I don't even get to talk. >> Yo, you're a good I'm in trouble for this. >> We're not We're not talking about who's in trouble. We're trying to notify you that your son is dead. >> Possible she left the baby. >> I was half asleep. I told her right away. I rushed to the bathtub and that's [clears throat] when I found him. >> What you're saying kind of doesn't make sense. But I believe that you drank today. I just don't think you're being honest with me. >> Every child deserves a parent who shows up for them. But what happens when officers arrive at a home and realize the biggest danger to those children isn't coming from outside. It's the person who was supposed to be keeping them safe. >> Is he okay? >> Yeah, he's fine. >> You sure? >> Yes. [music] >> I said, "What are you doing, Bubba?" And he just kind of looked over at me. Was it Was it >> Are you using narcotics again? >> Yes. >> They said you were unconscious. That's why they had to come here. This is my last time of telling you to stand back by the car. I'm tired of doing that. >> These were the moments when cops confronted crackhead parents after a horrifying discovery. We begin with a case of a 8-month-old baby who was struck by a vehicle. When the cops [music] went through what happened, the baby's father's actions started to raise deeply troubling questions. >> And he set the baby on the ground and just ran over the baby. >> She got out, placed the baby on the sidewalk, drove off, but didn't know the baby probably got back in the road and ran over. 8 months. >> I ain't even letting me talk before anything like what, bro? >> I ain't got time for you trying to, you know, get the laws involved and saying like I'm kidnapping him or whatever. I was like, nah, bro, get your son, bro. On January 25th, 2025, the officers responded to a call that stopped everyone who heard it. An 8-month-old baby had been struck by a vehicle. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the mother in complete despair and startled witnesses. >> Oh my god. I ran over this baby. Jesus Christ. >> Where where did this happen? >> This just happened right in the middle OF THE ROAD. I can't call nobody. >> Were you walking or were you in a car? >> I was walking that way >> with your baby. >> No, he was supposed to be in the car. Okay, I'm >> She was right behind that. She said she was right behind me in the car. She might help. >> Oh my god. >> I'm like, "Oh, Jesus." She went that way. >> What' you see happen? >> I was behind them at the red light. She jumped out the truck. When she jumped out the truck, his car door opened. I'm thinking he going to jump out. But then next thing you know, I seen a baby down there. He ran over the baby and took off >> out in the street >> right here at the red light. >> So So she and the baby were in the vehicle that the baby. yet she and the baby in the vehicle, but she got out first and went across the street and he set the baby on the ground >> and just ran over the baby. >> What officers found at that scene was something even the most experienced among them weren't prepared for. >> That's the That's the baby's mother. >> What a baby >> right. >> Um the witness over here says that the mother and the baby were in the same black SUV. Mom hops out and next and then and then the baby hopped then baby was out and then the SUV drove over the baby. >> But I don't know what Brooklyn's got over at Stockton. The guy who got a contain Okay. She said it happened right here in the street. I'm looking for where it happened. Right here. Right here. >> Like the witness was behind >> the vehicle and the light turned left on McDuff. She said she noticed a female on the passenger side out of the vehicle. He placed the baby on the sidewalk. Didn't know that. I guess >> Wait, the lady placed the baby on the sidewalk? >> The guy >> got out. He got out, placed the baby on the sidewalk, drove off, but didn't know the baby probably got back in the road and ran over the 8 months. >> Did the guy that placed the baby on the sidewalk run over >> or somebody? That guy. >> He did. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. So maybe not intentionally. Why is he? He's He's >> Don't know yet. >> We don't know >> what the crap. >> I mean, he >> binkies over here on the ground. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. You see the binky in the road? >> Yeah. The pacifier. >> And there's here in the in the roadway. >> So yeah, >> it was here in this stretch. There's some here. >> Yeah, [sighs and gasps] there right there. There it is. >> Got some good distance. >> He He didn't look The baby didn't look The baby was unconscious when I saw. >> Speaking with the child's father, it became clear that something was off. He was visibly uneasy, unable to hide his restlessness. >> All right, Mr. Golden, step out for me. >> What's up, man? I don't even get to talk, bro. >> No, you don't get to talk. >> You don't get to talk. >> Like, what, bro? >> Just let her let her pet you down. You don't have nothing on you, right? >> Oh, I ain't even letting you talk before anything. Like, what, bro? >> No, you're going to get to talk. >> We don't want to ask you nothing yet. >> Watch this. I'm not going I'm not going to go nowhere. >> No, I know you're not. >> All right, man. I didn't get a chance to double lock it. So, I'm going to double lock these handcuffs. That'll keep the handcuffs from tightening up on you. >> I stopped. I didn't like trying to see why. Can you guys send me to the station or send me home? >> Not yet. >> So, I can't even go to the station yet? >> Not yet. >> Oh, >> we got somebody going to come here to talk to you. >> My arms are really like >> I know it. We got some people coming here to talk to you. Do you know how long it's going to be? I've been since I came. I'm not trying to rush. I don't I'm not rushing you guys. >> No, I get that. I just I just want to know. >> I don't know exactly how long it's going to be, but some detectives are coming. >> So, what? >> Some detectives. >> All right. >> All right. >> At the police station, the father opened up about what had happened before the accident. But as he described the events, it sounded as if he had no real grasp of what he had done to his own baby. My baby mom, she ended up letting me know like they need some more diapers and wipes and stuff like that. I had already knew that, but I wasn't going to, you know what I'm saying, go get them. I was going to order them. >> Mhm. >> She ended up talking me into like going to get them. So, we leave the house, we go get the diapers or whatever. After we get the diapers, she letting me know like she hungry, she want to go this place to get some food or whatever. I'm letting her know like I got to put gas in the car before I do anything. Like even if you guys go look at the car right now, like it literally barely got gas in it because I had just put that gas that's in it in it. We ended up, you know what I'm saying? Leaving from the Walmart, we still, you know what I'm saying, arguing or whatever, talking about it, discussing it, however you want to put it. She say, I'll just get out and leave. And I'm like, if you leave, make sure you take Pablo with you cuz I ain't got time for you trying to, you know, get the laws involved and sound like I'm kidnapping him or whatever, cuz that's what she always threats me with. >> So, we at the light, she like being real animated, like doing like the most. She slapped me in my eye. I just look at her. She grabbed my son from the car seat, unstraping, whatever, and she just holding him. She said, "I'll get all right now. I'll get out right now. I'll leave right now. So, I'm just like, honestly, I'm going tell the truth. I was like, "Leave then." Cuz I ain't think she do it. >> Yeah. >> I was like, "Get out and leave then. You ain't You ain't gonna do it like that." She gets out. So, I'm like, "Bro," I'm like, "Sheir, bro, where you going?" >> And she like, "No, I'm" She was like, "No, I'm going to show you and watch." She like, "When the police come and get you, you going to know just what happened." That's when I'm like, "Nah, bro." I was like, "Nah, bro. Get your son, bro." And I went to pull off. pulled off, went to the gate, got gas. I had noticed a car. I noticed a car was like it kept circling me and it was it it looked like she seemed to be on the phone. Like she kept circling me. So I'm just like I'm not >> I'm not thinking too much of it cuz in my eyes I don't feel like I did nothing wrong. You feel me? >> Yeah. >> So I put the gas in the car. I you know I pull out and when I pull out I see I see the officer. when I seen the officer, like she was making eye contact. So I, you know, I make my turn, then I see her like do a z a uturn and get right behind me. So I just I look and I'm like just pulled over and I parked the car and I looked out the window like see where she coming like for me and like I put my hands out the window and she was like, "Yeah, just just leave your hands where they I could see them this that and the third." I went, she said, "Go ahead and turn the car off for me." And I started and when she she put the cuffs on me, I started asking I was like, "Can I please explain like like can you you know what I'm saying? Tell me what I'm getting cuffed for like that." She was like, "I'm not getting arrested. I'm just being detained for right now. I'm still scaring me cuz like >> yeah, >> at least tell me like you know like what's going like what I'm getting detained for." That's what that's all I wanted. Like >> okay, >> God on the truth. >> When the truth finally came out, the father's reaction said everything. But the despair that hit him wasn't for his son. He was visibly terrified about what was coming next for himself. >> The light was already green. Like the light had literally just it had just flicked. >> Um, did you feel like you hit anything when you were leaving the scene? >> God on the truth. No. >> If I did, I would have stopped. >> Did you feel a bump or did you hear any kind of screaming? Anything like that? >> No. >> And then you just went to go get gas and I Were you Were you planning on coming back from Miss Whitby? >> Yes. That's why I literally got the gas, pulled out, and was coming right up that exact road. >> Okay. Okay. So, what do you think happened to Mr. Pablo? >> Were you told anything about what happened to him? >> No. >> Like, do you know why we're here? >> I I swear to God, I don't. That's the whole time if you I'm not trying to be funny or nothing like that. If you guys were to go back and look at those body cams, that's exactly what I'm asking them. I'm like, can I talk to somebody? Are y'all gonna send someone to talk to me? Like I'm just sitting in the car. My arms hurt. Could y'all just take me to the station so I could talk to them? >> They were telling me, "No, we got to wait for them to come here to the scene." Then eventually they told me, "All right, we're