She assaulted me. She took me to the floor. She me using the handle. >> He's like, "You want to know what? I got to send you to jail because you have this whatever." And I'm like, "That's just evil. I did nothing. The entire circumstance is that he the out of me. He threw me against the wall. Please ask my family." >> Some households reach a breaking point where arguments turn into something much more serious. So, what happens when parents are forced to call the police on their own children? >> I'm coming to my phone. He knows I'm coming to the phone because he know I'mma call the police. And then he me >> where [music] he >> in my face. >> In the face. >> And then he just come with his fist. And then I fell. >> These were the moments when parents called the police to arrest their spoiled kids. We begin with a father asking for help after his daughter lost control only for her to insist she was the real victim. >> She first slapped me and I was trying to guard myself and then she did that and broke my handle. >> Why is it fair that he gets to call the cops on me after? >> Take a seat. Ariana, you're the only one with a different story than what everyone else has to say in that house. What are you doing? >> TELL THEM [screaming] HE ME FIRST. >> ON January 19th, 2025, a 911 call was suddenly cut off when a daughter snatched the phone from her father's hand as he pleaded for help. Police rushed to the scene to understand how things had spiraled. >> Look, police. >> This is my daughter right here. >> Okay. Where's she at? >> I don't know. She I I [clears throat] ran in the room after she assaulted me. >> Is she still here? Yeah, I I believe so. Probably Ividy. She's um been bakered three times. She had bipolar reacted cycling and um panic effect disorder. And I'm pretty sure she got more psychological disorders. But I was talking she woke me up at like 1:20 in the morning just almost gave me a heart attack >> today. >> This morning. >> Okay. What's happening today? that she assaulted me. She's bipolar. She needs to be paid correct. She's already been through there three three times there for this occasion. She assaulted me. She threw me to the floor. She me using the handle. She first slapped me and I was trying to guard myself and then she did that and broke my handle. >> The father answered the door explaining that his daughter Ariana was bipolar and that this wasn't the first time she had attacked him. He said she woke him at 1:20 a.m. banging on the door, then threw him down, snapped him, [music] and him with his cane until it broke. Officers now wanted to check for injuries. >> Do you mind coming out here so I can check? >> And then I got a little bit of redness on your neck. So you said she hit you in the neck with it. >> She's done. >> Did she hit you in the neck >> with your cane? Yes, she was slapping me in the face and then she grabbed my cane and that's why the end is broke. >> Okay. >> She kept me and then I was like unfort sister and he's like she's trying to kill me. >> Are there any weapons in the house or anything like that? >> I don't think she has anyone. >> What started all this tonight? >> Probably her being intoxicated under the influence. uh her 16-year-old dog last night. Okay. >> That had to be euthanized. >> But but that was that wasn't the mate. She was before that she was doing. >> Okay. >> You know, stuff she shouldn't have been doing. >> And then while you were on the phone with 911, did she take your phone away? >> Yeah. She got I was on the house phone calling and I was trying to I I don't have the I'm too freaking weak and I'm dizzy and I can't hold on. I could barely talk cuz it get slur and the I can't >> okay >> concentrate well and I try to grab a phone bag and she won't let me get it back. >> Then I had to use myself find my cell phone and lock myself in my my room. >> No, you can run. >> All right. Well, I'll go inside and I'll talk to her and see what's going on tonight. Okay. >> Okay. >> Where is she? >> Her stuff. >> Yeah, she lives in there. I do not know why. >> I have no >> Where's her bedroom? >> She actually is in the share bedroom. Unfortunately, it's a threebedroom apartment. She say my mother. My mother's changing now. >> Okay. He added that Ariana might have been under the influence since her dog had she had taken his phone and being too weak to fight back, he locked himself in his room with another phone to call the police. Officers entered the house and upon leaving with Ariana, they wasted no time in taking action. >> All right, just do me a favor. Look away. >> What? He me with his cane. >> Okay, >> we're going to talk with you. >> Okay, >> but why you why didn't you put handcuffs on him? >> Listen, we're going to talk about it. All right. when I was the one who called the cops on him for beating on me, bruises on me, bleeding on me, threw me against the wall, punching me in the face. >> We're going to talk about it in a second. Relax. >> Oh, you got to say that. >> They are going to talk to you. >> Yeah, but then you take me away for no reason. I'm 19 years old. >> 14. We have an adult female 15. >> He's a 15year-old 50-year-old man who's who's got all these psychological >> All right, come with me, please. probably. >> You have anything on you you're not supposed to have? >> I don't know. No, >> you don't know. >> No, I don't. >> Do you have any contraband? >> You're taking me to jail? >> Yes. >> What did I do? >> We're going to talk about it. >> I have medication that I need to take. >> We're going to grab everything for you. >> Otherwise, I will get I will have seizures and get withdrawals. I'm on cerill and everything. I No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Why is it fair that he gets to call the cops on me after me and throwing me? Take a seat. That's not fair. I have my grandma to back me up and my family. >> All right. Before you say anything else, let me read this and then we'll have a conversation. Okay. >> Okay. >> There's no proof. >> You understand your rights. >> I understand, but there's no [clears throat] proof. So, how can you just take me when I have a bruise on my arm and he threw me against the wall and hit me with his cane? I've got ones on my legs and ones on my arms >> before we get and he has nothing. He's abusive. Ask my family. He's abusive. He's on colonopin. [music] Um Xanax, 30 of them every other day. He's been like this. And we've been trying to beg him to stop. I love him so much. And he gets into these comas and and and just gets so violent to everybody. And then he's like, "You want to know what? I got to send your ass to jail because you have this and whatever. And I'm like, that's just evil. I did nothing. >> Ariana claimed she was the one assaulted, accusing her father of mental problems and being