pass out. >> This police officer had just watched a fellow officer lose their life right before his eyes. Tragically, it's far from the only time danger strikes in an instant and a cop doesn't make it home. >> You're the one who called. >> I didn't call. >> Huh? >> I called asleep. >> [screaming] >> Hey. Hey. Stay with me. Stay with me. >> Dion, it's Houston. Police. Let's do this thing. [music] Give me cover. >> These were the moments when cops found their partner lifeless while on duty. Starting with the moment a welfare check turned into an ambush, resulting in the tragic demise of an officer. >> Should have never broke in my house. Sorry about that. [music] On May 11th, 2023, dispatchers in Bourge, Ontario, received a call from a woman who reported hearing loud music, screaming, and the sound of a firearm shot coming from the house next door. Officers were sent out to make sure everything was okay. But this wellness [music] check would soon morph into their worst nightmare. Echo the location, airport. as well. Okay. Okay. sit right back up. But it said that. >> Yeah. Come on up. >> I still have that. >> Well, I get with those window bolts. I just covered the front door. We're just going to do a perimeter check first. So far, everything seemed quiet as officers made their way around 39-year-old Allen's home. However, what they didn't see was Allan sitting quietly inside, ready to unleash hell. Dolly, change up. So, we'll see. Dolly wants to have a gun. That's This ball was a ghost. What? What? I defment. >> When Allan refused to open the door, the [music] officers braced for the worst, forcing their way inside to make contact. But that decision would turn out to be the [music] biggest mistake of their careers. You [ __ ] on such [ __ ] should have never broke into my house. Sorry about that. Allan fired nine rounds. Sergeant Eric Mueller was struck almost [music] instantly, collapsing inside the mudroom. Constables Mark Loen and France Gamash were also hit, though their body armor stopped the [music] bullets. And as the weight of what he had done sank in, Allan began to panic. Please Fire shot police officer just unfortunately broke into my house. police in my house. Where are you? >> Where am I? >> Additional units rushed in as Sergeant Mueller lay helpless on the floor and despite paramedics efforts, he passed away. The suspect, Alan Beloy, was later charged with one count of firstdegree [music] and two counts of attempted murder. In a similarly heartbreaking turn of events, this officer never expected that responding to a routine domestic disturbance call would become his final stand. Let the kid go to a tree. [music] >> Let him go. Let go of the kid. >> On May 11th, 2021, the Stockton Police Telecommunication Center [music] received a terrifying call that would shake the whole department for years to come. >> 911. What is your emergency? >> Yeah. Um they I think the people across the street need some help at >> like medical help or the police. >> Um like yeah >> and what do you see or what do you hear? >> They're screaming, yelling. The windows are shaking. Is everything okay? >> Um I think I think that man is going crazy over there. He's been acting really strange the last couple days. I've just seen >> Is he white, black, Hispanic, Asian? >> He's black. But I don't really know what's going on. Can I see the windows shaking? The lady's screaming, yelling for help. I'm not sure. I think the kids may be at school, but it looks pretty um serious over there. >> 911. What was your emergency? >> Uh there's a domestic disturbance at my next door [music] neighbor's house. >> Do you know their apartment number address? >> Um >> okay. What is your address? I see the um the wife leaving now. So I don't Her shirt is ripped. >> And there's a female. >> Huh? >> Is a male a female? >> Yes. A female and a child. It looks like the female is bleeding. >> Given the severity of the situation, officer Jimmy Inn arrived on scene shortly after the call, unaware of the danger that loomed on the other side of that door. Please. [music] [music] >> Hey, police. >> Hello. The suspect opened fire on officer Jimmy Inn before he could even speak, striking him multiple times. Hearing the fire, officer Panchcho Frier rushed from his cruiser to help his partner, only to find the situation spiraling out of control. Fired. Fired. Partner's down. Jimmy, you all right? >> 58 fired. My partner is down. Code three now. >> Too late for 58. >> Fired. My partner is down. >> Jimmy. Jimmy. Stay with me. Jimmy, don't do it. >> Let the kid go. >> Don't do it. >> I want you. >> Put Let the kid go, man. >> I don't want to You >> I don't want to You >> don't let the Let the kid go, man. We're on the corner. After a painfully long standoff, the deputy was finally able to get officer in some medical help. [music] Unfortunately, it seemed like it had already been too late. >> Oh my. They have your stocking uh off of