going to go to the station so you can do this." And it just had me confused and scared. >> Unfortunately, you struck him with the car. >> Okay. Is Pablo your child? >> Yes. >> Is that both of y'all's child? Mr. Miss Whitney as well? >> Got my last name. >> Okay. Um, Mr. Pablo was transported to the hospital. Um, unfortunately, he did not survive. >> Okay. Bro, please don't tell me y'all what y'all going to tell me. Like, I I'm in trouble for that. >> We don't know. That's why That's why I want to talk with you, >> bro. Please. >> Okay. All right, bro. No, bro. I know y'all could just go ahead and just tell me, bro. >> Well, I want to We have a lot of stuff that we need to talk about and uh Bro, >> I know. >> I'm sorry we had to tell you this. >> Bro, I'm in trouble for this. >> Well, >> we're not we're not talking about who's in trouble. We're trying to notify you that your son is >> and we're just trying to get all the details. That's where we're at right now. >> Operation number one is can we get details? Can we get a picture of what happened? I'm going to hurt myself. I'm letting you guys know how. Okay, >> so >> we we just we're just trying to figure out what happened. That's step one. Okay, >> you guys, bro. >> Okay, you're right. We appreciate it. >> I wanted to get your side of the story. >> Like, bro, I know you want to get my side, but it's like >> this time I call my mom. Please. >> According to the father, he had no intention of hurting Pablo. But for the officers, leaving an eight-month-old baby alone on a sidewalk was something they simply couldn't wrap their heads around. >> I wasn't I wasn't trying to hurt anyone. I I didn't even tell her to get out or force her to get out. You know what I'm saying? It wasn't like it it was no situation where, >> you know, I was trying to force a person to get away from me or I was trying to get a kid out of my, you know what I'm saying, out of my reach because I'm annoyed of them or because I don't want them around or because I just simply don't like them and have hate for them. It wasn't that. What do you think was going to happen next? Cuz I mean we're we're talking about >> I was trying to pull off. I'm trying to leave. >> But what do you think? Like she was going to end up grabbing him and taking this. Like what? >> Because that's what she does. >> Are you from anytime that area? >> Am I from No, >> I'm not from over there. >> Where do you stay? >> I stay in Holly Brook. >> Okay. >> But I didn't grow up over there. I'm not from there. I don't too much know anything about that area. >> You took an 8-month-old. >> You took an 8-month old. Okay. That's how old he is, right? Mhm. >> Okay. Uh >> what what was your thought of what was going to happen next? >> If I explain, would it make a difference? Like I don't like I really want to want you guys to really understand me. I don't that's what I'm trying to do. >> I want to do it in vain. That's what I'm That's all I'm saying. Like I just really want what I'm saying to actually have a purpose and a meaning. I don't want to just say this and then it just, >> you know, it don't really have an effect on my outcome. >> Well, I'm right now what you say >> and I mean this is all recorded. M. >> So what you're saying, I mean, I'm listening. >> I'm listening. >> I was hoping for her to come over there and grab the baby. I did. I actually I I even I even move turned the wheel. That's why I'm asking like, are there any cameras at the >> That's something we're working on. >> I You will see. I even tried to turn the wheel like I promised to God it wasn't it wasn't no and in my head it was a possibility I could hit him that's not what I was thinking I promised to God I didn't think the car was nowhere near him it's my son like I'm not saying that it's my son for you guys to have any like lenus I just want you guys to really like visualize what could have actually happened >> father wasn't letting up even saying there was no prior violence record but for the officers each new attempt to justify himself only made things worse. >> It's not even necessarily just about intent. It's also about we have a duty to act reasonably and we are trying to discuss with you and decide is it truly would a reasonable person think it's >> I mean we have to think about cars could be coming from the other direction and you >> close to your vehicle. So you would had to really negotiate to make sure you didn't them. So that we just have to see if this is even reasonable. Like what do you think? >> Huh? Have you ever done this before? Put them on. >> No. I'm like I [clears throat] don't like I don't have no history of doing nothing like this. Like come on, man. Like I It's proven. I don't have no history of doing nothing like this. No aggressive history. No none of that. I don't have none of that. I I'm really confused. I'm I was in the back of the car as begging to every time the officer came I'm begging like I'm I'm begging can someone just talk to me? Can someone explain something to me? You you were asking you were you were saying like do I you you were saying y'all asking me this so y'all could like see if like it was really reasonable for someone to for >> we have to work through. Yeah. >> Right. Honestly, I understand that. I do. And what I'm and my answer for that is do I feel like it's reasonable? No, I don't. >> In the end, the father was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, failing to render aid plus aggravated manslaughter. Later, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison with credit [music] for 328 days served. Moving on to a case where the police were called to an apartment after a 7-month-old baby was found unconscious and struggling to breathe. The investigation that followed would reveal a mother whose choices that day were impossible to ignore. Sounds like they were taking a nap. Baby was napping and just wasn't. >> Yeah, I know. So is >> okay. That's what I understood from what she was telling me. >> It's possible she left the baby. >> On March 3rd, 2025 in Albuquerque, the police received a call that a 7-month-old baby was in life-threatening danger. Upon arriving at the scene, the police were met by a family in a complete state of fright. >> So, the baby's probably not going to make it, and the family's pretty hysterical. Um, we do have some Spanish and English speaking. Um, the lady in the yellow, I think, is grandma. She's going to lose it. Um, I mean, they probably are, whatever. Um, it doesn't seem like anything that they'll play, but um, baby's been a little sick with some respiratory stuff. Sounds like they were taking a nap. Baby was napping and just wasn't. with us. >> Yeah, I'm not your family inside. >> No, I had to kick them >> for 3:30. >> We're not. >> He had baky pneumonia at the beginning of the year. >> Okay. >> Today he woke up. He's been stuffy all weekend. He's been stuffy for the last couple weekends. >> And he's been up all night just with the stuffy throwing up. >> [laughter] >> They're still working on it. What is baby's name? >> Adriel. >> Adrian. >> Adriel. >> Adriel. Okay. And his last name? >> Especially just come down here. We're going to be with you at the bottom of the stairs. >> 5 seconds. While emergency teams were still in the next room fighting to save the baby's life, the family was trying to hold their grip on the situation. >> Yeah, they're still >> Yeah. Once that happens, what happened? um once they they work on them. Um hopefully they get a pulse. Um if not, we're going to [clears throat] sadly tell you, but they're trying their best. Okay, they're still working on something just like And then I started him in daycare cuz he started working. He's been just coughing. >> What was your name? >> Just coughing. So I called him to work today cuz he's been just so bad. I'm just so excited. [laughter] >> [laughter] >> I just know what I mean. [laughter] Oh my god. Oh my god. I don't know what the [laughter] >> What followed next was devastating as officers had terrible news about Adriel's condition. At that moment, the family collapsed. I need everybody to listen to me, please. >> So, my buddy just told me that inside the firemen have stopped doing CPR. [snorts] They talked to the doctor on the phone and because there are no signs of life for 20 minutes, uh, Adriel has passed away today. [screaming] Huh? [screaming] >> [screaming] [screaming] [crying] >> very politic. No. >> [laughter] [screaming] [laughter] [screaming] >> You're necess They can marry. They can Inside the apartment, officers found evidence that told a very different story from what they had initially been told. When they questioned Edith about it, she struggled to get the words out. >> Tell me is what? >> Okay, that's what I understood from what she was telling me. >> It's possible she left the baby in Jesus Christ. Yeah, that's what I got. >> Um, I was just kind of cleaning up, doing some laundry, and he was just there watching cartoons, but he does have a diaper rash, which we've been trying to control for daycare. So, that's why I started the bath. That way, he could breathe as well cuz he was up and >> [snorts] >> I started to [laughter] pass. I closed the door that we could get steamy for him. I got him undressed. He was wearing [snorts] some blue pants. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt. He was [snorts] and I undressed him and I put his toys in the top. I put him in there. Since I was still doing laundry, I went to the room and I was still waiting for the dryer to be done. [snorts] He was just playing with his toys. I But I don't know how I just fell asleep. >> With every detail Edith added, something felt increasingly off. The story she was telling didn't match what officers had been told when the call first came in. But what stood out most was the contradiction about Adriel's health. >> So whenever I got up, well, my mom was knocking the door. I didn't hear my phone. She had called me, but I didn't hear my phone. I think my phone was like on low. [snorts and laughter] So when I opened the door, I was just kind of half asleep. I opened the door. It was my mom. So then she asked me about Adrienne and I went back inside the room and [clears throat] I was still half asleep. I So then right away I rushed to the bathtub and that's when I found him. >> It was stated that uh Aiden or I'm sorry Adriel had pneumonia. So you put him down for a nap and both of you fell asleep. That's something that came through somewhere. Does that is that something >> today? >> Yeah. [music] Is that something that you told somebody or >> not pneumonia? I had like as a kid and like knew that um baby was coughing really bad. >> Okay. >> So, he knew like my job. I even told him that he was coughing pretty bad. I was making him gag. So, that's why I was going to take the day off and I couldn't go in. >> As officers kept pressing, Edith's account began to unravel further. What the officers heard next was a mother finally admitting what had actually happened to her baby that day. >> So, one thing I did notice um when we were going through there, there was a pretty a pretty there was a lot of empty alcohol containers. >> So, you're the only adult that lives there, right? So, is it safe to say that you're the one that's consuming that? >> Um, I was consuming that. I did have a couple friends over. >> Um, and then honestly I would leave the house and go to my boyfriend's house or like you know not drinking but like it was here and there. I haven't I've been home here and there but it's been inconsistent honestly and I haven't had friends over. I did have a >> Okay. >> while I was doing laundry. >> Okay. >> Um, and was this when was this like [snorts] was this while Audreel was in the bath? Was this when he was >> No, he was sleeping. Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, you put him down for his nap about 10:00 and he woke up at 12:00. And from 10 to 12 is when you took that >> Okay. >> Yeah. He woke up like about 1:00. honesty. I know he slept for a couple hours and yeah, that's when >> Okay. Okay. The thing is is it doesn't what you're saying kind of doesn't make sense, but I believe that you drank today. I just don't think you're being honest with me. And I think >> you need to be honest with me and honestly honest with yourself. >> No, 100%. I took a today. I did because I drank yesterday. >> So, it was just kind of to take the hangover away or like >> I don't know, [clears throat] just do something. So you So you're going to maintain that we took one shot today? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I'm going to go back to life experience. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> Do you think you have a drinking problem >> at this point? Yeah. >> Okay. And why do you believe that is? >> Because obviously he was going to be drinking like yesterday. I drank. I'm going to take a like to do laundry, you know. >> So you think that's indicates you have a problem? >> I feel like Yeah. In the end, Edith was arrested, but she was released from jail 2 months later under strict conditions. For now, she is waiting for the trial. Next, two young children were rushed to the hospital in a critical state, and it didn't take long for officers to realize that what had put them there was happening right inside their own home. >> You know how bad is obviously moral values your apartment. This is the time for you to tell me either what you think happened or what you know happened. >> I said, "What are you doing, Bubba?" And he just kind of looked over at me. Is he energetic? >> NO. NO. NO. [screaming] NO. OH MY GOD. NO. >> On January 16th, 2022, officers in Circleville were called to a hospital after two young children were admitted under suspicious circumstances. What they found when they arrived was a mother in a complete state of despair. >> Is he okay? >> Yeah, he's fine. >> You sure? >> Yes. >> You fine? You okay? >> He did another manipulation. >> I feel so dizzy. >> Dr. >> No. Can you sit in Ohio State? Please, please somewhere. Oh, no. No. No. No. No. Please do something. Please, please do something. We're we're >> Oh my god. No. No. No. No. >> When the medical team came with news, nothing was certain yet. The older child was responding to treatment. But for the baby, on the other hand, the outcome was devastating. >> They've been working on here. Will you please just come on? Please. Please. Please. Just get here. Please just get here. Please. No. No, no, NO. GOD, tell me. Please [screaming] tell me. NO. PLEASE TELL ME. NO. PLEASE. Oh my god. NO. OH MY GOD. NO. NO. NO. [screaming] NO. NO. NO, HE GOT IT. OH MY GOD. NO. [screaming] NO. OH NO. NO. >> SO, is there any information I can update my captain or detective with? Is there something wrong with them as well? That's what they're checking to make sure there's nothing. >> Okay. All right. Sounds good. >> So when you say he's acting differently, you mean he like sleepy? You think he's acting short? >> He talks a lot. >> When does he take a nap? Did he take a nap today? >> Real messed up hours over there. >> Okay. >> You never know. >> I know. I don't know what to say. I don't know what to say. I'm >> so sorry. >> Meanwhile, the fight for the older child's life was far from over. The medical team was giving everything they had and he was holding on, but the situation remained extremely fragile. >> Where'd you get these big muscles from? >> Huh? >> You're Batman. >> What about Spider-Man? You like Spider-Man? There you go. >> That's right. Second one. [clears throat] >> Just rest there. Just rest there a minute. He's right here. He's right here. Okay. >> Here, honey. >> Here. Try to relax. >> It's okay. He's right here, honey. You got to let him do this. Honey, >> you got to let him do this. Okay. >> You are a big strong guy. >> Yes, you're very strong. And you're very strong. Look at Mimi. Look at Mimi. >> Look at Mimi. >> Okay, baby. >> Look at Mimi. You can do this. You're tough. Remember like Hulk. You're tough like Hulk. [crying] >> You tough like Hulk. >> You're okay. >> With the situation growing increasingly suspicious, officers decided it was time to bring the mother of the children in for questioning. So, since we're in here talking, um, you are free to leave, but I'm just going to go ahead and get everything out of the way. That way, there's no questions asked about reading your rights. All right. Can you go ahead and tell me your name and your date of birth? >> Brianna Rash. >> We've just got some more questions about some statements. What you told us and what Nick told us kind of conflicted each other. Um, he told us completely different story than what you told us. We did a search warrant at your house. We found some very concerning stuff. Um, and I want you to I want to give you the opportunity to kind of tell me the truth because I don't think you fully did. Yes. Last night. All right. So, this is your time to get everything out on the table and just tell us what happened. This is bad. This is really bad. All right. You guys are looking at some serious issues until we can figure out what is going on. You know what I mean? Cuz we found your apartment. We found the floor in the bathroom. You know how bad is obviously multiple values in your apartment. This is the time for you to tell me either what you think happened or what you know happened. >> Early in the morning, changed them like I always do. Probably sat down, watch cartoons, picked up some stuff because the house was a mess from the day the night before. Just stuff I normally do, just go through picking stuff up, moving stuff, trying to straighten stuff up. And then I went back in and I laid down. And >> what time was all this? When you took a nap? >> 2 probably 2:30 at the latest, I want to say. >> Okay. >> Went and laid down like they always do. No one to lay with me. So that was fine. and the other tablets or binkies, her juice cups, and I I fell asleep between that and um waking up at like 3:30ish. I don't know if how long they been up with Nick. He said he'd made him cereal um strawberry milk and you know, changed their diaper and then left the diaper abandoned because he's using the body. I don't know what happened in that period of time. Like I said, asleep. Um, but then whenever I got up, we walked to the bathroom to pee and I come back out. He just he didn't look like a soap. >> Where was he at when you saw him? >> He was by the corner of the couch and like the TV in the kitchen right here. I said, "What are you doing, Bubba?" And he just kind of looked over at me. Wasn't Wasn't energetic. Wasn't nothing. Speaking with officers, Briana acknowledged that she believed the boys may have been affected by something. But when the conversation turned to the illegal substances found in the apartment, her story started falling apart. The amount they found scattered around the place was too significant. So they began to connect the dots. >> He was still alert, but it didn't look like him. So I said, "Nick." And he he was awake. And he said, "What?" And I said, "Turn look at him." And I said I said, "Is there anything? Is there anything in here? Anything anywhere? He was like, "No, no, everything's put up." And I was like, "Are you sure?" I was like, "Because he doesn't look like himself." The bottom cabinet was open where I got a trash bag out from the trash can. Um, so I don't I don't know where it come from. I don't, like I said, I keep the knobs on the doors, keep the doors shut. I keep those cabinets locked. >> All right. So, let's stop there. Okay. This is not a He got into some chemicals. No, I know. I know what you're saying. >> Where where is the narcotics kept in the house? >> It's not normally kept in the house. >> Okay. But it was yesterday. >> If if I had to say that he that it was put up somewhere, I would say the bathroom, but it but normally it's it's never put up in the house ever. Ever. >> Once again, yesterday it was. Okay. And I'm talking about multiple items. Okay. I'm not talking just about one bag that had on it. I'm talking about multiple bags that had residue. I'm talking about a soap dish that had residue in it. And I'm talking about a little bag about this big that had white powder in it. >> Man, it's all >> No, it wasn't. >> Did you get it out of a pink black and >> No, I found it on the floor in your kitchen. >> And then there was >> And then it was a little rubber dish, you know, like >> Yeah. But it wasn't. >> It was a >> It was a rock. >> A >> No, it come out of my >> You're not listening to me, kid. Rock. >> Okay. >> So, this Rihanna, I'm trying to tell you, man. I'm being honest with you. >> I know. I know what I'm trying to tell you. That's what was in your rubber D container. >> Our machine tested it. That's what was in there. >> The yellow gold. >> Yes. >> The little rubber thing that usually when I swabbed it, that's what it came back as. >> There was a rock in there, B. >> There was a little rock in there about that big. Okay. >> Yeah. And it was like kind of gooey and it's been put up in that door box forever. No gooness in it. Okay. >> A little hard rock in it. We swab the rock. We put it in our machine and it come back as that. >> I get sent off. >> Yeah, it will. >> Okay. >> Yeah, it will. This is just >> I don't understand why you think we're lying to you. >> No, I don't think they're lying. I don't think they're >> Okay. So, what about the other bags that we're trying on the residue >> or the white powder? I mean, I you guys found it. When I went walk when I would come out of my bedroom and walk to the bathroom, I didn't see any white bags or baggies laying anywhere or anything like that. >> Okay. Are you using narcotics again? >> Yes. >> Okay. What kind? Are you the only one using the house? Who else is using the house? >> Are you guys also selling in the house? Oh, I'm not >> okay. Is