An officer on routine patrol has his dash cam rolling as he approaches an intersection with a green light. As he moves forward, a vehicle makes a right turn ahead of him without coming to a stop, continuing forward at a slow pace. The officer eases off and allows the vehicle to continue, then begins following behind it, watching its driving pattern. As the vehicle continues down the road, it appears unsteady, drifting within the lane and not maintaining a consistent path. Seeing this, the officer moves in behind the vehicle and activates his emergency lights. Even after the lights come on, the vehicle doesn't immediately pull over. It continues forward, braking multiple times while still moving. Moments later, the driver turns into a parking lot, but the stop isn't smooth. The vehicle goes up over a curb, then back down, before finally coming to a stop. At that point, the officer steps out and begins to approach the vehicle. Hey, stop the car. Stop the car. She was ultimately arrested on charges of driving under the influence, refusing to submit to DUI testing, and resisting without violence. According to the police report, after the arrest, she was taken to the jail, where the officer says a required observation period was completed before asking for a breath sample. The report states she was read implied consent, given multiple opportunities to provide a sample, and ultimately refused. She was also issued a traffic citation related to the initial stop for failing to stop and yield while turning at a red light. She was then booked into jail, but did not remain there long. Records show bond was set at a total of $2,250 across the charges, and she was able to post bond shortly after, allowing her to be released. As the case moved forward, the resisting without violence charge was later dropped by prosecutors [music] and did not proceed any further. However, the DUI-related charges remained active. A not guilty plea was entered, meaning the case is still being contested in court. So, at this point, the case is still ongoing, with the remaining charges still pending and no final outcome yet decided.
