Well, I haven't been on anything illegal. >> Okay. That we know of. >> Is it something you're comfortable talking to me about in front of you? >> No. >> No. >> You better tell me, honey, cuz you'll I'll find out. Just tell me. >> Well, I'll tell you. Let me talk to them. >> No, I want to know. >> Who are you? >> She's my wife. >> I'm on my phone. >> Nope. We're taking it. >> She's supposed to be our babysitter. That's what I know. >> Most wives believe they know the man sleeping next to them. But for some, the truth about their husband only surfaces when officers come knocking. and what's uncovered behind closed doors is far darker than anything they could have imagined. >> We confronted him last night about something that happened. She was in the shower last night taking a shower and he was watching her through the bathroom window. He went haywire ballistic punching my walls, my doors, telling me he's going to take out of my house. >> He will not stop without fight. He decided >> these were the moments when wives realized disturbing truths about their husbands. We begin with the case of a man whose own wife had no idea what he had been hiding for years until the day officers showed up at his door with a search warrant that would expose everything. >> What are you investigating? >> So, there's some uh suspicious internet activity. >> What kind of internet activity? >> Like inappropriate internet activity, stuff that shouldn't be on the internet. >> Well, I haven't been on anything illegal >> that we know of. >> It's funny. You create these accounts and then you just like forget about them. On February 5th, 2025, officers arrived at a man's residence after an investigation linked him to the consumption of illegal material online. At the door, they were met by him and his wife, a woman who at that moment had no idea why the police were there. >> Hi. >> How's it going? >> Good. Sorry. >> How can I help you? [laughter] >> My name is Corpal Carrie. This is my partner, Corporal Grill. >> Hey, how are you? >> We're just kind of in the internet just kind of investigating some internet activity. Okay. >> Um, are you the homeowner? >> Yes. >> Awesome. [snorts] What is your name, sir? Tony. >> Tony. >> Yeah. >> Officers kept things calm, mentioning only that they were looking into internet activity in the area. Mentioning only that they were looking into internet activity in the area. But as the conversation continued, Tony's wife appeared at the door, eager to understand what was happening. >> Do you guys have internet here? >> Yeah. >> Who's your provider? >> Spectrum. >> Spectrum. >> Okay. How long have you guys had them? >> Years. >> Years. Okay. It's a good company to go with. So, Um, >> how long you guys live here for? >> So, what what's going on? >> So, how long have you lived here? >> Um, year and a half. >> Year. Okay. >> So, we have um >> is that Jean? >> Yeah. [laughter] >> Okay. Sorry. >> What's going on? >> Hi. So, my name is Corpal Carrie Yates. This is my partner, Corporal Grill. We're just here kind of investigating some internet activity. >> Yeah. So, um, if you don't mind, can we talk to you first alone? >> Want to kind of explain what's going on? >> Yeah, I guess. >> Do you have a Do you have a identification? >> It's in my car. I can go grab it. >> Yeah, >> no problem. >> Mine's in my car. >> Here's your car. >> Yeah, I can just wait. Thank you. >> All right. It's my badge. >> Who are you? What? >> Sheriff's office. Pel County. >> And what are you investigating? >> So, there's some uh suspicious internet activity. I don't know the details of it. It's her case, but we do this a lot. We've been doing it all morning. [music] Um to different houses because of internet activity. Um >> what kind of internet activity? >> Like inappropriate internet activity. Um [music] stuff that shouldn't be on the internet. >> Well, I haven't been on anything illegal. >> Okay. That we know of. >> As the officers pressed for details about the home's internet connection, the atmosphere at the door began to shift. Tony was acting unsettled while Gene grew increasingly skeptical. But when the police continued the questioning, the atmosphere started to get more tense. >> So when there's like social media platforms or like internet based platforms, >> okay, >> that get like some suspicious activity, >> they send it to the National Center for Missing Exploited Cyber Tips. >> Okay. >> And they kind of filter out and send it to us or the appropriate agency. about you. >> Um, so we just got um a tip that was just kind of suspicious in nature, so they want us to come out and investigate. >> Oh, yeah. Let me know what it is. >> Do you have any social media? >> Yes. >> Which ones do you use? >> I use u Twitter. >> Okay. >> Well, X. >> Yeah. >> And um Facebook. >> Okay. >> And True Social. >> Instagram. >> In Well, barely on Instagram. >> Yeah. I have Instagram because my granddaughter's on Instagram. >> Oh, nice. >> And um >> that's it. >> Okay. What's your Twitter or X >> uh username? >> Um >> do you need your phone? >> Uh yeah. >> What am I on here? Oh, >> that's easy. >> And let's see on Instagram. Okay, this is the one I don't ever use. So, >> it's kind of old. >> Yeah, it's funny. You create these accounts and then you just like forget about them. [laughter] This is how the tip comes in, like I was explaining. Have you ever seen it before? >> No. Can I get my glasses? >> Yeah, go right ahead. >> No, I did. >> When the officers began asking Tony about his social media accounts, he fumbled through his phone as if he had struggled to access such technology, but officers weren't buying it. >> Do you mind if I talk to you first and then we could talk to Jean after or >> Well, I'd rather be present. >> That's fine. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, this is how the tip comes in. Okay. Um, and it says, um, this occurred on September 29th of 2023. And do you recognize this email? >> Um, not off top of my head. >> Does it look like one that you may use? >> It might. >> Okay. What is it? Angie.wle@outlook.com. wumble@outlook.com >> but I don't remember honestly. >> Okay. Have you ever been on Outlook? Have you ever used Outlook as an email? You've been retired before 23. So it wouldn't have been a federal he federal employee >> or was he's retiring >> anyway. No, this >> so as you see that we kind of get all the login. This is the registration IP address and stuff like that. >> Um And on this account, do you recognize anything? >> Yeah, I do. Okay. >> Okay. Is it something you're comfortable talking to me about in front of you? >> No. >> No. >> You better tell me, honey, cuz you'll I'll find out. >> At that point, the officers tried to pull Tony away from his wife given the sensitive nature of the content. However, sensing that something was being kept from her, Gene refused to step away. What the officers were about to reveal would change everything she thought she knew about her husband. Do you mind if we talk to him alone? >> No, I want to hear what it is. >> Just tell me. >> Well, I'll tell you. Let me talk to him. >> No, I want to know. >> Go ahead. >> It might be better if he just kind [laughter] of talks to us first. >> It's okay. >> No, it's not. Okay, >> honey. You got to tell me. So, let's go. >> But it might it might be easier on him to tell you when we're not present. >> What is it now? What is it? >> Yes. >> Okay. What is the address? What is the complaint? >> Yeah. What's the complaint? Yeah. >> Okay. >> Is it just >> So, do you want to kind of tell me about that account really quick and what's on it? >> Well, I don't have it anymore. >> You don't have it anymore? >> No. >> Okay. When was the last time you used it? >> Um, probably around that time. >> So, how long ago do you think? >> Over a year. >> Over a year ago. Okay. And what did you use that account for? >> Just >> entertainment. >> Entertainment. >> Right. >> I'm going to kind of show you some photos. Okay. Can you just tell me if you recognize them? Do you recognize that? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> You recognize that? >> Yes. >> This next one I do have sanitized. Okay. >> Do you recognize? >> Yes. Oh, no. I don't think so. >> What is she supposed to be on the radio? >> Yes. >> Yeah. I honestly >> Okay. >> If she is then it was something that I shared from something else that I saw, but it wasn't something I generated. >> Okay. So, tell me about that. What do you What do you mean by that you shared by something else? Well, I it's a year and a half, two almost two years ago. So, I don't really know. I don't I don't go into I don't request anything like that. >> Okay. >> If I see it on If I saw at the time, if I had seen it on X, I might have done something with it. I don't know. >> What do you mean by that? >> I may have posted it. >> Okay. So, you may have posted that image. >> I may have. Okay. >> I just don't remember. >> Okay. >> Just >> online, >> ma'am. Now that you kind of know the gist of it, do you mind if we kind of talk to him more in private >> and we we feel like we need an attorney here. That's what I feel like. >> So, I don't know what you've done, but you know. >> Yeah. >> Well, I'm I'm what I'm saying is I've never shared anything that I thought. >> Okay. And >> and our biggest concern is making sure that you're not still looking at the stuff. It's not like on your devices or anything like that. >> Yes. >> And so I understand. >> Yeah. Would you be willing to let us look at your device real quick so we can just verify it's not on there? >> In the end, Tony admitted he had watched inappropriate content involving young people. According to detectives, the material showed individuals between the ages of 10 and 13. Further investigation revealed he was also in possession of videos and images of acts between adults and animals. [music] Tony was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of inappropriate content involving young people and 12 counts of activity involving animals. In this [music] next case, a man believed he had gotten away with what he had done to a young girl until officers showed up at his door and the truth [music] came crashing down in front of his wife. I >> mean, some stuff did happen, but you know, I didn't I mean, it was in the liquor cabinet. I mean, I'm probably going to go to jail most likely. >> More likely. >> Okay. >> How much trouble I'm in for this? >> Quite a bit. >> Is there any other anybody else inside the residence at this time? thought that I know other than my dog. >> On July 23rd, 2024, officers in Athens County, Ohio, were called to a residence after a report that a man had acted inappropriately with a young girl. At the scene, officers found the man and his wife acting frantically. >> Hold up, hold up, hold on. >> I want my phone. >> No, we're taking it. >> YOUR OWN 2:55 A.M. >> My phone, please. >> No, not right now. >> Will you please tell us? I got it. >> Will you please you my wife? Okay, >> sir. >> Sir, sir, please. >> By the time officers arrived, tensions at the scene had already reached a breaking point. Stepping in to regain control, they turned their attention to the man at the center of the allegations. >> All right, come over here. So, what's happening? >> Well, last night she was messaging me. >> Okay. >> And she sent me some pics and I got home. She's in the house naked. there's uh some videos in there cuz I was recording everything and I was like, "No, we can't do this." You know, she kind of led to one thing to another. I was like, "No, we can't do this." And I didn't like she they're saying, >> "Okay, >> you know, I know she's underage, but I didn't." >> Okay. >> I mean, some stuff did happen, but you know, I didn't >> what I need you to be like totally upfront and honest with me. >> I I know it's weird, but I need you to just tell me what what's going >> my pants down, sir. Gave me four of them. >> Okay. And I got hard and I did do a little bit of a penetration but not much. >> Okay. >> Then I was like, "No, we need to stop." And we went to bed. They say I have her phone. I don't have her phone. >> I gather all her stuff up. It's probably >> stuff right there. >> It's right there. >> Okay. >> I don't know what all happened. Okay. >> What's all going on? I try to show him, try to talk to him, but he's all mad and upset. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Now I understand. >> You know, but he told me stories about his daughters. She's a little nervous about having her babysit anyway cuz of the story she told me cuz told me. >> So she's the b the babysitter. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> She I guess she's had with older men before. He's told me >> in the past and cuz we work together. That's how we know each other. >> Okay. >> And >> where do you guys work at? >> Well, he used to work with me at McGomery and he don't work there no more. >> Okay. >> And stuff. Like I said, she was already I got a little bit when I got home, you know. I know, but she was already when I got home. She was drinking before you got here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. She uh had a whole thing of liquor. >> Okay. A whole bottle. >> Uh it was pretty full and it was about empty when I I got home. >> Okay. >> And so I mean it was in no liquor cabinet. I mean I'm probably going to go to jail most likely. >> More likely. >> Okay. >> How much trouble I'm in for this? >> Quite a bit. >> Probably in poor pain. >> Mhm. >> Anybody that >> Yeah. All right. So what I need you to do right now for me, okay, is turn around. Put your hands behind your back. All right. So, right now you're being detained. Okay. But I am going to read you your Miranda rights. All right. You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand what I'm telling you here? You can tell me you want an attorney and you can end it at any time. Okay. >> All right. Well, I like it. I know. >> I I know, bud. I appreciate you being honest with me and we we'll deal with that. Okay. >> When you watch the videos, you'll see everything. Is there any other anybody else inside the residence at this time? >> Not that I know of other than my dogs. >> Okay. Where's your uh daughter at? >> I don't have any children. I just have a child that is my stepchild. >> Okay. You know where the stepchild is? >> He hasn't. He She's supposed to be our babysitter. That's what I know. And he's over there. And that's that's my stepchild. >> What the man told officers was as troubling as it was calculated. He even claimed the girl had been the one pursuing him. But none of it changed what he had already admitted to. So while he was being arrested, his wife seemed unable to process what she had just heard. But the investigation wasn't over. And across the scene, the girl's father was waiting to give his account. >> What's the backstory? >> Okay. I worked with him