It was a Tuesday afternoon around 4:35 p.m. on March 24th, 2026 when police were dispatched to a local Target for a reported retail theft in progress. The surveillance footage begins with a woman entering the store already pushing a shopping cart as she heads toward the electronics department. As you'll hear later in the body cam footage, store employees already recognized the woman from an earlier incident that same day when she had been inside the store with another man. Because of that earlier encounter, loss prevention says they were already watching her closely the moment she came back in. According to staff, she had also been wandering through employee-only areas, recording people inside the store and making employees uncomfortable. Once inside electronics, the woman spends a long time talking with employees while moving throughout the department and handling merchandise from display areas. At several points, she appears to be casually chatting with one of the younger employees while continuing to move around the department. As the footage continues, employees walk back and forth through the area while the woman stays near the electronics desk. At one point, she brings the card over and sits across from one of the employees while continuing the conversation. Later, after the employees walk away from the desk area, the woman appears to reach into or near her bag while sitting there. Because the surveillance camera is mounted high above the sales floor, it's difficult to clearly see exactly what she's handling at that moment, and the footage alone does not confirm whether anything was taken from the desk area. A short time later, she leaves the electronics department with the cart and heads toward the front exit. As she moves through the store, the surveillance camera actively follows her movements, making it clear that store security were watching her in real time. According to police and store employees, the cart contained approximately $360 worth of electronics and miscellaneous merchandise, including multiple Apple products. As she reaches the exit doors, a loss prevention officer immediately stops her with the card. Since there is no audio, the conversation can't be heard. But it's later revealed in this footage that employees accused her of attempting to leave the store without paying while she repeatedly denied stealing anything. Then the situation quickly begins to escalate. Surveillance shows the woman becoming visibly upset as she removes a green bag from the cart and walks back toward the selfch checkckout area with loss prevention. According to employees and responding officers, she then began causing a disturbance near the registers, yelling at staff, accusing employees of racism, and disrupting both customers and cashiers while officers responded to the scene. >> Still by check out >> somebody by the self checkout stealing. Please let me sit down. >> Can you please listen to me? >> Possible retailer. >> No, you know it wasn't >> my freaking out. >> Sorry. >> What do we got? Um she she came in earlier with another gentleman that was under the influence of drugs. I've been watching her since she walked in with the other gentleman electronics. Um she selected electronics yeah rather items and attempted to walk out without paying for the merchandise. Um not only that before that I I presented myself to let her know like hey I've been watching you for a while. Um you um you escalated situation. She was in the back room where Timmer was only shooting um and she was back there um saying she was looking for milk or something. Anyways, um when she went to go walk out, I went to stop her. Um she didn't comply and she went back to selfch checkck out and started creating the entire scene saying she didn't mean to walk out with the merchandise. Um and then that's when I reached out to you guys cuz it was obviously starting to escalate and she started getting very very close and aggressive. >> Okay. >> Um like she is now. So, you want like the long story or short story? I have your own video. >> Don't matter to me. >> Okay. So, I was looking for um my mouth. Are you going to give me >> Huh? >> What? >> My wife. Please don't give me a chance to pause me. I just got accepted in this hand. I'm waiting four. Please, I almost feel like for me, >> I don't want to admit it. Hey. Uh, Fender. Fender. >> Can you stand by with her? >> My electric before I got here. >> Yeah, that's mine. And then in there there's a um >> an army backpack that has my Apple MacBook Air. It has my son's um Apple. It's going to be retail as well. >> What? No. I avoid it all from Apple. >> Um, you want to bring her >> disorderly? Yeah. Stop talking for a second. Just stop. >> Just stop. >> Okay. Just Just let us talk. >> I haven't even asked you any questions. >> I haven't asked you any questions. >> Just stop. Stop. >> Um, do you want to bring her into LP office and we can just >> No, she's she's being belligerent >> and pulling and and running and all that. No, I'm afraid. Are you a parent? >> Are you a parent? >> This is your