Bianke. Lacress away Canada. Come on, dude. officer. He's unresponsive for at least 5 to 7 minutes. I don't know more than this [ __ ] was [ __ ] crazy, guys. This is [ __ ] crazy, guys. Oh, there's another person down over here. [clears throat] Can I have officers 948? >> [clears throat] >> motor down with 79. They're not even trying to save this guy, man. This is >> Wow. Right. >> Oh my god. These guys aren't going to be happy with me. They don't like my camera. Most of the people in this neighborhood don't either. This cop car was shot. >> Paramedics arrived on scene and transported officer in and the man to a hospital. Tragically, the officer passed away from his injuries. The man also [music] passed away shortly after. Moving on to the case where officers encountered a suspect posing as a concerned granny fed [music] up with noise, but in reality it was a setup to lure them into a trap. >> Tell me what's going on with your neighbor, man. I've had multiple complaints with these people over here. >> On November 6th, 2024, a young man named Kelvin Ross was riding a four-wheeler behind a friend doing wheelies on a dirt bike. Ross was filming the ride with his phone. As they reached the end of a quiet road, they stopped in front of a house where 65-year-old Ralph Stanley Lrod Jr. was standing in his driveway holding a shotgun. The situation was tense and police were called. When two Peach County Sheriff's deputies arrived to handle the incident, they tried to arrest Lrod for threatening the riders. I got it. Tell me what's going on with your neighbors. >> Man, I've had multiple complaints with these people over here. >> And I'm sure y'all had multiple >> The first time this is the first complaint I've heard about it. Okay. And and the problem is is that you took your you took what you felt was your authority out in the road. >> No. >> And and you told that man you told that man that you going to kill >> No. Well, I'm I'm just telling you I I can't I I They had a video going and that's terrible for you. >> Yeah. >> Terrible for you. >> Yeah. But y'all won't do anything. He's running a business over here. He's not paying taxes. Y'all won't do anything about it. I've already been to the marshall about it. >> Mhm. Jimmy won't do anything about it. It for the last 10 10 11 months, man, it ain't been up but pure hell in this neighborhood because of them. Where's your gun at? >> What difference does that make you? No, you don't. Well, just just so you know, you're under arrest. Okay. >> Yes. >> Out of nowhere, Lrod pulled out a handgun and shot both deputies, ending their lives on the spot. Moments later, backup officers arrived only to find Lrod armed with multiple guns, wearing a utility vest, and prepared for a full-on standoff. What do you do? To this day, no one fully understands why Lrod suddenly turned violent. But that brief roadside encounter ended in a tragic double. The tragedy didn't end there as this was the moment officers responded to a residence not knowing the suspect was waiting inside with a firearm. >> Fire hostage. >> On April 4th, 2019, officers received a trouble unknown call after family members reported seeing blood and an unresponsive woman in the garage of a home in the Eagle Ridge subdivision, Stockbridge. Officers Keegan Merritt and Taylor Webb were the first responders. >> Two 32 radio. Blood in the driveway. Females visible inside. Unresponsive. We're about to force entry. >> You ready, Foster? >> Officer Webb forcibly entered through the front door, at which point he was immediately hit with gunfire. First in the chest, then the hip. [screaming] Shots fire. I shot fire. Shots. He's on [screaming] it. HE'S ON THE UM NO, DON'T GO AROUND. He's on the home. >> The home. Oh [ __ ] >> Watch out. >> Merritt, who was posted outside behind a tree, was also [music] struck. His middle finger and trigger finger were crushed by a bullet. Shots fired. Ready. Shot fired. Shot fired. Yeah, I'm I'm hit. I'm hit. >> Back inside the house, officer Webb's body cam, which had fallen off during the exchange, [music] captured audio of the suspect taking a hostage in an attempt to keep the officers away. >> Don't come in here. Don't come in. >> Don't come here. Do not come in here. >> I got a lot of shot. Yes, sir. >> I got a lot of shot. Third shot. I got a hostage. >> I got a hostage. >> Don't come in here. I got a lot of shots. I got a lot of shots. I got third round of clips in here. >> Hey, man. Come on out here. >> I ain't coming nowhere. >> Where's that officer at? >> Anybody out here? >> He downstairs somewhere. >> Where's he at? >> I don't know. I hear him move. >> Huh? I guess I saw him and he moved. [music] >> The suspect had taken the lives of his wife and son prior to the officers arriving at the scene. After a 17-hour long standoff with the suspect, a SWAT team entered the home using tear gas only to find him deceased from a self-inflicted wound. The two injured officers received medical treatment and have since recovered. Moving on to another case, officers responded to what began as a domestic dispute only to find themselves suddenly surrounded by gunfire inches away from not all of them making it home. I hear that. What's going on? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. >> On March 8th, 2024, Township police responded to a domestic dispute on Orchard Avenue, unaware that what started as a routine call would quickly escalate into a violent encounter. >> Had way too much drink and I don't really quite understand what he's upset about. Um, but it's a little bit out of control. Um, he does have a lot of guns in the basement. He's a hunter. things like that. He's not me specifically, >> right? >> But I am not able to reach him and don't really understand what's happening. >> No, he's calling us all kinds of names, all very derogatory things like that. He's saying, "I'm going to kill you." >> The homeowner explained that Vincent had drunk too much and was out of control, that he had many guns in the basement, and that nobody could reach him while hinting at the danger waiting inside. >> What's his name? >> Vincent. >> Vincent. Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right. You just want to hang out here with my partner and uncle. >> I do absolutely. My dog is very sweet. She's big. She's not >> Oh, I'm good with dogs. I love dogs. >> Where is he right now? >> He's uh probably in the basement. If you want, I can lead you through. It's not like a bad situation. >> I got you. >> Officers approached Vincent to deescalate a heated situation, but he suddenly became aggressive. A struggle broke out as Vincent fought with the officers. The tension escalated rapidly, and when he reached for a weapon and charged at them, the officers were forced to open fire to protect themselves. Whoa, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA. Oh [ __ ] [ __ ] [screaming] THE [ __ ] FAN. STAND. Throw the gun. >> Throw the gun. Throw the gun. >> THROW THE GUN AWAY. [screaming] THROW THE GUN. THROW THE [ __ ] GUN. Throw [screaming] the gun. Throw the gun. >> I got you covered. Throw the gun away. >> Officers hit. Officers hit. Get EMS here. >> In the end, Vincent Kareah was pronounced deceased at the scene. No charges were filed while officer Faban, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was treated and later released from the hospital. Moving on to the moment deputies made the mistake of angering a lunatic during a traffic stop, resulting in their demise. right now. On October 12th, 2022, in Bristol, Connecticut, 35-year-old Nicholas Butcher got into a bar fight after drinking with his brother, Nathan. Later that night, police tracked down the car they'd been driving away in. >> Jeep prescription. Come get He tells me to come get him. This what I get. Where's Officer Hamy tonight? He's not working over here tonight. I think he's off. >> Hit him up, Tommy. Nick and Nick say hi. >> I could out ghost. >> He thinks he's like Hollywood. >> He wouldn't want to chase me. >> No, not this. >> You would not. We out. >> No, no, I'm not talking about that. what I'm talking about. >> But that's just funny funny. We just talk about funny stuff like that. We're comedy. >> Upon making contact with Nicholas and his brother Nathan, the officers were immediately put on edge. Nicholas was visibly intoxicated and it quickly became clear that three officers might not be enough to keep the situation under control. >> Hang tight in the truck. >> Now, I'm going to go talk to the cop, my brother. >> What is this? >> Yeah. I don't know what you're doing. >> Sit back in the truck. I'm going to talk with my brother and yourself. >> You're not listening and you're making the situation much worse. >> No, no, I you can stand right here. You're going to stay right here. If you move, you are going to be placed under arrest for interview with an investigation. Okay. Stay right here. >> No, he's fine. >> Chill out, Nick. >> Five seven mother be cops. >> Mr. McKenzie J. Yeah, cuz I got I got a job that makes money, not a [ __ ] Bristol police offic. >> See? >> Yo, look what you did. >> That brief confrontation, though fueled by alcohol, was likely something Nicholas remembered clearly. His actions later that night, made one thing certain. His hatred for law enforcement ran deep. >> That's right. He's like a ninja. He >> is. Nick, [ __ ] you, dude. Passenger seat, dude. You're the good guy. I really I really I really want to hurt you right now. So So >> tell him to get in the passenger seat, buddy. I've done nothing to be put in cuffs. >> Because Nathan's license was suspended, their car had to be towed. As they waited, Nicholas's combative behavior escalated sharply. I would love to be 5'6. >> Jesus Christ. It would be so sweet to be 5'6 yet. >> He did. >> He did. >> I'm talking to >> Shut your mouth. You're the [ __ ] guy in the rat. >> Shut up. >> Honestly, >> you're not You guys aren't going to do anything. >> I got body cams on. >> You guys aren't going to do anything. >> So, check your Check your back to the fifth in the rack >> and sit your [ __ ] ass in your car and do nothing. >> Back home >> and do nothing. >> Leave us alone. You got to get your ticket. >> Oh, that's fine. I'll take it. >> Yeah. Nathan, you just got to wait for your 76 bucks. 