before, >> right, >> at Montgomery Trucking. He called me, I don't know if it was Thursday or Friday, and said, "Hey, um, we don't have anybody to babysit." >> Okay. Is there any Cuz my they came over to her house once and my daughter I'll babysit for some money. >> Okay. Anyway, so he said, "Hey, can she babysit?" And I said, "Sure." I said, "Yeah, when do you need her?" And he said, "Well, him and his wife, I talked to both of them, said, "Probably all the next week," which would have been Monday. >> Right. >> And there and I said, "Well, why don't you pick him up pick her up Sunday night that way can get used to her, right? >> And blah blah blah." >> Right. Right. So, she was here Sunday night, Monday night, and Tuesday and today. >> Okay. >> Um, he sent my wife a random text just today and said, "Hey, can you phone I don't know if he said so she can find it or what, but he said phone." Well, called I can't I don't know if it was before or after and said he took my phone. I don't know where it's at. And cuz I tried calling her phone and messaging or I tried calling her phone on messenger and my wife tried calling her regular and it went straight to voicemail. So it was shut off. >> Yeah. >> She said, "No, he took my phone last night. He took my phone. I don't know where it's at." Blah blah blah. I was like, "I'm on my way over." Well, first they made it sound [music] was here alone. Well, I didn't know he was off work and she was home. They made it sound like was here by and she wouldn't get up. >> Oh, >> so I said I texted Derek and I said, "I'm on my way over there now." >> Okay. >> After that was told us everything that happened and I didn't I tried calling him and calling him calling and it was really weird cuz he was active 4 minutes ago on Messenger when it when I tried calling him >> and he wouldn't answer. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. She called from her house prior to me trying to call him and explained what all happened. At least my wife called Derek on Messenger. He answered. >> Yeah. >> So I I I was like, "Give me that phone." So I was like, "What are you doing, dude? You my daughter and you got her drunk." Oh, that you don't know what went on here. I said, "I do know what went on here. You my daughter, dude." Well, you don't know what I said, I don't care what went on. An adult, if my daughter was drunk, would have first thing they would have done is called their parents, >> right? >> I said, "You never even called us or messaged us. Nothing." And he was like, "Yeah, come over here. Come over here. I'm home. I'm home." According to the father, what had been presented as a babysitting arrangement was something else entirely. [music] And what his daughter eventually told him confirmed his worst fears. >> So we come over here and we came in here for see how she was. He came outside said, "You don't know what got on. You don't know what went on here." And I said, "I don't need to know what went on. I know enough of what went on." WELL, I GOT PROOF. I GOT PROOF. SO he had his wife grab it. I said, "Dude, I'm not coming up to talk to you because I'm not going to jail." I said, "I'm gonna stay away from you." He goes, "Well, Kayla, go take him over my phone." So, she brought over his phone and was showing me the pictures of pictures, a couple and stuff, and I said, "Let me see the time on that." So, I scrolled up to the very first one. It was 2:55 a.m. I said, "Dude, you took them pictures off. You took them pictures off of her phone and sent them to your phone. I know exactly what you did." I said, "Because you took her phone last night." Kai said cuz said she couldn't find her phone last night. You had it. You're doing that to cover your dude. She's going to have her test done. I said I promise you you're going to prison. And I am very good friends with this job. Everybody that works there. >> Yeah. >> So I called them. I said, "Hey, is Derek working today?" And she goes, "No. Why?" I said, "Well, here's what happened." She goes, "Are you kidding me?" because there's been talk before about him doing this which I didn't know about but nothing ever came of it. >> Okay. >> I mean he seemed like a good guy when >> I worked with him. I heard a a door and I'm like who's that knocking on my door? I mean I don't know anybody that comes to my door. I've lived here that long. So I went to the door and she goes, "Can I use your phone?" And I said, "What's wrong?" And she goes, "Can I just use your phone?" And she was just like trembling and shaking. And I said, "Come in and have a seat. Let me get you some water. Try to calm down." And she just was crying, you know. And she goes, "Do you care if I step outside?" And I said, "No, I don't." But I did hear what the conversation and I heard her telling her dad that >> he he had tried to. >> In the end, the girl's medical test results showed the presence of multiple substances. According to the hospital staff, they were concerned that she may have been Dererick ended up arrested and charged with unlawful interactions and booked into the Athens County Jail with a bond set at $75,000. [music] Next, a simple shower turned into something no one could have anticipated after a family made a disturbing discovery about the man they had trusted their entire life. >> Cuz apparently she was in the shower last night taking a shower and he was watching her through the bathroom window and we confronted him about it and it blew up. >> He promised he would stop. He wouldn't do it no more. He's been hiding him in his truck. So >> whose truck is all she did? Oh, because she DIDN'T COME AND GET ME instead of blaming me. >> Can you guys Hey, can you guys go inside for me right now? >> On April 11th, 2024 in Marian County, the officers responded to what initially appeared to be a family disturbance, but as the police arrived and spoke with the callers, it became clear that what had taken place there was far more disturbing than the call had suggested. >> So, what exactly happened? We confronted him about something that >> He's your uncle. >> He's my brother. Her uncle and his uncle. >> Okay. These are your kids. >> Yes. Okay. Go ahead. >> We confronted him last night about something that happened. Okay. >> Cuz apparently she was in the shower last night taking a shower and he was watching her through the bathroom window. >> Okay. >> Okay. Apparently this isn't the first time that it's happened. >> Who Who saw him doing that? >> Her. She was the only one here. when you saw him or Okay. >> And apparently this isn't the first time it's happened. Apparently, it happened when they were in Georgia, too. >> Not only to her, but to friends of hers and stuff in Georgia. That's why they've never wanted to come over to the house or anything else. And he only does it when he gets drunk. And he's been drinking real He's got a real bad drinking problem. Okay. >> What the family described to officers was deeply unsettling, but according to them, when confronted, the man would get very fierce. Well, I confronted him about it. Okay. I had my son come over cuz my son don't live here and he lives in Belleview and I had my son come over and we confronted him about it >> and it blew up. He >> did. You call us last night or No. >> No. >> Okay. >> No, she I wasn't here and she didn't tell me about it till here just a little. >> Did you guys confront him here? >> Yes. >> Okay. But but you didn't call us, right? >> No. >> Oh, you confronted