abusive. But officers dismissed her story and explained why she was being arrested. >> I'll tell you the very first thing you're under arrest for, right? >> Mhm. >> Um cuz I was hearing live 911. I have access to all live 911. >> I did that one time before and he snatched the phone out of my hand. They all snatched the phone out of my hand when I tried to call 911. So I stopped at that and then he he was doing it and I was like >> So then you took the phone out of his hand today while he was on the phone with 911 right here and I was like what are you doing and then hung up. >> So you took his phone I didn't take his phone. I was like what are you doing? And he just hung up. >> Did you tell grandma that you snatched it from him when you were behind the door? No. >> We heard you through the door. You did say that. She had and I had to snatch the phones from everybody else in the house when he had robbed all of us for our >> We're not asking. We're asking about what happened tonight when you took the phone out of his hand. I was trying to use the bathroom to wash my face and he was in the bathroom and I was patiently waiting for him to get out and I don't know exactly what happened, what led up to it, but I just know we got into each other's like like he kept getting closer to me just like last time. He carted me into a wall and started like we started just going at it and tackling each other and he had it his like cane in his hand and he went like this to try to hit me and I grabbed the cane and that's when we were going to start fighting cuz he hit me with the cane a metal cane. I'm 19 years old. >> Ariana, you're the only one with a different story than what everyone else has to say in that house. >> Like what? >> Like that you were aggressive, right? Yeah, my dog just think I was screaming breaking on that. >> So, why did you take the phone away from him while he was on the >> I didn't He had it right here and I was like, "What are you doing?" Because last time I tried to call the cops, they snapped >> I I'll tell you what you said on 911. You said, "Give me that. Give me that." >> Yeah. I was like I was like, "What are you doing?" Like, cuz last time I tried to call the cops on him, they they all took the phone away from me. But I was like, "Did you not just see that he punched me in the face and and threw me in the wall?" Like I am literally like what 120 lbs? What am I supposed to do? He's my father. I want him to love me and and be nice and love. But he's just >> How much have you had to drink tonight? >> Zero. I'm completely sober. You can you can you >> You're under the influence of something. >> No, I'm manic. I'm manic right now. They can ask them. I'm manic because my dog >> What are you diagnosed with? bipolar, borderline, and um I think that's it. I'm not sure. >> Okay. >> She denied taking the phone during the 911 call and gave a version that didn't match her families. Ariana insisted she was sober, saying her behavior was only due to a manic episode. She truly believed she was right. >> If I call the cops first, would you have gotten him? >> It doesn't matter who calls the cops first. What matters is the entire circumstance, right? >> Yeah. And the entire circumstance is that he beat the out of me. He threw me against the wall. Please ask my family. They saw they saw that he that he put his hands on me first and I had to defend myself. >> And this is what he wants. He wanted me to go to jail. >> He's telling me defending himself. >> He's telling you something. >> He has injuries. >> He Yeah, cuz he did it to himself cuz he's that crazy. He has issues. He I don't know how to explain it to you. He He's just in neurological problems. >> How do you spell your last name? Do you have a phone? >> Not on me. >> Do you have a phone regularly? >> Mhm. >> What's your phone number? >> So, you're taking me to jail because my dad beat me? >> I'm sorry. >> You're taking me to jail because my dad beat me and I defended myself and my >> That's not why you're going to jail. >> And what? >> You're going to jail one for preventing him from calling emergency services. >> He did that to me before, too. They all threw him. Listen, we're not talking about what happened in the past. I wasn't here with you before. I wasn't here 2 days ago, >> okay? I'm here tonight and I'm dealing with what's happening tonight. >> Okay? You're also under arrest for domestic battery. >> Domestic battery when he hit me first because if you see a 50-year-old man punch me in the face and hit me with his cane. Oh, a 19-year-old uh 119B girl. >> So, I I'm going to I'm going to stop you there. Like it's against it's a he say she said he said she said we heard over 911 that you took the phone from him. He also >> Yeah because he wanted to send me to jail and >> but he also took you also told your grandma that you snatched the phone from him. That in itself is a crime to take the phone away when someone's calling. >> It's not he did that to me. He did that to me yesterday multiple times. >> Okay. >> I had to take the phone away from my grandma when she was trying to send him to jail years ago. I tried to protect this family. >> Okay. Well, that's what you're under arrest for. All right. >> Under arrest. I never took the phone from him ever. >> Depriving someone of 911 already. >> I never took the phone away from him. He acted like that and he hung up. >> You told the 911 operator. You told our dispatch that you took the phone from him, too. >> No, I didn't. >> Yes, you did. >> No, I was on the phone with operator. She I was like, "Do you want me to stay on the phone with you?" She's like, "Yes, please. They're here. They're here. They're here." >> Okay. Prior to that, you you told >> And so, I went over there and I was on the phone. >> All right, ma'am. >> Her story shifted again. First admitting she took the phone, then denying it, claiming her father ended the call himself, but officers had heard the call and knew the truth. Her attitude didn't improve in the patrol car. >> You're going to throw up. >> No. Stop. >> Protect me. Tell him I didn't do anything. >> Stop. >> Tell them that he hit me first. Protect me. You can take You can help me. >> Stop. >> Tell them that he me first with his cane. I can't talk to my family. >> No, I told you I would roll down the window if you're going to start screaming. >> My speech, sir. >> Okay, sure. >> All the other cops let me roll down the window and talk to my family. >> Okay. >> So, the am I going my >> Mhm. >> going through a lot. And I know how you cops are. So, >> how you cops are >> pigs. >> Okay. That's why my dad flips off all of you guys. >> Okay. What are you doing? >> Tell them he ME FIRST. [screaming] I WILL not go to jail if you all of you witnessed it. That he me first. What do you What am I doing? I'm talking to my my family members. Sir, that's what I am doing. since you won't let me love her anything. We all just lost our 16-year-old animal. But you cops, you don't care. You have no no morals, no sensitivity, nothing. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Exactly. But my point proven exactly. You just proved my point. [laughter] It's sad. That doesn't mean sad. It's sad that you just take a 19year-old girl who's almost finished in high school in a week and [music] because my dad hit me with a can and then you believed him over me because you're [music] a man. >> She had a second arrest for battery uh by pieces. >> Yeah. And that's why he called the cops on me cuz he knew I had one record and he hit me. He punched me in the face. He threw me. I still have a scratch on my arm. He threw me against the wall. You can ask all my family. They know there. Everyone is scared of him. He needs to go to a psychiatric hospital and get help. >> Ariana kicked the car door and screamed at the top of her lungs for her family to tell the truth. Insisting her father had her first. She demanded to know what they had told the police. >> Were you the one who talked to my family? >> Sorry, >> what are you saying? >> Um, were you the one who talked to my family? >> Yes, I talked to your family. >> What did they say? >> They told the same thing that he said to you. >> What? But then me and my dad got into a fight. >> Yes. >> It's every day. Me and they always tell me not to call the cops. Tell him not to call the cops. He hit me with his cane and he punched me in the face, threw me against the wall. We don't like to call the cops because whoever calls the cops goes to jail. >> That's That's not how that works. It >> It's exactly how it works. You're a cop. You wouldn't understand, sir. >> I do understand. >> No, you don't understand. All of you cops, you know what you are. >> 1435. >> My dad calls all of you guys pigs. Everything. Everybody calls you pigs. I'm respectful to cops, but I turned >> when you do this. >> No. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hey, hey, hey, hey, can you can you tell my aunt to come out here and say goodbye? >> No, that's it. We're done. >> You are the worst cop in the world. My other couch that I had brought my bag out to me. My family, he put my phone and all my bags inside of inside of my house. Did everything for me. >> That's nice. >> And you guys don't give me my medication which I get seizures from. >> All right. >> You know he me first all the time. >> Stop or you're going to get a resisting charge. You know he me first. Help me. If you told them the truth, if you told them the truth, I would not be going to jail. >> No, you liar. You hit me with the gate first. You wanted me to go to jail forever. >> You punched me. Punched me with everything. And you left me. Ow. [screaming] >> Sit in the car. >> I can't. >> Get back in the car. >> Dude, what are you doing to me? >> Get your legs in THE CAR. >> I CAN'T. YOU'VE GOT ME SQUISHED. I can't. >> Then sit up. >> How? How the do you want me to sit up when I can't? Mom, >> now you're getting do anything. >> Now you're getting to my family. >> She argued with officers, insulting them while claiming she was always respectful. She said they were being mean and she was just retaliating. Even after resisting arrest and receiving another charge, Ariana kept yelling, >> "Tell come over here. Tell them the truth. [screaming] Tell them the truth. Get me some water or something. I can't I can't breathe. I didn't take my medication. I [screaming] need you to tell the truth that he me first with his CANE BECAUSE NOW THEY'RE taking me to jail because he told them first. >> Hey, shut up. You need to tell them the truth because they said you agreed with him by hitting me in the face first. You need to call me soon and tell them the truth. I can't believe you're I can't believe you're letting them do this to me when he be the shut up. >> Stop. >> Who? >> Yeah. >> No. I thought I should hold by my father. He beat >> you. Shut why you're jail. >> Shut the up. You woohoo. That's you, >> baby. They're not even trying to let me talk to you. You need to do everything you can. I cannot believe you let them. >> I cannot believe you let them take me. In the end, Ariana was arrested and charged with domestic battery, tampering with a witness and resisting law enforcement with violence. Up next, after being asked to do something simple, this daughter turned the situation into a full confrontation and still acted as if she was the one being wronged. >> She just kind of pushed me. She grabbed my phone and threw it. Just kind of bear hugged me so I couldn't She's pretty strong so that I couldn't move. And then when she put the scissors in my face, that's when I got a close like, "Who you going to stand? What you going to do? Cuz at this point, you're provoking me to something to do SOMETHING ELSE TO YOU. [screaming] >> I HATE YOU. I HATE YOU. THIS AIN'T NO CRAZY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE WHAT THE THAT MEANS. >> On October 31st, 2024, police were called by a mother who said her daughter Janiah had turned hostile after being asked for a simple favor. The officer quickly tried to understand what had unfolded between the two. >> Hello. >> I guess I do. So, what what led to everything happening? >> I knocked in the door and asked her to turn the the water off from the toilet cuz this keeps running. >> Uhhuh. >> And she just got hostile. >> What was everything that she did? >> Um, she just the my kids are my little kids are now. They're four years old. So, >> she's kind of pushed me. She grabbed my phone and threw it. >> Just kind of bear hugged me. So, I couldn't She's pretty strong >> so that I couldn't move. But, >> okay. >> You know, >> how old is she? She's 23. >> Okay. All right. And where is she at now? Has she >> upstairs? Has she has she calmed down or >> No, she's up there just talking to somebody. I don't know. >> Okay. Let me >> There's nobody. >> Go up there. What's her name? >> Romeo. Janiah. She can relate. >> Janiah. >> Hey, how are you? >> Hello. >> You can come in if you need to to see things around. Okay. So, basically >> Okay. Hold on. Let's we can you can stay in your room. We can just talk. >> So, she um called my name while I was getting my clothes out my um out the dryer, right? >> Okay. >> So, I haven't really been talking to anybody because she has been talking junk about me. I was hanging out with my friend the other day and he said that she called him and told him that I am on medication, so don't come get me no more. So, I'm not really speaking to her, right? But still being respectful. I kind of just like hm to see what she wanted. She's telling me that she need me to turn off