On July 27th, 2025, deputies responded as backup in reference to an active DUI investigation. Another deputy was already on scene conducting a traffic stop when the incident began to unfold. Yeah. I don't understand. >> My name is >> All right. >> As deputies muted their audio to confer about the situation, the driver was taken into custody for DUI and placed in handcuffs. While this was happening, his friend, already on scene, began shouting at deputies from the side of the road and causing a disturbance. Just as things seemed under control, the driver's sister suddenly pulled up in her vehicle, setting the stage for what quickly became a much bigger problem. >> You have 215 when you can. Deputies again told her she needed to leave, but she refused. Instead, she stayed parked and while on a 911 call, told the operator she would not move. >> I'm on the phone with 911. You're blocking traffic and then when the officer the deputy is trying to pull you out of the car, >> you start acting crazy and you take off and you hit him. >> So that's a big problem. She came back, told her she needed to leave again, and she hit one of the deputies with her car. So now she's going to jail for aggravated assault on law enforcement. >> Right. >> Okay. >> So you seem >> as of the grand scheme of things, you seem to be the only one who's calm in this whole entire thing. Somebody else saw him and then when the deputy pulled up behind him, he accelerated and stopped underneath the overpass. So he's sitting on top of the um on top of the island and then he speeds off again and that's why he was stopped there. So they investigated him for DUI refused roadside task so the investigator had to go with what she had and that's the other definitely not talking >> I said we're definitely not talking to that guy. >> Oh the guy on the side of the road. >> Yeah. You need to leave. She'll be at the county jail. She'll probably call you when she gets processed. But she's going to jail tonight. >> I've been calling her. I don't know what was going on. I was using a car. >> All right. without his phone call. [Music] In the end, deputies placed both the driver and his sister under arrest. The driver was charged with DUI and transported to the detention facility. His sister was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence, obstruction, and fleeing and eluding. Both were booked into jail that night and both vehicles were towed from the scene, officially bringing the chaotic stop to a close. >> Is my brother here as well? >> What's your thoughts?