he? >> As officers continued pressing for more information, their focus shifted to Nick. They had reason to believe he was involved with something more serious, but Brianna was holding back what she actually knew. >> So, are you guys selling of your house? >> I'm not. >> Nick is selling out of your house. The selling of the is the least of your worries right now. Okay, you understand that, correct? So, tell me about it. >> I don't want to talk about it. >> So, tell me why you were taking a nap. How long was I out of the room with Nick doing whatever? >> I don't know. I was asleep. >> How long do you think? >> Say 2:00. Say 2 in between 2:30 after I fell asleep. >> What time did you take him to the hospital? >> 4:32ish, something like that. >> Okay. So, between two when you went to sleep and four, >> they were in bed with me and then I fell asleep. >> Okay. And what was Nick doing at that time when you went to bed and went to sleep? What was Nick doing? >> Watching Netflix on the couch making a bowl of cereal for himself. >> Okay. So, what happened between the time that you know he was making a bowl of cereal for himself and 4:00 when you rush your child to the to the hospital? What happened between that time and that time? >> I don't know. >> So, you were asleep for about 2 hours. Is that what you're telling me? >> About >> Okay. Then you went to the bathroom. When you came out of the bathroom, he was acting weird. So, you're saying that he was over between the counter and the TV acting weird when you came out of the bathroom? >> So, the back cage right here was like he was kind of like walking from that way like to the bathroom toward me. >> Okay. And he was acting lethargic and kind of out >> kind of was kind of out of it. >> Okay. What was your first thought when you saw him acting like that? >> He got into something. >> Got into what? How would he have got into It's powder anywhere. It could be anywhere. >> Okay. Was there powder or something just anywhere that you know of? >> You said you asked Nick what did he get into. So you kind of already assumed that he got into something cuz you said you asked Nick that. >> Yeah. I cuz obviously this stuff's in the house. Is it left out? >> No. When it was Nick's turn to speak with the officers, something was immediately off as he was visibly spacing out while answering the questions. >> At first, he still lie in bed. So, I get some cereal, lay down on the couch and jumped up. He laid with me into my feet under the blank with me. Well, he the show I laid on the couch, fell asleep. Whenever I got back up, she was getting out of bed. So got me all freaking I was for an hour last night. Whenever I fell asleep, they got back. I mean, she woke up after I fell back asleep on the couch with them after getting in their cereal. So whenever I got back up, within 10 minutes, 15 minutes of me being back up, we walked. I woke back in the bedroom. She was just getting up out of bed. I mean, she said she got up earlier earlier in the morning. She got up early in the morning, made eggs, and that was I mean, I guess that was when I was sleeping. >> So, what time do you what time do you think that you actually woke up and made up the cereal and stuff? What time do you think that was? 1:30, something like that. >> Okay. >> They usually stay up till 3:30 in the morning, 4:00 in the morning, and they'll sleep until, >> right? 12:30, 1:00. >> So, that that makes more sense than what you said last night because we thought she obviously was up and made them breakfast first. You know what I mean? >> And then you got made them lunch, but it was cereal. >> So, we was thinking that it was more of our morning or >> our time and not your time. You know what I mean? >> I went to the house and got some stuff for him so she could take it home and he got something to eat and I guess he puked after he ate it and broke the hospital by the time he was. But dang, there's no way whatever he got. I mean, I'm guessing they got into something yesterday. [music] That's what I was saying yesterday when I was telling you guys like cuz he kept saying it got into bug spray. I don't understand how bug spray would have done that. >> Could have got in a baggie, [music] >> an old bag, >> something that was old. >> I mean, when we was doing that was the only place we would do it in the bathroom. >> Officers pushed Brianna further, but her answers were difficult to process. She tried to explain that she and Nick were responsibly using illegal substances because of the children, but the idea that there was anything responsible about that situation was nearly impossible to accept. >> You did that, I'm assuming. >> Yes. >> How did you use your smoke? >> Okay. Off of foil. >> Yes. >> Okay. What do you do with the foil when you after you're done smoking? >> Um ball up and another piece of foil, crumbled up, put it in toilet paper and stuff it down in the trash can. In the bottom of the trash can. >> And where's that trash can at? either in the bathroom or in the kitchen. >> Okay. You don't always throw it away at the same spot each time. >> No, >> just one or the other. Wherever the trash can as you >> or or when I empty because I'll empty the trash bags and I'll [music] put it in a bag that I'm putting on the porch to go to the dumpster. >> Okay. Um so while you were awake yesterday, did Nick use at all? >> Um I don't I don't think so. did he use with you before you went to bed at 3:30 the night before? >> Yeah, boys were asleep. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> Um, where did you guys use that? The bedroom or >> in the bathroom? Do you always use in the bathroom? That's the only place you use. >> Yes. >> So once you saw just different >> I just I grabbed a blanket. I said I said give me a diaper. I said grab grab me some clothes. And he said no just go. And I said okay. I said, "I'll call you when I get there." So, I'm walking out the door with him and he's still moving his head. >> Okay. So, you didn't find he didn't have any paper in his hand then, no foil in his hand. No. >> By this point, officers had more than enough evidence. And yet, when confronted directly with what had been found, both parents continued deflecting and refusing to acknowledge what was right in front of them. However, for the officers, it was clear what they had to do next. >> These are the things we found in your house. So that was in the kitchen between the bathroom and like the couch on the floor that tested positive. >> You ever seen that before? >> No. >> You never seen this? >> No. >> So this was in her jewelry box. She thought it was that actually tested positive for a which is some type of so it's not just >> what? So they either cut it with it, mixed it with it, or this container at one time. >> I mean, this machine we have test traced. I mean, it's >> Yeah, that's crazy. That's been sitting in her That's been sitting in a drawer box for >> this bag actually had trace inside of it. I swapped the inside of the bag and it had showed trace for >> What was that? >> This [clears throat] was on the kitchen floor, bathroom floor. >> Yep. >> That right there. I don't She said she said what? It's cut. >> Mhm. >> That's what she said. It is. It's cut. >> Vitamins. >> Man, it's all >> She thinks it's made of all. >> I've never seen that. >> That was on your kitchen floor. It's about a half a gram. >> Can I take it out? >> Well, you can't open it. >> No. No. I'm not asking that. Um, I may be wrong, but do you see how this bag has been cut and it's not really been just ripped off? >> Mhm. >> Let me know what the lap says, but I'm almost 98% positive. >> Well, so where we swapped was I pulled all that back and right at the knot is where I swapped. >> Right. And when >> right which it which it would [music] because when you put it in with >> you're touching the you're touching that bag. See >> what I'm saying? >> So >> what's [music] You say it's manitol. >> There's manitol. There's menite. >> What are those? >> They are um like a like a vitamin additive you get from like a health store. >> That's what you're cutting it with. >> Cut. Yeah. So that if it's too strong for us. Yes. In the end, a forensic test confirmed the home had residue on the kitchen floor and everyday containers. Nick and Brianna pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, attempted involuntary manslaughter, [music] trafficking, possession of illegal substances, and two counts of later. They were each sentenced to 19 to 24.5 years in prison under the Reagan Toes Act. Next, a driver was pulled over for a minor traffic violation. But what started as a simple warning quickly became a serious investigation, and at the center of it all was a young child in the back seat. I do care about what you're saying. I just have my baby. >> So, give me a second. >> Just please be nice cuz I have my baby here. >> Okay, no problem. >> I have my son. Please, guys. >> Look at you me and I got >> On August 26th, 2025 in Orlando, officers spotted a vehicle and pulled it over for a minor traffic violation. But the moment the officer walked up to the window, something about the driver's behavior made him slow down and take a much closer look. >> I was just taking my son for McDonald's real quick. >> All right. So, the reason you're driving with your bright lights on >> because I just came all the way from Miami. So you drive with bright lights on Miami? No, >> it was just dark. You know the light the roads are dark. >> Yeah. So you know that you actually have to turn those off with oncoming traffic the other way. If you don't, you can actually be stopped cuz it's doing uh more damage on people's eyes and then it struggles for me to see and or someone else. Okay. >> As the officer continued questioning the driver, the situation kept getting more complicated. She seemed in a rush and what she revealed next gave him reason to pause and take a closer look. >> That's my ID. >> An ID? Okay. Driver's license. Yep. >> No, I just left it. I'm telling you there my cousin lives right around the corner. >> That's fine. That's fine. Literally right around. >> Okay. >> Is the car registered to you? >> Um it's a rental. >> This is a rental car. >> Yeah, it's a rental car. >> Okay. All right. Um do you have any information? >> Yeah. >> This is all I have for it right now. >> Okay. >> Well, that works for now. That'll get us started. >> Oh, my son is late. I just I'm not trying to do nothing like you know. I just got McDonald's. Baby, >> you in a hurry? >> I just want to go. I'm just drove a couple of hours. Like I'm I literally just came back out to get a food. I'm tired. >> Okay. All right. >> I'm not in a hurry. I'm sorry. >> Where you heading to? >> Courtia. >> Media court Apartments. Okay. That's not too far from here, >> but we're not going anywhere fast cuz there's a train blocking you anyway. So, it's going to be a second. Is this a Toro rental? Cuz this is not a