him today? Just now? >> Yes. We just now we just now confronted him about, you know, what happened and everything else. >> And he went haywire, ballistic, >> punching my walls, my doors, telling me he's going to take out of my house. Took all the started taking all theing groceries out of the house and putting them in bags and putting them in his car, everything else. Got the kids and put all them in his car and everything else. Well, while he was hooking up the trailer, I went and got the kids out of the car cuz he's not taking the kids now. No, >> they're your kids. >> No, they're his. >> Oh, they're his kids. But he's been drinking. >> But he I know he's been drinking today. I think he's drinking. >> Probably two or three. He's been off since about 1. So, who knows if he stopped her cuz we've confronted him about his drinking problem already. >> That's not good. He got driving. >> He promised he would stop. He wouldn't do it no more. He's been hiding him in his truck. So, >> whose truck is it? his drug. >> Well, it's not even registered. >> Okay. >> And it's not even registered. The tag's been expired since 2022. >> Don't as mad as he do not. >> Okay. We don't just go. I know people think that, but we will not stop without a fight. >> Mhm. >> He decided you might have [laughter] to tase him. >> He's fought law enforcement. Does he have any weapons on him? >> Not that we know. I know he doesn't. No, he doesn't have any gun. He can't get it. the I know he doesn't have but I don't know if he grabbed the out of the or anything else because he's threatened >> just for3 this is going to be a 34 tango um they're saying he is violent with law enforcement has been in the past >> as the family recounted the events to officers it became clear that the situation had already spiraled out of control long before they arrived but when the police got face to face with him the mess started >> hey >> yo you're not >> you're not going you're not going to jail. Listen, >> you're not going to jail. No, you're not. You need TO TALK TO LYING ON ME. >> LISTEN, YOU NEED TO TALK. Talk to me. You're not going to jail. I'm telling you now. I'm telling you now. You're not going to jail. >> This mother touched me. I'm done. >> I'm not You're not going to jail. I'm telling you now. >> Touch me. That's all I got to say. >> I'm going to Charlie. Stop. >> You're literally stepping out. >> Is it Is it Charlie? >> Yes. >> Listen, my name is Spencer. >> I'm tell I'm telling you now, you are not going to jail. Okay. >> Oh, good. Let me unhook this channel and leave. >> You're You're not leaving cuz we got some stuff to talk about. But you're not going to jail. >> What? What? What law have I broken? >> I'm telling you right now, we have some stuff to talk. I have to make sure that you're mentally okay. All right. But you're not going to jail. Okay. >> I'm not I'm not going. >> So, I'm here to I want to try to help you. Okay. I promise you that. >> It don't matter. >> What? >> I'm into it tonight. It don't [ __ ] matter. >> I don't want that for you. >> Yeah. Well, too bad. They want it. >> They do not WANT IT. LISTEN, I just sat here and talked to they DO NOT WANT THAT. BUBBA, >> BUBBA, they don't want >> They do not want that for you. I'm telling you now, >> Charlieie. Charlie. Charlie, >> calm down. Bubba, take some deep breaths. Okay, take some deep breaths. >> I'm not doing this. >> Take some deep breaths, buddy. >> You are not in trouble. >> You're not in trouble. >> Listen to me. You're not in trouble, buddy. Smoke your cigarette. Relax. We got time, man. You're not going to jail. I'm telling you right now. >> All I did was just take my kids for my life. >> You're good. >> That's all they did. That's all she did. All because SHE DIDN'T COME AND GET ME INSTEAD OF BLAMING ME. >> CAN YOU GUYS HEY, can you guys go inside for me right now? >> Charles wasn't interested in listening to the officer at all. And the more the officer urged him to calm down, the more volatile he became. >> I just got blamed for looking at my niece's window, knowing that I've been protected all these goddamn years. >> I hear you. >> And you got me tripping. I got what? >> He's got all his godd friends trying to say, "Oh, I he used to say to me, show me some poop." >> I'm trying to deescalate him right now. Just calm down, buddy. We got all day, okay? I'm telling you. We're going to We're going to work this out. >> [ __ ] truck. >> We're going to work this out. I'm telling you. >> Get out of this truck. >> You're not going to jail, bub. I'm telling you. But I do want to check to make sure that you're mentally okay. >> I'ming not. I'm telling you I'm not. >> Okay. Well, let me ask you. Do you have any car, man? >> Nope. I find them last week. >> Awesome. I'm glad to hear that. All right, but like I said, we got we got stuff to talk about, man. >> I've been through two god and this is extra added to it and now another time I can't see my kid. What's the point? >> What's the point? Keep doing anything anymore. >> What can I do to help take my kids from me and I'm the only one doing A GOD FATHER'S JOB. I'M THE ONLY ONE HAD A BUCK TO DO WHAT NO ONE ELSE DOES. >> I hear you. But yeah, I'm a piece of >> No one thinks you're a piece of >> They do. >> That's not what they told me, man. That is not what they told me. >> They told you that. >> That's what they just said two minutes ago. >> They They thought that maybe the way you acted was a little inappropriate. They said that you were smashing walls and stuff, but they didn't say you're a piece of damage. >> They care about show me damage. >> Listen, I'm not here about that. I'm not here. >> They broke a god. >> I'm not here about that. I'm here just to make sure that you >> touch my number damn thing. >> I don't want you to I don't want you to get hurt, man. Police blame me for looking in her window and instead of coming out of the room to make me come out here to look, she said she seen a hand. So automatically it's me because one of her friends said that she thought she seen me doing it 10 years ago. >> It's like WHAT THE TALKING ABOUT. >> Continuing to resist, Charles refused to engage with officers despite their repeated attempts to reason with him. But patience had run its course and officers were ready to go to the next level. >> That's your partner. Watch me one time. Step out. I'm >> not stepping out. >> Yes, you are going to step out. >> I did nothing wrong. You step out if you don't step out >> for what? I'm not running. >> All right. >> I mean, where am I going to run with 10 dudes, bro? Come on out. >> Cuz I'm not going to jail. You're not You're not going to jail. >> Did anybody say you're going to jail? >> I've told you numerous times. >> All here, bro. It's just That's way >> You're not going to jail. >> Put your hands right here. >> Look here. You're good, Bubba. >> I know. They already told me. Just put your hands up here. >> I ain't got a damn thing, bro. >> Okay, you're good. >> But I did nothing wrong. I didn't touch him. I didn't break nothing. I grabbed my sculpt and I left. That is it. >> Okay. >> I didn't do a thing wrong. I'm getting blamed for something. I'm not upset because it's bull. >> Listen, I haven't lied to you this whole time. You're not going to jail. >> All right, man. Please just don't. If I go, I'm almost smash my head against every brick wall y'all got. >> You're not going to jail. >> I don't give a fake it till y'all let me out of