And I hate >> This is just a book. Yeah, man. >> Thank you. 25 >> Yeah. What's up? >> Whose wallet is that? >> I don't know. That's what I was trying to figure out. I got some glasses and stuff over there, so >> It was on the floor. >> Yeah, so she is the driver of the vehicle. That's her vehicle. And then the passenger of the vehicle just got out and is gone inside that Focus right there. >> that it has something to do with it. >> Well, you can check all of us. Ain't none of us illegal. >> And then when I got here, none of them want to talk. So No. Nope, screwed up. Nobody in there. No. >> Have you ever had problems with the vehicle? Yes. >> Like what? >> Well, just a few months ago it broke down on 95. >> Mhm. >> Like it wouldn't stop, but that's about it. But anything else that happened >> brakes and stuff? >> Yes. I got it from Dream Cars. They fixed it. They said they fixed it. That's what I heard when I got it back, but other than that, I ain't had no other problems. >> Were you trying to go this way? Which way were you >> Yes, I was trying to come this way. When I first got in the car, the brakes wasn't working. Like, they said they fixed the brakes, the brakes still weren't working. It was still rolling as in like I stopped and it it'll still roll. But >> They're saying here so I'm trying to figure out if there was like traction when you made the turn. >> I'm trying to stop at that stop sign and it just kept rolling. >> And just kept rolling? >> Yeah. >> Did it hit the pole, Brooke? Is it tire or something on the other side, Brooke? Or is that road the That's what I'm saying, is that road is old, right? I think that one don't look bad either. No, I I think we're good. So, this is Brooke, right? >> Where's um >> She's in the other car. >> So, they were both um in the vehicle. It's obviously airbags deployed. Can you just check them out? >> Yeah, absolutely. Was it just this vehicle involved? >> Yes, just this vehicle. I think they just showed up afterwards, right? >> No, that Yeah. >> They weren't involved in it, though. Okay. >> showed up afterwards. >> Yeah, so they >> Okay. >> I don't know cuz I can't tell there's blood or anything. Did it hit your face, the airbags? >> Were you driving? Okay, how old are you? >> 21. >> Okay. And who else was in the vehicle? >> Miss She's over there. >> Did you have your seatbelt on? Okay, you're not hurting anywhere. What happened? >> I was trying to I was I was trying to stop the >> She said she said that she was trying to stop where that that two vehicles She was trying to stop at the stop sign. I don't know if she hit sand or whatever, but she made the turn and just she lost control >> control of her brakes and all that. >> What's that? >> All right. >> the seat belt fall off. No, I heard you. Your mom? >> Yeah. >> Good a good morning, right? >> Yeah. So, we talked. >> So, your daughter said that my shoes were trying to make the turn. The brakes on the vehicle, I guess, were faulty, causing it to collide with the pole. Front end damage isn't too bad, but both the airbags did go off. Yeah. Yeah. So, Exactly. Yeah, the airbags went off. Um and then the EMS is checking on your daughter and then her friend is >> right here. >> EMS there making sure your daughter and then her passenger is is okay. I was I was okay. >> Okay. Were you the only person in the vehicle? >> No, this isn't um so, it was >> Hey, how are you doing? >> That's the driver right behind you and then >> And she was in there by herself? >> No, no. She was in the vehicle and then the passenger that they're checking out in that vehicle, she was in here when we arrived. She wasn't. But yeah, they were both in there. >> Okay. >> I'll turn them off. >> Okay. Are you blue? All right. Can I talk to you over here? >> Yeah. >> So, I spoke to you about the car, right? About what happened to the car, right? You said that there was two people in You don't remember me asking you what happened? About that you were trying to make this the corner of the >> Oh, yeah. You did say that. >> And that's what I'm asking. >> Okay. Okay. >> So, you remember me talking about what happened with the accident. >> Okay. Yeah. >> Okay. So, now the crash report is done, okay? Now, I am investigating a DUI investigation, okay? that you are >> You said what? >> I said, "Now, I am done." Mom, you can stay over there. I said, "So, now I am done with the accident report." Okay? I turned it over to Officer Brown. Now, I am going to investigate the DUI investigation part of it because I believe that you were under the influence of alcohol. Okay? So, let me read this to you real quick, all right? I'm going to read you your Miranda rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in court. You have the right to >> Officer Taylor, will you go ahead and read her her Miranda rights and have her do the SFSTs or field sobriety tests to determine that she is intoxicated? Um after she's done doing that, if you have any belongings that you want to grab from the vehicle for your daughter, you can grab those after she concludes her investigation. >> Mhm. >> And um the vehicle is going to be towed. >> Okay. >> Your your rights. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, obviously, like I said, I saw you at 6:00 and I saw that you were having a hard time even walking throughout the parking lot. I don't know why you chose to drive, um but based on that, I want to be able to perform a series of tests to determine where you're at. You know, maybe you're not under the influence, but we have a series of tests that we would do to prove it. Do you want to do the tests? >> No. >> Okay. All right, take a deep breath and blanket for me. Okay. So, you're going to be placed under arrest for DUI, okay? And then I will explain everything to you when we get to the jail cuz there's a couple things that we have to do once we get there, okay? Keep me advised on 10-15. Okay, let me just lock these real quick. Don't get tighter on you. Do you want me to explain to Mom what's going on? I mean, you are an adult, so I don't have to talk to her. >> You can talk. >> I can talk to her, okay. Let's walk over to my car. I'm sorry, I know my hands are cold. Do you want to explain to Mom what's going on? >> got you. >> Okay, thank you. >> All righty, so she's going to be placed under arrest for DUI. Uh I'll give you a chance to go and get all your her belongings out of the car. I'm going to get a wrecker, we're going to tow it. Um once I get here, they'll provide you with where they're going to tow with car and everything like that. Um so, if you want, you can start grabbing stuff out of the vehicle and we can start loading into your vehicle. >> not I'm not going to I don't have time for that. >> Okay. Well, I mean, that's totally fine. If you don't want to grab that. Um if you do want to just grab that >> Well, I will. I will. >> Okay. >> Our picture is being posted anywhere on social media or >> Oh, honey, I don't plan on posting anywhere. I promise you. Can I give anything to your mom? >> Mhm. My phone? >> Okay, let me just search you. >> Anything is in my pocket. You can give it to my mom. >> the car for me. It makes it easier for me. >> Can I have my bail? >> You're not going to be able to take that to the jail. They're going to throw it >> want to take I just want to um hit it. >> No, no, no. Once you're detained, you can't Yeah, you can't ingest anything. >> Okay. >> It's one of our policies and rules and stuff like that, so. >> And I got to take that out of my pocket. All right. >> All righty. As I said, they're going to search you anyways when you get to the jail, so. >> Just one. >> So, she I'll let her know, but I have her mom grab some her stuff out of the vehicle, SO. >> HEY! HEY, STOP HER! YEAH, she wants my mom's address. I want I want my mom to have everything. Everything. >> she's she's parking behind the vehicle so she can grab the stuff out of your car. >> That's fine. Tell her to >> That's fine. >> Hey, let me talk to her right there that's coming up. I ain't taking no picture. I'm refusing to take a picture. I don't care. >> I don't have a camera. >> No, I'm just saying that. >> Oh, okay. Here, have a seat. >> What what what what what is it going to be her? >> She's being arrested for DUI. >> DUI? >> Yes, ma'am. >> That's it? >> Yep. >> She will have a bond? >> Yeah, of course. >> Okay. >> She has to sober up and then she'll be able to bond out. >> Okay, and well, how much will be her bond? >> I think it's 500, maybe. >> 500? >> Yeah, it's something like >> Or something. Yeah. >> I didn't tell you to call my mom to hurt her. >> Okay. >> All right. Tell her to send me me. >> Huh? >> Yeah, I told you to call me. I told them I I can't >> All right, they told All right, it's 500. >> All of them tell my mom they owe me. Give my neighbor federal money. When I was on that and then whatever I got paid >> What you What you got on now? >> I don't know. Whatever is on there and whatever I got paid >> All right, I'll put it on the I'll put it on the So, >> be able to call you guys as soon as we get through the the booking process, she'll be able to call you. That's all free calls and stuff. Rider. >> I got I got it. I got it. I got it. >> And then once she's able, she has to be like a triple zero. She can't be under the influence at all. They won't let her drink anything. >> So she can't >> She can't ingest anything until she's actually booked. Once she's actually booked >> Yeah, 10-7 >> No, but no, but for order you to come home, you have to be zero straight. What I'm telling you you you >> So once we get to the booking and once you're in there >> Okay, I understand you talking about your car, but I'm telling you no matter what's on your car >> I underst >> You'll have bonds. You'll have bonds. >> Matters if you have a bond, Rider. You have to be Rider, all right. >> And let's get to the jail. Quicker we get to the jail, quicker you can get out. Window up, sweets. I don't blame you. It's freezing. I really appreciate it just because that's one less thing that I have to >> Yep, I'll do the tow form and then >> Thank you. Honey, it's kind out of my control when you crash into a pole. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, well >> Go. Yeah, this [ __ ] hurt, bro. Stop. You know you well, Alex. >> I'm not I know you're just venting. I get it. >> I am. >> I know. I'm not I trust me, I take nothing to heart. I promise you. I promise you I was not looking for you. We we You guys called 911. YOU GUYS CALLED 911. >> BRO, BRO, WHY you do bro, like I don't even know. Like I ain't even going to talk. I ain't even going to say [ __ ] I ain't going to count no these handcuffs. Like I don't know if you can pull over and loosen them a little bit. >> As soon as I was going to say we we're literally two and a half minutes away from the jail. Okay. Uh no, we're almost at the jail, so it'll take me longer to pull over than it will be to to get to the jail. I promise you that. Yeah, I'm not taking your picture. I'm not taking your picture. I'm not doing anything like that. The only thing that's documented is my body camera. I don't have any control over that. I don't control my body camera. What's that? >> No, they didn't take no pictures of me. with that on there. >> OH, [ __ ] DAMN. BRO, WHAT THE I AIN'T NEVER BEEN TO JAIL BEFORE, BRO. This [ __ ] completely different. Oh, no, like damn there. This [ __ ] really make me think about it, like How long is it going to take me to bond out? >> Uh with DUIs, you have to be able to blow triple zeros. So, wherever you're at now, at however long it's going to take you to sober up. >> So, you got to know I ain't going to blow. I refuse to blow my straight. >> Okay. Well, let me I will explain everything cuz we got a lot of stuff we still have to do. So, I'll explain everything to you, okay? >> You know about everything. You want to say something, man? >> I'm fine. >> I can refuse, right? >> Yep, I will explain all your options when we get to the jail, okay? >> I thought you could just let me walk. >> No. >> Okay. >> Nope. >> You want to take me to jail right now? >> No, I have an obligation. You crashed into a pole. What do you mean it doesn't mean anything? That could have been a kid. That could have been anybody. I don't know why you chose to drive. >> I chose to drive. Like, that's my vehicle, like [ __ ] That ain't my fault that the car flying. >> Hey, it's Officer Childress. Your PD, I have an adult female in custody. >> Bro. [ __ ] Stop. No. You want to take me to jail right now? I got a lot of [ __ ] like that, like Oh. Oh. Bro. >> What's that? No. I don't even know where you work. No, I think you're you're giving me way too much credit. I have no I have no desire to report anything to your job. Oh, well, I mean, it'll be like public records. So, if somebody were to like a criminal history on you, it might pop up. No, I can't. One thing about I mean, DUIs, there's really no leniency when it comes to that kind of stuff. You don't remember the conversation I had with you 10 minutes ago? Yeah, I can't really it depends on how quickly you sober up. Everybody's different. Some people it only takes like an hour or two. Sometimes it takes them a lot lot it just depends on where you're at. No, no, you should be I would say you should be able Yeah, you're It is 2:30. All right, as soon as they give me the okay. Oh, it's not nowhere near as cold as it is out here. But they'll they'll change you out and everything. Yep, you're getting to Yes, ma'am. That's out of my control. >> I'm not planning on that. >> That is out of my control. >> You cannot refuse me posted on social media. >> Yes, I don't I don't post anybody We don't We don't post anybody on social media like that. >> Y'all Can I get these cuffs loosened? >> One second, I got to read you something real quick, okay? >> I'm holding it in my right hand. >> Okay. It's not >> No, but I already read you your Miranda rights. You don't remember? >> Yeah, I do remember. >> Okay, I'll read it again. Um so now I'm requesting that you submit to a lawful test of your breath for the purpose of determining >> refused already. >> No, no, no, but listen to what he's saying cuz if you don't, there's there's things that will happen. So make sure you listen to everything and think about the repercussions, okay? >> I'll summarize afterwards, make it easier, okay? Um if you refuse to take the test I requested of you, your driving privilege will be suspended for the period of 1 year for your first refusal. Do you have a DUI in the past? Okay, so it'll be suspended for 1 year. Okay, hear me out. Additionally, if you refuse to take the the test I requested of you, you will be committing a misdemeanor of the second degree if this is your first refusal, which you're saying you never had a DUI before, you wouldn't have a refusal. Um in addition to any other penalties which can be imposed by law, refusal to submit to the test I requested is admissible in the evidence in any criminal proceeding. Do you still wish to uh Do you still refuse to submit the breath test? >> Well, not until I take it. >> So So to summarize here, if you refuse, license suspended for 12 months, and then you got an extra misdemeanor of the second degree. >> Okay, well, my question is when can I take the test? >> Um here in 5 minutes, 5 Yeah. >> It's going to be 20 minutes. >> 20 minutes. >> Yeah, 20 minutes. >> It's a yes or no. You're willing to take the breath test or no? >> I can decide when I get inside. >> Yeah, at any point. >> I'll decide when I get inside. >> Okay. >> Can I get these cuffs loosened up a little bit >> Um they'll be out in a second and they'll they'll take you out of the cuffs. >> They'll take them off right now, I'm asking. My my wrist just hurt, that's all I was asking. >> I know. Try not to lean back cuz then it they kind of do. >> trying to lean back, but they just hurt since I'm down. So, that's why I'm asking, can they get loosened a little bit? >> Yeah, just give us a minute, okay? >> That's fine. >> She was booked into the county jail on charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a breath test. She was also issued a citation for careless driving related to the crash. After being taken into custody, she later posted bond and was released the same day with records showing a total of $650. And at the time this video was posted, court records show the case is still open.