80. >> Not even that. >> 90. There you go. Then >> are we going to get 56? Yeah, he is. >> Soon, an officer brought a note that seemed to foreshadow just how dangerous Nicholas really was. >> Brother, brother, you got to tell me. >> I love it. >> Is it Is it sweet like that? >> I'm not going to kiss. >> I think you want to. >> Why you so close my >> I'm just standing so close. Bruter immediately began putting on his camouflage, preparing his weapons, and within 30 minutes at 10:32 p.m. placed [music] the call to 911 to lure officers to his home. >> 911. What's the address of the emergency? >> It is uh 310 Redstone Hill Road. Um your alter your officers had an altercation with a man earlier tonight. And I don't know if he's good. >> Yeah, I did. Okay. What's the emergency at 310 Redstone Hill Road? >> I don't know. It It's just not It's not good. >> Okay. What's your name? >> Nicholas. >> Nicholas. Sergeant Dustin Deonte, Officer Alex Hamsey, and Officer Alec Urado responded to the call >> right now. >> 23 of them. Damn you. Damn you. [music] >> [screaming] >> Oh [ __ ] Oh my god. Oh my god. >> Chris, do you have the address? >> 310 310 road. Although wounded in the upper leg area, Officer Urat was able to move around the back of the house and ultimately to the location of the Bristol police cruisers parked on Redstone Hill Road. From that position, [music] Officer Urro fired a bullet that took down Nicholas for good. Sergeant Deonte and Officer Hamsey were both pronounced [music] deceased. If you thought that was bad, wait until you see an innocent officer get horrifically attacked by an armed male. >> You're the one who called? >> I didn't call. >> Huh? I ain't calling nobody. >> Hey. Hey. Stay with me. Stay with me. Stay with me. >> On February 11th, 2024, officer Jonah Hernandez responded to a call about a trespassing incident in a residential neighborhood in Los Cusus, New Mexico. The report involved a man allegedly causing a disturbance outside a home. Officer Hernandez arrived on scene alone and began approaching the suspect to assess the situation. But things took a dark turn once he got close to the man. How's it going, boss? >> You've been staying here for a while. >> Yeah, this is my place. >> What's up? >> This is my place. >> Is this your place? >> Yeah. >> So, you're the one who called? >> What's that? >> You're the one who called? >> I didn't call. >> Huh? With the sound of agonal breathing from officer Jonah Hernandez and a bystander chambering around after being threatened with the knife as well, the scene was truly horrifying. Soon, an unrelated managed to reach the officer who was in extremely critical condition. What? >> Officer. Hey. Hey. Where you bleed? Hey, hey, hey, hey. Stay with me. Stay with me. Stay with me. Hey, hey, sir. Officer. Hey. >> Hey. [panting] Hey. [ __ ] Yeah. >> Yeah. I I shot him like three or four times. He stabbed in the neck really bad. >> Where's the radio? Valley in Amador. >> Valley in Amadore. Valley in Amadore. >> Yes. >> At the tiptop trailers. >> Tiptop trailer. >> Hey, >> officer down. Officer down. [panting] >> Stay awake. Stay with us, man. Go back. >> Who's your boyfriend? >> He's your boyfriend. >> Go back to the car. his his neck. I've got pressure on his side. Put him on his side. >> Officer Hernandez was transported to Mountain View Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was shot during the confrontation with the bystander and was pronounced dead at the scene. Moving on to the case where officers were left in immense pain after witnessing a fellow officer lose his life during a high-speed chase. What was meant to keep the community safe instead ended with an officer never making it home to his family. Now I'm [music] ass. >> On March 3rd, 2022, officers from the Santa Fe Police Department responded to a report of a woman who had been kidnapped at knife point and was being held hostage in a car. In a rush to chase down the suspect, things unfolded in the most tragic way possible. >> Currently headed back to exit 284. >> Light traffic speed still at 90. [music] Another cruiser was driving right in front of Duran. And when that officer swerved away to dodge a car, Duran wasn't able to react in time, resulting in a head-on collision. Duran's fellow officers continued [music] the search for the suspect. As they were approaching from other bypasses, they had no idea about the crash that had [music] just occurred. >> Wait, you do swipe swipe sight the truck. Uh the rim slot. He's slowing down.