that little box you put me in. I will. I don't give a going to happen whether y'all like it or not. If you don't leave me alone, so it don't matter. >> I did nothing wrong. >> I I didn't say you did, Bob. But when you start telling me that you're going to yourself or hurt yourself, man. Then that's what we got to tell. There ain't no point in living no more. >> You're just going to talk to somebody. >> You're just going to talk to someone. That's it. >> I'm not. No. This is bull. >> Bubba. I didn't do anything. Bubba, don't make it. >> Oh, come on. >> Listen. If you start acting out, then you are going to go to jail. Otherwise, otherwise, we're just going to take you to talk to someone, man. That's >> I don't need nobody to talk to. God, I can't do this. >> Not again. I didn't do anything wrong, man. In the end, Charles was charged with possession of a weapon, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, obstruction without violence, possession of narcotics, and failure to register a motor vehicle. In this next case, a man believed the disturbing secret stored on his devices was safe until the day his wife went looking and found everything. >> I found some stuff on my husband's phone and seen this [ __ ] and I never thought it would happen to me. [snorts] And I'm just we got kids. One of them >> had over a hundred images. 22 of those files were recognized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's Database. >> I didn't know that then cuz I mean I just didn't know. I also figured it was a gray area cuz it's not real. >> On August 24th, 2024 in Cedar Springs, Michigan, what started as a wife suspecting her husband of cheating during a family cookout turned into something nobody in that house was prepared for. After an hourong standoff over a passcode, what she finally saw on that screen had absolutely nothing to do with cheating, and she called the police without saying another word to him. >> I found some stuff on my husband's phone, and it appears to be camera. >> Where's he at? >> He left cuz he knew. >> He knew. >> Yeah, I took He was acting really weird this morning about his phone. Yes. >> Your dad? >> My dad? Yeah. That's my mom and two kids. He was acting really weird. So I [snorts] >> and that zero yellow >> gray title or whatever >> like it I don't know. >> Okay. I can't search it. That's his phone. >> Yeah. >> I can't search it. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I am not asking you to search it. >> I will search it. I'm not asking I'm not asking you to and I'm not making you an agent of the stand. Okay. >> I understand if I go through it that's not going to mess up any investigation >> as far as I I'm not going to ask you to to >> Okay. But can I willfully >> It's up to you. >> I'm sorry. This is not what >> Has he ever been in trouble for this type of thing? >> Not to my knowledge. >> I took his computer, too. >> Hey, I'll take most of those. Where's he at? >> I don't know. I don't know. Did he make any suicidal statements or >> No, the last thing I said to him was, "You're going to prison." >> I'm glad. >> Sorry I haven't. Can I show it to you? >> That's as far as I've got. [snorts] >> What is that? >> Is that a website? >> Yeah. >> Is that [snorts] Is it just a picture or >> Yeah, it's like a AI thing. I have a computer. Is that the only electronic sheet back that you're aware of? >> Well, we have a PlayStation 5 and then my daughter has a couple games. But >> I'm over here. Is that the only video that you saw or was there any videos or was it just that? >> I have a problem with you guys. >> Do you have that open still so I can just kind of >> As she walked officers through those moments, the weight of what she discovered pressed down on every word. Working as an emergency room nurse, she had seen terrible things. But finding this on her own husband's phone was different. The man she trusted had been hiding something far darker than she ever imagined. And now officers were determined to understand exactly how things had gone down. >> Run me through how this all played out together. >> So I was putting our phone to bed and we were supposed to have >> he just disappeared. And after I got him settled down, I was trying to find him and I walked out to our garage side door and he like threw his phone in his pocket. He was standing in here and looked all frazzled and I was like, "What was what the heck?" >> And he was like, "Oh, I was just talking to Eddie, which is his friend, and he was acting really weird." So he like grabbed a leaf blower and started leafly blowing the grass out of the garage, and I took it out of his pocket and walked away with it. And he followed me cuz I probably cheat. And he followed me and he was like, "Give me my phone." And I was like, "Give me your passcode." And he's like, "No, no." And this went on for like an hour. We were just going back and forth. >> Was you here for any of this? >> No. He showed up at the last second. I was just telling him like, "Get out. Like you're obviously cheating. This is super weird." And he eventually was like, "If I give it to you, like passcode, can we have a conversation?" And I was like, >> "No, like I said, yeah, give me the passcode." And he did. And then I was like, "Okay, now you can go. I didn't look at it yet." And and then they showed up. So I got kids ready cuz I wanted them to leave cuz I thought he was cheating. So I thought, "You're going to have a conversation about that." So they get the two kids and walk out and then I pull it up. So, I came back out and told my dad to come back in with me so I could grab my stuff and go cuz I was just going to go to the police station with this. >> But I just decided to call you guys because I'm so disgusted. >> And I'm what happened with him. >> Um, I told my mom to take cuz I want to be here cuz I'm now freaking out >> and my dad stayed back when we were over here. He came out in his truck and walked. >> Did he say anything to you about what you saw? So when I walked I went back in my room cuz I was still in pajamas. Just started early and to get dressed and I looked around the corner in our bedroom to our master bathroom and I said, "You're going to prison." And I just walked out. >> Are you saying you in response? >> No. >> What was his body language? >> I don't. >> The detail that stopped officers wasn't just about what was on that phone. It was about where Mark Label spent his days and who he was around. That single piece of information turned a domestic call into something that went far beyond the walls of that house. >> This is my cap, too. I'm an emergency nurse. I worked at the boss for 3 years in the ED. I have seen this and I never thought it would happen to me. And I'm just we got two kids. One of them like [snorts] I just like kept going to get out. And he was like, "All right, then I'll leave." And I'm like, "What is on your phone that's so bad that like you know I would kick you out over like you're and he made comments about needing therapy and then >> what >> what do you mean you in therapy?" >> No. Him. He was like, "I need therapy." Like he kept saying something like that and then he told me that he was looking at another of a pregnant woman and I was like that's not enough to make me leave. Like whatever. What is your problem? And then he said, this went on for like an hour back and forth where I kept saying, "Just get out." And he kept saying, "Give me my phone." And I was