watch, correct? >> Cuz my son I just watch My son was in an accident. >> Is this your watch? >> I'm going to put it in your purse. Okay. >> You hear me? >> Your son was in an accident. >> Yeah. >> I'm sorry to hear that. >> No, it's so good. >> I'm going to go confirm what we've got. >> Look, I >> Yeah, he said he >> I haven't asked her anything. >> Please, please. >> Sorry, but if you want to do that, then >> How do you open this thing? >> I know. Sorry. >> Where's my Are you getting the rest of my stuff in the army bag? >> Please don't set me. >> Just open the purse, please. So, I can put >> I remained clean for 4 months. >> But that's just for the hope that I finally got into the god-based one. >> You able to open the purse? >> I go this way. Not like this. You got to squeeze these two. >> Squeeze them how >> like together and then bump it up. >> Perfect. Look, please. >> Please. What? >> Can I explain to you? I am going to love video. It will be real on video. >> Yeah, you can explain. Just put your feet in first so I can close the door and I'll open the window. All right. >> Cuz you're taking me to jail no matter what. >> Put your feet in. >> I'm going I'm going to listen no matter what. I just asking that what it is. >> I mean, I have cameras. Watch their cameras. It wasn't It wasn't me. >> Okay. Well, we're going to review the cameras and then we'll figure out what's going on. >> Go back there. I even have corporate calling because all of a sudden once the workers saw that I knew about their their um uh penny deal, you know, but then the guy brought me in the back to collect it and then when they saw what the price was, all the women started getting nasty and I was like, I don't understand, you know, like that's what came up. >> You mind stepping out for us? She's going to pat you down and search you. Okay. I was like, I don't understand. >> No, you people 9year-old to the hospital, too. Okay. >> Take this off you. Okay. >> When you're being that way. >> Oh, look at you. And when you're being threaten when you're being sorry and when you're being threatened of stealing stuff like I'll show you my bank. I make I have more than he makes in a year. >> People can say whatever they want, >> you know, but all right I'm >> okay. I didn't say you were. >> I know you see that and you absolutely put that stuff out there cuz Um, probably close to $200 worth of stuff. Okay. >> Yeah, there was a I called about maybe earlier. There was another gentleman here that was like doing like the whole lean like over in men's together. Um, she was walking around electronics asking for a whole bunch of basic. >> What about the stuff in the trash? Is that our stuff? >> No, it's not. Just the stuff. Everything that's not inside the not inside. >> I didn't walked over to her and let her know. >> I mean, I was trying to be, you know, cordial with her at first cuz honestly, I didn't really know >> what was going on. >> Well, I mean, at that point when I get there, she's already back paying for the stuff allegedly. But, you know what I mean? I got to figure out what >> I mean, at the very least, I got RA and disorderly. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> And like when I saw her earlier, I walked over to I'm like, "Hi, how you doing? My name's Dante. I leave the security department for the store. I've gotten multiple complaints about you. Um, you can't be in team member only areas. You also Yes, today. Yeah. Cuz she was you've been in the store for Were you familiar with her before?" >> No. No. This is all today. When I was watching her, like I walked over and let her know like, "Hey, like you're making people very uncomfortable. You're recording people. You cannot record people in store." I even let her know, I'm not going to kick you out right now. Um, but what I need you to do is just relax. And she was like, you [ __ ] racist and all this other stuff. And I was just like, whoa, what? >> You'll give me a itemizer receipt and all that good stuff. >> Yes, that's what um that's what he's doing right now. >> Cool. When she kicked the door, did she make it inoperable or? >> Um, no. I fixed it. >> Okay. Did she break anything in the store? >> Um, no. Not to my knowledge. >> This is her now. >> Yeah, this is her walking out. The stuff was still sealed on her. >> The stuff was Yeah, it's still sealed and everything. And I told her I was like, you know, my name is Dante again. Like I just told you. I was like, I need you to come with me to the office and we so we could talk about this unpaid merchandise. She was like, what are you talking about? I didn't even know I was leaving. Did >> she touch you at any point? >> Um, no. She didn't touch me. I kept backing up. She kept getting really close and I was like, "Ma'am, you're making me really uncomfortable. Do me a favor for our safety. Just go ahead and back up." Then she started like going to the register and like ripping stuff off and like printing stuff out. Like she's asking me who I'm on the phone with. And like I was trying to tell the operator. I'm like, "Hey, like this