on? Do I want socks? Uh, I would I would say so. Um, and then uh Chris's parents are going to be here about 10 15 minutes to pick him and Melody up and we'll get them out of here and everything. Um, and can he see what she's getting out of her room? Um, we really don't want her taking things that are our property with with stuff like that. That's all a civil matter that would have to be handled through the mall service. So like we can't handle or like we're not here to like settle disputes and stuff like that. Just that'll we have to be handled through like through through like court itself and everything like that. And that's not a criminal that's not a criminal stuff like that. Okay. Is someone Is there going to be an officer here with her until she leaves? Um, if you would like, I can ask I can ask my supervisor if I would rather like someone with her until until she and Chris leave. Yeah. Just from I gota keep going in the pool is it cool if Carter stays here till his parents get here to pick up the girl and him just Oh, you can say okay. You want to go and get her and get the paperwork done. That's what you Yeah. So, I'm letting her get her stuff on. We're going to go on do it out there and then I'll Okay. Yeah. Am I um Am I going to be in a holding cell or am I going to put a bunch of It'll be a cell. It'll be a cell. Okay. I don't think they have too many people over there anyway. I know yesterday wasn't So, I don't know if they explain it to you. Um, but basically based on what you were telling me, what Nevin was telling me, what Melody was telling me, what Chris was telling me, um, and because they're related, it all falls under the uh, the Family Violence Act of Georgia. Okay. Um, so based on that, we I do have to make an arrest. Um, and based on everybody's statements, it she's identify as the primary aggressor in the law. I should at least do stuff first. Um, Mary Kish, okay, is who you need to call to let her know I won't be at work and I might not be there Tuesday. I'll let her know. I'll just let her know tomorrow and then Can you let her know tonight? So, yeah, as soon as all this goes, I'll they need to plan case load. I'll call her. Thank you. Um, she's going to be going to the Alpharetta jail at the moment. Um, I don't I don't I can't make any promises if bond will be set by the judge or not. Um, I would call you can Google Alpharetta Jail and it'll pull up. You call that main number and ask them u just inquire about her and they should they should be able to tell you in in a couple hours. Okay. Okay. All right. All right. Thank you. No, you got it, sir. Yeah. You don't want to put her hand behind her back. You can get them waist chains from off my spotlight. Okay. I know. Just hold on to them until Yeah. Uh we come back to work if you get them. But they on my spotlight on the side. Okay. I appreciate it, sir. And there's nothing in your pockets and stuff, right? Okay. So, we're just going to go to the front of my car with the flashing lights on. Everything's together because of the way the call came out. The mom was charged with simple battery. Moving on to the case of when police made contact with a substance impaired dad. Get away from me. Hands. Hands. That next time I have shotgun to blow your brains out. That's what happened next time. On February 5th, 2024, officers responded to reports of an intoxicated man who was acting delirious and threatening his family. But they never expected the situation to escalate the way it did. He's just trying to get her pull the lock. [Music] How's that? How's that? How is that? He's got a knife in his left hand. Drop the knife, man. I need you to drop the knife. Dispatch, they're trying to call him out of there. He threw the knife. Hey, ask her if someone else is upstairs. Upstairs. The officers entered the chaotic household where tensions were running high. The suspect stood gripping a knife, the same one he had allegedly used to threaten his family. Coming up, the officers moved in and this was when the situation escalated rapidly. Put your hands on top of your head now. Put your hands on your head right now. Put your hands on top of your head downstairs. Turn around and touch your head. your head. Put your hands on top of your head. Put your hands on top of your head and face away. Face away from me. Face away from me. Put your hands on your head. Stop. Stop. Put your hand behind your back. Why you there for a second then, man? I said I said to walk around cuz they locked me in the house. Let me know when you're ready to stand up. Okay. You don't have any other knives or anything, do you? No. Downstairs. You don't. Are you ramping yourself up again? Yeah. Calm down. You got to breathe. going that way. ass. At this point, the officer had already had a hard time dealing with the man, and now they had to try to get him up from the ground. Put your knee in. All right. Roll towards me. Back door. [Applause] I got your pants. We're heading this way. You checked out or anything? No. [Applause] When the man was secured in the car, they finally had a chance to investigate the house undisturbed. Meanwhile, a sergeant came to talk to the furious man to try to calm him down. A mission that was almost impossible. Get over the right. I you pig [ __ ] [ __ ] and s pig [ __ ] [ __ ] you big [ __ ] But you want to take me one [ __ ] B what? Any of those uh things hit you man? What? I don't give a [ __ ] them gives a [ __ ] you. Any car in the area about that? Right. 