rental company. No, this is from a friend that I from Miami. My friend from Miami. >> Rather than cooperating, the driver continued to hurry the officer, even using her child who was inside the car as a reason. But the way she was acting only made the officer more suspicious that something about this situation wasn't right. >> All right. What's um Do you have a Florida driver's license? >> Have you ever had one? >> You You do? Okay. Okay. What? >> Okay, got you. What's your social? >> But other than that, why can't I Why am I being stopped for that? Like I I'm literally going around the corner. I just want to go home. I'm not trying to like I'm just asking. I'm not being stopped for the lights. >> Why are you being stopped for lights? Okay. I'm really really trying to make this a quick process. No, no, no, no. You No, no, no. I'm Because you you keep talking. Okay. No, no, no. I understand. I understand. But I'm trying to make this a fast process and you want to ask me questions and dispute the law on the street here. Okay. No, you really are. This is the third time you're you're saying this. I just want to go. I just want to go. Okay. If you want me to just go write you a ticket and slow it down even more if that's I'm just trying to get you done and out of here. >> I don't even want to. >> Okay. So, let me do the process. I'm going to run your information and I'm planning on just coming back and giving you a verbal warning. Hey, make sure you turn your your bright lights off when you're driving around the city of Orlando because it blinds people. But but hear me out, okay? I'm in control. I'm doing my job. Okay? trust the process and then when we're done, I'm just going to let you go. >> But if you want to just keep saying like, "Hey, I just want to leave." You make me say, "You know what? Sounds like somebody that doesn't really care about what I'm saying." I'll go write him a ticket. >> I do care about what you're saying. I just have my baby. >> So, give me a second. >> Can you just please be nice cuz I have my baby. I said, "Look, we watching this. >> I understand. >> I have my baby. >> I get it." What came next changed everything. When a second officer approached the vehicle, he noticed something inside that the stop had not yet accounted for. The woman moved fast to cover it, but not fast enough. >> I don't understand. Why am I being pulled up on like this? >> Was that >> where? >> Underneath your foot. >> I don't know that that's it. That might be enough. I don't know. This is a rental. I have my son in the car. Can you just give me a second? My cousin come and pick up my son. >> I saw her. It's It's right at her foot. >> Okay. >> Don't touch it. >> I'm sorry. I didn't Look, this is a rental. I swear this is a rental. >> Put your phone down. >> Okay. >> Put your phone over there. Put your hands on the wheel. >> But I have my phone. >> Put your phone. >> I have my my my son My cousin Tina. Tina, hurry up and come. Please hurry up and come. My baby's coming. My baby's here. >> Do me a favor. Just keep it there. Okay. >> Can I call my family? >> No. >> Don't. >> Tyena, >> here. Open the door. Open the door. >> Ty, come and get me. Please come and get me. >> Okay, no problem. I have my son. Please, guys, is she going to be able to pick up my son? Don't worry about it. Can >> she pick up my son? Can y'all please Can y'all Can you please make sure my baby's okay? >> Can you please make sure my baby's okay? Can you guys please make sure my baby's okay? >> You're just being detained. >> Okay. I have my son there. No, I don't want to get in the car. I don't want to get in the car. >> Relax. >> My son there. I don't want to get in the car. My son face. >> Is Is that Is going to jail for that? >> Chill. You're just being detained. You're making it worse. >> I'm not trying to make it worse. I'm asking I want to jail for that nugget. I'm not I'm not That's not mine. I did it. That's a rental. How is it a rental? But you know that they could be there could have been a nugget when I asked you. >> When you see when I look down, what is that? What does it look like? >> The more the situation escalated, the more desperate the driver became. She kept insisting she had done nothing wrong. But the evidence building around her painted a very different picture. >> I can't believe you guys are doing this. >> Come over here. >> Can I'm not I'm not trying to do nothing. I'm not trying to do nothing. I got Look at you hurting me and I got Look, I got shot recently and you hurting me. My hand is up. Okay, stop resisting cuz you keep tensing up. Okay, I'm going to charge you with resisting if you keep tensing up on me. >> Sir, walk this way. >> I got walk right here, >> sir. I got You're hurting my arm that I got in there. Look at my clavicle. >> Chill. >> I got recently. Look at my clavicle. Look, I'm not Look, I'm not lying to you. This hurts. Can you please let this loose a little bit? And I got my meds in there. >> I need my meds. I got I can't because you guys are about to arrest me. I got my neuro. How would we arrest you for it? >> Cuz they're obviously you guys are going to arrest me for that stupid nugget. >> Said who? >> Look what you guys got me into. >> Okay, you're being detained. I just told you you're not under arrest. >> I'm clearly under arrest. >> You're not under arrest. You're being detained. Okay, just cuz you're in handcuffs, that does not mean you're under arrest. Okay, I am telling you, okay, this is recording. I am telling you that you're being detained. >> Why is that doing this in front of my phone? >> You got You got in the car. Okay, >> so that's why I'm going to jail. >> No, that's why you're being detained. Okay, that's why we are searching the vehicle. >> No matter how much the driver tried to explain herself, it wasn't working. Officers had heard enough and her attitude was doing far more damage than anything else at that scene. >> I got here and in my chest on my titty right here in my titty pop recently, a couple months ago from a girl that was my best friend. I'm not scared of nothing else. The only thing other than it is my meds from me getting shot. I got dabin and tramodol in me. That's it. That's all. I don't take the whole thing of the gabin with me because it's a big bottle. But I literally said take look it up. Gabby [ __ ] >> Not is a not a control substance. Nothing like that. Nothing crazy. So what is he going to do? Test the meds? >> No. Chill. >> I'm just like I don't know what's going to happen because I knew my >> paranoid. Why are you so paranoid? You're making us >> I understand. You're making everything worse. >> I'm sorry. My son is here. You got to understand. >> I understand. You have not done anything wrong. and just chill out. >> I don't know who I don't know who you think you are. I have never I have not dealt with somebody that is that is like acting this way in a lot of years. Ma'am, you are very entitled. You think you're in control. This is a traffic stop. You keep telling me how to do things and hey, don't touch this. Don't do this. Hey, let me go. Let me go. You need to let me go. Ma'am, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am, slow down. Okay, I'm I'm serious. Okay. >> No, no, no, no, no. But the thing is, you keep telling us what and how this is going to go and you're dictating everything. Okay? And I understand. Listen, I'm just telling you this is the process. Let it go. Let the process be. Okay? That's the process. There's things you can't control here. >> Among the items officers found inside the vehicle were medications that legally required a prescription. Beverina was adamant that she was allowed to have them, yet she couldn't prove it. However, the situation turned upside down with what the officers found next. >> What medications are you taking for >> I'm taking right now cuz of my breast. I have the oxyon because of my >> I have muscle relaxer because of my I have um >> what's what's the names I need names I see there's there's oxy >> yeah so it's there that has my name on it those oxies have my name on it as you see the tramodol and the gabapentin >> tramodol is from my arm that's a nerve that's from my nerves and the gabapentin is also from my arm that's for my nerves >> okay >> when I got I got my clavicle and my in my I just I had Bring my phone over. >> The tramodol. >> Tramodol. >> Okay. There's nothing. There's Is there anything with a name under the tramodol? >> I could grab if you grab my phone, I have pictures on my phone with the prescription by my phone >> for tramodol. >> For tramodosa. Yes. >> Okay. Where's your phone? Is it over there? >> It's on dashboard. >> Why is there a prescription bottle? >> A tramodol? >> Yes. >> Because that's how I get it from the pharmacist. I swear to God, that's how he gives it to Well, the reason I'm asking is because that bottle is only forarmacies. >> That That's where I got it from. My my pharmacy. You >> said you're prescribed oxy and what else? >> I was prescribed I'm not prescribed oxies. I got oxies from my teeth. >> You got oxies from for when you got >> Okay. Is that the white ones? >> The No, those are the yellow. Those are yellow. >> What are the white ones? >> The white ones? Those are those are those are gaba pencilins. >> Okay. And what are those for? >> Those are That's also for my arm. That's gab pencil. Why are you breaking them up? >> Because they're 600 and I'm small. Can I at least call the far like the pharmacist? >> No. No. I need to see the >> Can I ask him to send it to me, please? >> But I thought you said you have >> I know, but I'm But I'm instead of I'm telling you. Can I ask him to send it to me? >> You said you have >> I do have the I do have a photo, but can I ask him to send it to you? >> Show me the photo >> so you don't think I'm lying. >> I just need you to show me. >> I understand. I'm looking for the prescription. >> Those are supposed to be in a prescribed bottle. >> I understand. >> It's a prescribed. It's a controlled substance. I'm getting them prescribed to me. I'm not so you could see. I don't want to go to jail behind this. >> I understand that, but >> I'm just trying to show you. I I gave you the option to give me I try to look I try to look and I showed you where I got >> I believe you that I'm not saying you don't. >> What's happening? >> Besides that, is there a reason why there's canvas inside your kid's backpack? >> I didn't know that there was canvas inside there. I swear I swear to everything I love. I did not know there was in there. >> So, who how would that get there? >> I did not know there was cannabis inside there. I'm asking you a question. I did not know that there was cannabis inside. >> Please, please. >> In the end, Beverina was charged with operating a vehicle without a license, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Next case, a welfare check on a parked van revealed a scene the officers weren't expecting. What