the um toilet because um something about the water problem. I kind of already know about that, but my toilet doesn't do it. So, I'm looking like, okay, so you know, I go in there, try to turn off the toilet. She talk about some more. Well, I already did it now, so there's no need to do it. I got a whole attitude. So, I'm looking like, you know what? I've been quiet for years. She has been calling like mental places on me. They come and get me, sticking me with needles and all this type of stuff. Don't they don't ask me no questions. They just come and get me and try to take me. >> The mother said she only asked Janiah to turn off the sink, but instead her daughter lashed out, throwing her phone aside and holding her so she couldn't move. Janiah cooperated with the officer and claimed her mother kept trying to send her to mental places without her consent. And she hinted this wasn't the first time she had called police herself. >> I called the police maybe two or three nights ago because she keeps coming to my door insisting that there's something wrong with me. Talking about some But I I got a video actually I can show. >> Okay, hold on. We're just talking about tonight. >> What happened tonight? Okay, so this this is basically what's summed up for tonight though. That's why I wanted to show you. But so basically that night she come my room talking about something. I just feel a whole lot better taking medication talking to me like I'm some random [ __ ] on the street. So I don't know what may be going on with her but so then um when she came right here right she was going to call somebody. So I'm like okay who was she f to call? She she um I reached for her phone and she had tries to she put the scissors in my face and then when she put the scissors in my face that's when I got up close or her like who you f to stab what you going to do cuz at this point you're provoking me to something do something else to you and so then that's when she had tries to like put her hands on me when I'm reaching for her phone and she like put she like punched me like trying to fight me. She end up my little brother talk about oh I'm so sorry so sorry. Then she came back at me on some trying to fight me. So, I called myself. I'm not sure if you the one I called or you called from her call, but I called myself because she keeps on insisting on this mental hospital and they would really come and try to take me. I I just called y'all because, you know, ain't no telling what else she may do at this point. She does have a weapon in here. I don't know what she on. >> At what point you said you tried to grab her phone? What What led? >> When she was trying to call the um mental people on me to come get me. So I tried to reach for the phone and that's when she had um reach that's when she pulled her arm up trying to hit me trying to fight me. >> Okay. So what do you mean by trying to fight you? [music] What was she doing? >> Like I don't want to attack you but like say this is me right. She was just like give my phone back like some like like basically punching at me, grabbing on me, gripping on me. >> Okay. So did you actually grab her phone or >> No. No. I reach for the phone and that's when um she um tried to grab at me, try to grab on hold to me. >> And what she also does is she brings them by my door and she sits right here for some odd reason and she like tries to keep them by my door. The last time she did that, she called them people saying there's something wrong with me. It was also one time I tried to go downstairs and get me a chicken noodle soup and she told me, "You can't eat nothing cuz it's all for the boys." So basically, I can't even eat nothing here. Janiah said she tried to grab her mother's phone when she thought she was about to call someone. She claimed her mother raised scissors to her face and even punched her while trying to stop her. But the officer questioned why she would try to take her mother's phone at all. >> Hearing from both sides, it sounded like she took out her phone and for some reason you decided to try and take her phone from her even though it's her phone and there's no reason for you to try and take her phone. >> Correct. >> Trying to see who she going to call because who >> but it's her phone. >> Okay. She can call whoever she wants to, right? That's just like you can call whoever you want. >> Okay. So, if she if she tries to talk to me and I say, "Oh, I'm just not in the mood to talk right now." Isn't that my prerogative as well to say, "I just don't want to talk right now." So, how does that mean I have a problem? >> But listen, but that means you have a you have a room, you have a door. I'm sure there's a lock. You can close the door and not have to talk. >> And I do. And she comes and unlocks the door and comes in saying she feels much better if I take medication. >> Okay. Did she unlock the door tonight? trying to get to understand is if she's calling somebody about whatever is happening between the two of y'all, whatever she says is happening to you, whatever reason, why not just let her do it and be on your way? >> Because when she do it, instead of me, I actually started calling them back on her. When she do it, they come in with a dolly, a dolly, and whatever, and tries to take me to psych wars and mental facil suicide prevention [ __ ] >> But you're an adult, correct? >> Yes. >> Are you allowed to make your own decision? >> Yes. So then you can tell them no. >> They don't ask me. They don't say nothing. It was literally a paper with my name on it. >> So then it sounds like that it's more than just that then because if you're an adult, you're you're able to make your own decisions unless something happens that makes them become >> that was never the case. >> Okay. >> That was never the case. She just calls them. >> Okay. But they can't just listen because they can't just take you out of your house without a reason. They have to have a reason to do it. So, in order for that to happen, it sounds like that there had to been some kind of reason. >> No, I was in my room one time. >> When was the last time this happened? >> Um, she does it every now and then. She does it like >> Okay. When was the last time this happened? >> So, my brain work? I want to say it was around [sighs] I want to say it was around I can't really remember the last time. It's been a long time but I remember when it all started. >> Okay. Well, I'm I'm asking about the last time it happened. >> I can't remember but when they came in. >> Okay. How old were you when the last time it happened? >> 22. >> Janiah insisted she only wanted to stop her mother from calling a hospital. The officer told her there was no reason. Nobody could force her out unless something worse had happened. But Janiah argued it had happened