Female with a shotgun, a female in the house with a gun. Said it's her friend's sister, female not letting people out of the house. Saying someone stole her gun. Black female, braids, army outfit, military green, all. >> Okay. >> Kids are crying, everyone ran upstairs, said she's not letting people leave the house. So much yelling. Points at the laser beam on the rifle at everyone. >> According to the call, eight people were inside the residence including children, with a woman armed and refusing to let anyone leave. But slowly, the pieces were starting to come together. >> Is this her house? >> Yes, this is her house. >> Why was she pointing the gun at everybody? >> She said that somebody stole her gun. >> I have one person. Just one person. One person. >> She went outside and we were sitting in the We were sitting in the living room. We were sitting in the living room. She went outside for like maybe 5 10 minutes. If you If you How would they know? >> I got you. >> That is That [ __ ] crazy. I don't want to ever be over here again. >> According to two of the women involved, the disappearance of a firearm was the center of the dispute and the homeowner was going nuts about it. However, the suspect's sister was about to give officers a different version of events. >> What happened today? >> My sister had Hey, hey, hey. >> And what Which sister is What was she wearing? >> This is her house. >> Okay, is this the one in the camo? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> This is her house. Okay, this is what happened. You know, >> [crying and laughter] >> and an extra friend. Her Her daughter is also here. You know what I'm saying? So we didn't want to be out and running and we could have just been here in the AC, you know, chilling, whatever, whatever. >> Extra and necessary people came or whatever and she didn't know why we was gone that her dude came and got his gun. >> So So her baby dad came over here to come get the gun or something like that? >> yes. And she didn't know that, okay? But regardless, you know, >> When did she grab Did she grab the gun or something like that? >> It's her house, okay? So she's able to stand her ground. Correct? >> So she's got her gun to defend herself from the boyfriend. >> No, she got her gun cuz she wasn't aware that the boyfriend came and grabbed his gun out of things. So nobody's leaving until I know where the gun is. >> She thought one of you guys took the gun. >> but one of >> She thought She thought somebody took a gun, but it was actually her boyfriend who took it. >> He claimed it. So And someone she came in and confirmed it. Everybody was leaving >> was there and then said, um, no one's allowed to leave until, >> Right. >> you guys cough up the gun. >> Right. Because, you know, at the end of the day, they don't know anybody's name. If something come up and if anything happens, >> I understand why she's worried about where her gun's missing, but it's also illegal, it's called unlawful restraint if they tell you >> told you too cuz it's called kidnapping. >> Yeah. Yeah, so it'd be a lot It'd be a lot Yeah, it'd be a hostage situation. >> her down within the time >> That's the situation we came into. We came into a hostage situation. That's what we thought we were coming into. >> According to the suspect's sister, the situation escalated after the homeowner discovered that an ex-boyfriend had brought something he shouldn't have brought to the house. It was becoming clearer why tensions had risen so quickly while a few questions remained unanswered, but the suspect herself wasn't making things any easier for officers. >> Do you want to Do you want to talk about what happened? No. Did you, uh, did you have a gun or anything like that? Cuz what >> they're saying or what we got in the notes basically is that someone matching your description had a gun and was not letting anyone out of the house. Did that happen or anything like that? >> No. Okay. >> No. >> Basically Jazz is all you're saying then. >> Yeah. >> What So where's this Where's this other gun that you think someone took? >> What? >> Did you take Did someone take another gun from your Did someone take another gun? >> No. It's Walmart. >> What kind of What kind of guns do you have in the house? >> have any guns in all. >> We already found the gun. Found two guns. So what >> What kind of What kind of guns do you have in >> Guns? You tell me. It's your house. >> I mean like but you guys didn't have a warrant. >> We went in there to see if there's anybody hurt because because you were threatening Next No. Listen. You're not letting me Listen. Listen. It's not about We're not searching your house. >> Yeah, you did. >> There was guns sitting out. Do you understand me? >> There was guns sitting out. >> It wasn't guns sitting out. >> Well, there was. >> No, it wasn't. >> because you were threatening people with the gun. A shotgun. Okay? Plain and simple. You can't do that. >> I was in my house and it's called Ohio >> Don't Don't do that. >> Okay. It's called Ohio standard law. >> You're also wasted right now. So technically >> in I'm in my house. >> You're intoxicated and you're handling a firearm. Are you even allowed to own a firearm? >> I mean yes. I don't have any guns. >> no felonies? >> I don't have any felonies. >> Okay. >> You all are going to arrest me