they found inside that vehicle was a couple putting their children in an alarming condition. >> What's going on? >> All right. What's in your lap right there? >> They were unconscious in their car. There's in the car. Her pupils are really constricted and she's cold. So, I don't know if they've been doing something else or what. >> Kids are balling in the back seat. The inside of that van is 1,000°. They're both sweaty and you guys are passed out. >> On June 6th, 2022 in Monroe, Ohio, officers responded to a report of a parked vehicle with what appeared to be unconscious people inside. When they reached the car, the scene was immediately alarming. >> There are two occupants in here, both slumped over. Open the door. >> What's going on? >> All right. What's in your lap right there? >> Here. Put that on the dashboard. >> Take that baggie of that's in your lap and put it on the dashboard. Right there in your lap. Put it on the dashboard. That's not the dashboard. Whatever. Get out. >> Something was clearly wrong with the couple. Officers had their suspicions from the moment they approached the vehicle, and it didn't take long for those suspicions to be confirmed. >> All right. What else do you have on you? >> Hey, baby. >> 55. Yeah. Go ahead and start a squad. They're both speaking now. >> Do what? >> I got her bottle, sir. >> Yeah, I would recommend doing that. >> I was just asking. Anyway, >> here. Put your hands up here. >> Do you have any needles on you that's going to poke me? Stick me. >> Hey, >> she's Hey, she's she's getting the bottle for >> this up here. Put your hands behind your back for right now. You're being detained. All right. Is this your wallet? >> Going back here by the cruise. >> I want to give her a bottle. He won't let me get >> You can You can wait a minute. Step back there. >> He had a bag of on his lap when we woke up. >> It was >> He tossed it in between the seats. So, we're going to do some digging to get it out. >> It's still sitting there >> on the side. It's still sitting there at >> right there on the driver's side. On the driver's side, it's still sitting on the plastic. >> There was no longer any doubt in the officer's minds. Both adults were under the influence of an illegal substance and their behavior made that impossible to ignore. But what made the situation truly difficult to process was the babies caught in the middle of all of it. >> I just don't understand why you would back into somebody's driveway. >> We just pulled up here. >> Pulled up there. This is a house. So, you either had to drive down there and turn around or you pulled up here. >> They said you were unconscious. That's why they had to come here. They just have to check you. I mean, I'm just telling you. I'm looking at your pupils and stuff like that. So, that the reason why that's why you're cold, huh? >> Giving to me. >> Well, but but your eyes are constricted. So, that's what happens. So, apparently they were unconscious in their car. There's in the car. Her pupils are really constricted and she's cold. So, I don't know if they've been doing something else or what. So they're going to check them. >> I take Huh? >> I take all I take. >> Okay. You didn't smoke? >> No. >> Is it just water? >> It's a Sprite and a fruit punch together. >> How old are these kids? >> It's uh they're 18 months old. >> Okay. Are they not >> caffeine? >> Huh? >> Okay. I was just making sure. >> Yeah. >> So, you both have a medical car. Okay. Just step back there. I don't like you being this close to me while I'm watching him. going back there by your husband or boyfriend. I can see the kids. They're fine. You're just making me nervous. Step back there. >> Well, I don't like people like right up on my up on my space. >> Despite not being openly confrontational, the couple's behavior was creating problems at every turn. The moment any officer moved toward their babies, the couple would get in the way, blocking the very people who were trying to make sure their children were safe. >> Sit back here, both of you. Back here, all the way down here. Here's what's going to happen. If you keep not listening to me, I want you to go back by the cruiser back here. You too. I'm going to put you both in handcuffs. So, you're in handcuffs. You're going to go in handcuffs. Go back to this car. He's going to search the car. You normally do the medical. >> You smoke it. You can't smoke it. >> No, you're not allowed to smoke it on medical. You have to do a vaporizer. So, other than the little bit of in the pipe, there's nothing else in there. >> Stupid mistake. >> How long you been smoking? >> I didn't even know people still did it. It was given. It was given to me. >> You're both getting charged with children. First of all, I'm going to send off your croc and when it comes back, I'm going to hit you with possession of that. You're getting charged with possession of the pipe cuz it was right next to you. Do you understand? Kids are balling in the back seat. The inside of that van is 1,000°. They're both sweaty and you guys are passed out. >> Stand that. to be. >> This is my last time of telling you to stand back by the car. I'm tired of doing that. The kids are all right. All right, >> I'll find your phone. That's what I'm looking for. You guys Hi, baby. Hi. Hi. Hi. Somebody's tired. Somebody's tired. As the situation with the couple continued to unfold, one of the children's grandfathers arrived to take custody of them. But the officer wasn't so sure as something about the man felt familiar. So, we got a call that they were um Well, that's good if there's two of you. Are you both have driver's license? >> She She ain't That's my name. That's my name. >> Yeah, we got a question. >> Hey, Caleb, we got a call about that because I'm running him. What was that call we had earlier? There was a call cuz I ran your plate earlier about something. >> Okay. >> Yeah, I think so. Or in this van here. >> Oh, >> 71. >> Go ahead. >> The plate that we gave you, did we have a call or something on that earlier? I I just remember running that plate or saying that. So, um, >> check. >> They were passed out here. Of course, they're under the influence. There's in a car in a pipe. The car was freaking hot as can be in those little babies there in there. The um It hasn't been There hasn't um been changed in a while, the BA diapers. So, he's changing the diapers right now. They're probably going to be going to jail. That's why we wanted you to take charge of the kids. But I ran this plate because when he showed up, I thought, why do I recognize his face? >> Looks familiar. >> But I don't remember why I ran the plate earlier tonight and I don't know the reason why. You apparently have a child informer charge. How long ago was that? >> Years ago, >> how long do you know how long ago? >> Were you like drunk and had a kid in a car? >> Seizure and hit a boat. >> Oh, okay. And there was a kid in a car. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> That's what it was. >> All right. >> I got that. Do you have any like prior child convictions or anything? No. >> No warrants or anything? No. >> Do you All right. >> Yeah. The seizure in the court. >> Yeah. But then that you must have had in your system or something. >> No. That's the only thing I don't. >> Well, why would they have charged you though? They normally don't charge it. >> Maybe. >> Yeah. But if you have a seizure medical, they wouldn't charge you. >> That's right. >> Unless Did you get charged with OVI or anything? DUI? >> No. >> Only thing that we could have thought of was because he was in a um truck. >> Yeah. >> And >> Oh, no. child seat. >> Well, no, he was in a booster seat. >> Oh, interesting. >> They said that he was too small for the booster. >> Okay. So, that's probably the reason why. >> She needs to get rid of that piece of [ __ ] >> Well, I know. >> I hate them. >> Well, she was she they were both I mean, her pupils are constricted. So, I'm hoping she wasn't doing more than the because her pupils are real tiny and usually doesn't make their pupils really constricted. So, I'm hoping she didn't do >> she got to get a bond set before I could even think about. In the end, the parents were taken into custody and later charged with misdemeuring. The father was also charged with felony possession of illegal substances. [music] In this next case, a 5-year-old boy was found alone on the street in a very miserable state. What officers uncovered over the next few minutes painted a deeply troubling picture of what that child's night had looked like. >> Did you say where she was going? >> No, cuz I was sleep. >> You was asleep? Where were you? >> I was at the bar. She was supposed to watch him talk me out. >> Okay. Well, she's not. How much you had to drink tonight? cuz you just drove here and I saw you. >> I didn't drive here. >> Yes, you did. >> No, I didn't drive here. >> I can definitely tell you're inebriated. Okay, you're definitely drunk. >> On October 30th, 2024, a police officer encountered a 5-year-old boy standing alone outside a residence. Visibly upset, the child told the officer that he was looking for his mother and that no one was home to care for him. >> Do you know where your mommy usually goes? >> 603. >> You want to sit in the front seat? >> I sit on my couch. >> You want to sit on your couch? Does your mommy work at night? No. Does she have any friends here? Do you know where her friend's house is? No. Where's it at? >> One's over there. >> You know the numbers. You say one of this one here. >> Yeah. And then that one right there. >> What's your mommy's name? >> Cheyenne. >> Hey, buddy. This is my partner, Officer. He's a real cool guy. He's going to hang out with you for just a second. Okay. I'll be right back. Hey, buddy. How are you? So, your mommy's name is Shaunie. >> Cheyenne. >> Cheyenne. Did you say where she was going? >> No, cuz I'm asleep. >> You was asleep. How old are you? >> Five. All right. Did you have a babysitter tonight? >> No. Who usually babysits you? Which which apartment they live in? >> They don't live here. They just go in that one's house, not that one. >> They go in this one. >> Yeah. >> The boy couldn't say where his mother, Cheyenne, had gone. He had been asleep when she left. Nor could he confirm if a babysitter was supposed to be watching him. Officers now face the task of finding someone connected to Cheyenne or who was responsible for taking care of the boy. >> Hello, police. >> Police department. >> Is the child's name? >> Right. >> Yeah. Was asleep when she left. >> We have a location for where she's at. >> There's a detective on the line with her now. We're trying to see if she can go towards you. >> Right. We'll be right out front of her residence. >> She's advising she's on her way. She'll be about 10 minutes. She said the neighbor was supposed to be watching them and she was asleep when she left. >> Are you able to ask her which neighbor