before. The officer reminded her that her mother pushing her could be seen as justified. >> You're saying that she pushed you and stopped you from taking her phone. She's justified in doing that. >> She had the scissors at my neck before before she >> But I'm not I'm talking about I'm talking about what happened tonight. You told me what happened tonight was she was on her phone calling trying to call for like a medical facility or whatever and you tried to take her phone and then she put her hands on you because you were trying to take her phone. What I'm telling you is that's her phone. She has a right to stop somebody from taking her phone. She was on the phone trying to call like a medical. >> I wouldn't know who she's calling. I don't know who she's calling. >> So you just assume assuming that's what's >> So then why would you do that? >> What do you mean? >> Why would you make her Nobody is about to keep coming and get me and there's nothing wrong with me all because she's saying something. >> So then if you feel that way are you still here? >> I left. I was living with my sister. She begged me to keep coming back here every time I leave and go. >> No, listen. Listen. No, let's stop because there's no reason to make that excuse. >> If you know you have issues here and you have issues with her, why would you come back? That doesn't make sense. >> She tells she would So >> I'm asking specifically why you would come back if you have those issues. because she tells people everything else to where they wouldn't want me in their home. So it's like nowhere else to go and so I come back here. >> So she forced you to come back. She grabbed you and took you and forced you to stay here. So then you came back on your own? >> Yeah, I came back on my own. >> Okay then. So if you came back on your own knowing that you have issues here, that doesn't make sense. It's not making sense to me. So if you have an issue with how she's running her house as an adult, you can leave. And I don't mean go and and be somewhere for a couple. No, there's not a reason for you to live here if you feel like there's issues here. So why would you leave and come back and then come back and stay here and keep having these issues and not leave? >> Exactly. >> Well, but I'm asking you because that's the situation that you put yourself in. >> You're right. But that's why I tell God to go before me. So >> Okay. But I'm I'm not asking about that. I'm asking you. you're making these decisions >> back because wherever I go, whoever I go to, she finds out where I met and she tells them certain things to where they to feel uncomfort. The only thing that I've heard that's congruent between the both of y'all is that she had her phone and you tried to take her phone. >> Janiah said she was living with her sister, but her mother insisted she return home. The officer told her there was no excuse. If she knew problems would arise, she shouldn't have come back. And now that trouble had started again, she needed to leave. Just then, medical staff arrived. >> Hello. >> And see, I'm not agreeing to any of this. So, that is what I'm saying right here, right now. Despite what she may have told you all, despite whatever it is that you >> we we just got >> we just Okay, I understand. So, with that being said, my mother, >> she keeps bothering me. So when I like I said I understand you said that you called because she became violent. >> Did you feel like she was going to do something? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Janiah refused to go with the doctors saying her mother was inventing mental health issues but her mother had paperwork with a diagnosis and prescriptions. Janiah stood firm refusing to be taken. Her mother said she didn't want her arrested. But by now there was no other option. >> So based off from what I'm hearing especially because we just had the ambulance and the fire department here. I wanted to try to get you to go to the hospital. You refuse. That's fine. You're an adult to do that. But as far as what's happening tonight, you're going to go to jail. She resisted the officer and shouted that she hated her. Her behavior spiraled, and as officers tried to take her outside, the struggle grew louder. I EVEN LISTEN. >> WHAT DID I JUST SAY? You're going to get all that. >> Okay. >> In the end, Jania was charged with simple assault and obstructing law enforcement officers. Next, after attacking his own father, this suspect still tried to turn the situation around, acting like he had done nothing wrong. >> Is he all right? Is he okay? >> I'm not pretty bad, man. >> Who? >> Shadow. >> What? >> You got him pretty good. >> Not me. I got arrested cuz I up her and I was honest. I'm honest. I always am. >> On August 5th, 2023, police responded to a call from a terrified mother who said her son had lost control and struck his blind father in the face. What followed was the officer's tense questioning of the suspect. >> Is everything all right? All right. Before you get out, before you get out, you can stay inside for a minute. >> Why? >> Huh? >> We're just going to talk real quick, that's all. I just don't want you to get what? We're just going to talk real quick. That's all. >> Oh, all right. >> All right. So, what happened with your dad? >> You don't know >> why. >> What happened before you left? >> Is he hurt? I didn't do anything. >> You didn't do anything? >> You have no idea what happened to your dad's face? >> No. Why? >> Because your dad has some injuries. That's why I saw myself. >> Well, how? >> What do you mean how? That's all I'm trying to ask you. >> Was it my mom? Was it her? >> Well, that's that's not what it seems like. >> I knew that. Arrest her22. >> I'm just trying him. >> I'm just trying to go ahead. >> All right. You all in the car? >> Regarding your case. >> Alec, the son, feigned ignorance, answering questions with questions and claiming he didn't know what had happened. When told his father had facial injuries, Alec quickly blamed his mother and demanded she be arrested while one deputy spoke with the mother. Another officer continued questioning Alec. >> Hey, Alec. One second. Hey, one second. One sec. Can I talk to you >> before you get out? >> What happened today, man? >> You don't know? You don't know? >> No. No, sir. >> All right. Listen, I got to take you to talk to someone. Okay. Can you Can you step out? You going to fight me? >> No. Yeah, I didn't do nothing. >> Okay. Yeah, just hop out, man. Or look here. Cuz I won't be able to get out with handcuffs. >> Are you going to fight me at all? You promise you're not? I'll put them in the front. >> No. Yeah. >> Put your hands in front of you. Put them in front of you. There you go. Put them together. Just like that. Interlace your fingers. It'll be a little