like, "I'm not. There's something on this phone that's so bad that >> you're willing to leave over it." So it's not and >> what you drive >> an F-150. >> Are you going to go with them? >> Yeah, I think at least tell you guys, do whatever. I don't know what I've got. >> Okay. I just need to know you're going to have a safe place. >> Yeah. Um Where does he work at? >> Cedar Springs Public Schools. He's amazing standing there. >> Two days later, detectives sat down with Label for the first time. He had an explanation ready. AI generated images. Nothing real. No real children involved. He described it as something new and exciting. He had spent about a week exploring. Detectives listened to every word and not a single one of them changed what came next. >> Buddy, you just got to let us know what she's going to find so she doesn't get blasted off. know if I need to open these downloads in a private setting or >> Right. Yeah. I don't I mean I don't think I ever downloaded anything. >> I'm sorry. I meant the phone download. So that would be your search history, everything that you type into that phone. >> Yeah. that I mean the images that you'll find on I mean I don't know if it works that way or not but if it so the AI generates images and then I don't know if it works that way or not if you'll see those but >> yeah she'll see exactly what was on the screen of that phone will be in the download >> right >> so like >> so yeah you'll see I mean for it's AI so it's not perfect so it does a lot of weird stuff sometimes but yeah it'll you know, just a lot of graphic images of basically that >> of what specifically? >> Um, I don't know like kids and and adults. >> How old kids? >> Uh, varies probably from 10 to even I mean into adulthood really >> cuz I was just doing things like I mean I was looking like um celebrities too and whatot. Sure. So, you're just kind of out new searches? >> Yeah, I was just doing messing with it. >> Yeah, I was literally just, you know, it was a lot of different things that I was making it do basically. >> Okay. And how often do you think you created these images? >> Uh, for about a week straight pretty much every day. Every night it seemed like like it was just I don't know, it was something new and exciting. Detectives returned to speak with his wife again, delivering news. She did not expect the phone she turned over did not contain the evidence they needed to move forward. Her disappointment was visible. But investigators knew that people who hide things rarely keep them in just one place. >> Did you guys want to go through that garage where all his stuff is? Cuz if he was hiding something, >> we just did. Oh, >> yes, ma'am. So, didn't find anything. Um, I know that might not feel a whole lot different than if we did, but um, we went through that. I tossed that truck. I mean, you know, it's not many hiding spaces there. It's pretty clean. So, I don't at all want to dismiss your concern. >> Yeah. >> But I think at this point, we've done everything that we can. >> I appreciate you guys coming. I didn't real the way [snorts] it was described to me the picture found on that phone was like over like 827. >> It's hard to say. >> Um but knowing that Detective Van Ree is an expert and he deals with this sort of stuff sort of like Sar Cardinas all the time. >> So that's all they work. So, I'm confident in his assessment that he could not confidently say that that picture was a camera intended to surveil somebody without their knowledge. And I have seen those plenty of them. >> So, I don't >> What's with the him camera? >> It honestly could be used for a lot of things. Um, we at my house, I've used trail or not trail cameras, but um like fishing line type of camera >> to find a wire to move the thermostat. >> I'm a maintenance man, but my dad did all that kind of stuff. >> Listen, like I said, I don't I don't want to dismiss your concern at all, but we at this point have left no stone unturned. >> Have you searched his house? His dad's house? Like whatever he took? cuz he took out of here >> a blue bag >> full of crap. I don't know. >> Unfortunately, we can't we don't have enough for that. >> But we did anything that was on his phones, his iCloud, his computer, his all of it. We've searched it and I have not found a shred of evidence that indicates [snorts] anybody from your family was involved. Moreover, the wife mentioned something that caught their attention, something that detectives realized might tell a story his phone never could. The investigation was far from over. >> That that part is illegal. You cannot create AI images of juveniles involved in sexual activity or child or any of it. But we didn't find that. And like I said, I'm not saying you didn't see that, but I'm saying we didn't find it. So, >> it was the first thing on his phone. >> Yeah. Even if he was searching under an incognito browser, we don't we don't have the image. Now, that if if we would have found five more images or two more videos, that wouldn't have changed the charge. I mean, he was charged with aggravated possession of activ or child sexually abusive material. So, that the difference between those two things would not have changed his charge at all. >> We got him with the most that we could have. I understand that. But if there's without proof that >> when you see the judge for those uh custodial rights or um child visitation, just make sure you're voicing those opinions >> and their their burden of proof and their decisions are made separate from ours. So I'm confident that any judge will come to the same conclusion as you have. Like it's hello, right? like you can see how easy one would be connected to the other. But as far as charges and evidence, we don't have enough. [clears throat] >> But like I said, if that does change, if if all of a sudden he wakes up and wants to have an honest conversation, not the conversations that he and I had about I don't know anything about anything. >> Believe me, like we >> I've heard that before. >> Yes. So, >> um, I [snorts] appreciate your time and you cutting out of work. >> If I can find that computer, monitor, whatever that I tore down, the rest of that, you guys want that. He never threw anything away, so he either has it or it's somewhere. >> The monitor is of no help. not like whatever is in the >> if you've got something give me a call >> and and we'll work through that and I'll talk with either uh Paul Detective Van Ree or Detective Day >> and they are experts in those sort of things and I want to make sure that we have all the evidence that's available. We just there's nothing else right now. >> Okay, >> that makes sense. Do you have any other questions or anything else we can do for you while we're here? I appreciate you guys. >> What forensic analysts pulled from Label's laptop left no room for doubt. Over 100 illegal images, 22 confirmed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as real documented victims. His story had completely unraveled when detectives laid it all before him in a second interview. The calm in that room was haunting. And I wanted to give you an opportunity to explain what was on that laptop because like we spoke about before, I mean, this is your opportunity [music] to bear everything. >> Mhm. >> And like I told you before is I I feared that and I have I still have concern that >> what was on the laptop. >> Mhm. either you're not accepting that that's yours or you're trying to pawn