disconnected already? She'll be here in about 10 minutes. >> Neighbor's supposed to be watching. I'm excited to see which neighbor it is and I want to talk to him. Hey buddy, it's a little cold. Why don't you let me show you the police car and then your mommy's coming so I'll get you right to her as soon as she gets here. Is that cool? And you ain't got no shoes on or nothing. It'll be a little bit warmer in my car. Well, can we hang out here then until your mom gets here? Was your mom's friend maybe watching you? No. Hello. >> Hello. Let's wait here for a second. >> Okay. Where were you? >> I was at the bar. She was supposed to watch me go out. >> Okay. Well, she's not >> and she didn't at all. >> Okay. >> So, this is a real problem because your 5-year-old son standing on the corner of Sherman Park. >> Okay. I understand that for sure. >> Right. So, somebody needs to take ownership of this right now and I need to have serious conversation with them cuz that is endangering of a child. >> I understand that for sure. >> I'm upset. You need to go give me your babysitter now. He'll get her for me now. Of course. >> Can I take him with me? Can I carry him with me? >> I need to speak with your babysitter. >> But can I grab him and carry him with you? >> That's fine with me. I don't care. That's your son, right? >> Yeah, of course. >> Here, you can step back a little bit. This where she lives? >> Yeah. >> I would like to talk to her first, please. You just want to go back. Police department. Open door. Hey, where's upstairs? >> Hey, go get her. Tell her to come here. I need to talk to her. Hi. Are you >> all right? Come on out here. Come on out here. Close the door behind you. He can stay inside. I don't need to talk to him. Are you supposed to be baby babysitting anybody right now? Uh yeah. >> Okay. Why aren't you? >> Um she told me to go check on him and come back. >> When was that? >> Right before I went to bed, >> which was 1:15 now? >> Around 10. >> So you weren't actually babysitting him. You're just checking on him periodically. >> Yeah. >> Is that a the deal? You're supposed to go check on him once an hour or it was like a hey, will you go check on him one time and then come back home kind of thing? >> From what I heard, it was check on him one time. >> All right. Was there any agreement at all? She text you, email you? >> Not that I'm aware of. I do know. >> So, how did you know to go check on him one time? >> She told me that right before she left. >> Okay. Which was that 10:00? >> Around like 9:00. >> I want you to stand right here. You're not going to go back inside yet, okay? Until I come tell you that's all right. >> Cheyenne eventually arrived, admitting she had been at a bar and claiming a babysitter was supposed to look after her son. But when the police spoke to the nanny, she insisted that the agreement was only for a one-time thing. Cheyenne, however, had a very different story. >> So, why is that? because I told him to. Here's here's the deal. She said you asked her to go check on him at 1000 p.m. There was no >> there was no agreement to watch him at all. >> That's never came on my life. >> Okay. What was the agreement to watch him? >> To come check on him every so often cuz he's asleep. He's 5-year-old. Yes. And she's right there. I told him to come check on him every so often. Yes, I did say that for sure. >> Okay. She's saying you did. >> But I did for sure. >> That's not good enough. >> Yeah. >> That's not good enough. Does that >> He's five. I know he's fine, but he comes in and I give him a bath. I give him his medicine and he goes back. >> Maybe he wasn't. My bad. Okay. Nobody's perfect. Okay. My bad. So, I'm I'm really irritated. I'm not that type of person. Okay. I'm not I'm not this type of person that like is what's going on. >> Listen, I understand I understand things happen, but we're worried about the 5-year-old boy. Okay? >> But my son is fine cuz I'm not that type of mom. I'm not that type of person. And this happened at the wrong time. >> Regardless, listen, we're past that now. So, I need your social, your name, and your date of birth. Listen, >> okay, I'm not going to deal with your attitude because technically that is endangering of a child. So, if you want me to charge you with that, I can't cuz you had no absolutely no plan to take care of him through the night. He's 5 years old. So, if you don't want this to go a different way, I I suggest you simmer down right now. >> So, that's why I'm mad right now. >> Give me your date. I'm upset. That's why I'm upset. Is this >> How much you had to drink tonight? Cuz you just drove here and I saw you. >> I didn't drive here. >> Yes, you did. No, I didn't drive here. >> Okay. >> I for sure did not drive here. I was never behind wheels. Was never behind wheels at all. I'm not trying to be rude. I'm not trying to be nothing. But I'm I am for sure upset right now. >> Yeah, we are, too. >> But you're talking about me being rude, but you're being rude. >> That's fine. I mean, you you have an attitude and I found your 5-year-old on the corner of Sherman Park. So, >> of course, that's my child for sure. I understand that. Yeah, >> but you have an attitude with me talking about I'm being rude. I'm not being rude at all. >> I'm done talking to you about it. >> Okay. I'll tell you what's going to go on here in just a second. >> All right. But being rude to me is crazy. But to tell me I'm being rude is crazy. I'm not being rude with you, but you're mad. You think I'm not mad? You're all trying to put me as a bad mom. And like that is crazy. >> We're not saying anything. >> But but you are though. >> Cheyenne insisted the babysitter's role wasn't just to look at the child once. And she kept making excuses, even accusing officers of trying to make her look like a bad person. Still, the police needed to press her with more questions. Do you have any way to prove to me that there was a organized babysitter for tonight other than just one time >> and she was supposed to take him? What? >> That's not what she said. >> That's not what she said. But I mean he >> I know what I said. >> He doesn't agree with you. >> You're suspended. You can't drive. >> Yeah, I know. But I'm not driving anywhere cuz my kid is here. >> Yeah. Well, I mean you did at some point, right? >> Yeah, but when not my kids in the car. No, not at all. So what does it matter if my kids here and I'm not driving? >> So what's going to happen is I'm going to document this and we're going to move forward. Okay. But >> look, I don't I'm not trying to be rude. I'm not tripping or nothing like that. I went out for a drink or two, maybe even more. And I asked my neighbor, which was obviously did not happen. Of course, I'm the mother. That's my fault. This time it's her fault, too. I didn't mean for that to happen at all. >> We're going to wait for children service to call me and we'll see what's going to happen. Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, you guys are calling children service a little bit for that. It's crazy. >> It's not crazy. >> No, absolutely not. >> It does look >> You have no way to prove to us that you had a babysitter set up for >> I did though. So, like, so like when you guys leave, I'm really have to spasm her though because I'm not on that. I don't do that. >> I wouldn't do that. >> That's not going to do. >> Right. So, but if I asked you to do that, so why make you look like the bad person? >> I mean, if I were you, I'd be glad that the police found your kid other than some random Right. >> Oh, for sure. But I'm not that type of person either at all. >> Not what type of person? What are you talking about? >> To find my kid here, nor there. >> We found your kid on the corner. >> I understand that. But somebody So, I asked the wrong person. Obviously, I asked the wrong person. That's what happened, right? Right. So, why fault me for it? It make me cuz you're making me sound like a real bad person right now. >> That's cool. >> That's cool. It's very cool. Very calm, cool. lit for sure. >> Yeah, that's that's crazy. >> All right, so if you're done, >> No, we're going to wait. We're going to wait. >> Okay, you can wait for sure. >> I know you're being detained for child endangerment. So, you're going to stay where I tell you to stay. >> That is crazy, bro. >> Our dispatch center was able to contact mother. She was at a bar in the area. Uh, and took her about approximately 15 minutes to respond home. And she currently seems to be inebriated. She's very argumentative and was actually unable to just recall her son's birthday for, you know, a good minute there. So, right child walked out of his front door freely to the corner. He was by himself with no shoes on, wrapped in a blanket. Uh there's no call for service for this either. We were just patrolling the area and noticed him. He was crying on the corner. Didn't know where his mom was. spoke with the babysitter and the babysitter was told or notified me that she was only asked to check on the child one time at 1000 p.m. right after the mother had left and the mother has not contacted her regarding checking on the child again since uh she's been at the bar since around that time 9:30 10:00 one time. Yep. Just after the mother had left. >> Officers contacted child protection services to determine whether leaving the boy with Cheyenne was appropriate or if another measure was necessary. Once a decision was made, the officer returned to inform Cheyenne. >> Cheyenne, is there anybody in this area that could watch your baby tonight? Maybe a family member or something. >> Yeah. >> Who's that? >> Their dad. >> Cheyenne, you going to stay home for the rest of the night? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. So, Cheyenne, I think you're able to take care of yourself. I can definitely tell you're inebriated. Okay. You're definitely drunk. So, here's what here. Let me talk and then we're going to I'll let you talk. Okay. Cuz we're going to just bring it down a level. So, I told her that you are capable of being here with your son for the night. I don't think you're so drunk to where you can't take care of yourself and your baby. Okay. But what I would recommend is it's 1:00 a.m. He's 5. You need to go to bed. He needs to go to bed. Okay. It's actually 1:35. And I would like for the father to come over here. Okay. Is that is that a deal? >> Now, I'm letting you know now CPS is going to follow up. So, that's just my warning to you. Okay. What's the father's name? >> He's by your mother's dead like for sure. >> Okay. Hey, what I want you to do is she might be a little upset. So, what I want you to do is take your baby and your u boyfriend, husband, brother, whatever it is, go back in your house, shut your door, lock it. If she comes beating on your door, call us back because I don't know what her intentions are tonight. All right, sound good. If I need anything else from you, I'm going to come get a statement form from you. I'm not sure if I need that right now. If I come and I'm beating on the door, I'm knocking on it. I'll announce police department so you can come to the door. Okay, sound good. >> You know, I she was on on the phone with me before she came and dropped her off and she was like, "Well, I do have just shot." And I'm like, "Well, I have an extra bedroom with beds in it. He can come here." And she didn't tell me until after she dropped her off that, "Oh, I'm going to leave your home." >> Okay. All right. Well, is this her baby? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. [laughter] Okay. All right. Give me just a second. All right. Hey, Sarge. She's got a daughter down there with him. >> She does? >> Her daughter? >> Yeah, I know. >> I didn't even know that. Why didn't she leave with I'm going to write the summons and move on. We're waiting till he gets here cuz you're transferring custody. Are you calling him? >> Yeah. >> Okay. We just tell him we got to wait here until you transfer custody. >> Yeah, they're waiting for you, bro. What's up? >> And I'm walking up there now. >> What? >> Tell them I'm walking up here now. >> I mean, they hear you. I hear you. >> Tell them the sergeant's walking to them. >> Sorry. You said car's walking up. >> That ain't your focus over there with them sparkly handles. Mm. Pretty nice. >> That's not friends. Maybe. >> I don't have my license on it. I just drive car. >> Okay. >> Are you hearing this? I'm not about to keep doing this, bro. I'm not about to keep doing this. >> Keep doing what? You just got the kids to house your own house. You done that. Nobody keep doing what? Shut the up. >> Who drove you over here? >> It's weird. I didn't see her in the car. >> Do you know her? >> No, I watched you pull in here. >> Okay. >> I mean, I think I'm doing a huge favor by not giving you an OVI test, taking you to jail for that. >> Okay. >> I don't know why you did. Whatever. >> When the police officer went to advise the babysitter, he discovered something shocking. Cheyenne had another child she had never mentioned. As everyone waited for the children's father to arrive, Cheyenne kept arguing with the officer. >> You're always trying to make me look like such a bad person got to be. But that's fine for sure. >> I'm not trying to make you look like anything. >> Why you drove here? I didn't drive here. I did not drive here. I know I didn't. >> All right. I don't want to argue with you about that. >> But you like it all seems like y'all's life more than it's got to be, bro. Like I'm not >> more than it's got to be. It's a 5-year-old's life. >> Okay. And I understand that. And that's my 5-year-old's life for sure. I understand that. But it was a misunderstanding for sure. >> And that happens. So it's why y'all keep trying to put me like I'm more than go. Like what? Cuz you keep bringing up to me and it's me mad. So like supposed to not talk about it. Like I get for sure. And someone I was definitely in the wrong but the same time though. It was not supposed to be like that. It's never been like that. So [ __ ] happens for sure. 100%. It definitely happens. Like so if you heard my name for sure then you would heard it in the system a couple more than times in one time. For sure. >> Yeah. I saw your stuff in there but I didn't like see >> but it wasn't for my children for sure. First of all >> I didn't even look. Yeah. I thought your name was in there though. >> Look into that. You know what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Cuz I'm not about him at all. >> How you doing, brother? >> I'm alone at the apartment again. Okay. >> The very last one. I'm going to go with him cuz probably going to open that door. I'll tell her it's all right. I told her not to answer the door for nobody. He's good to have her. Okay. He's going to take he's going to take both babies tonight. Thank you. >> Is this like a all the time thing or this a continuous thing? This this I'm sorry. This happen all the time. Thank you guys for keeping her up for this. He's asking question this ever happens again. I'm gonna give you guys my number. Just call my phone because this is ridiculous. >> See, because this is the third. This is the You're not the only people this ever. >> Oh my lord, you are so cute. I just had my first daughter. Okay, you guys. >> I think I thought block out. There you are. >> You guys go ahead and lock up. Okay. Have a good night. Sorry. Thank you for coming. >> Thank you for calling me and not taking my eyes are too big for you. >> I don't daddy on your shoes upstairs. still got your suit. >> Dad, look what um Zaden said. >> Those are nice and don't leave them outside like you do the ones memo got you. >> Hey Jan, go grab your shoes, buddy. >> The children's father arrived frustrated, saying this wasn't the first time such a situation had occurred. As the children prepared to leave with him, Cheyenne tried to intervene, but officers kept her back. >> You come on out here, buddy. >> I'll get Jan for you. >> Get my baby. Don't get so >> handy. She's No. >> Hey, we're not ripping. >> No, I'm not that all my baby. >> Hey, we're not going to fight over his baby. Stop. >> I'm not fighting my baby. >> Let go of him. Let go of her. Let go of him. We already agreed to a change of custody. Get off of >> At least for tonight. We're not going to get Hansy in here. >> Hold on. Hold on. Sh. >> Stop. >> Hey, hold on. Come here. >> Come here. [clears throat] >> Come here. >> On your back. You're going to be placed under arrest right now for this order. I'm uh disorderly intox. Okay, put your hands together like your brain. All right, I'm going to let just out of respect for you, I'm going to let your kids get in their car and then I'm going to walk you out. Okay, I don't want your kids seeing all this. >> Am I getting arrested? What >> disorderly conduct by in tops? Okay, we don't believe that you are able to take care of yourself because >> I am. I believe you drove here. I >> promise I am. I go to sleep, bro. Like, I'm not talking enough to go to sleep. Like, I promise I'm talking so like straight right now, bro. Like, I'm not. Let's just >> like I I swear to God though. >> Hey, don't turn around on me. Just calm down. All right, listen. Intox is 8 hours. You [snorts] got in the morning, okay? It's only an 8 hour hold. I wrote you a summon for the other thing that would actually hold you. Okay? So, you're going to be good in 8 hours. You're going to be out here. You can fight your case. I'm doing you a favor. I really am. It might not seem like it, but I am. I promise you. Now, I would really like you don't you really don't know where your keys are. I won't ask you again. >> No, I really don't. >> I just want to lock your house cuz this is your key now. >> Okay. All right. All right. I just don't want nobody breaking your house. You know what I mean? Hey, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can, and will be used against you in a court of law, you have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning [snorts] if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. You understand your rights? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Your little girl is adorable. >> Thank you. >> She's so cute. She really is. >> Driving away so your son doesn't see you handcuffed. Okay. >> No, no, no. Back up. Back up. I don't want your kid to see that. I'm not even leaving that up to you. You're going to wait here. I'm not [snorts] letting that boy watch you go in cuffs. Okay. So, you just sit right here. [laughter] [snorts] >> She's been merandized. >> Anything else on you? >> No. >> Okay. Need help? >> No. >> You okay if I reach across you to Loco Yan? Is that all right? >> Yeah. >> All right. Here. Lean back for you. Just for now. I know it hurts. Give me just a second. All right. Hey, Cheyenne. Which car was that? The black Ford Focus. You say it's your front door. >> Yeah. The guys call me and I can't like I have to go. >> Was it the black focus? >> I don't know if it was the focus. I don't know what time it is. >> Yeah. So it's a black focus. Okay, I got you. Uh it's just an inx hold. So probably about 8 hours and then you have your first summon that I issued you earlier that you'll have poured on. >> In the end, Cheyenne was taken into custody and charged with child endangerment and disorderly conduct. In the next case, a night out at a local bar turned into a nightmare after a couple refused to walk away. When the police arrived to intervene, they were met with severe accusations and a young child caught in the middle. >> They told us that you would against the car. Okay? So, that's not the problem, too, is you're plastered and you're sitting in the driver's seat of the car with the with the keys. >> No, no, no. Okay. >> Am I going to get a new family? >> No, baby. You're not going to get a new family, okay? You're still going to have your family. >> On February 16th, 2025, officers escorted an intoxicated couple out of a local bar for trespassing. Just minutes later, an employee reported that the husband, Hector, was checking his wife in front of their 5-year-old children. >> You >> Is this really what we're going to be doing tonight? Seriously? >> No. Being honest with you? No. >> No. Because now we have a witness saying something happened back here. So >> So what's happened? >> Do you want to go Do you want to go that route? >> No. No. >> Cuz we'll go that route. >> No. No. No. >> Being honest with you. I tried to get everything. So >> right. Well, so two problems exist right now. One, they told us that you were her against the car. Okay. So that's not the car. Problem check. I'm going to I'm going to s behind. Let's check the camera. >> That's problem one. Problem two is you're plastered and you're sitting in the driver's seat of the car with the with the keys. >> No, no, no. Okay. >> Baby, they say that I strangle you. Let's see the cameras. What are they? We go and see the cameras. Let's see the cameras. >> All right. Perfect. >> Let's see the cameras. Okay. >> You guys are doing all of this in front of your camera. >> No, exactly. Being on camera. You doing this? Are you kidding me? You doing all of this, >> baby? >> Because he's Hispanic. Are you kidding me? >> Baby. Baby, being honest with you. I I just want to go home. Be honest with you. >> I've been crying for the last baby. >> You are. That's a lot. >> Yeah. And then he's getting he went to jail for trespassing. So >> that's not much. >> No. I mean, in the grand scheme of things, it's not. I mean, and all they had to do, we told them, we're like, because they said, "Well, we're not driving. We're not driving." We're like, "If you're driving, you need to take an Uber. Just Uber the hell home. Get out of here." >> And so they decided to come back and try to drive with >> Yeah. >> Like, what are we doing? >> Yeah. No, for sure. >> You know, so um All right, buddy.