bit more comfortable. All right. I'll use my bigger ones. >> Wait. So, why is this for? What happened? >> I got to take you to talk to someone. Okay. >> All right. Okay. Here. Open them just a little bit so that way they won't open your hands or look. We're going to walk right up here to this other car. Right up here. This one. Okay. That's right. >> Thanks, buddy. It >> is bigger. >> Maybe only if you want to imagine it. >> Oh, can I help you? >> I don't know. >> Here, look. I'm going to help you. Tell me if >> you have like one of the vans. >> No, >> dude. It's going to hurt me. >> I'll try something else. Try and kind of go down with this shoulder. I'll hold you up so you don't fall. No. Like here. Stick this shoulder in the car. Try and get your head in there. Does that work? There you go. >> I'm going to need help getting out. >> Yep. We'll help you, man. I promise. You're a big fellow. I wouldn't want to mess with you. >> Still pretending not to know what happened, Alec was handcuffed and moved to another patrol car. Despite his size making the process difficult, he cooperated and appeared willing to continue that way. >> Hey, can you lean over some or no? Hey, come here. >> Yeah. >> I got to put your seatelt on you. >> Oh, >> I know there ain't much room, but I got to do it. I'll get in trouble if I don't. >> Okay, that's okay. >> Can you hand me a seat belt? Not that one. We got to use the other one. That was holding up the cone, so I don't hit you in the head. >> Wow. >> Yeah, we got these ones. Hey man, >> what's up man? How you been? You >> remember me? We used to go to school together. No, other way. >> Your mom was telling me she used to be friends with >> Oh, I hate him. >> Yeah, you hate him. He's cool. >> Hate that guy. >> Oh, >> there you go. >> All right. Good luck, man. >> Is he all right? Is he okay? >> Beat him up pretty bad, man. >> Who? >> You beat your dad up. >> What? >> You got him pretty good. >> Not me. >> Was you? >> What the? Who said that? Was it my mom? Cuz he's blind. He cannot see. >> Yeah. Yep. Your mom's the one that pulled you off of them. >> No, I just went for a walk. I was walking. >> Have you changed my hair to a 22 Delta? I don't think you're out to the jail. >> Where are we going? Am I going to jail for this? >> You got to go to jail. Okay. It's just a misdemeanor. >> Just a simple battery charge. All right. >> I already have two. >> You already got two >> for no reason. It's going to be a felony. >> Were you convicted of the others? >> No. Or yes. >> What was the conviction? >> I don't know. I can't remember. Oh, it was disturb disturbing the right or the peace and another misdemeanor for bat >> bat on Leo or no normal regular. >> I appreciate you not fighting me cuz you're >> Oh, no. I I don't like you guys, but it's like it's not hate or anything. >> Ain't no need to fight. >> You guys just keeping with me. When's my court date? >> For what? >> For this all of this going on. >> So, you have the lie. >> You'll have to stay until first appearance. >> All right. >> And once you're in first, >> that's tomorrow. >> Yep. They'll let you know what's going to happen from there. >> Oh, all right. >> Alec already had a record, including prior battery charges. He knew another arrest could mean a felony. Even then, he kept bringing the conversation back to his mother. >> So, what is it? Her word going against mine, cuz I didn't do absolutely anything. Dad's face is beat up, man. >> Yeah, but who? >> She said you did it. >> No. >> No way. That's my dad. I got arrested cuz I beat up her and I was honest. I'm honest. I always am. I'm not a lie, a liar or a thief or a cheater. I did not do that. He's blind. Why would I? He didn't do absolute anything. He did nothing. And so did I. What time is it? >> Am I going to miss dinner there? >> No. Uh-uh. >> I already missed lunch and I haven't ate today. >> No. >> God. >> No. You won't miss anything. And if you're hungry for lunch, just tell them that when we get there and they'll get you. >> No way. For real? >> Yeah. >> All right, cool. >> Do you have to file a report still? No, just cuz I said or saw I know. I was going to say just cuz I've been here. I've been there and it's like I know we got to usually sit there a while. >> It's however long they take to >> Oh, for booking. >> Yeah. >> All right. As far as I know, there ain't no one there. >> Oh, all right. >> What do I What can I say to get into protective uh the prorounds? You don't >> You've been really nice so far. >> And I I'm a reciprocator. I I will reciprocate that. >> I'm a person just like you are, man. >> Thank you. >> I just got a job to do. >> Oh, I understand. Believe me. >> He admitted his mother before, but insisted he'd never hurt his father. That concern quickly faded as Alec returned to blaming his mother and claiming he didn't know what had happened. >> So, who do I have to talk? Well, I have Is there someone to talk to >> about what? >> I don't know what happened. >> Yeah, I mean, talk to me. What happened? >> I don't know. That's what I say. That's what I'm saying. That was my mom. It had to be. She hates him. They argue everywhere all the time. They should get a divorce. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Believe me, I don't want to fight with you. Fight with you guys. Say, I'd be fighting my uncle. He's one. He's a cop. He would not be very happy. >> I probably assume not. >> Where's he a cop? >> I don't know. Uh he was now he's Daytona, I believe. >> Oh, okay. >> Do they So, do they will they accommodate for me? I don't know when the last time you you were here was, but >> yeah, it's it's been a little while. >> A lot has changed. >> Been a few. >> In the end, Alec was arrested and charged with domestic battery. Moving to the next case, what began as a domestic disturbance quickly escalated as a son lashed out at his mother and then challenged officers when they stepped in. >> Then he blocked the door so I couldn't get out. Then he just pushed me up against this wall. So I was about to close the door and then he pushed the door. Then he just threw a and prot like you got more respect than that. >> I tried to tried what you got in your horn. On October 3rd, 2022, police responded to a disturbance between a 64 year old woman and her 32-year-old son who was assaulting her inside her home. When officers arrived, they found him outside in the street. >> Hey, stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Police. Stop. Stop. >> Stop. Stop. You're going to get tased. Put your hands behind your back now. >> You're going to get tased. Do not resist. >> Yeah. You want me to stick or poke me? >> No. >> This is kind of racist. >> Nothing's racist. >> Nothing. What? >> Huh? >> What? >> We got a call that you beat up your mom. I tried to stop