is escalating. Like I have to involve my team. I have to involve my leader cuz this about to end up on TikTok or something." >> Yeah. >> And she was just like, "No, I need you to stay on the phone." And I'm just like, "Yeah, but this end up on TikTok before I tell my leaders like >> um so that was >> all right. I'll give you um the link and all that so you can send me that." >> Yes. Good. >> Um, the next one. >> I just came in here to, you know, >> confirm what I what I got there. >> So, just give me the uh just give me a sworn and then >> you know how it goes. >> Yes. >> Raise your right hand. State your first and last name. >> First name. >> And you and you swear and affirm that everything you just told me is the truth and nothing but the truth. >> Yes, I do. >> Cool. Target wants to prosecute. >> Target would like to prosecute and trespass. Yes. >> And trespass. >> Yes. >> Okay. um you'll give me an itemized receipt for everything >> and um we're good. So, up until the point where I got here, she had taken the stuff, went back to selfch checkckout pretending like she was going to pay, but she was never making an effort to pay or anything. Didn't bring out any money or anything like that. >> No, never. She never produced any type of money um cash card or anything. She would I don't even I'm not even sure if she scanned any merchandise. Um but like I told I was like you at [clears throat] this point like you've already attempted to pass you already passed all points to sales and attempted to exit. Um, so like at that point you paying is not like in the picture, but if you come to the office like we could speak about it and she was just like, "No, no, I'm going to pay." Like I'm gonna pay. I'm going to pay. I'm just I'm not in my right mind. Blah, blah, blah. So then obviously I can't like we're hands off so I'm not if she attempts to go over there and pay, that's up to her. She can do whatever she wants to do. But then it started to escalate and she started screaming. Um, and it started to cause a huge scene in the store. So again, like that's when I reached out to you guys. I'm like, "Hey, like at this point we need her out in the store." But that is upsetting me because like I wouldn't steal. Just let us figure it out. Okay. >> Well, if there's no probable cause of retail theft, then you won't >> tell you guys the fault. Let him let him read you that. Okay. >> All right. >> I'm required. >> What's that? >> The tissue. My eyes, my nose. >> I don't have any. Just let him read it. Okay. All right. >> I'll see if I have one. >> I'm required to warn you before you make any statements that you have the following constitutional rights. >> [snorts] >> You have the right to remain silent, not answer any questions. >> You listening? >> Any statement you make must be free, freely and voluntarily given. >> You have the right to the presence and representation of lawyer of your choice before you make any statements and during any questioning. >> If you cannot afford a lawyer, you are entitled to the presence and representation of a courtappointed lawyer before you make any statements and during any questioning. If at any time during the interview you do not wish to answer any questions, you are privileged to remain silent. I can make no threats or promises to induce you to make any statements. This must be of your own free will. Any [snorts] statement can be and will be used you used against you in the court of law. >> No. >> Okay. Knowing your rights as I have read them to you just now, are you willing to talk with officers without an attorney? Okay. >> And honestly, she I don't know if you heard she but said she remember my name. She said, "Wow." >> Yeah. What was your first name? Amanda. >> Amanda. >> What's your middle name? Amanda. >> Spell. >> What's your birthday? >> Sorry. One more time. >> Sorry. >> Okay. What's a good phone number for you? Can you please walk in? Need you to make sure everyone doesn't steal my army bag. I brought my army backpack in like my brand new. >> What you want the tissues for? To wipe your eyes or what? >> My nose and my eyes. >> Thank you. >> Amanda, what's your social? >> Yeah. I don't want to accidentally poke you in the eye. >> Yes. >> All right. You good? one again very promise. I promise. >> All right, Amanda, just swing your legs in so I can close the door. >> Just like show you my face to show you I didn't want to steal. >> Show me what your bank account. >> Yeah, like just to show you like like that. I just literally and you'll see the time stamp from my mom calling me like I literally just you know >> what's your bank account going to show me >> that I >> that you paid for digits and and yeah like >> I don't steal >> listen there's very good cameras in Target. If you paid for something we're going to see it. >> Okay. And if you didn't pay for something >> I tell you though is is what happened when my mom called me. I guess I did beline it for the door, but I didn't make it out the door. >> Why did you beline for the door? >> Because I think it was natural reaction. And