206 Firestone for the night. But my daughter, they called in you guys at all. That's my wife. That's my daughter's house. My wife, my son, and his girlfriend are all cheap in the basement. You don't give a shotgun to some son got my weapons under disability. He got in his room. What about that [ __ ] You said I don't mean nothing either, right? Hi. I'm sergeant with the Aan Police Department. Oh, imagine that. Sergeant. Yes, sir. Yeah. So, uh I just wanted to come and uh figure out what happened tonight. Well, let me tell you. Nobody else gave a You know, well, listen here. My son, my wife and his girlfriend were threatening my daughter. They have meth, they have fentanyl, and they have guns in her basement. Okay. I told them they need to get him the out of there. Okay. Okay. They said me and my daughter, sir. Specifically with what what happened when you encountered the officers? What what happened then? I had knives in my hand. Okay. Yes, I did because I kicked the door and my son came at me with a shotgun. Okay. So, what was I supposed to do to fit myself? What what what happened with the officers? They said, "Put the guns the the knives down." And I said, "I'm not going to put my guns down." Tell you the shotgun's okay. He has shotgun for that. That means for the base. Okay. So, you had knives in your hands. The officers came in, told you to put the knives down. You said you're not going to put the knives down because you just got a shotgun. Yes. And then what happened? And then when the So, I tased them. I threw them down. So, they they shot a taser at you. Did it hit you? No. No. And then you threw the knives down and then what happened? And that was it. Nothing else happened? Uh yeah, they came in here to arrest me. Okay. And uh you know I was kind of mad so I resist a little bit. Okay. Yeah. Anything else? No. Hey punch. Are you injured? No, I'm not injured. Do you have any marks or anything? I mean I don't know any cut scrapes you got. I'm not sure. Is Is this right here on your shoulder? Is that from tonight with the officers or Probably. Probably. Probably. Is that it? Yeah. They they beat me up pretty good. Would you say they beat me? They kne me in my ribs for else. Yeah. Me and they kicking you in your Yes, they were. Okay. Yes, they were. And it all revolved around I went to a friend's mine's house. I left and I was worried about my little grandbaby and that's why I came back here and they had the door locked. So, I kicked it in. Okay. That's the truth. You ask my grand my daughter. Any sir, anything else to add as far as your encounter with the officers that you didn't tell me? No. No. Okay. I'm going to get a couple of photographs of you. Okay. Um, you're not injured anywhere else and this is to your knowledge the only markings that you got, right? I mean, I can't really see. How can I see myself? I'm handcuffed. You know, I don't really know. Looks like you got a little red mark right there. Yeah, I got red mark. All kind of I don't really know till I look in the mirror. All right. They meant to take a couple photographs of you. Okay. Yeah. All right. In the car, the man had been rambling about hundreds of different things, most of which were likely complete nonsense. However, one claim stood out. His son had allegedly pointed a shotgun at him. The officers had no choice but to investigate whether this was true. Um, so he your dad he told us that it started with you pointing a shotgun at him. Is that a Did anything like that happened? Do you own a shotgun? No, I don't own no weapons. You don't own any weapons? Uh, so nothing like that happened? Absolutely not. No. At any point most of it Okay. At any point did you guys get into a fight while they were fighting? Where were you? You were just in the basement the whole time while that was happening. Okay. And did you hear us while we were up here? Cuz I Yeah, I heard you. Yeah. Okay. And I I stay down there to try to stay away from him. Jack, you do you mind if I just look and see if there's any shotgun there laying around? You don't have to. I I I would rather you not. Got you. All right. Um, my girlfriend's staying over with me and she's already laughing. But nothing like that happened. No, man. All right, man. I just uh wanted to make sure cuz he's obviously he's saying that that's why it's I'm sure he's saying I believe it. All right. Yeah, you're uh good to go back inside if you want. Appreciate you. Yep. Did someone grab the uh Yeah. Okay. Although it was somewhat suspicious that the son refused to let the officer into the basement, the officer accepted his explanation that his girlfriend was over and he preferred they didn't go down there. As they proceeded, the officer spoke with the suspect's wife, who made it clear that she wouldn't be his wife for much longer. Who was he? He's literally my husband, but we're at the start of a horrible divorce. This is my daughter's house. I actually left like 3 months ago and moved in with my sister because you know we went fight and famil times worse. He thinks he's in touch because every time my daughter calls it don't do anything cuz you know he is not distress you know be real calm as I get here and everything. He's just he's too much. He tried to come me with too much but I drew a glass pipe down the basement steps in my face. See, he stole my daughter's prescriptions out a few hours ago and just like opened them and in forever. So, I think that's why you thumbn your worries about what your officers did to me. You're not worried about what I told you. That's specifically why I'm out here is to investigate the use of force. That's what that's what I was about. Who's on to investigate what my son Who's that? So that's the officers out here. They don't give a They told me they don't give a [ __ ] because my daughter is not the one that called. My wife is the one that called. All right, Mr. I'm going to shut the door. Okay. Yeah, of course. You don't want here. Hey, you have a preference of hospital. I want to record past the monkey. I mean, it hurts me. Goddamn handcuffs. I know. I was trying to get you in there, but you tell them you're not feeling good, then that's what happened. I mean, I'm so sorry that my handcuffs hurt. Trying to get you out of them, man. I'm so glad it's okay to have fentanyl and shotguns. That's okay. I'll go ahead. I'll purchase a Okay. Next time you'll have better handcuffs. Yeah. Next time I have shotgun to blow your bra. That's what I have next time. [Music] [Music] The man was charged with domestic violence.