you. >> Face the car. >> Listen. Have a male inside that has a knife in his hand being our customer. >> The man ignored repeated warnings to stop and as tensions rose, accused officers of racism. While one officer dealt with the violent man, the other went to speak with the mother. I was trying to get to the door and then he blocked the door so I couldn't get out and then he just like me pushed me up against this wall. That's why I got hole in it. >> He's your son? >> Yeah. >> Does he live here with you? >> No. >> What was he doing over here? >> He don't he don't live here. >> I don't put him out a long time ago. Every now and then he might come and I give him something of his and he just keep on going. He normally just keep on going. >> Do you need an ambulance? >> No. No. Are you sure? >> I'm sure. I just right in my face. I want to let you know that we stopped him down the road. >> He gone. >> He's in the back of a police car. He's under arrest. >> Okay. Um, >> thank God. >> But from the beginning, tell me what happened. >> He was laying on when I pulled up, he was laying on my porch. I told him I said I said, "You know, you can't be laying on my porch like this. I told you I don't want you laying on my porch over here like that." Right. He said, "I got something." Shaken and with visible facial injuries, the woman refused an ambulance. After reviewing a neighbor's security footage, another officer brought the mother inside the house to explain further. >> So, before he slams the door and locks it, you guys are right here at the bathroom. >> Yeah. >> Right. >> Where was he standing? Okay. >> In the end, the son was charged with aggravated assault under the domestic violence act, physical assault, interference with emergency communication, false imprisonment, and or strangulation. Moving on to the next case where an aggressive girl thought she could assault her parents and walk free only to face instant consequences the moment officers stepped in. >> She didn't punch me. She was shoved at me. >> Where'd you shove your ass? >> And she pushed you up in the corner. >> Yeah. >> Literally letting me go back to jail again. And this time I can't get him out. I'm not having no part of that. You want to leave, you do it on your own." So, I went laid back down in bed. She come in there, took her mom's phone from her >> and Cindy got her phone back and Cindy had it under her foot and she shoved her mom up in the corner and was sitting there and shoving her mom against the door in the corner of the wall and I got on there and I I picked the phone up out of her hands and told her to quit and I told him to call the cops. I want her out of my house. >> Okay. >> She I mean Cindy won't press start on her, [laughter] but I just want her to go anywhere but here cuz >> Did she make any contact with you? Yeah. >> She push you push you open-handed or punch you or >> No, she didn't punch me. She was shoving at me. >> Okay. Where'd she shove you ass? >> Yes. >> But that that was already on me. >> That was already on her. >> But yeah, she just shoved I mean, but like I said, she just needs to quit. >> According to the father, the altercation began after the parents refused to help the girl violate her probation to see her boyfriend. After speaking with him, the deputy called the mother, hoping to hear her side of the story. >> So, what happened? >> She wouldn't give me my phone. So, she had it in her pocket on her pants. So I grabbed it and she was just fighting over my phone. >> Okay. So she pushed you up in the corner. >> Yeah. >> You got any more on you? >> No. >> That you know of just have to check. >> Just old lady skin. >> Okay. All right. >> Would you want to press charges on her at all? >> No, I don't want her to go I don't want to press charges. She's got enough on her. I hate to >> call me a fat one more time. I'm >> She keeps calling me names. You names tonight. I'm out of here. I don't give a what you got to do. >> She shoved me and she shoved her. >> That's one thing. You know, if you two want to do something with her pushing with with you, we can do my deal is she says I'm going to have to pay her fine. She said you guys told her I was going to have pay her fine cuz I cost her a job. I said I'm not paying her fine, >> but I I don't want her on my house. >> She also said she was she did say >> if we didn't give her her, she was going to So >> that reminds me giving that we had whatever that is. >> Yeah, we can take it take it for sure. All right. Well, I'll go call the state's attorney and see what he wants to do cuz I know neither one of you want to press charges, but I've got enough witnesses and everything. You know, if there's marks on one of you, then it would be I could take her no matter what. >> I don't have any marks for she just she just her her deal is she's drunk mouth and she won't shut up. I'm trying to go to bed. I'm tired. >> Say I just got off phone's turning. The heck burn. >> Sounds like it. >> But uh what we're going to do is I'm going to go ahead and take her to Jones. So, she's going to spend the night. She might get an NTA probably tomorrow after she sobers up, but we're gonna hold her on just like a basic battery since neither one of you wanted to do anything. So, all righty. Yeah, I'll go and break the news to her and take her up there. So, >> the family's account revealed the nightmare they had endured that night. And to the deputy, it was clear this behavior couldn't be ignored. But when it was time to deliver the news to the girl, she didn't take it lightly. >> All right, Jason, go ahead and put your hands behind your back. Okay. I'll be arrested for just simple battery at this point in time. press charges. >> Neither one of them want to press charges. It's coming from the state's attorney himself. So, >> you need to quit drinking and you need to quit smoking pot because you do this. >> You're literally letting me go back to school again. And this time I can't get out. Dad, >> I can tell you sometimes this is the best. >> He just told me that it wasn't going to happen. >> He didn't know what was going on. >> He didn't talk to the state attorney like I did. Okay. >> Dad, are you >> Sorry. He's the boss. >> He's the boss of us. >> How long am I going to be in here for? >> Probably NTA tomorrow. You'll be let out tomorrow, but you're staying over the night. >> Please, Dad. I'm begging you, Dad. I can't. I'm going to have a panic attack and end up in the hospital. I can't. Dad, I [laughter] I can't whisper. >> I can't. Hold on. Please. No. Dad, please don't let them do this. >> I didn't even hurt Mom. I was trying to call Mason. He even just told me. I wasn't shoving mom. I was trying. This is what happened. And I'm going to be honest. I was even Mom could Mom even told me I didn't shove