it off on somebody else >> and it's not getting to the root of your issues. >> Right. I'm not trying to pawn it off and like I said, I don't think anybody else would have access to it cuz I don't know. But [snorts] um I mean I I downloaded a thing called a happening probably a long time ago which had like a lot it was like a it was like a leak um of of people's uh pictures or something. >> Mhm. >> So I downloaded that. So there was probably I think probably a bunch of pictures of random stuff. Um I don't know what would be on there. I never even got a chance to go through all of them. There was so many. I didn't realize it. Other than that, I don't I have no idea what it could be. >> So, let's talk specifically about the abusive material that's [clears throat] on that laptop. I want to know where you got it. >> Yeah. I don't really I don't know what to tell you there. Um, I don't know why there would be anything actually associated on that laptop as far as that cuz I'd never downloaded anything like that or any like the only thing I've ever done was go to a website long time ago on it. Um, and it was like a forum would say that just brings you to another website, but I've never downloaded anything or anything like that cuz, you know, clearly I knew what I was doing was not right by any means, but I don't I never I've never had anything other than that. >> What label could never explain away was simple. He claimed he had no idea what was on that laptop. Yet, the moment he knew police were coming, it was the first thing he grabbed walking out that door. You know, I've never watched a video or anything like these are all just pictures that are online. >> Okay. So, the pictures that were online, do you remember what the website was called? >> Uh, so the forum just takes you to random like number websites. So, I don't I don't know. The forum was like um like something land or something like that. Um, and then you click on something and it brings you to another website and then it's just an IP address basically. So I don't recall exactly. Um, yeah. I can't believe there was actually anything on there. Um, I really didn't know that. >> So you have [snorts] nothing else to give for that? >> I really don't. Um, I I literally never downloaded anything that I know of. >> One second. I'll be right back. >> So, like I said, I went through our internet crimes against children, downloaded, all of your devices, and your possession in the laptop was materialally material with, >> right? >> So, I need to know who the pictures are of because that was the >> that I would know. >> Okay. >> I don't know. I mean, I really don't know how it got on my laptop because I never downloaded anything. Maybe by accident, I guess. But >> by accident. Okay. So, >> I mean, I'm not saying I did. I just don't cuz I don't know how it could have gotten there. It doesn't make any sense to me. >> It doesn't make any sense, especially because you had over 100 images. 22 of those files were recognized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's Database as having >> hash values that are >> but there is other there are those other images that >> right >> are unknown. So I need to know where you got them. >> Like I said the only thing I ever I know that I downloaded was the thing called the the fappening I think it was called and they might have been mixed in with that. I don't know. >> Okay. But what about going to the website? >> No. >> Because that is traditional trade craft >> of one website to another to another to [music] another. >> Right. I've never done anything. >> I really have. I don't know how that like I didn't even know it was on there. >> Okay. Have you viewed it? Have you viewed previous material? >> That's what I'm saying is I don't know how what went on there. I know I use this AI stuff. anything else they did was >> it's not it's not AI and it's not >> well the laptop like I said >> there is erotica which is different but the material is yours >> it's on your laptop >> I don't I really I have no idea [music] I really don't I mean for one it was over 10 years ago >> I I wouldn't even remember if I wanted >> Even with everything confirmed and laid out in front of him label kept searching for exits a forgotten download an unnamed website content that somehow appeared without him. By the end of that room, every explanation had run out of road entirely. >> When you fled your house, when you knew the police were coming to grab >> Well, I grabbed my laptop, but I wanted some form of communication. >> Keyboard doesn't even work. >> Right. Well, you're right. It doesn't. But >> so, >> you can use an external keyboard for a laptop, though. >> What this investigation Do you have one? >> Yeah, of course. You can you can get one for $5. >> What this investigation is going to outline is that >> your wife found CSAM on your phone and then we get involved, >> right? >> And we have a conversation and you say, "No, no, no. All I've made is AI images. I give you the opportunity." And we have this long conversation with the three of us >> and I download the phone and Okay. There's not a lot there. Those AI images, I don't feel confident that they were intended to depict a pubescent or preubescent child, >> right? >> They're kind of they're in that gray area. >> And I say, >> right, but you know as well as I do that producing AI is illegal, >> right? Well, I didn't know that then cuz I mean I just didn't know. I also figured it was a gray area cuz it's not real. Um I didn't know. I mean clearly morally I knew it was wrong but uh and and when I started it it was innocent and then the AI itself decided to show me that and that's kind of where it spiraled from. Um didn't even ask for it. Um it's it's a technology that should not exist. So that's where you want to end this is that you have no culpability of >> I really don't know how I don't I I promise I can't I can't hop that I got on my laptop. I really don't. >> All right. So, at this point, you are under arrest for aggravated possession of material and using a computer to commit a crime, >> right? >> With 10 years or greater, both of those being 10ear felonies. So, go ahead and kick your shoes off and empty your pockets, everything out of the state, please. >> On October 29th, 2024, Label was arrested and charged with aggravated possession and using a computer to commit a crime. In February 2025, he pleaded no contest, facing up to 10 years, a $50,000 fine, and lifetime registration. Next case, a man had been hiding his darkest secret inside [music] a digital vault, completely unaware that officers had already been closing in on him for weeks. But then came the day when his wife discovered it, too. >> Police department. Everyone, come outside. >> How long you been? >> I guess I want to hear myself. >> I'm addicted. I need help. >> Gotcha. How old would she look? Oh, yes. You remember your age was? >> I don't. >> On January 23rd, 2025, detectives executed a search warrant at a quiet residence in Alangquin. What they were looking for was hidden inside the devices of the man who lived there. And his wife had absolutely no idea what was about to unravel. >> Okay. Who else is in the house? >> Police department. Everyone come outside. >> No, I don't. >> Police department, everyone come outside. Did something happen? >> Male subject on the top. >> All right. Anyone else inside? >> No. That's all right. We'll get to step out. >> Come over here. That's