because I'm in my house and it's that won't leave my house. >> People called us saying that you were pointing a gun with a laser on it to Jasmine. >> What? >> That's what people are calling about. And then you you held them in your house. >> No. >> them in your house from leaving. >> No, I didn't. No, I didn't. >> Okay. >> Uh When When you're ready to talk to me you can come >> When you're ready to talk to me you can come and talk to me. All right? >> First, the suspect denied the allegations against her. But when officers came up with evidence from the scene, her focus quickly shifted to challenging the investigation itself. The more questions investigators asked, the more defensive the suspect became. And what happened next suggested this wasn't the first time those around her had witnessed this kind of behavior. >> Is the Are you Were you ever married to the biological father of your children? >> Why does it matter? Stop talking to me. Shut the [ __ ] up. I'm talking. I'm warning you anyway. >> Because I'm trying to figure out if your kids are going to get to go with CSB or if they're going to get to go with dad. >> to go with They're going to go with their mom. They're going to go with their mom. >> your decision to make. That's not your decision to make. >> What? >> You are not making that decision. >> [ __ ] you're not making that decision. They're mine. >> All right. >> So, I should be I should get my kid. But, go somewhere with her. That's her. I can't pick my kids up. >> Okay. >> So, I don't I don't care what those are. You got kids? >> I do. >> So, definitely you should understand where I'm coming from. Like I don't care what those are. At the end of the day, all I care about are my kids. >> Mhm. >> That's a fact. I've been through this [ __ ] before. That's why I'm going to put with her now. But, all I want is my kids. I don't care what you what she did. I went through that [ __ ] before with my other kids. >> In the end, the homeowner was arrested and faced charges related to threats and the welfare of children. >> [music] >> Next, officers in Sacramento faced one of the longest and most agonizing standoffs imaginable. A father in the grip of a severe mental health crisis acting dangerously with his family [music] trapped inside their house. >> Can you tell me Send someone. My father is going to break into the house. I I mean, I everyone down. He's going to break into the window. He's going to come after my children. >> Police! Police! >> On August 10th, 2022, just after 1:00 in the morning, officers arrived at a Sacramento residence to find a situation already spiraling out of control. Isaiah Gardner had armed himself with a 3-ft sword and barricaded himself inside the master bedroom with his wife and two children. What made the situation even more alarming was that Isaiah himself had been the one to call 911. >> Isaiah, what's going on over here? >> It's okay. Please, somebody send someone. My father is going to break into the house. I've broken every door. I every window. He's going to break in through a window. He's going to come after my children and I don't know what he's capable of. He's an abusive man. He's violent. >> Who are you with right now? Who are you talking to? >> When you hear him come through the door, just know he has a gun. He has many guns. You lost a sword. You barricade with whatever you have. You throw whatever you can in front of it. >> What's his name? >> My family is cowering in here and I know he's going to be here. And as soon as he comes through that door, either you guys going to find psychological help for my family A or B, you guys are going to find a body with me on it and a sword in my hand. >> For hours, Sacramento officers tried to reach him, crisis negotiators staying on the line while SWAT quietly assembled a hostage rescue team outside. What was coming through that phone was not a man looking for help. It was a man convinced that something was coming for his family and that he alone could stop it. >> I ain't going down. I ain't leaving this room and neither are you. You didn't stop doubting. You're an idiot. You're an idiot. You're so an idiot. >> Isaiah, can I talk to please? I can't >> her voice. Let me just talk to her a moment and make sure she's okay. >> The cowardly angels are there The cowardly angels are there for rights against I don't remember who they are. I said pray for an innocent man and his family who are about to have Satan installed that moves on them. The devil installed and it's knocking on my daughter again. Like this one. I'm going to chop your head off. That's what will happen. And this woman has betrayed me all my life. >> Tell me Tell me about that. >> They're passing out. They're getting pulled over right now. The evidence [music] was clear. He assaulted somebody on duty and it's I don't care how many more people he did it in front of. And the the department was aware of it and they still hid it from I want you to be very careful what you do. You know >> to me. >> You're not going to I know all of them the demons are still out there. They're waiting around. Shut the [ __ ] up and listen to me. No. Get the [ __ ] off me. You're so done. You failed tonight. You failed. You failed so badly. >> You have messed with me. You're protecting yourself. You're protecting your body. It's fresh.