him in. She even said that to him though. Dad, >> you got me to the point. I told you already. I don't want you in my house no more because of the THINGS YOU DO. >> BUT I HAVEN'T DONE anything besides sit there at the table and let you yell at me besides when you don't. >> I do not like >> Am I allowed to go pee before we leave? Right. >> No, we'll do the same thing. All right. Let's get you up and get you out in the car. Come on. >> You're going to have to grow up. >> Can I walk on my own at least? >> I've got to hang on to you. I got to hang on to you. Okay, I'll block it with you in that handcuff. So, I'm >> The girl Jaci grew increasingly anxious after realizing she was going to jail again. But no matter how much she begged her parents, nothing could stop her from facing the consequences of her actions. >> Can I give my mom a hug? Can my mom hug me by, please? >> You want to give her a hug? >> Mom, can you give me a hug? Bye. >> You'll be all right. No. >> No, I know. Cuz I'm going to jail for Mom, I can't do this. I promise. [laughter] >> Mom, I can't. Mom, hold on. Dad, keep on. >> You're going to have to get off the drugs and alcohol. >> I Dad, you're [laughter] No, cuz Dusty's videoing me. I can't. Dusty's videoing. I'm not dumb. >> Then tell him to quit video. Let me let me walk this way. Can we walk this way? >> Literally vide me. >> Sorry guys. >> He's videoing me. But am I supposed to do that? >> Dad, hold on before we go. Dad, what are they coming out? >> That'll be up to them tomorrow. Okay. I come out at 2:00. So, if it's before then, they'll let you out. Probably let you out in the morning. >> Understand what's going on. Can we talk before I get in the car? >> After you sit in the car, we can. [laughter] Okay. I just don't understand what's going on. >> Nothing on you like first time. >> You can check me. I'll let you >> and then I step on. >> I don't have a problem, obviously. >> Can you tell me what's going on? >> Yep. I will as soon as we get your buckle in. Okay. >> These are too I can't >> I can get my finger in there. We're good. Okay. I'm not going to be comfortable. All right. So, what So, what we're going for tonight is just a simple battery. Okay. I don't >> cuz you made contact with your dad and your mom both and that's what they saying is that I never did. This is what actually happened. Like >> Well, I've got three witnesses. I got three witnesses saying >> Dusty wasn't even in there. >> Dusty is trying to get me in trouble and he's been trying to get me in trouble all night. I'm being so serious. This is going to make me lose my job and I can't have it. I can't. >> It's a simple battery. Your mom and dad are not wanting to press charges. Okay. >> Dude, I can't lose my job over this. Going to jail and two times a night. >> It won't go. If your parents don't want to do anything, it won't go anywhere. >> I'll leave my job no matter. >> You know how many times we've had domestic >> Josie kept insisting she was innocent, but having three witnesses and a troubled history with law enforcement didn't help her case. Still, she kept trying to find a way out. >> It's not going to be a domestic. >> You've already seen it on the app. It's already been screenshotted. It's >> It's not on the app. We don't put that on. >> Well, someone's already had it by much because it's screenshotted and posted on someone's story and me. >> I don't know how they would have got it one year. >> I don't know either. I don't even have my phone. So that's why you're going tonight. Okay. The state's attorney wants you held over the evening since you're still intoxicated. I can tell you are the breathalyzer right here. >> No, but I want to know what my thing is cuz I know I'm really not. It's not even that. The thing that makes me upset the most is that I was literally sitting at the table. Okay. And I was sitting like Okay, I'm not going to do anything, but I was sitting like this literally at the table and I had my hands like this in front of my hand and Dusty just started screaming at me and I didn't know what to do. And of course, whenever someone screams at me, I'm gonna yell back. >> I just don't know anymore >> because I didn't even touch anyone. The phone literally fell like literally like I want to say like this far from my foot and I didn't even touch. >> Before you go any further, I'm going to go ahead and advise you of your rights again. Okay. Okay. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you can or say can will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to talk to attorney or a lawyer and have him or her present with you while you are being questioned. If you cannot afford or hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements after hearing those. Do you understand those rights? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Good. >> Is there a way I can talk to my mom and dad before I actually go? For sure. I don't really want to be. >> So, what what happened? >> What happened with the phone? >> My mom's phone. Mhm. >> I'm being serious. This is literally what happened. She was standing at the door literally like right here and I was standing like right here and I had my feet like this and nothing literally happened. I dropped the phone because I was on the phone and I was talking and I dropped the phone so I picked it up. My dad literally shoved me and my mom said stop and like I don't know if the person heard me on the phone but my dad literally told her to stop and everything. I don't know. Jos's version of events was far different from what her family had told the deputies and they were well aware of it. >> So your mom's saying that you put hands on her. So she's saying you put hands on her. >> Can I talk to her? >> Rusty's also saying that you put hands on her and him. >> I'm having a bad I want quick, please. That's all I We're past that. Okay. >> I just need to talk to him. >> We'll get you up there and we'll get everything finished. Okay. >> All I want to do is talk. >> So just so you know, it'll be just like last time. You'll be put in the cell by yourself so you can just go in there and go to sleep. Okay. I can't sleep without talking to my mom. Is there a way I can talk? >> Put your feet in. Okay. >> Is there a way that I can at least have some Hold on. >> You can make a phone call possibly when I get up there. >> Okay. But listen, I literally have to pee so bad. I don't think I can hold it. Is there a way? >> Just swing in. We'll get up there. I'll hold it. [laughter] >> I'm going to pee my >> hurry up and get in there. We're wasting all this time. We could have already been up there. Come on. Put your feet in. Please stop. >> Put feet in. Nope. We're past that. In the end, Jossi was charged with domestic battery and violation of a probation order.