then once I got >> natural reaction to what? >> Running to the car. When your kids when your kids's in danger, >> are you a parent? >> Okay. You're saying your kids's in danger? >> Like, yeah. Someone calls me if your kids in danger. Not your reaction. >> So, you're saying you ran because somebody said your kid? I >> didn't run from someone. There wasn't someone running like >> I say from someone else you said ran >> like I was trying to get to my side as soon as possible and then as soon um me when uh um never eat >> cuz it's caused a huge issue. >> Cool. And then her um >> her creating that disturbance did it stop any cashiers from doing their job or like customers from paying? >> For sure. A lot of a lot of guests kind of like uh you can you'll see like a lot of them didn't even want to go to that area cuz she seemed very like erratic. >> She was acting disorderly and stuff. >> Yes. Very disorderly. >> Okay. All right. Um so I guess I'll give you the I'll send you the link. You know how it goes. You just upload it. >> Upload the video. >> Um I'll give you the case card and all that. And um if you could just get me that receipt, that'd be great. But >> yes, he should be on his way back now. Um, but like I said, I can I have to figure out what time her and the other gentleman got in cuz the other guy they took out in a stretcher cuz he was like like I said, he was like straight up like leaning over. >> What do you mean a stretcher? >> Like paramedics came and up like he was like on or something. >> Okay, fair enough. >> Disorderly or a >> retail? No, I don't know. >> I don't work this side. I'm literally like >> I just happen to be close by, but I work on the other side of the city. All right, cool, man. Um, >> thank you. So, as soon as I get the link, I'll send all that to >> you. I'm still going to come back. Yeah, I still need the receipt and all that stuff. >> All right, >> cool. >> I mean, her stuff is in that car, too. If you want to just take >> I think she dropped another Apple Watch over in Gary. I didn't want to touch it. It's on the floor. I >> wonder where she got. Probably Best Buy. And then as soon as I got not like this last one, >> but the one like before, >> he was like waiting out here. >> And he was like, "Oh, no, no, this." And I was like, >> "Amanda, let me ask you a question. >> What? >> Did you take things from Target without pay without paying for them?" >> No. >> So, we're not going to watch camera footage and see that you stole anything? >> No. And when >> because you don't have to exit the doors, you have to pass the registers without providing payment. >> But but as soon as >> So did you pay for the items in your possession? >> But as soon as he brought it to my attention what I was doing, I immediately said fine. I don't need it right now. And then he seemed like that wasn't a happy answer for him. I was kind of to show him I had the money. I said, "Fine, can we hurry up and and get this paid?" You know. >> Okay. And then you started making a scene at the register. >> No, that's just because I didn't though. That was because when I walked up, >> sure, >> my whole army bag was open, >> my Apple watches were out and my wait, >> let me let me rephr let me rephrase the original question. >> Did you have items that belong to Target in your possession and you walk past the registers without paying for my possession, meaning the shopping? >> Yes. Or on you? Did you conceal anything? >> No. I mean, that's what I thought you were talking about, like concealing on me. >> No. Did you conceal anything? No. >> Was there anything in the shopping cart that you pushed past the register without paying for? >> No. I was so like >> just remember remember the fact that there's very clear cameras. >> Go near the but you'll see the panic in my face. I didn't even go near out the sound. I didn't even go near the registers. I literally was just like panicking to get out. Then as soon as you >> So did you have Target items in your possession and you attempted to exit the store without paying for them? >> When my >> Yes or no? >> I'm afraid to say yes or no. Then you're going to say, "No matter what we find, then you're admitting to doing a crime when I I didn't." >> If we don't find evidence of crime, >> I make my I've made my kids since they were two turn back in and returned stuff. >> You're You're dodging my question, Amanda. >> I'm not a princess anymore. >> You haven't given me a clear answer. Tell me the truth. What happened? [laughter] >> I'm telling you. >> No, you haven't answered. >> You keep deflecting. I was arg they were arguing with me that they won't tell me the items for cheats. So that I'll make >> Okay. If you're not going to answer my question, I'm just going to close the door. >> I'm answering it. >> You're not >> I'm answering the phone. >> You're beating around the bush. >> I I don't know when I'm beating around the bush. >> You want me to answer You want me to ask the question again so you can say yes or no? >> I did not leave this door right here. This door with stuff I didn't