all right. All right. Stay here. >> Those will be a couple minutes. Then we'll bring you back inside. Stay here for now. >> Yeah, go ahead. >> Where you got shoes at? >> What's that? Oh, the shoe rack is right there. >> Thank you, boss. >> Those yours? >> Yep. >> Are these yours? >> Let me search this coat real quick and >> I have a Ring camera. Um, my phone's in my bedroom, of course, but I'm wondering if that saw anything. Might be able to help you guys. >> Tommy, do you know anything? >> No. >> What the hell's going on? There is one firearm in the house uh on my nightstand facing the window. The one closest to the window that's in a lock box. >> And then you have one in the closet as well. >> And one in the closet. Yes. >> Oh, there's two >> two firearms. Yes. >> Are they loaded? >> No. >> The detective barely began explaining what they were investigating. And the husband named Thomas immediately jumped in with excuses and explanations nobody had asked for while his wife sat beside him trying to make sense of all that was happening. >> I'm Detective Scrazky. I know this is a shock to both of you. Yeah. >> So, I'll try to trim best I can. Are you guys the only people that reside here? >> Yes. >> We're the only residents. >> Yes. >> All right. >> That alarm is my alarm clock upstairs. I don't know. >> Yeah. No, you're good. We'll we'll figure it out. >> How long have you lived here? >> Uh, we bought November 14th of last year. So, a little over a year now. >> So, November. Keep it 20 24. >> Yeah. 2023. >> No, 2023. He's right. It was right before the >> All right. And uh what internet service provider do you guys have? >> Xfinity. >> X Comcast Xfinity. >> Yeah, >> pretty much since you moved in. >> Yes. >> And uh what service do you have for your cell phone? >> Uh AT&T through my parents. I'm still on their phone. >> You're on their plan. And your >> uh I'm still on my parents. We have Verizon. >> Gotcha. So um what I do at the Alton Police Department is I work internet crimes. So I'll explain what that entails. Um that is usually when I receive a what's what's called a cyber tip from a company electronic service provider um they'll say oh we located this on our platform we need you to investigate it and I'll look into that file legal process whether that just search you know and try and get more information >> okay >> I've been having really like like hacking stuff pop up >> Thomas that's what I'd like to talk with people um is it okay while we have this discuss discussion if it's in private if uh your wife maybe waits upstairs. That's okay. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And I'll give you a copy of the search warrant. Ma'am, you can look that over if you'd like while you're waiting. >> And uh we'll probably just have another officer wait you in a separate room. Which room would you like to wait in? >> I guess my pleasure. I'll turn off the alarm. >> Okay. Yeah. Not >> Can I ask a couple questions? >> Yes. Go ahead. So, I know this is because he got hacked. I know that for a fact. So, what's all going to happen then? So, is he going to court for something? >> I'll explain that. Obviously, if that's the case, we need to discuss some things. >> When the wife left the room, the detective started the conversation with the husband, and the hacking story he'd been clinging to started falling apart with every question that followed. >> Do you uh use any social media or anything? >> Uh, yeah, like the usernames. Mhm. Uh, capital Z E FT98. >> What do you use that for? >> Uh, Steam and Discord. >> Uh, do you use any social media? >> No, I got rid of it all. That's what I started seeing the weird stuff on. >> Uh, explain that. >> Uh, so you know like the uh when you like go to search for something, they were getting like these weird creepy search results and then like the recommended feed was getting filled with all this crap and I wasn't the one that searched it. I don't look at that crap. And I just said, "Okay, forget that. I'm done with all social media." I tried reinstalling it once with new profile, username, that sort of stuff, new password. Same started happening. So, I just deleted again and then >> So, you said you noticed uh stuff coming up on your social media. >> Yeah. >> What kind of stuff? like it was like like like gymnastics like gymnastics and I I'm I'm not searching for that. So I decided I'm not going to I'm going to delete the account and not have that uh I'm not going to be on that platform anymore. >> The detective had heard enough excuses. He told him to come clean and what the suspect admitted next about how long this had really been going on was something the detective hadn't expected. So, I'm going to preface what I say next with this and it's very important that you're honest. >> Um, so I' I've done a lot of these cases and I have people explain all types of things. They say, "I was looking at it out of curiosity. I've been hacked." But ultimately um those forensic uh examiners up there, it's their job to look through computers, cell phones, and they find what are called artifacts of of searches of programs. Um so they're deter able to determine what's installed on devices, the files people have been accessing, their internet browser history, all that kind of stuff. Um so they're going to look through all that and what my suspicion is is that you've been downloading and saving it to Dropbox. And ultimately, they're going to determine the forensic artifacts associated with that. What I need you to do is to be honest because when it comes to this stuff, it does not look good when someone's lying about it. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, and I understand sometimes people have remorse. They're like, I've had this problem for a while. I'm trying to get help. Um, I just need to know what's going on. And I'll try to keep it as simple as I can and disclose as little as possible to her as I need to. Um, practically, but I just need How long? >> I guess so. When I was when I was a minor myself. >> When you were a minor. >> When did you first see that kind of stuff? >> What? >> I don't remember. >> Do you remember what platforms that on? >> Um, you guys don't mind stepping on. >> Usually people remember where they discovered stuff. Website file service. First one was a little kick. That was like a a mobile. >> Yeah. Cases from them. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> We'll wait until she goes back in the room. Okay. >> Now, so it's a little bit quieter. Do you want to go sit at table? So, I ask you a couple other questions. >> Yeah. >> As they [clears throat] spoke, Thomas described how deep his addiction went. And then he let out a detail about a young girl he'd met online. Something that completely changed the direction of the interview. >> Have you ever produced Chop? No. All right. >> When you were telling me before those were hacked, is was that just a white lie? >> It's like 50/50. >> Okay. >> What's the you seen when you and nothing surprises me? >> Yeah. I I don't know >> if you could estimate the youngest age of uh any of the you saw on there. >> I couldn't tell you. >> Uh probably younger than 13. Correct. >> Okay. Yeah. Gotcha. Um do you prefer photos or videos? I was going to say everyone's got a preference and I understand that I'm not asking you these questions to make you feel bad. Uh I'm just asking you them because they're part of the procedure type of questions.