pay for. And as soon as I asked he I saw someone that said, "Wait, you did forgot to swing your legs in." Okay. You said, "Wait, you have to pay for that?" You offered to pay for it. >> Put your legs in the car. >> Why can't I >> Put your legs in the car. >> Speak to them. >> I'm going to roll down a woman. >> I want to speak to us. >> I did. >> Huh? >> She's She's beating her on the bush. She's not giving clear answer. You're under arrest for dis disorderly conduct, retail theft, and resisting arrest. Okay. >> Resist. >> Okay. >> How you guys doing this to me? I waited 4 months to get in this place. >> All right. Now you're going back. >> I didn't steal anything. Watch the tape. [snorts] >> I knew that you guys were just playing me. >> You pull the two tabs together towards each other. >> I would. You pull him like this. >> I want I want you to show me. >> Show me. >> My child's in the hospital and you guys are lying. Say I didn't admit. >> No, I didn't pass this door and try and make it to my car. >> Would you be able to send him a link? >> Yeah, you got a receipt and all that. >> He's getting me the receipt. >> Okay. That way I can just target this cuz >> and accusing me of being Where's my my army bag? >> Let me get it for you. >> Where's it at? >> The people on at the register is paying it. >> Which register? >> Can I speak to you, ma'am? Cuz these two men obviously want to arrest me. >> I'm listening to >> you said that you saw the chief. >> So I'll grab the receipt. I'll send them away property. I got to take it with me. >> Her green bag. >> Yeah. >> Did she say what register her bag's at? >> I saw the car with the L. >> Okay. >> Dante. >> No, the other guy. away with Bergman's waiting. Bergman's saying, "Thanks, Bergman." All right. I had to try to deal with the um boulevard traffic in here. >> All right, that's her stuff. Her phone as well. Then this is the receipt. It came out to $360. Cool. >> He's going to send you the link and then that's the case number there. >> And as far as we know, none of this is target. >> I saw her back there. >> She had already brought this in. >> Yeah. >> You said what? She had already brought this in with her. >> She came in with that. Yes, that's correct. >> That's her phone. >> That is her phone as well. Yeah. And then she's got um a Apple Watch over there on the floor in the dair. I can show you guys. >> Uh the Apple Watch Apple Watch is out here. >> There was another one back here on the floor. >> She didn't say anything about it. >> You guys can hear it. Take it. >> Let's take it for what? >> I don't know. I didn't do anything. >> Well, they have the videos. I have a video, too. >> Oh, wait. But they have the security videos. >> But mine is has video in it that shows, you know, that like I was screaming for my phone call and I was like rushing as soon as I saw him. If you watch it, you'll see. I immediately said, "Oh shit." And I I turned right back in and was trying to like rush to the selfch checkout and I was like, "Can we do this fast?" >> You know, and I started like started scanning stuff right away. >> I don't know. >> Can you please call him? Talk to who? >> Officer. >> Well, the security guard wants to press charges, so they have >> because Yeah, we want to know why. >> Why? >> You don't even believe me if I say it. >> You going to say it or no? >> Who you saying that to? Which which security guy said that to you? >> Which one was that? >> Was he wearing a uniform? Normal clothes? >> Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. >> Because she's I mean she was fighting. So you come and then >> No, I'm saying that right now. >> No. No. I did. I did already. >> Are you taking that out of town or you bring that to the lady at the station? >> Whatever. >> Whatever she want. >> Do I get released right away? >> Actually, it's going to have to stay at the station cuz it's electronics and all. >> Do I get released right away? >> No. No, you're going to county jail. >> I understand there's bail and tax, right? >> I don't know. I'm not a judge. >> That'll be up to the judge to decide. Okay. >> These come with petty. They're missing, aren't they? They all come with >> Well, it depends on what the receipt was. I didn't see the receipt. >> Why are you being so You're the only one to hear >> cuz it's the receipt. I didn't see the receipt. I don't know what it is. >> The items that I was trying to pay for. >> Listen, Amanda, I don't know. I wasn't inside. I didn't get the statement. >> And then look at me. No, cuz you know what? I was pressing charges against his personal. >> It's $300. >> I could pay triple that. >> Cool. But you resisted arrest and you were being >> disorder. Resist arrest. >> If you weren't If you weren't resisting arrest, my camera would have never flown off. You would have never hit me. Right. >> So, stop wasting time. >> Good. Good. Bravo 6. >> Whenever you're wrong, you [ __ ] walk. >> That's what you do. >> What's going on, bro? >> And you're arresting me. >> Yeah. What's up? >> I don't know if you're still or not, but I don't believe.
